Different text color options?

What is the difference between changing text color through the drop-down color swatch options and the recolor artwork option?

Under what circumstances?

  • Setting different text colors within 1 formula field

    Post Author: hassan.annous
    CA Forum: Formula
    Suppose I am interested in coloring each part of a text returned by a formula field with a different color.
    For example I have the following string:
    Local StringVar Diagnosis := "I am trying to color my text.";
    And I would like to color "I am" in red, "trying to color" in blue, and "my text" in green.
    Is that possible (using Crystal Syntax)?

    Yes, but suppose I have field that outputs this text: "I have 1000 Cars"
    The "1000" is dynamic (embeded field), which means it could go to 1000000 (increasing the number of digits) and then shif the word "Cars" to the right. What I need is to color this "1000" .
    I do not want to seperate the "1000" to another text box. this will not shift the "Cars" to the right when the digit increases. Also it is not convenient to expand the text box as well, it will look like this: "I have 1000          Cars".
    Any solutions?

  • Subtitling 2 characters with 2 different text colors.

    Hello,
    Is there a simple & efficient way to subtitle 2 characters using 2 different colours? For example, character A would be white text, character B would be yellow text.
    I have FCP7 and LiveType 2.1
    Thanks,
    Marc Griffin

    Make the title the way you like it for one character. Drag it to the browser. Make the title for the second character and drag it to the browser. The browser titles become templates for your subtitles.

  • When using classic dialog controls in labview 7.1 why does the text color that I have selected always stays black?

    I have an older program created in LV 6.0.2 that uses dialog buttons. The text color is red or blue. When I load it into LV 7.1 the color stays black. When I edit text I can see that the color is correct but it will not display the color when I leave edit mode on the control. Even if I select a new button from the classic tools pallete "dialog controls" I am unable to change the text color.
    What is happening? Why does LV 7.1 prevent this text color change?
    Roger

    The dialog control colors are set by the operating system so they match other controls that the OS generates. So in LabVIEW 6, they were actually not behaving correctly.
    The following text is from the LabVIEW help on Dialog controls.
    "You cannot customize the appearance of the dialog spin control, slide controls, or progress bars because the controls and indicators use platform-specific drawing functions that do not support customization. You also cannot use Property Nodes and Invoke Nodes to customize the appearance of these controls and indicators."
    If you need different text color, you'll have to use the non dialog controls.

  • Problem editing text color and page properties due to favicon link

    I recently added a link to a sites favicon using the link tag. Following advice on the net this was added beneath the HTML tag and before the HEAD tag. I was using a Dreamweaver template for the site and it updated all pages with the new link in the non-editable area above HEAD and just after the template declaration.
    This was fine, unitl the user went to edit the site. He found that he could no longer get to page properties as he got an error that no page properties existed in editable areas... although there was an editable region for the page title. Also text color and highlighting were now disabled.
    Moving the link tag into the head area has resolved the editing issue, but it seems a strange bug. Is there some way to add something between HTML and HEAD and have it appear before the InstanceBegin of the template?

    You can edit text in any PDF by using trial version but as for as my knowledge and limited experience with Adobe I could not find any text color option in Adobe Acrobat. But you can highlight text in Adobe Acrobat. If you want to change the text color in PDF, I would like to recommend some another software which allows you to change the color of text and is available for download here.
    Let me tell you how can change text color using this software. Open PDF file > go to "edit tab" > Click "edit" then highlight text to change the color. As you can see in the below screenshot.

  • HP ColorLaserJet CP3505X - Relationship between different Color Options

    Hi everybody,
    I know this is not exactly the right forum to ask this question, but I've put up the question in the HP Laserjet forum as well as in the Photography forum here and have not received any answer to it. Maybe somebody out here can answer it out of experience with a HP Color Laserjet printer:
    Can anybody explain the relationship/interaction between the different Color Options (e.g. in the PCL6 driver) of the CP3505X to me?
    Options available:
    1) Driver Properties
    Color Management:
    Automatic
    ManualDefault Color Profile
    2) Printing Preferences
    Advanced Tab:
    ICM Method
    Disabled
    Handled by Host System
    Handled by Printer
    Color Tab:
    Color Themes
    Default (sRGB)
    Image Optimization
    Adobe RGB
    None
    Custom Profile
    What kind of profiles are involved when printing output from an application in which case? The manual is very unspecific about this
    For example:
    Under which circumstances is the profile specified under Manual Color Management in the Driver Properties used? And is it the only correction applied under those circumstances?
    What profile is being applied when "ICM Handled by Printer" is chosen in the Printing Preferences?
    Under which circumstances are the Color Themes specified under the Color Tab used, and under which circumstances are they ignored?
    I am completely confused an would appreciate any explanation.
    Thanks

  • Change menus to black background and white text (not invert colors option)?

