Different playlists saving position where i paused at

Hey there, i have this problem with my iPod touch but it seems to me that it's an iOS problem as a whole.
Basically, i have like 30 playlists and i would like to listen to each of them from time to time. AND i want the device to remember the place i stopped at - like, if i went to song 30 in playlist 1 and then started playlist 2 and played it to song 21, then i wanna be able to come back to playlist 1 and play from the 30-th song and on. Is there an app that allows to do that? Am I missing something? Are they gonna implement it?
Cause i mess with audiobooks sometimes and it's annoying.
Other minor thing - if you like add another playlist to the device, you will lose a position inside a song. So let's say you got to song 30 at 2.34 in playlist 1 and then you added playlist 2 to the device - when you try to resume, it would start playing from 0:00 of song 30. That's annoying too...
Any help, tips appreciated.

The destination of downloads is now remembered on a site-by-site basis. This data can be accessed using DownloadLastDir.jsm. In other words, Firefox team made it so that it won't save to your last save directory.
So all the files you want to download come from a single thread on cats, if the website uploads all those cat files to different servers ie. bee.imas.com and dog.imas.com and pants.imas.com then FF7.0+ will treat them as different websites and will require you to manually switch directories.
The old way is better where it only remembers where you last saved your file. Ctrl-J only list the domain. ie. imas.com and not where you saved the pictures unless you manually Open containing folder.
I hope they revert this in 7.02 as otherwise I'll have to rollback to a memory intensive version.

  • Playlist Song Position in Memory ipod 7th generation

I recently purchased a 7th generation ipod upgrading from a 4th generation which I had for several years.  With my 4th generation ipod I would frequently listen to a playlist at work in shuffle mode that would have over a 1,000 songs.  This could take about 14 days to completely listen to the entire playlist.  If I didn't use the ipod for 3 or 4 days and then want to continue the playlist exactly where I left off, there was no problem.
I've noticed that with my 7th generation ipod, this isn't the case.  If I pause a playlist then start it again several days later, the last song that I listened to is ready to play but the playlist starts all over again and treats that song as song 1.  However, if I don't wait several days and want to listen to the playlist the next day, the playlist picks up right where it left off.
My question is this:  how long does the 7th generation ipod hold a playlist song position in memory?  Is there a work around to hold it in memory indefinitely?
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • Importing; tracks are in different playlists

I have imported a CD where the track names were not available from the store. I have typed in all the information, - titles in Greek - but I find the tracks in separate/different playlists. Each playlist contains the tracks of each separate Greek alphabet letter, and then not in track number order either, but alphabetical. I have checked the information is the same (eg disk 2 of two) etc, and find no differences. It appears the first letter of the track name creates the new playlist. I would like them all in one playlist, in the order they were on the CD I imported from.

When I import several CDs and then merge those imported tracks into one iTunes album it often makes a mess. I merge the imported CDs by ctrl-clicking on the albums, going to get infos and editing the common data (composer, artwork, album title etc.). ITunes does make a single album out of the cds but sometimes it merges the tracks in a silly order. This happens especially if the CDs are not known to Gracenote. In that case iTunes will merge the CDs in the order Track 01, Track 01, Track 01, ... instead of all tracks from CD1, then all tracks from CD2 etc.. Since there is no Undo if the merge I have to re-import all CDs and start again. Very annoying.
I can set the sort field to sort by "import date/time" which brings the tracks in the order I want (i.e. first all tracks from the first imported CD, then the next one ...) but when I sync my iTunes with the iPhone all the tracks are again in the order Track 01, Track 01, etc. (i.e. the CDs are interleaved).
I do not want to build a separate Playlist but want a single iTunes album with all the CDs that belong to a particular set in correct order.
How can this be done, please ?

    Hi Dennis!
I have a couple of steps for you to try in order to get those songs transferred to your iPod touch. First, make sure all of your software is updated with the latest versions. If the songs were downloaded from iTunes, you will also want to delete the songs from your library and then download them again from the list of past purchases on your iTunes account. An article about doing that can be found here:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you try a sync after those two steps and are still seeing the issue, then I would like you to try syncing the iPod by setting it to manually manage. An article outlining more information on manually managing your iPod sync can be found here:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1535
If you are still having issues after that, I have another article that can outline some other reasons why your songs may not transfer to your iPod, and it can be found here:

  • My question is Itunes related.  How do you prevent a playlist saved in Itunes from alphabetizing the song list created. I wanted to keep the original order, and somehow everything was alphabetized without requesting it.

My question is Itunes related.  How do you prevent a playlist saved in Itunes from automatically alphabetizing the song list.   I had a specific order of songs that I wanted, and Itunes somehow automatically alphabetized them.  Is there a way to turn that feature off, and/or get them back to the original order?   I also noticed that once a playlist has been created, I cannot manually changed the order of the songs from my desktop..  Any suggestions?

That's just the sort order. It's displaying the media alphabetically because you have clicked on the NAME column near the top of the iTunes window.
Click on the little triangle above the column of numbers (usually on the far left side of the main iTunes window) and the media will sort in the order in which you added each item to the playlist.
You can easily reorder songs within a playlist: Click and HOLD on the song you wish to move, then drag-and-drop it wherever you like.

  • How do I use the same track multiple times in different playlists? I want to rename it multiple times.

