Different Sizes with same file.

Hi All,
I have made 2 post script files from 1 indesign file, but the trap setting I have used to make for both Post Script file was:
1. Application In-Rip
2. Adobe In-Rip
My questions are :
1. Is there any diffrence between these settings?
2. Why the file size of PS and Generated PDF through distiller was different. (Seems only due to different trap settings) PDF was made by same Distiller preset.

This is what I would use to handle my trapping - Of course someone will come along and say I am doing it all wrong, but this is the base of I have been using for nearly 25 years applying theory that was around before the MACS (Ouch, that hurts).....
I'd print PS, In Rip Separations, Built In trapping. I would then choose my screening option (this dialog is all screwey - LPI/DPI... For another post I guess).
I personally change my angles to my liking - make sure they are 30 degrees apart to avoid a moiré, and then I enter the ink manager - There, I just adjust the density to total 2.0... All you are really telling the file is to spread the lighter colors into the darker colors. For instance, a CMYK file made of all vector art that needs to trap, I put in Y=.2, M=.3, C=.5, K=1.0. See the lighter color (yellow .2) will go into every other color, the magenta into the cyan and black and then the cyan into the black.
From there, just distill your file and preview your PDF. Make sure to have overprint preview on so you can see the traps.

Yes you can. Make sure that domains configured to use different multicast address. WLS uses multicast for communications between nodes in domain.
although your configuration will work, you could have troubles if you going to execute inter-domain calls between domains/servers with the same names.

  • Requesting license for two different ssystem with same SID

    Hello,
Is it possible to request 2 license for two systems with same SID. The systems are on different machines and their HW key are different but both have same SID. While requesting license, will it permit to create 2 different license with SAME SID.
    Regards
    Deb

    Hi Anil,
The one for which the license is already requested is the main development portal with SID EP2. I have installed one local version of SAP EP with the same SID EP2. Now we need a license for the second system.
If we change the HW key of the original license which is already applied in the main development portal under SMP and apply for a new license for the new local version, can it have any future implications, if any.
What is the best way to deal with the situation. Is there a full proof way to change the SID of the EP system, which I can try in the local EP system.

  • Why are files in Firefox 33 cache directory different size than saved files on desktop

In previous versions of Firefox I used the cache directory to extract videos, flash files and hidden images, that were not saved in folder and a HTML Document file on desktop. For Example the opening image of a YouTube Video can not be extracted and saved from Firefox but is stored in the cache directory.
To find these files without going through them one at a time, I would copy the cache folder on a desktop folder and then use Double Killer to delete the same size files in both the cache and the saved files in the desktop file folder. The files that are left behind in the cache folder are those that did not save to the desktop file and folder. I can then double check to see if I can find the videos, flash or images from the remaining files.
I have updated to Firefox 30.0.3. The problem now is that the files in the cache are different in KB size from the saved files on the desktop folder. The dimensions of a saved image are the same but the size of the file differ. Now I can not use Double Killer to delete files and have to go through the whole cache directory one by one to find files that were not saved.
Why did the Firefox developers changed the cache directory? Do I need to revert to a previous version of Firefox or is there a way that I can change the cache directory of Firefox 33.0.3 and the size that it stores files.
Would also like to know what add-on gives the best quality screenshot with flash.
Thanks for this support. Apart from this cache problem I find Firefox easy to use and the best web browser.

Current Firefox 32+ releases use a new cache service named Cache2 and this cache service works differently.
Files in the cache2 folder are special files that also store the meta data apart from the actual file data that you see on the about:cache page if you click an item.

The CPUSPEEDNW is measured in "millions of Oracle operations per second" - but we don't know what "operation" Oracle is using for measuring. Since you have two difference operating systems, it's possible that the "operation" that Oracle uses is one that makes use of the "OSD" (operating system dependant) code and has a very different code path on the two machines that results in a very different speed of completion.

  • Different CRC's, same file?

