Different Production order number ranges with same order type

Dear Friends,
I am working on live project implementation.I am having four manufacturing plants.I am having one order type say PPLE, I am having two different versions say CM and CN.Now my requirement is can I maintain  two different number ranges for same order types within single plant .
number ranges should be like,
Plant          Version     Number ranges
1210            CM           CM121008...
1210            CN            CN121008
1220            CM           CM121008
1220             CN           CN121008
and so on.here first two digit should be version, then plant and year followed by order number .
Regards,
Manoj Jadhav

Hi manoj,
You cant have two different number ranges for an order type in internal number range, but in external number range you can have two diffrent number ranges
for example for one order you can start with CM1210080001 and other starting from CN1210080001.
Just convince the client to have external number range

  • Different number ranges for same order type

    Hi PP Guru's ,
Can anyone send me the user exit for the differnet number range creation for the same order type.
Same order type is used in two different Plants. So our client want to track the production order plantwise.
    Thanx in advance.
    Regards,
    Nagraj

    Hi Nagaraj,
The number range is defined at order type level ( i.e. client level)
So if you want to use different number range for different plant,  then use different order type for different plants.
    Thanks and regards

  • Number range for process order - Bulk and Filling.

I was trying to configure the Process order number range based on order type. In the IDES/ development system, some of the number ranges are pre-configured and already in use. Even the '+' green sign at the top is missing.
I tried with 'CORN' and then selected the order type and the Number Range General at the very bottom.
Help is appreciated and will be rewarded.
For example: The FG process order to have 1xxxxxxxxx, bulk: 2xxxxxxxxx.
    Thnx!
    Abhi.

    Number Ranges
    Assigning number range
There are two types of number assignment:
    Internal
When saving a data record, the SAP System assigns a sequential number that lies within the corresponding number range interval.
    External
When saving a data record, either you or an external system assigns a number. You need to ensure that the number lies within the corresponding number range interval.
    Example
Co82 let us say order number range maintenance
let us say you have created a new order type oen for FG and one for bulk and you want to assign a new number range
    In CO82..
    Menu path  Group -->maintain
In maintain number range group screen,
    Group --> insert
Give text and from number and to number
say text = new order say For FG
range - 1xxxxxxxxx to 1999999999999 (tick ext check box if the range is external number range-manual input)
    click on +
You can see your group at the end of list
In Not assigned group your new order type will be present
Place the curser on that order type and fallow the menu path as below
    Edit -->select element
Select NEW order number range group check box
    edit --> assign element group.
Now the number range is assigned to the new order. Save it, You will get a pop up, just ignore it.
I hope it will help you
Same thing yoyu repeate for Bulk

  • Production Order Number Range - Not Continuous

    Hi Team,
I have assigned the internal number range for my order type in CO82. When the system assigns the internal number (my production order is 10 digit number) to my production order, the number is getting assigned continuously. For example, if the last created production order number is 2481000001 , i am expecting the next number as 2481000002. But system is creating some number like 2481000023. In-between many numbers are missed. Why?
Production Order Number Range Assigned: From: 2481000000, To:2481999999 (Internal Number range)
    Thanks

    Hi Caetano,
As described in the note 62077, i can do the following setting.
    1.  Deactivate buffering: Choose 'Edit' -> 'Set Up Buffering' -> 'No Buffering'.
    2. If you want to change the buffer size only, enter the corresponding value in the field 'No. of numbers in buffer'.
    Case 1:
If i activate the option "No Buffering" for object "auftrag", will it have any negative impact like performance of the system?
Should i need to activate the option "No Buffering" for object "auftrag" before creating the production order?
    Case 2:
I do not want to deactivate the buffering. But i will set the 'No. of numbers in buffer'as ONE (1). I think with this settings, the numbers will be always continuous. Will it have any system performance impact?
    Thanks

  • Order number range not define

    Hi Experts,
when i create a production order system generate error massage " NUMBER RANGE NOT DEFINE ".
I have maintained OPJH (Number range also) and i have maintained CO82.
and order type also assign to number range group .
when i create production order in particular plant(1100) with same order type(PP01) then generate a error massage but when I create production order in other plant(2100,3100,4100) with same order type (PP01) then not a problem.
OPJH, OPJK, OPU3, OPL8 also maintained in this plant(1100) for this order type
    Please suggest me
    Thanks in advance............................

