How can I use two different page orientations in the same document?

I am trying to have both portrait and landscape page orientations in the same document. Pages doesn't seem to like this. Is there a way?

I tried to comment on another thread about this same issue, but the thread was closed.
In the other thread; however, some asked why rotating one pages was necessary, and if they knew then maybe there would be reason to create the function.
Well, I don't know about why anyone else needs it, but for me it's for the papers I have to write for my masters program. The professors like to have the rubric attached to the bottome of the document so they easily grade and keep things organized. They of course give directions on how to easily change the orientation of the last page in Word, but not all of use Word, or even want to use Word. Maybe I need to ditch Pages and go to Word? I'd really hate to do that!
So, come on Apple, let's get this feature added, stat!

Different Page Orientation in Single Report

i am using Crystal Report XI Release 2.
I am creating a report. First page i want to use Portrait Orientation and all remaining pages should have landscape.
First page is cover letter which should only be in Portrait. I tried making this as sub-report, but when i change subreport's orientation, it changes the main reports orientation.

I've just finished rehashing a report that has required a change from Portrait to Landscape, which I havent' been able to do until getting Crystal 2008... Phew!... Or so I thought...
While editing, the print preview shows me exactly what I want to see... seamless transition from Portrait to Landscape pages.
But once I load the report back into my database and generate it, Crystal seems to change its mind about the changing orientations, and completely ignores the call for Landscape from the second page onwards.
Do you have a suggestion to solve this problem?

Different page orientation in new section?

I have a Word document I'd rather do in Pages, so I am recreating it. I need to have the first section in vertical orientation, and the second section in landscape (horizontal). Is there a way to do this? When I ask for a new section and change the page layout, it changes the whole document.

I agree in some ways that you shouldn't change the good parts, but disagree on the point that if an outside idea is a good one it should not matter where it has been used.
All programs have their faults and IMHO Pages has a disproportionate share, to the point I really find it difficult to use productively for almost any kind of work.
I storm through work with iText Pro where I trundle in Pages. That is despite iText Pro having a relatively clumsy method of implementing and applying styles, and lacks floating objects.
On more than one occasion I have tried to use Pages for serious work only to founder on one or more fatal stumbling blocks, despite having steadfastly ignored its maimed User Interface. You can't accuse me of not knowing the program.
In the end there is its doomed .pdf output to put the nail into the coffin of any real work I might do.
It holds a tantalising glimpse of what it could be however, and there is always the next version and the next version to inspire hope.

Different page orientation in same report!

As in Microsoft Word I am trying to customize a mail merge totally in Crystal Reports using Access as the data engine. Can Crystal have a cover letter, with merge fields, from Access as portrait orientation (page 1) and then all subsequent pages in landscape orientation (recipients data pages). In summary I need Crystal to be able to have page 1 as portrait and all other pages as landscape within the same report. This answer is dependent on whether I purchase Crystal Reports.

Different Page Orientation

Hi Folks,
I have a form, a PO Output, that I have written in Adobe Forms, it is nearly finished apart from one last requirement.
I have the form in Landscape format, the data should create as many pages as it needs to output the data in landscape format. When it is finished outputting the data, the last page it should print is a terms and conditions page in portrait format.
I have been able to set the two page formats, however, the first page prints correctly in landscape, but then all subsequent pages print in portrait, how do I set it so that only the last page prints in portrait?

Hello Colm,
Create two master pages, say Page1 and Page2, and create two body pages, say BP1 and BP2. Place the PO data subform on BP1 and Place the terms and conditions on BP2. As soon as all the data gets printed, in the last page, terms and conditions get printed. If you need to terms and conditions on the back side of the last page, please let me know.

Dynamic Page Orientation in Reports 6i

I have the following requirement. I need to print a letter that contains an attachment. The letter is two pages long and the page size letter and orientation is portrait. The attachment is legal but the orientation is landscape. So what it essentially means is that I need to change the orientation between pages. The letter is a separate repeating frame that the attachment, they are at the same level. I have set the main layout section to H=11 and W=8.5. When I layout the attachment in the layout editor and run the report I get error that the body is outside the frame etc... Meaning the size of the attachment is outside the page. I can define a different page size in the Trailer Section and it works fine if I am only printing one letter, If I enter parameters to print multiple letters, ie. from Customer A to C I get Letter A followed by letter B then Letter C then the three attachments. Problem is the letters go to a folding machine and need to be in order. I know I can do it by using text fields that contain the field name prefaced with and ampersand and then rotate the text field accordingly but this seems very cumbersome. Does anyone know of a better way to essentially create a single report that has different page orientations from page to page. Thanks in advance for any insights. Phil

in 6i we only support one page size per report. in 9i/10g we allow for different pagesize settings for the three sections of a report.

