Different languages for movies?

Hi to everybody. I have ripped some movies with 2 audio tracks in different languages. There is any way in front row to choose which language you want to hear? Or do I have to encode the movie 2 times in different languages?
Thanks for help

Is the option to select the language not in the DVD's menu? Or is the video not from a DVD? Since Front Row doesn't really have any controls, you can't make a choice without a DVD menu.

  • Purchasing additional languages for movies on Apple TV

    Hello,
We are a multilingual family, and are trying to promote the use of all our languages to our kids, French, Italian and English. We use the Apple Tv extensively, and I was wondering if there is an option to purchase aditional languages for movies on the Apple TV.
for example we purchase kids movies on the French itunes store and it includes both french and english languages, but not italian. However that same movies is available on the italian itunes store in italian. However since I have already purchased the movies i don't want to buy them all again on the italian itunes store. That would cost too much, but also we would have duplicates of our movies and in seperate itunes store accounts just to be able to watch them in different languages. This would be very inconvenient. In other cases, some movies on the french itunes store only have french as the language, however the english and italian languages are again available in the english and italian itunes store respectively.
The world is becoming ever more international and multilingual, and access to languages should not be so complicated. In fact Apple has always been a pioneer in offering all languages on their Mac OS and iOS, embracing the multilingual spirit.
IT would be extremely useful, if we could add aditional languages to an already purchased movie.
thank you for your help, if you have a solution to my problem.

  • Can we get a output in different languages for the same configuration

    Hi All,
Can we get a output in different languages for the same configuration done in NACE. or it is language specific.
They have symbols which have values both in german and english. But when we run the transaction we are getting the output only in german language. We want the out put in english
    language.
    Thanks in Advance.

A Smartform can be maintained in many languages other than the language that it is created. Translations for the texts have to be maintained for this purpose.
    To maintain the translations:
Go to transaction SE63 in R/3.
Go to menu Translation->R/3 Enterprise->Other Long Texts
Select the object type in the pop up. Smartform(SSF) object type is found under Forms and Styles(FS).
Enter the name of the Smart form and choose the source and target language. This would open a screen with the Smartform code in Source language on the top and an editor with the same code in the bottom.
Find the text for which you need to maintain the translation and insert the translation in that place. As usual after required texts are maintained Save and Activate.
To see the translated Smartform create an output type and assign the smartform and the driver program to this output type. In the transaction that sends output to this smartform, select the output type and select the language in which the smartform has to be displayed (translations have to be maintained in this lanuage). This will give the smartform in the required language.

  • Choosing the right language for movies downloadable on the iTunes Store

    Hello,
I just wanted to point out, that last night, I almost bought a movie in the non-original version through my iPhone/iPad and Apple TV, and this would have been a first (mistake). I have now noticed at work on iTunes that it does say what language the movie is in - I've also noticed some are multilingual, and some are just synchronized, and the language of the synopsis is not necessarily in the language of the actual movie, although I couldn't find my example from last night (?).
My suggestion would be to either introduce a preferred language option, or to clearly distinguish the languages in which a movie is available, to make sure appointments are avoided!
    Thank you!

Suggestions to Apple will be best submitted through the iTunes feedback page. Your comments will be most likely to get to the proper people within Apple that way.
BTW, this forum is for questions about iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. Normally you will get the quickest and most applicable responses if you ask your questions in the general iTunes forums.
    Regards.

  • Additional languages for movies?

    Hi There;
So when I buy a movie like "Brave" and download my digital copy, why do I not get all the language options it says are there on the iTunes store?
Why does the digital copy not come with all the languages which the DVD and BluRay came with, and that the box claimed on it's label?
If I were to download another copy from the iTunes store would I get all the languages then?
It would be nice if there were a way for me to download additional languages for a small fee.
Have I missed something, or am I correct that I need to download the full movie again from iTunes for full price to get additional languages?

  • Is it possible to setup a different language for the user account?

    Hi,
My server is in English but many of my users will use French.
Can I setup in WGM a different language (international) for the user?

The settings are changed in at least three locations for a user account. Changes are made to ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences, ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.HIToolBox.plist, and ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.HIToolBox.<MACAddress>.plist. There are a lot of keys in there that get changed and might vary between 10.4.x and 10.5.x -if you have a mixed OS environment. So while you you may be able to import the first two into WGM, the last one might be the most trouble as it's machine specific.
If you gave access to the 'International' System Prefpane, it wouldn't affect anything but the student account since their prefs are saved to a network location or to their local PHD account. Changes would revert to whatever the system default preferences were on logout. Those would be the prefs in /Library/Preferences.
The 'International' System Prefpane has many listings for the other language choices that are installed on the system which could be a source of confusion for student users. Removing those resources, using certain tools like MonoLingual, can make certain software behave badly or even make the system unusable. Use with caution.

  • HT3069 How to change the language for movies rented at German iTunes, watching in Denmark?

I live in Denmark, but my iTunes account is in Germany. Furthermore I want to watch movies in English. Can I buy / rent movie from German iTunes and somehow change the language to english or other? I prefer to watch movies in an original language..
    Thanks for help!

I know this is almost a year old, but I'd like to know the same thing. It seems the answer is that we can't do anything, but I'd rather ask.
I'm from Brazil, living in France for my studies. I wanted to buy a movie, but it's only in french and I prefer the original language, in this case, english. Is it possible to buy a different version, or does the country you're in dictate that?
    Thanks for your time.

  • Different languages for mail and OS

For practical reasons, I need to use Mail in English while MACOS is in German. There is no problem writing mails in English, but the program generated prompts are still in German. Has somebody any idea how to accomplish this?

Click once on the Mail program icon and do File > Get Info. Open the languages tab and uncheck Deutsch and make sure only English is checked.

  • Choosing language for movie in iTunes?

    Hello,
I ripped a movie, from an original DVD I own, with two language tracks : English & French.
When I play the movie with VLC, I can switch to english/french without problem.
However, in iTunes, the French track is greyed out when I try to change the language.
It seems I can't listen to the french track in iTunes...
    What's wrong??
    Thanks a lot...

    Hi there,
I'm new to the part of buying movies in iTunes store and got some questions about it. I live in Cologne, Germany. iTunes settings are set to English (US).
I found myself in the US Store but after all I can't buy items there, which is pretty annoying anyway and got forwarded to the German store, which is missing .. lots of content (e.g. Echelon Conspiracy).
go to the iTunes store. click on "TV Sendungen" (tv shows), and find the entry +exclusive: unaired TV shows in english+ in the upper right corner.

It's not another language, just the wrong encoding.  You probably have to convert the id3 tags to unicode

  • To_char year conversion in different languages

I'm trying to make a to_char conversion that displays the date as words, but I need it to be displayed in different languages, for example:
SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DAY MON DD YEAR','NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE=French')
    FROM DUAL;
but this returns MERCREDI JUIN 18 TWO THOUSAND EIGHT, the problem here is that the year is not being translated, is there something I'm missing or do I need to make a function to achieve this?

    It is documented: TO_CHAR (datetime):
The 'nlsparam' argument specifies the language in which month and day names and abbreviations are returned.
