Different operations of the iPhone between networks

So I have a question or three.  The version of iPhone from AT&T has specific apps that differ from those available on the Android OS.  There are subtle differences between the networks as well.  How will this new Verizon iPhone differ from what ATT has offered?  Will it use the android OS and therfore be able to use those apps?  Will you be able to personalize this iPhone like other phones?  Will you be forced to use iTunes and other specific apps to the phone or will you be able to use something else.  I am just trying to figure out what advantages having the iPhone through Verizon will have for consumers other than the claim of "I have an iPhone'?

the iphone does not use android, its ios, apple
you must use itunes
you cannot customize
its basically the same phone tht att has, but with a diff radio(vzw is cdma, att is gsm)
all apps come from the app store
the advantage of verizon is the network

Why can't I update my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1? Every time I try it gets all the way done downloading it; however when it's processing the file the page tells me "There is a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. or try again later." and next to the file it has err = -3259. I have tried this 17 times and it won't work. My iTunes is completely up to date. I have made sure that my connection is fine and I have tried turning my firewall off with no avail. This has happened to me before but usually the update will go through after 2-3 tries, never to this extent. I don't know what to do. Help!

Error -3259 is a network timeout error, usually. This article might help:

  • Connect to Exchange 2013 on local network from a different domain on the same local network.

Hi we have domain a and domain b both on the same local networks using the same ip subnet.
domain a is Small Business server 2003
doimain b is Windows 2008 and Exchange 2013
How can I set this up so that client logging into domain a using Windows XP or Windows 7 can set up an exchange profile on Office 2010 to log into domain b running exchange 2013.  I need to know how to set up the autodiscover (i think) or how to enter
the server settings manually on the Outlook 2010 client (on domain a).  My understanding is that Outlook Anywhere means I can set up a profile "anywhere" even on the same local network segment as the exchange 2013 server.
    thanks

Let me explain the way i understood
    Domain A - domainA.mail.com
    Domain B - domainB.mail.com
To have common autodiscover record for the both the domain
Step 1: Create autodiscover record having the name of parent domain - e.g Autodiscover.mail.com
Step 2: Add this name in your Exchange certificate
Step 3: Create Host record for domainA.mail.com and domainB.mail.com
Step 4: Install IIS on a Windows server ensure you choose HTTP Redirection
    Step 5 :Create a folder C:\inetpub\wwwroot\autodiscover add a blank file called autodiscover.xml
Step 6: Create a new virtual directory called ‘autodiscover’.
Step 7: Select this new virtual directory > click on Content View > Right click on autodiscover.xml > Select ‘Switch to Features View’
Step 8: Double click on HTTP Redirect
Step 9: Change the HTTP Redirect settings to https://autodiscover.mail.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml
Step 9: Right click on Default Web Site > click on Edit Bindings - Add domainA.mail.com and domainb.mail.com in the http bindings
How it works: Autodiscover uses http redirection in which it get redirected to the respective domain to the autodiscover record

  • How to config. different Operations of the same Interface to different BPM

    Hi Gurus
I have a very urgent problem.
       The requirement is like this:
Customer creates an invoice in A1S and release it. Information of the invoice is retrieved via two service interfaces:
            CustomerInvoiceProcessingInvoiceAccountingOut
            CustomerInvoiceProcessingReceivablesPayablesOut
            with operation NotifyOfInvoice;
These two interfaces will transfer the information into XI and the information will be filled into a BAPI, BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_A1S, to R3. Then the finacial document together with the invoice will be created in the R3.
when customer cancels the invoice in A1S, Information of the cancellation is retrieved via the same two service interfaces:
            CustomerInvoiceProcessingInvoiceAccountingOut
            CustomerInvoiceProcessingReceivablesPayablesOut
            with operation NotifyOfInvoiceCancellation;
These two interfaces will transfer the information into XI and the information will be filled into a BAPI, BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_REV_POST, to R3. Then the reverse finacial document will be created in R3.
        My solution is like this:
        1. for invoice creation:
Both messages sent to BPM_1, then send to R3.  3 interface determinations are needed for 3 abstract interfaces.
        2. for invoice cancellation:
Both messages sent to BPM_2, then send to R3. 3 interface determinations are needed for 3 abstract interfaces.
        My problem is this:
No matter during creation or cancellation, the same interfaces are triggered. The related receiver determination will distribute the information to both of two BPMs. However the information only contains data of one operaton: creation or cancellation. Error messages will appear in monitor for the other BPM. For example, when customer creates an invoice, the information only contains data of creation whereas it is sent to two BPMs via the receiver determination. the BPM for cancellation surely can not deal with this information then error appears.
My question is : how can i solve the problem? How can i avoid the appearance of the error? thanks

