  • PGP Encryption support in SOA Suite 11g

    Hi,
Looking for PGP encryption support in SOA Suite 11g as we have a requirement to encrypt the file using PGP encryption and send over SFTP.
I already went through some of the forums posts but they are date back to 2007, so just wanted to confirm if there is anything in recent releases of SOA Suite.
    - FTP adapter support or
    - OWSM suppport.
As far as i know, we have to install some PGP tool and write a script to encrypt/decrypt and call the script from BPEL. this conclusion is based on a stmt given in the OWSM 10g book by sitaraman.
Please provide your insights on this.
    Thanks
    Siva

    Hi Siva,
I don't think still there is any support for PGP in Oracle SOA. You may use java for PGP encryption/decryption and transfer externally encoded messages over SFTP.

  • Shared execution context support in SOA Suite Products

    Context:
An enterprise application is likely to be made up of components that span across the BPEL, JEE (servlets and EJBs) and ESB containers with heterogeneous mix of technologies/computing languages (especially if part of that application is a legacy application), communication protocols, transport, QoS capabilities etc. The latter opens up a complex set of related issues such as assertion, ownership and enforcement of policies and contracts (both infrastructure-oriented such as security, privacy, manageability and business-oriented such as hours of business, goods return policies) that must be managed in order for the application to behave consistently end to end. In a way, this concept is similar to one of header vs payload distinction.
    Goal:
Yet those heterogeneous resources and technologies mentioned above should be abstracted (or externalized) from the business intent, ie the actual data and associated functional processing that deliver real benefits to business, as contextual information that may be both out-of-band and in-band (ie something that is created during the course of an interaction). In this way, the business components (BPEL scripts, presentation tier actions [as opposed to controllers], POJOs, or ESB mediation services implemented using XSLT scripts etc) can be reused in completely new unplanned scenarios with newer execution platforms/infrastructure since the latter can be made virtualized from the point of view of the business components.
To achieve the above, one of the key enabling factors is a shared execution context to capture such dynamic relationships between the application modules or components or services that is technology neutral but can be passed from one containers to the other seamlessly.
    Problem:
Having understood the context and goals, the big question is what is the level of support for a shared context implementation found in Oracle BPEL, JEE and ESB containers? Especially in the ESB container since it is the execution environment of all services.
This overarching problem may be decomposed to the following:
    * How far is loose coupling of services implemented? Strictly pure XML over HTTP or web services between tiers/containers?
    * If it is pure web services everywhere, what about the impedance mismatch problem between POJOs and XML?
    * If so, what is the form of a message dispatch/invocation framework to be put in place between tiers/containers? WSIF/AXIS? The choice will obviously be influenced by NFRs and to some extent the ease of integration of such frameworks with Oracle products runtime libraries.
    * How does a service lookup another, at design-time or run-time?
    * What mechanisms are there in each of the 3 containers above to allow for dynamic service assembly and dependencies injections?
    * How should a message be structured (header vs payload)?
    * How easy is the header or context that is most likely to be expressed in XML format be mapped to a run-time artifact in each of the containers? Is this mapping process lossless? This header is more than likely to carry a diverse range of information such as session and authentication tokens, management data, logs, audit trails, errors/exceptions and other QoS data.
In attempting to design and implement the above architectural requirements on Oracle SOA suite, I am unable to find any semblance of a design or runtime construct or artifact that is remotely close to what I would call a shared context. Should I conclude therefore that I would have to build the above facilities from ground up, instead of being able to customize a shared context construct or feature in Oracle SOA suite (the ESB container in particular)? I would have thought this is a fundamental capability of an integration platform such as Oracle SOA suite, am I right?

I supposed to make my previous question more concrete, the first answer I need before moving on to the rest of the bigger questions is this ...
What is Oracle’s recommendation for a services invocation framework between BPEL, JEE and ESB containers? From a quick read of Oracle Technet website, WSIF seem to be the preferred framework for this purpose. However, from an equally quick survey of such frameworks in use today outside of Oracle, WSIF does not seem to enjoy any widespread developer community support anymore and all talk in public forum seem to point to newer Apache Frameworks such as CXF which support emerging standards such as JAX-WS 2.0 What is the current stand of Oracle with respect to this matter?

  • Which UDDI is supported by SOA suite 11g ?