Hi, I am an entertainer that want rename a track a music a number of different ways so it will come up in playlist that work alphabeticly.
    for instance:
Good Song I want to change to:
    A Good Song
    B Good Song
    C Good Song
    D Good Song
So I can place them in different playlist and keep the order straight.
    Todd

You can't give a single track multiple sets of properties, but if you want four copies of a song with different metadata then find the original and copy/paste it three times into the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, then edit the properties of each in turn.

I have just purchased a second ipod and have two computers w7 and xp, can i use one on each computer with the same account. I have a different playlist on my second computer. Thanks.

Sorry to ask, how do I do it please. I have my first ipod with the same account on both computers that have different libraries one of which I am building now. Do I have to de-authorise my original ipod on the computer that I want to use my new ipod on with the new library and then register my new ipod. I would rather do this than have 2 libraries on one itunes, but keep the same account details.

  • Can i have the same song on itunes in 2 different playlist under 2 different genres

is there a way to have the same song in my itunes but 2 different playlist have it under different genre?

if I make a smart playlist how do I pick rock for one song in my playlist but in another playlist have the same song but have it in pop genre
    ryane84:
I think we have all asked you why you feel the need to focus on the Genre of a song? It really doesn't matter, as there are other ways of achieving what you want and in an attempt to solve your problem, we have suggested several things:
The simplest is to create a regular playlist, with the songs you want, regardless of the genre. You choose the songs you want, add them to the Playlist, name it and you're done. Then your mother makes her own playlist with the songs she wants, again, regardless of Genre and regardless of whether any of those songs are in your Playlist. It makes no difference what the Genre of a song is - you put the songs you want into your Playlist, your mother puts the songs she wants in her Playlist. End of story.
If you wish to automate the process (and thereby make it easier to change the Playlist at a later date), I have suggested a Smart Playlist and given you step-by-step instructions to follow. You could have made that Playlist by now and seen for yourself whether it fits your needs.
None of this creates a second copy of the song (to address one of your other concerns).
If you and your mother are using the same iTunes Library, but have your own iPods, then perhaps you are each Syncing selected Playlists to your own devices. Again, that does not matter. The only difference in this case is that there will now be a copy of the song on each iPod. But only one copy in your iTunes Library.
    To finish -
you cannot have one song in two Genres.
You can simulate a second Genre for a song by using a Smart Playlist, as described in one of your other threads. If you are having difficulty following my instruction for the Smart Playlist (perhaps because of a minor error in that instruction), then tell us and we can sort it out.

  • How do I select a playlist to copy onto my devices?  On the older version, I could click on each list, then check "sync only checked playlists" and I'd have different playlists on different devices.  How do I do it with this version?  Thank you!

How in 12.1.0.50 can I select a playlist to copy onto my devices from my iMac?  On the older version, I could click on each list, then check "sync only checked playlists" and I'd have different playlists on different devices (iPhone 6, iPod nano).  How do I do it with this version?  Thank you!

    Same way.
Select the device, click Music tab and select the playlists to sync.

    Hi,
There are two easy fixes to this.
One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.
    Hope this helps!

  • Assigning different playlists to slideshows in ATV??

Tried this but cannot get it to work...
I need to assign some music from my iTunes library to my photo slideshows on the Apple TV. Thing is, it seems only to be able to assign one playlist at a time. So, if I have a slideshow of 'My Kids', I need a certain playlist to play while it's running. But then I need a different playlist to play while my 'Holidays' slideshow is running, and so on and so forth through my slideshow collections. At present I can only select one playlist for all slideshows.
    Any ideas?

    What about Aperture ?
I sync some albumbs from Aperture, any chance to assign to each album a specific song/playlist ?
i've tried to create a slideshow from aperture, but seems not possible.
Aperture only runs a specific album as slideshow but not creates/exports photos as slideshow.
    Thanks

  • 1 iTunes + several iPods = different playlists?

I am working off of one iTunes program and am trying to load several iPods with similar music but different playlists.
Is there a way to load only certain playlists? I'm doing music for several restaurants and I don't want to include the playlist for the other venues.
Is there a way to check playlists in the same way there is to check songs?
I realize you can add a new user on Mac OS to have different "users" - but then if I change one iTunes, I'm gonna have to change the other iTunes one at a time. Is there a way to work off of one iTunes program (for tweaking and changing the music) while keeping various iPod playlist LISTS separate?
For example, I have Playlist 1 and Playlist 2 which may contain about 50% of the same music. I then sync one iPod with the checked songs from Playlist 1, but Playlist 2 still shows up with those 50% songs included. I don't want Playlist 2 to show up on that iPod, but then if I go through and un-check all the songs for Playlist 1 and then check all songs for Playlist 2 for another iPod (using the same iTunes program) - can I get it to load ONLY that playlist without including the title "Playlist 1" on that other iPod.
    Does that make sense?

You can use the option "Sync Music - Selected Playlists". Syncing selected playlists is just like syncing your whole library only on a smaller scale and more "selectively". This is particularly useful when your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod. When your iPod is is set to sync selected playlists it automatically picks up any changes you made to that playlist in iTunes since you last connected. Anything you added to the playlist will be added to the iPod, anything you deleted from it will be deleted from the iPod. In other words the iTunes playlist and the iPod are kept "in sync".
Create the playlist or playlists you want to use then connect your iPod, when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod: Syncing Music to iPod