    Hi,
In the receiver determination you can route the message to the RIGHT BPM according to the content of the payload. So each time only one BPM is called.

  • Different signatures on the iPhone-

    Dear Sir or Madam,
I have to make different signatures on both private and work e-mail boxes on my iPhone.
    Is there a solution?
    How can I do this?
    Thank you in advance!

iOS 6 is supposed to allow this, will be available on September 19th.

  • What's the difference between "network upgrade" and FiOS?

I've been refusing to switch to FiOS because they tell me the cost will be so much lower for the next 12 months, but they won't tell me anything about what it will cost after that. I expect to live much longer than the next 12 months, and I want to know, for instance, will it still be cheaper than a copper loop after the 12 months?
I recently got a letter saying from Verizon saying they're sorry if I've been inconvenienced by the "landline service issues in [my] area" (I have not) and they "need to transition" my copper loop to fiber optics. They're asking me to schedule an appointment. My bill will not change (thank you for that much information).
Question 1: Will I get the same technology as FiOS? For instance, optional high capacity digital services?
Question 2: Will I get the same service as on copper? For instance, fax reliability. I know I will have to supply power.
Question 3: Do I have a choice? For instance, what will happen if I don't schedule an appointment?

Moving from standard phone service to Digital Voice offers many benefits.
    1.  More features and functionailty.  FIOS Digital Voice comes with many features such as simultaneous ring, forwarding, call logs, do not disturb etc.  If the phone service should go out there is a back up number that can be set (for example a cell phone) which all calls will go to.  Other features are config voice mail, if you have Fios TV you will get Caller ID on the TV.  There are others features I have not listed.
    2.  The taxes associated with Digital Voice is much less than with POTS line.
    3.  If bundled with other FIOS services there are significant savings.
    4.  Digial Voice offers a better quality phone line with FIOS Fiber Optics vs. the old copper lines.  Faxing works fine, I know I fax a few times a month without issue.
    5.  Digital Voice does require some equipment to be installed in your home and thus power is required to be provided to this device.  There is a battery backup that comes with it and thus you can get about 8 hours of backup time.  After that the phone will stop working.  There is the ability to set a back up number in case of service distruption which will send all calls to a designated number.

  • If the iPhone is in a different country and the iPhone is left on Airplane mode, could one use iMessage through wifi connection?

    Out of country use help!!

Keep in mind, though- you will only be able to use iMessage to other iOS 5 users.  Without a cellular connection, you will not be able to send or recieve texts from any other number/user.

When I try to sync my iPhone, I get the message: The iPhone cannot be synced. You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation.
The iPhone won't sync anymore.  How can I fix this?

This works even for my ipod on my computer. I recently time machined myself and when i open intunes it always does all that backgroud magic and  pops up saying "....You do not have enough access priveleges for this operation."
It turns out i don't need that, because i do not use sync. I do not sync. I don't use the sync. I abstain from getting my sync on...etc.
The first solution posted above works, i'll repeat it but  credit goes to King_Penguin a true friend from the motherland! Just find this one file and delete it.

  • How many different email accounts can I put on the iPhone?

