Different mouse clicks & speed up mouse movements?

Hello,
Does Adobe Captivate recognise different mouse clicks better
to say if it can record on RMB LMB and MMB clicks different
effects? For example I wish to record Software Simulation project
were on different mouse clicks (RMB, LMB, MMB) would have custom
effects like "OrangeRing" for RMB " "GreenRing" for LMB etc?
One more question plz: I found Published movie mouse
movements are very slow can I make it move more fast without
editing every slide separatelly?
Thanks
Ton

Hello Tony,
Whilst Captivate does recognize different mouse clicks (in so
much as the application will capture a right-click menu) you cannot
specify what type of mouse effect the application will use when you
capture.
What you can do is change the mouse click effect post
capture. To do this and with a just captured project open carry out
these steps:
1. Select the slide that has a mouse pointer where you would
like need to show a right-click action.
2. Choose Slide > Mouse > Properties...
3. In the Mouse Properties dialog make sure that the option
"show mouse click" is selected and then show either the color or
the custom effect you would like to use to represent the
right-click operation.
Naturally, at the very start of your movie/project you would
need to inform the learner that each time they see the one of the
effect you want them to right-click. You could also include some
audio as well which would be important if you need to adhere to
accessibility standards.
In regard to your second question, in most cases you will
find that you get the best result if you adjust the mouse timing
using the Timeline.
That said if you own a copy of Adobe Captivate 2 you can
change the mouse Display and Appear After settings globally via the
Mouse Properties dialog. Personally, for mouse movement I would not
recommend this. Anyway here are the steps to carry that out.
1. Select any slide that has a mouse pointer present.
2. Choose Slide > Mouse > Properties...
3. Click the Timing tab
4. Change the Display time and Appear After values
5. Click the Settings button
6. Choose the appropriate options from both Which properties
and which slide categories
7. Click OK.
Note : You can also show the Mouse properties dialog by left
clicking on mouse icon on any of the slides in the Filmstrip

Mark

    I just created a new profile/user on my MacBook Pro. My pointer/mouse on my trackpad. It works fine in my older user profile, but when I go to the new profile my mac will not respond to clicks. The Mouse moves but will not click. Already tried restarting and the pram zap. The problem starts when I log out of my main profile. I get to the login screen and my laptop stops responding to clicks. When I manage to make my way back to my main profile the mouse works perfectly.  Should I just delete the new profile and try again?

    If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
    Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

    The clip follows my mouse movements and goes to other places in my time line.
    I try to delete these extra insertions, but the mouse will not release the clip.
    Action I’ve taken: I’ve re-installed Premiere Elements 13. Problem remains.
    This issue has consumed too much of my time and does not go away.  It ruins my video.
    Help please.

    I tried using the Guest Account on my Mac. In the Guest Account, Illustrator works perfect!
    Then I started wondering what processes (tools/tweaks) I run by default on my account. Turned out the problem was called by a little background tool called RightZoom. RightZoom let's the green 'zoom' button always maximize your current window.
    So thanks! Problem solved!

  • XY graph "mouse move" event stops generating when click on cursor

    Hello All
    When the mouse is moving freelly inside the XY graph control, the "mouse movement" event is fired.
    The same happens when muse clicks anywhere in the graph with the exception of cursors.
    hen mouse clicks on cursors the "mouse move" event is NOT generated even though the mouse is phisically moved.
    Is there any explanation to this.
    I enclose the example.
    regards
    Pawel

    Just today I had the same problem -> my solution:
    set event timeOut to some value(I have it at 1ms) then
    add to globalVariables some BOOL variable that will signal if mouse is down or up (set the flag in appropriate event),
    then add a case in the timeOut event which will read this
    global variable(flag) -> if it's TRUE then change the needed parameter.
    So even if the mouse move event isn't fired the main timeout event is.
    Not a perfect solution, but better than nothing.
    Peace
    Waldemar

  • Pages Crashes Mouse moves but can't click

    Anyone ever have this problem. My mouse stops being able to click. I can move it. And the keyboard seems to work. I can switch applications with apple tab and close them out. But pages never comes back. I have to reboot. This has happen two days in a row on my mac book air.
    thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    Are you getting the spinning color wheel when the mouse won't click? If so, it could just be that Pages is working. How long have you waited for Pages to "come back"? Depending on what Pages is trying to do, it could be awhile. I do think Pages & Numbers both take more time than they should sometimes, but, unfortunately, I'm not sure what to do about that.
    If waiting doesn't do it, it could be Pages has corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist, empty the Trash & then restart Pages. Another test is to see if Pages does this in another user account.
    The simple step of restarting your Mac can often clear up some issues as it clears some caches. You could also restart in Safe Mode (hold down the shift key after the "bong" until the grey Apple appears) then restart again normally. This will clear even more caches. While in Safe Mode, you can test Pages as well. Safe Mode will disable third-party add-ons & other non-essential system features (like my Magic Mouse! so I keep a wired mouse handy).

    After waking from sleep, my iMac (Lion) is unresponsive.  The mouse moves, but when I click things it won't open them.
    This has happened EVERY time the iMac goes to sleep for the last few days.. the only way I have found to resolve the issue is to manually restart the computer each time via the button on the back of the iMac.
    Any and all help is appreciated!
    Thanks

    FWIW, I never sleep my machines or their HDs, just their displays and never have an issue waking up the displays, usually run 24/7. Give that a shot.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Right-click down mouse-move gives no onMouseMove event in Safari on  Mac

    I am trying to detect on-mouse-event in JavaScript, when the mouse is moving while the right-button is down in Safari on Mac. But it seems the onmousemove event is not fired.
    Note: I am able to detect the mouse move combined with right mouse down on windows event FF on Mac.