We like to use an UDDI in combination with Oracle SOA suite 11g.
Can anybody tell us which UDDI´s are supported by Oracle.
We know of Oracle Service Registry, but it isnot an option for us.
Thanks in advance for answering this question.
    Kind regards,
    Albert Ellen

    Edwin,
I do see where you are coming from. I am afraid, though, that SOA Suite 11g and JDeveloper 11g are certified only with the Oracle Service Registry, which is downloadable free from OTN if you want to give it a spin - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/soa/registry/index.html .
If you must use other registries, you might want to raise a request with Support with your requirement for certification of other registries in SOA Suite and/or JDeveloper, so an enhancement request can be raised accordingly.
I do realise this doesnt answer your question directly, but hope it does throw some light on how this can be taken forward.

  • Oracle SOA Suite DB Adapter with BPEL

    Hi All,
I am using an inbound DB Adapter to poll a tabe and fetch any new inserted records.
    My implemented flow
DBAdapter (Reads Data from database) > BPEL Process
In my table i have a status column which needs to be updated if the record fetched is successfully processed by the BPEL.
In the adapter configuration wizard i have the selected "Update Field in Table (Logical Delete) "
This works fine for successful processing but i dont have any idea on how to avoid the updation of the status column if the BPEL throws an exception.
Can anyone please help me on this asap as i need to implement this in my project.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sachin

that is either make the read op in the bpel service sync or set the invocation mode on the "partner link" to sync.

  • SOA suite: configure a new oc4j container, licensing and support

    Hi
We have a SOA suite installation (10.1.3.4).
Default installation is containing a OC4J_SOA running the esb, bpel etc.
Now we have a java ear (java web service), and would like to deploy this to a dedicated oc4j container.
So we want to configure a new oc4j instance named oc4j_jws.
Actually, we have already done this, and it is looking good.
Now I only want to make sure the configuration of a new oc4j container is not violating any licensing and support agreements.
    We have soa suite license.
I believe a soa suite license allows for configuration of additional oc4j containers.

The adding of oc4j instances is at least well documented within the Oracle Application Server Administrator's Guide:

    Hello,
Is the latest OSB available as SCA Component in Jdeveloper ? If we want to develop services in OSB, should we use the browser or we have eclipse support for the latest release.
Looks like now we can use the same version of weblogic server 10.3.3 to host both SOA suite 11g 11.1.1.3 and Oracle Service Bus 11.1.1.3. I believe we need two different domains (1 for SOA Suite and another for Oracle Service Bus).
    Kindly confirm.

  • Should be Oracle database bin path in PATH BEFORE Soa Suite bin path ?

On my local computer I installed Oracle Database 10g Express AND Soa Suite.
Hence the PATH environment variable contains (among others) two pathes: one for Soa Suite and one for database 10g.e.g.:
    Path=D:\soa\v10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\jdk\bin;D:\soa\v10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\ant\bin;D:\soa\v10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\bin;D:\db\Oracle\app\oracle\produc
    t\10.2.0\server\bin;......other.....
Which element should be written/taken at first?
When I leave it as above I have problems with some commands (e.g. tnsping) because is taken from the first occurence (= Soa Suite) and is not working properly.
Is it causing problems in Soa Suite if I switch "D:\db\Oracle\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\bin"
to the first position in PATH variable?

I found the solution, if anyone has the same error, here is the solution:
The cause of an error was improper configuration of the host. The ping returned two different IP addresses:
    oas@myhost $ ping -a myhost
    myhost (333.333.333.333) is alive
    oas@myhost $ ping -a myhost.domain.com
    myhost.domain.com (555.555.555.555) is alive
I removed the wrong IP address for myhost.domain.com in /etc/inet/ipnodes:
    [email protected] # cat /etc/inet/ipnodes
    # Internet host table
    ::1 localhost
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    555.555.555.555 myhost.domain.com loghost
    Now the ping is correct:
    oas@myhost $ ping -a myhost
    myhost (333.333.333.333) is alive
    oas@myhost $ ping -a myhost.domain.com
    myhost.domain.com (333.333.333.333)) is alive
    Now installation finished successfully.

  • Installation of 11g SOA Suite

    Hello All,
    I have installed the
    ORacle 11g DB
    RCU to create schema
    Oracle 11g SOA suite
Two Domains for BAM and SOA suite (without) selecting the Admin Option as referred in QUick install guide.
I have query on these two weblogic domains as both of them have the same port 7001, how can I run both the domains ?
Have you found the .xml files as mentioned in page no. 49. of the guide ?