I was wondering how many different email accounts the iphone can handle?

Cant say the exact amount but my iphone handles 6 various accounts with no problems. Understand if you have all them accounts checking email every 15 mins then it will drain a large amount of battery. you can get around this by mail forwarding to just one account it will save battery trust me. All the large email account providers Gmail, Hotmail etc all have this feature now available.

  • Why doesn't T-Mobile have the iPhone?

I want an iPhone, but T-Mobile dosen't carry it. Why is this? Will they ever?

Why don't they have it? T-Mobile's CEO has publicly stated that it's because they use a non-standard frequency range for their 3G network in the US. The iPhone is not compatible with the T-Mobile 3G network in the US. Until and unless they change their network or Apple decides to use a different chipset in the iPhone (Apple has given no indication they intend to do this), the iPhone will never come to their network in the US.

  • What is the difference between Data Warehousing and Big Data?

What is the difference between Big Data and
Data Warehousing? are they the same? similar? if no, then when to use each of them?
Any link to a paper that describes the difference?!

Big Data is a term applied to data sets whose size is beyond the ability of commonly used tools to capture, manage and process the data within a tolerable elapsed time. But Data-warehouse is a collection of data marts representing historical data from different
    operations in the company.
It means Big Data is collection of large data in a particular manner but Data-warehouse collect data from different department of a organization. However Data-warehouse require efficient managing technique. Conceptually these are same only at one factor that
they collect large amount of information
For Big Data - You can start researching on HDInsight and for Datawarehouse check MSBI

  • What happened to the iPhone Configuration Utility?

There used to be about five different versions of the iPhone Configuration Utility available on the apple.com site.  Now there is only one and it's just a MAC install.  Anyone know where the Windows installs went?

I think there are other brands that can do more than compete.
Depends what you compare them against. If it is pure hardware technical specification, then yes, there are other phones on the market that exceed the technical specifications of almost every individual iPhone feature.
However, Apple is not a purely hardware company. They spend at least as long, if not longer, on the software that runs on this hardware. And it is that combination of hardware and software that keeps Apple ahead.
What's the point in the most technologically advanced phone ever made, if the software to use it (user interface and operating system) is an absolute pig to use.
I'm lucky that I get to see and play around with most new phones that come out, including all the so-called "iPhone Killers" from Sony Ericsson, Nokia, HTC etc. etc.
So far, not one of them (despite having better technical specs in many cases) beats the iPhone in terms of the overall user experience - how easy, intuitive, seamless, slick and just plain enjoyable - the phones are to use.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia phones look great on paper and in the hand, but they are so annoying to use!! Unintuitive, sluggish, clunky. It's almost as though the software that runs these great bits of hardware is an afterthought, just done in the last few weeks before sale.

  • Is the iPhone 4 a world phone?

I have an iPhone for and I'm on a local network in Canada (Rogers). I'm travelling to the UK and would like to know if my phone will roam in the UK, or am I bound to wi-fi access only? I don't understand what other posts here are talking about when they mention CDMA, or how to tell if my phone is GSM.
    Thanks, Apple peeps!

    Hello Sanderella,
I assume you are speaking of the iPhone 4 and not the 4s, as the title suggest. In the case of the iPhone 4, read the following:
The iPhone 4 on the ATT network is a GSM phone. The iPhone 4 on the Verizon network is a CDMA phone. If you have an ATT iPhone then the answer is yes. If you have a Verizon iPhone, well then you are out of luck, for ATT works off the GSM as does most of the rest of the world, thus allowing it to work as a "world phone".
According to the an FCC filing reported by TUAW (posted Jun 7th 2010), the iPhone 4 antenna pentaband antenna/chipset allows it to operate on the GSM and supports the 900 MHz UMTS/HSDPA. This will allow users who go over seas to have "access to extended 3G networks" over different fequenies allowing the iPhone to connect to "virtually any GSM 3G network in the world"
Full story in the link. Hope this is help full.