    I figured that the form wasn't public, but I asked just in case.
    Yahoo in general is not very Mac-friendly, but still, what you are experiencing is not normal and must be very frustrating, especially when someone is looking over your shoulder (isn't that when computers act up the most?).
    Because the form works in Internet Explorer, the problem is not a general OS X problem, but if this is the only form that you have problems with in Safari, then my first guess is that the page the form is on is not written to the accepted standards for writing web pages. Safari is one of the least forgiving when it comes to bad or incorrect coding of web pages.
    If you have this problem on all or most forms, but things continue to work in Internet Explorer, then one thing I would try is to delete Safari's Preference file. I have seen all sorts of seemingly unrelated but Safari-specific problems arise when this file gets corrupted (which isn't often). The file is named com.apple.Safari.plist. Not all problems are caused by a bad preference file, so this procedure may not work.
    First quit Safari. You can copy the file name (com.apple.Safari.plist), click on the Spotlight icon in the upper right of your screen, and paste it in the search box. One entry should be found. If you click on "Show All" in the results window, a larger Spotlight window will appear and you can drag com.apple.Safari.plist to the Trash from that window. You will loose any changes you have made in Safari's Preferences and a new one will be created when you restart Safari.
    You might want to consider Firefox as an alternate browser. Internet Explorer is now longer being updated or developed and is now behind the times and renders many pages poorly.

  • Double Click Speed of the mouse

    hi,
    Can we increase the double click speed of the mouse using Java????
    Is there any API available in Java???????
    Any help please?????
    Thanks,
    Manikandan

    It may be possible, but most likely not. Double click speed should be platform dependent, like for windows, go to the control panel and then the mouse settings, you'll see that double click speed can be adjusted. So this probably isn't possible, just change it in your operating system's settings.

  • My track pad stopped accepting clicks.  I can move the mouse but clicks will not register.  Help!!!

    My track pad stopped accepting clicks.  I can move the mouse/cursor although clicking will not register with computer.  Any suggesstions?  HELP!

    If you configure the track pad to accept a double-tap = mouse click - do you still have the problem?
    I had a similar problem with white MacBooks - the mouse button just wouldn't work anymore - got worn out or something. I think that may be why Apple went with the whole trackpad being the mouse button. I never use that though. I much prefer the double tap.

  • How do I adjust double click speed in Mountain Lion. The mouse system preferences does not seem to have a speed slider for double clicking. Only the tracking speed slider is visible.

    Double clicking is no longer opening my folders.
    How can I adjust the double click speed in Mountain Lion to reduce the double clicking speed. The mouse system preferences does not seem to have a speed slider for double clicking. Only the tracking speed slider is visible.

    For 10.8.3,  it's in System Preferences > Accessiblity > highlight Mouse & trackpad on the left.  The Double click speed slider shows on the right.  Moving it to the left gives you more time between clicks.  Moving it right gives you less time.

  • Opinions about Mouse Movement Speed

    Hi !
    I'm experimenting with some Java gfx routines and so I want to code a tiny game, for that I need a small routine to get the current mouse movement speed. I tried this:
    myFrame.addMouseMotionListener(new MouseMotionListener() {
      public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent me) {
      if ((me.getX()!=320)||(me.getY()!=240)) {
        spdX = me.getX() - 320;
        spdY = me.getY() - 240;
         myRobot.mouseMove(320,240);
    });, but I'm not totally satisfied with this.
    a) you'll never get a zero movement with this one
    b) I don't know if this would work smooth
    Does anyone have any suggestions about this or maybe a link to some resources about that?
    thx in advance

        } catch(InterruptedException intex){intex.printStackTrace();}
        GfxLib.show();
        gr.dispose();
    }The GfxLib calls handle hardware-accelerated, doublebuffered fullscreen graphics, but this also works when drawing to a normal Component. obj is a simple textured shere that I want to draw onto the screen.
    Purpose: simply draw a rolling textured ball controlled by the mouse.

  • Hi all, my mac book pro boots up, but my track pad operation is strange, cannot click on anything, although it moves around screen ok. Cannot launch anything, nor close anything. Cannot get task bar to pop up either with the mouse movement.

    Hi All,
    My mac book pro 13". It boots ok and skype launches on boot up. connects to internet etc. However, whilst the mouse moves around the scren ok, used via the track pad, I cannot open anything, close anything, or get the task bar to pop up.
    I can close the laptop down via the power key, and can use some short cut keys, but the track pad operation is iffy, can you suggest how I rectify this.
    I have now solved this, for future reference, I have a magic track pad as well and that was connected via bluetooth and sitting else where in the house. It blocked the laptops trackpad operations. When disconnected, my laptop track pad works fine.
    Cheers

    I am using AS2 and what i want to do is display 6 differenht introduction message whenever my mouse move over 6 button respectively(named as btn1 to btn6),  what should i do? I am newbie in flash.
    My idea is putting as2 code under each button and whenever mouse rollover them , then call out movie clip of each sentence at certain place.
    Any help is welcome, i am curently quite confusing about this issue.

    Your idea should work just fine and is how some would approach it.
    Another approach would be to just make the text part of the Over state of the buttons.  That way you would not need any code to display the text since the button symbols have their states' code included with them.