    Please do the following
    1.  Double check in CO82-> Change number groups -> Double click the Production order type (PP01) change the number range & save.
    2. As you specified its working well for the other plants 2100,3100,4100. Please check in OPL8 whether the plant 1100 is assigned to the specific order type or not. But CO82 is not plant specific its global change of number ranges for all the plants.
    3. Finally if you are trying this with in development system, check with the basis whether the transport reqeust will take time to update.
    Check and revert back.

  • Purchase order number ranges plant wise

    Hi ,
Requirement is , want to have purchase order number  plant wise. I know that we can have different number ranges for different document types in standard SAP. But how to achieve different number ranges for purchase order plant  wise.?
Is there any user exits available for this?
    regards,
    abi

    Hi,
it is possible through a BADI to get the separate number ranges for plant wise PR/PO,
but u need to maintain a customised table with number ranges and plants,
whenever the user try to save a PO/PR the syatem will pick the number range from the customised table,
    that BADI is ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST,
it is very useful if any client has number of plants like 30 or 40 plants,
and it is easy track the PO from where it has raised.

  • Demerger  Purchase order number range.

    Hi Friends,
We have demerger of 1 of hte business of the company & new entity will be using same client which we are using.
We will be Creating new Purcharse orders with open amounts for new legal entities.
Here requirement for purchase order number range is as belows. How can we achieve this.
Our advice for number range is to use a prefix + old PO number, to ensure the incoming invoices can be easily assigned.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    HI,
You may define external number range as shown below, for example:
Assign the same as external number range for the PO Doc type:
While creating the PO, maintain the number range externally with the required prefix + old PO number.
Test the same and revert back.

  • Multiple number range for planned order

    Hi,
I want maintain different number range for MRP related planned order and manual creation planned orders. I have checked OPPQ and OMI2 transaction but i could not get any clue to create different number range for same plant. Let me know is how we can create.
    Regards / US

    Hi Uma,
number range is dependent on plant alone and I don't think there is an user exit or badi to change number range at planned order creation.
I guess the alternative is an enhancement or using some other field to determine what planned orders are manual.
    regards,
    Edgar

  • Number ranges for purchase order in SUS- why?

    Dear Gurus,
In SPRO settings, I have seen the option for defining the number range for purchase order in supplier self service system. similarly, there is an option for defining the number range for purchase order response.
Why do we need to define the number range for purchase order and its response in SUS system? In SUS system, the purchasing documents from SRM and MM system create corresponding Sales Order and its follow-on document. So, we need to define the number range for sales order not purchase order.
In spro documents, it says you need to define the number range only if you create purchase order locally in SUS.
    What does it mean?
    regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi Ranjan,
Unfortunately in SUS, Sales orders are referred to as Purchase orders only. Hence any PO with a number say 450000000 that comes into SUS will have a corresponding number in SUS as 19000000.
Sam has already explained the PO response part.

  • Number range for Maintenance Order (IW31) - Any exit

    Hi All,
I need to go for internal number overwite for Maintenance Order (IW31)for object AUFTRAG .
I am going to maintain ztable which contain order type and  NRRANGENR.So,based on the ordertype i have to populate  NRRANGENR in the exit.
Can you please tell me any exit or badi or through enhancement spot we can apply number range for maintenance order.
    Thanks .
    With Regards,
    Ambrose

    Hi,
Do you need an exit ?
You could create number range groups each with a specific number range. Then assign each order type to a particular group depending on which number range you want it linked to. If necessary have a different group for each order type.
Configuration can be done in transaction SNRO for object AUFTRAG.

  • Service order number range creation

    Hi,
Could anyone please tell me how can we create service order number range if we have done a new service order type creation, and what should we do: should we create the number range in development and then transport it to the production or we should directly create it in production.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
Please guide me what should we first do to transport the service order type transport request to prd.
1.Should we first transport the request for other components of the service order type?
2.Then should we transport the request for number range or we directly create it in production server?
    Please guide.
