Different material document number range for Services

Hi,
I want to make different material document number range for services.
I have created ZE document type from WE .
But if I see group in OMBT , i am not able to assign ZE there. How to do this?

As per standard practice we need to reset the number range for material document for calendar year 2011. New Number range will be effective from 01.01.2011. Please let me know the below -

2.     Can we define Material document number rage financial year wise (Apr to Mar) like other FI documents number range? This issue is raised by finance dept. IF yes what will be the process?
At present Number range assignment for our company is showing Year as 9999, from number 5000000000 and to number 5000000000
Whether it is mendatory to re-ser number range.

Number ranges for Material document are maintained in OMBT.
But there is no need to maintain different number ranges for material document as same as financail document. Financial documents are year based whereas material documents are not.
Also if you are maintaining the material document number ranges as per year specific, then also same document number cant be used. But in case of financial document, the document number can be same i.e year specific.
Different number ranges for Material Document :-
Then assign the specific interval for a specific year like
Year      From Number           To Number
2001      0100000000     0199999999
2002      4900000000     4999999999
2003      5000000000     5999999999
2004      0200000000     0299999999

Material Document Number Ranges

Hello Friends,
We have a business requirement to differentiate the material document number ranges. In our process, we have intercompany and third party scenarios and the requirement is that system has to determine different number series for third party goods issue and intercompany goods issue. Currently as per standard, system deriving the unique number series for intercompany and third party goods issue since th event type is WL.
Kindly provide your inputs on how we can differentiate the number ranges.

Hi,
You could try to make it through the transaction code following the process as below:
First u need to create seperate document type in OMR4 or OBF4, then create a new number range in OMBT assign your new number range to new created document type then in T. code OMBA assign new created document type to the transaction code so whenever u will create document with this Transaction code u can get new number range.

Create number range for Service Entry Sheet (SES)

I would like it is possible to configure the number range for Service Entry Sheet (SES) or it is fixed in the system? Besides, for my current configuration, the number only appear when SES is done but no reversal number if I reversed the SES, is this a correct setting? Or is there any way I can set the number for reversal document?

Number range for service master record

Hi..
i have an issue in number ranges for service master record.
when i create a service master record system is generating number ramdomly, its not in series..
where do i make the settings so that i will get service master number ranges in series...

Follow the path:
SPRO ->Material Management -> External Service Management -> Service master -> Define Number Range
In menu ->Group-> maination->Aagian Group-> Insert
Now Enter
Number Range Group Text     01( example)
From Number      80000000
To Number     89999999
& save.

Material document number range to matchthe accounting doucment number range

Hi all,
SRM 5.0 ECS.
We have a reqt to match the material document number range and the accounting doucment number range for goods receipts in ECC ...Is this possible???If so,how??

Material document number range configuration should be unique other wise lot of confusion.
since material docuemnt and account documents uniquely identified by Year and Number.
some times one material number and two accounting documents can be created while doing good receipt.

External number range for service items?

I want to create Purchase order with services using BAPI. Is it possible to set external number range for the extrow / introw, so that if I need to change a service line item, I will be able to find out which service item needs to be changed.

It depends on whether you have a service master or not.
1. If you have service master, then there will be a service number (just like a material number). You can use that identify which one has to be deleted.
2. If NOT, then they would still send the text for the Service lines (I guess this will be unique for each line item). So, you will have to identify the line to be deleted by that.

A question - You are saying you will get information to update the PO, but how does the system know which PO to be updated, how are you going to identify which PO needs to be changed?

Material Documents number range

Can set number range for Material documnets as a year dependent ?
How to set it?
In our system I am not able to set new number range for the new Fiscal Year . There are predefined number ranges . with validity year 9999. and year field displays gray . Also there is no optin for new entries
I need new number range for new current fiscal year .
Pls help . If possible in some detailed way

Hi,
Go to OMBT, click on Group in change mode, select the material doucment which you want. Then click Shift + F5, then select the line which shows year as 9999, then click F6. Now specify the year & give the number range interval as per your need.
Save & then transport the number range to your production system.

Number Ranges for Service Order

Hi All,
I want to create no. range for service order.
Generated no. should contain plant code as well.
eg VSC00AA001
here V is hardcoded
SC00 is plant code &
AA001 is no. generated from no. range.

This alpha-numeric format is not possible directly with SNRO settings.
You need to opt for external number range, and in the exit of your respective transaction you need to takecare of this number generation explicitly by programming.

Three same material document number generated for single PO line item.

Hi,
I found three same material number has been generated for single PO line item. Is there any specific reason for this.
Here is the detail.

see aditya , tables having document number as a primairy key will have a single entry , where as tables having primary key other then material documnet number is having multiple entries . as far as material document is concern , it is only one document in system , now we have to find why it is appearing 3 times . i will test this in my system and let you know .

How can I create Materila Doc Number Range Groups and elements . Pls note I want to create it new one and DO NOT WANT TO USE STANDARD .
Also how can I assign or relate or link this groups to Company code or Plant

1. go to MMNR Transaction
2. click GROUP - change mode
3. go to menu: GROUP -> INSERT (F6)
4. maintain new group data and material number intervals
5. save
6. assign proper material types to new group.

What is the meaning of setting number range as

My understanding is we do not need to set sepeate number for every year once we set 9999. Is that right ?

we can configure number ranges as year depenedent and year
independent
if we are using year-dependent number ranges
that you specify same year by year.

But when we specify it as year independent , it looks
as below.

Hi,
You need to develop a new table for intervals and for number ranges use standard table NRIV for from and to numbers. The tabel structure as -
Company Code      Billing Type          Interval No
       1000                     F2                      01
       2000                     F2                      02
NRIV Table
    Interval No        From            To
         01            10000          20000
         02            11000          21000
But as your requirement of same series will not happen in same client.

Hi Venu,
In the sytem there is no number range assignment for event type WA (Goods issues)in the year 2006. In SPRO -- Materials Management -- Inventory Management -- Number ranges for material documents -- Number ranges for Goods Issues/transfer posting -- For WA insert year 2006 and assign the number range for the year 2006.
Number ranges for material documents will be maintained year wise.