    Hello Baskar,
I did refer Quick installation while installing and followed the steps, hence created two domains with the understanding that BAM component probably needs a separate domain (BEA) as it could be bit heavy weight component.
I believe if BAM, SOA and EM can run in a single domain, even now it is NOT too late, there is a option to configure domain and I will use the SOA domain create to check the BAM component also into it and start only this domain. But the quick installation guide seems to have a conflicting guidance steps.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/install.1111/e14318/qisoa.htm
Refer the Installation Guide and the steps for configuring BAM and configuring SOA, they had been given in two step activity with different domains.

  • Single SOA Suite Install with multiple oc4j instances and java processes

We right now have 5 BPEL processes and 5 ESB processes all running under one java.exe process. We would like to seperate some of
them out into their own java.exe processes without having to install more
%ORACLE_HOME% instances of SOA Suite. I can create an oc4j instance but of
course it doesn't have any SOA Suite stuff deployed to it. I tried to see what
the install would do with this new oc4j instance but it wants to create a new
%ORACLE_HOME% with an entire installation of SOA Suite.
Is there some sort of way to clone oc4j instances that have SOA Suite deployed to them so that you
    don't need multiple %ORACLE_HOME% instances?
    ### How is this Issue Impacting Your Business ###
We really don't want to have a lot of %ORACLE_HOME% instances to have to maintain. We are
migrating projects over from our current integration server product and we'll
have potentially dozens more BPEL and ESB projects. We definitely want to
group and isolate projects so that outages of one project do not bring down
    others that are unrelated.
We are currently experiencing periodic problems with one BPEL project that requires recycling but all the other BPEL and ESB
projects get recycled also. If we could put this project into it's own java
process without creating another SOA SUITE instance, it would be a big
    help.
    ANSWER
    =======
You can create multiple domains in BPEL or create multiple systems/groups in ESB to group different projects.
    MY REPLY:
    =========
We have been using systems/groups in ESB but they all run under the save java.exe process. I would assume that having a seperate domain in BPEL would also run in that same java.exe process.
Right now, the one BPEL project we have a problem with will gobble up all the JDBC connections from time to time and that requires a recycle of SOA Suite, which means all BPEL and ESB projects that run in that java.exe process get recycled also. We're working that issue in a different ticket.
It would be nice if the SOA Suite installation would install against a new oc4j instance and not assume it has to create a complete %ORACLE_HOME% instance. The components of SOA Suite seem to be J2EE based components.
Scenario: I already have an oc4j instance called oc4j_soa and a complete %ORACLE_HOME% installation of soa suite. I then create a new oc4j instance from Enterprise Manager. Then I would deploy the esb-dt, esb-rt, orabpel, etc. components of SOA Suite to that new oc4j instance and modify the necessary config file so that it can work with OHS and the SOA Suite Databases. Is this possible?
Does anyone have any experience with this or do people typically install multiple complete installation of SOA Suite with mulitple Oracle Homes?

    Hi,
yes, on metalink you get in touch with real experts....
You have to install serveral application servers to get different ORACLE_HOMEs.
For each one, you can install a BPEL PM.
But: For each BPEL PM you need your own database instance, or you have to configure them as a clustered BPEL installation.... (but i do not know if this work with non RAC DBs)

  • Not able to integrate SOA Suite with EBS using Oracle APPS Adapter

    Hi,
We need to listen to outbound business events of Oracle EBS using BES via Oracle APPS Adapter.
We have created a composite containing Oracle Application Adapter and BPEL Process.
In Apps adapter when configured Outbound Business events "oracle.apps.bom.component.modified" using Dequeue Operation,a corresponding subscriber is created in WF_BPEL_Q for respective event selected.
    In Oracle EBS
for "oracle.apps.bom.component.modified" status is enabled and in subscription WF_BPEL_QAGENT is there.
When we are changing any BOM component in Oracle EBS Designer and saving it, a record is being created in "WF_BPEL_QTAB".
BPEL Process( Oracle Apps Adapter Partner Link---> Recieve Actvity ) instances are not being created when any BOM component is being changed.
Oracle Apps Adapter is not able to dequeue the data from WF_BPEL_QTAB.
There is not any error/exception in oracle soa suite server logs for Oracle APPS adapter.