    Hello Sun Forums,
I have a question for all you Sun experts. The nature of my company's product is such that when we compile our code, the same set of files always needs to have the same CRC. One of our developers here mentioned that he thinks that every time we build the jars, even on the same set of files, a time stamp, or the manifest, or something, is causing the same jar files to have a different CRC with each new compile.
Can someone tell me how to avoid having each new compile of the same code generate different CRC's for the jars? Thanks!!!
    Mike

Here's a CRC-32 brute forcer. The first version used reflection, which was fairly slow (I figured worst case on my computer was going to be around half an hour). The CRC-32 algorithm and table was taken from the JDK's sources at j2se/src/share/native/java/util/zip/zlib-1.1.3/zcrc32.c
Worst case on my machine (Core2/2.4 running XP) is around 75 seconds, and will try all possible byte sequences of 1 to 4 bytes. I don't know if this necessarily means every possible value is covered, but the random CRCs it picks have worked:
    import java.util.Random;
    public class ChangeCRC2
      // Table copied from j2se/src/share/native/java/util/zip/zlib-1.1.3/zcrc32.c
      public static int[] CRC_TABLE = {

  • Downloads with same file name override each other

This happens with large files and/or slow connection.
    - The default limit is loading 2 files at a time.
    - Suppose the user is currently loading A.txt and B.txt
    - While loading, user also clicks http://url1/C.txt and http://url2/C.txt (different URL but same name), and they are added to the queue.
    - Firefox loads both of them into a single file, they should be separated instead (C.txt and C-1.txt)

Welcome to the Apple user to user discussion forums
While I was organizing my photos, I realized there are about 30 or so photos that have the same exact file name as another photo. Example: There are two IMG_1243.jpg, but they are different pictures. They were taken at different times, even different years. I have used more than one camera to import photos. I have changed the name of one of the photos in the Title area in the information section of iPhoto. When I try to put the newly named photo into a folder that has the other IMG_1243, I get a message that says" An older item named "IMG_1243" already exists. Do you want to replace it with the newer one you are moving?"
I want to have both IMG_1243.jpg photos in the same folder. How can I do this? Also, I have a few thousand pictures, so how can I tell exactly how many photos have the same file name as another photo?
It sounds like you are using the finder inside the iPhoto library - do not do that - you will corrupt your library and lose the edits, keywords, etc that you have
iPhoto does not care about duplicate file names - it handles it fine
changing the title of a photo does not affect the file name - although when you export the photo you can use the title for the file name as an option
What are you doing and what do you want to accomplish?
Remember do not ever make any changes in the iPhoto library using the finder or any other program

  • Files with same file name in IFS

    Hi,
Does anyone know if, as IFS uses a "reference model files system", it is possible to store in the database 2 files with the same name (I'm talking to unfoldered files, but I suppose it will be the same for foldered files). If yes, how can I make the difference between the two files using the java api ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Roger.

Of course Yes, it's not a problem to store two files with the same file name... but they can't be foldered in the same folder.

  • Lightroom reinstallation on different mac with same serial number.

im using lightroom on my mac air.
and im planning to buy a mac pro soon.
in that case, is it possible to use lightroom on my new mac pro with the same serial numbers that im using now on mac air?
(im not going to use lightroom on mac air)

Adobe allows two installations of Lightroom on different computers with the proviso that only one can be used at any one time. (There is no on-line activation/de-activation process, only your honesty.)
Just install on the new mac pro with the same serial number.
Note: If the Mac Air has an "update" version installed (for example -you upgraded from LR3 to LR5) then you will need both Serial Numbers for LR3 & the LR5-update, to install on the new Mac pro.

  • Send port with same file name as receive

I have a filename "abc.docx". I need to create a send port where I should set the file name in a such a way that I should have the same file name as received.
I have set the filename in the send port as "%SourceFileName%" but it does not seem to be working.
How to set the send port to have the same file name as received by the receive port? Send location should hold the same file name

could you please also mention what is happening when you set
%SourceFileName% .  what kind of output filename are you getting then when used %SourceFileName%
?  incase if you are not getting any file at all in the output, then its not the issue with %SourceFileName%
     macro.

  • Create a different db with same db_name and now cannot start apex

    Hi All

The purpose is we need to change the default character set to unicode.
And How do we start apex?
Is there a command line tool to start apex?
    -Thanks for the help!