Is is possible to combine multiple page orientations in a single document (Pages '09 v4.1)?

I'm trying to write a document with differing page orientations (landscape, portrait) for individual pages. This has *LONG* been a feature in Word but I can't figure out how to do it in Pages '09. What am I missing?

I did search and did find that answer in the forums. However, using another application to manipulate the final product is not the solution in the native app that I am seeking. I want to be able to have the editable document open and see the layout on the differing pages while writing. I suppose you are correct and this is a personal opinion/desire for this feature. However, I do not think it is too much to expect if Apple wants people to be convinced to use their iWork suite instead of MS Office.

Calling different pages in smartforms

Dear Friends,
I need one solution in smartforms, i need to print the different labels in my smartform. For example i have to print three labels
and one normal layout. Three labels means having some fixed data of three rows maximum and these labels repetatively i need to print based on some conditions those conditions i am doing in driver program itself.
For example assume first label i need to print 2 times,second 2 times and third 14 times then final layout contains header and items section as usual.
So here in the first page only i need to print first label then i have to call the new page to print second label then i have to call the
new page to print third label as there are 14 labels in third page i have to print 9 labels and in the fourth page i have to print remaining 5 labels and i need to call new page to print the last section, the last section is like normal layout there mainwindow and everything is there.
Please help me to handle this scenario.

This approach to make call from SAPscript. Its concept is similar to make call to a subroutine in another program. I would presume you understand how to use USING and CHANGING parameter. =)

According to me, you have to create 2 smartforms, one in DINA4 and other in LETTER format.
In your driver program, you have to maintain condtion depending on country code.
if country code = 'ZA12'.
call fm <--- DINA4 format
else.
call fm <--- LETTER format

Smartforms: Creating main windows in different pages

Hi all!
I am using smart forms, I tried to create 2 main windows in 2 different pages. I keep getting the following error: "Two main windows are not allowed." However, I have already seen an example where there are 2 main windows created in 2 different pages. Does anyone know of you how to solve this?

Hi Hajar,
   You cannot have two main windows. But the main window can be associated to as many different pages that you want.
   Check the program where you saw that the code inside the MAIN window is same. They have actually associated the window with the page. This is what termed as page-window.
   Give feedback.

With onli one form u cannot achieve this.. but u need to have two same forms .. one with Landscape orientation.. and second with Portrait orientation...
( Otherwise u can go for the SMARTFORMS , with smartforms u can achieve this in a single form )
There is a way to have first page in landscape and second page in portrait.

How to create a report with different page sizes

Hi,
I would like to create a report with different page sizes, it's possible to do it with diadem?
When I change the layout parameters, changes afect to all sheets...
Is there a way to change page size individually for each sheet?

Hi Marc,
You can use the DocStart and DocEnd commands along with the PicPrint command to spool multiple print commands to the same output PDF file using the direct printer approach. This should enable you to programmatically specify the page size differently for each sheet that you add to the print job.

Page break for Smartform with multiple main window on pages

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement for printing 3 pages. The difference among the 3 pages is the main window part.
The main window contains not only internal table, also complicated texts like payment instructions etc.
The requirement is in each page, the data in internal table should be changed, also payment instruction should be changed accordingly.
e.g:
Main Window of Page 1
Part 1 for Internal table
VAT on ITEM ------- 4O-------60,00------0.00%-------EUR
Part 2 for Payment Instructions
Texts for Page 1
Main Window of Page 2

At first, I was using only one page 'Page1' with a variable page_no = 1 as default value, and use program line page_no = page_no + 1 as counter. when page_no = 2, use command for force page break to 'Page1', then under the command, change the internal table and payment instruction texts. when page_no = 3, ...
But I encountered an error saying:
Runtime Errors GEN_BRANCHOFFSET_LIMIT_REACHED

So I created 3 pages, with different main window M_window1, M_window2, M_window3 for each page. In page1, after printing the M_window1, page_no = 2, use command to go to page2, but page2 is never printed. I think this is because only one main window can exist in a smartform? but why smartform allows creating individual main window for different pages? what's the use of such main window?
By the way, what's the use of command for force page break? only work for one main window in a smartform?
Getting back to my requirement, I think I should still use one page and command for page break. I am trying to solve this.

Now I am using 3 pages: Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.
Page 2, Page 3 are copies of Page 1 with main window renamed as second window: mw 2, mw 3.
I also created 2 command nodes in main window of page 1: cmd 2, cmd 3.
cmd 2 is for page break to Page 2, cmd 3 is for page break to Page 3.
The second window mw 2, mw 3 in Page 2, Page 3 can be displayed.
Even though, I still can't understand how main window of pages (not 1st page) can work.