We would like to capture a few business events in oracle BOM and PO that are of interest to us. In order to do this,
we deploy oracle SOA composite with BEPL in the Oracle Fusion Middleware Control. The oracle SOA composite is configured for a particular outbound business event. It should listens on a specific queue WF_BPEL_Q or WF_BPEL_QTAB and de-queues the messages from that Oracle Queue or Oracle AQ Table. In jDeveloper 11g we created a SOA project with oracle applications adapter partner link and a receive.
Specifically we are trying to capture the business outbound event oracle.apps.bom.component.modified just to get the event data in this receive.
Partner link configuration: We added the database connection to the oracle EBS instance. Tested it and we
succeded. Chose ANY_SCHEMA in partner link configuration.
We ensured that the JNDI Name here( eis/Apps/Apps ) match the JNDI name provided in the weblogic-->Deployments--
OracleAppsAdapter -->Configuration --> Outbound Connection Pools. For this outbound resource pool, Connection factory interface was javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory. Property name xADataSourceName was mapped to JNDI name of the configured JDBC datasource in the weblogic. When we created the connection pool. We tested and it worked fine. This data source had the connection pool configured to the oracle applications schema with APPS user.
After adding the partner link with the above configuration, we added a receive. We deployed this configuration to the middleware. We went to the oracle EBS modified a BOM component and we expected to having running BPEL instances against the deloyed composite. However, the problem is we are not having any running instance for the composite.
We found that there are entries in the view AQ$WF_BPEL_QTAB with an ENQ_TIME and ENQ_TIMESTAMP but with no DEQ_TIME or DEQ_TIMESTAMP. The ENQ_TIMESTAMP corresponds to the time we modified BOM in oracle BOM forms/Designer
The data is being written in WF_BPEL_QTAB for the BOM changes but not being dequeued by oracle applications adapter/composites deployed in soa server.
Please help me it quite urgent.
Is there anything we are missing on EBS side to be activited. for the events to be dequeued
    Any Help is appreciated.

  • Integration with PeopleSoft Applications Using Oracle SOA Suite 11g BPEL

    Hi,
I'm integrating BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 Application on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 11g. The BPEL invokes the web service method generated from Peoplesoft Component Interface in a synchronuos manner.
I have deployed the BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper successfully but I have problem in configuring the BPEL node in Peoplesoft side using Oracle SOA Suite 11g(FMW) . I had done the integration of BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 10g earlier successfully by configuring BPEL node properties as follows:
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:8888/BPELConsole (System with Oracle SOA Suite 10g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
Using this BPEL node configuration, I was able to ping the BPEL console of Oracle SOA Suite 10g from peoplesoft and hence complete the integration successfully.
Now in order to acomplish Business rules and other functionality, the BPEL application has been developed in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper 11g. This time I'm not able to configure the BPEL node in Peoplesoft for this integration as I'm assuming there is no separate BPEL console in Oracle SOA Suite 11g. All the BPEL deployments are administered in console (11g console used for deployment of BEPL)
http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server - Fusion Middleware).
So when I Configured the BPEL node property in Peoplesoft as :
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
I'm not able to ping the Peoplesoft BPEL node to the Oracle SOA Suite 11g. Hence I'm not able to proceed with my integration.
When I searched the OTN discussion forum on BPEL console for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, all threads point that there is no separate BPEL console unlike Oracle SOA Suite 10g. Also most of the articles for Integration with Peoplesoft Application using SOA 11g do not state any specific configuration setting for property of Peoplesoft BPEL node in order to integrate with BPEL 11g. The examples published in OTN still point towards screen shots of integration using SOA Suite 10g.
So I'm not able to proceed in this regard.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Girish

    typo error

    Hi,
I found this document from the Oracle Open World 2009 (maybe you have found it too) :
"Integration with PeopleSoft applications using oracle soa suite 11g BPEL" --> [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/peoplesoft/pdf/oow2009-bpel-psft.pdf]
And this could be a little more simple, but have a good step-by-step tutorial.
I think you must read this docs by now, but never come amiss.
    Hope this can help you,
By the way, if you can help me with this I'll appreciate it a lot.

  • Importing CRM On Demand Environment Certificates on SOA Suite.

    Hi All,
I am trying to invoke CRM On Demand Environment Web Services from a SOA Suite.
Normally for CRM On Demand Environment you will need to import a Certificate as it is an external Environment hosted by Oracle.
I am able to do add the certificate on the server using the keytool and create Identity and Trust, but when I try to invoke SOA Process invoking the CRM OD Web Service, the SOA Process fails
Has anyone tried importing CRM OD Certificates in the SOA Suite.