    Hi umesh,
    Thanks for your help.
That means we can set up two database with same db_name and domain is system. the duplicate DB (second DB) does not affect primary DB in system and makes a confusion for client application? suppose i use TNS to control each DB by IP .
also, can we use db_link to link two differnet OS plastform( window 32 bit and linuc 64 bit redhat with service name) oacle version is 10 g too?
I try to configure a TNS in primary DB tnaname file but fail with TNS : no listener ora-12541 during connect linux DB server.
But I copy this TNS to new window 32 bit PC with oracle client. it works to link to linux db services.
    which issue?

  • Two cams with same file-name...

Hi! I have had an EOS400D for a couple of years, and have recently bought a 40D. The problem now is that the 40D has been used so much on a trip to the Philippines, the camera´s file numbering are the same on a series of pics. Both cams used simultanously. This confuses Aperture, so when i preview one pic, another shows up... Doues anyone have a solution for this?

That's got nothing to do with the file names, as Aperture uses it's own internal IDs to keep track of each image, regardless of file names.
What's happened is that the thumbnails for each image and the index which tells Aperture which thumbnail is for which image don't match up.
To fix this you need to rebuild the Library - quit Aperture, then launch it again while holding down the Command and Option/Alt keys. This will rebuild the database from scratch.
Obviously, don't do this until after you've backed everything up, just in case...

  • Help ! Can't replace file in file folder with same file from mail

After migrating from Mountain Lion to Mavericks, everytime I want to save attachment file from mail to file folder that has same file name, after clicking "Replace", the attachment file doesn't replace the old one.
This problem didn't exist, after migrating from Lion to Mountain Lion.
What should I do to fix it ?
    Thanks.

The best thing to do is to move the search and replace functionality to before the string coming out of the file is changed into an array. Do it there and all you need is 2 instances of the Search and Replace String function. One replaces all the "/" with "-" and one changes all the "." to ",".

  • Audio distortion in iTunes... no distortion with same file in QT...

I've noticed a horrible low-end distortion when listening to audio files in iTunes...it sounds really muddy... almost as if the speakers are blown. However, the distortion is gone when I listen to the same files in Quicktime. I've turned off the Sound Enhancer, gone through every menu setting that I can think of... all EQs are off... I'm clueless. Any clues? Should I reinstall iTunes?

I was sufficiently piqued by this problem to go as far as clean reinstalling the OS to see if any software conflict was interfering with the ITunes playback in this way. I can now tell you that with a pristine computer running 10.5.8, the distortion still occurs. BTW, I upgraded to 10.6 briefly before doing the clean reinstall, and the same distortion was present.
Next step was to throw out ITunes 9 and install 8.2.1 on the clean computer. Guess what? The distortion on the test track (a demo track from a trumpet practice play along CD) is gone!
I think I've definitively established that there is a problem with the audio quality in ITunes 9. I'm not a expert, of course, so I wouldn't know why this would be, but it seems like the new version adds some harmonic distortion somewhere in its output, independently from Quick Time. While this one track is the most noticeable instance (and how my attention was called to this problem in the first place), I can also definitely hear degradation in audio quality comparing HQ MP3s on a computer running 9 vs. 8.2.1, using the same audio interface (Apogee Ensemble) output and monitors.
I hope Apple reads these boards!

  • Multiple virtual webservers with same files

Hello friends... I need some help to design my enviroment.
I have here, 12 webservers which have independent files. My intent is use the same files for all of them and use shared configuration from iis.
They are all virtual servers runing on hyper-v 2008 r2. How can i use the same files for those servers? I was thinking on network share but I dont know if its the best way to do this.
tried to use a passthrough disk on them but didnt work as i spected... theres any way to one server have write permission and the others just read and when other need to write something, the permission change from one to another?
    Im kinda lost here...

"how can i use a unique disk to multiple servers access data as webserver?"
The answer is in the article referenced by Aidan.  You set up a file share.  The beauty of a file share is that it can also be served out by a cluster, meaning that the data is highly available.  If you just try to share a single physical/virtual
disk, if anything happens to that, all web servers go down.