    I have an iPhone 5 on the way to me as I got one for a very good price. I am visually impaired. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy s3 which is crapping out on me after having it for a long time). One of the features I love about it is, the menus (settings, contacts, etc etc) are in high contrast (black background with white text, which is much easier on my eyes and easier to read. It is my understandiing that the iPhone is not the same way. I had a friend look on his, and the only option he found was the "Invert colors" option. The reason I don't want to use that is because it inverts ALL colors for everything on the phone, including pictures. t just want to invert the colors in all the menus so I can read them easier. Is there any way to do this? BTW it's running IOS 8.

    the invert colors option is the only way to achieve that on iPhone currently
    you should go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and request that feature added, I think a lot of people would use that

  • Text Color in disabled text field

    Hi,
    In our application, The default rendered text in disabled fields is not visible properly. In order to improve the visibility we applied different color using content style for those fields.
    We did see the change in the fields after applying content-style. But it is a painful job to apply the content-style for each input field.
    Is there a way to configure default text color in ADF which is applicable for all the disabled fields in the application?
    We also tried the option of setting the color using css in following manner:
    af|inputText::content{color:#333333;}
    But this didn't have any impact on the text color.
    Please let us know if we can achieve this through a single point fix in the code.
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Dimitar,
    The :rtl is a special case, as is :ltr and :alias. These are always placed at the end and are purely for the engine, they do not generate any style class on the DOM whereas other peudo classes generate a p_AF<state> class on the MAIN DOM element, which is why you must place the class on them. For example:
    af|inputText:disabled::content becomes
    In the CSS: af_inputText.p_AFDisabled af_inputText_content
    In the HTML <span class="af_inputText p_AFDisabled"><input class="af_inputText_content">

  • Different font colors in landscape not possible - SERIOUSLY??

    Hi Ive just been checking my portrait versions of a textbook and wow... there seems NO way to have different font colors in portrait and landscape??
    Thats totally insane. I'll explain why...
    IN landscape you can (and should) have full bleed photos and text on top which needs to be an approrpiate colour to stand out against the background image. You can even be a good boy and create a new style to keep things tidy. So far so good.
    THEN you go into Portrait edit mode and find the text (now white) has vanished on the *COMPULSORY* (lets not forget)  white background for the portrait mode. SO OK , you create a new style for that body text set it to black and carry on right? Nope. It forces the same style on the same text back in landscape which then is black <sigh> and so your're screwed again...
    Conclusion? We must ONLY ever use black text EVER in Landscape and Portrait? If I'm right we have a major design inconsistency - and add to that a further inconsistency that the section templates CAN be edited in Landscape mode but 'though shalt not edit the section pages in Portrait' uhmmm.. okayyy.. why?
    I'm sure I have this wrong. *Please* tell me I have this wrong.... or let me have a workaround.
    P.S. has anyone else found about a dozen bugs in iBA 1.1?
    P.P.S. I'm aware I can disable portrait - Dont want to thanks ;-) . Its half the books viewing options.

    I hav become a familar rapoteur on these bugs (sorry design inconsistencies) on the report page -  is there a list (official or unofficial) where we can see which bugs others have reported to save us pulling our hair out for hours?
    I will say that for years I reported loads of bugs for Final Cut 7 etc (as Apple is short of a few bucks and needs free debugging)  - and look what happened to FCP
    "Final Cut-Toyz-R-Us-Pro"
    Anyway, that sounds like a mini-rant. Thanks KT. Your help is legendary here

  • Text Import Options Menu Box

    I recently created a deck of cards in Illustrator for a design show. All the elements were created in Illustrator CS4 in different files. I started a new file and put the cards together printed and saved my file as usual. a week later I tried to open up the file and now the TEXT IMPORT OPTIONS box appears and it wont open up my file and all the hard work i put in putting them together. the element files open up as usual. Is my file gone forever? will i have to piece them back? Is ther anyway of opening it up?

    3 words: Versioning, versioning and backups. Oh, and did I mention versioning and backups? Yes, the file is most likely gone *poof*, so it wil lhave to be reassembled. And you realyl might consider developing a strategy to keep valuable work files safe.

  • Set top and bottom inset spacing values in Text Frame Options via jsx script

    I am looking for a way to set the top and bottom inset spacing values only to 2 points in Text Frame Options via a .jsx scrpt.
    For years, I have used a script that sets Preferences, such as:
    with(app.storyPreferences){
        opticalMarginAlignment = false;
        opticalMarginSize = 12;                // pts
    I would like to add the code to this same script that would make Top = 0p2 and Bottom 0p2 but leave Left and Right as 0p0.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here is the full .jsx file that we now use to set preferences.

  • How can I align two different text row in the same table in two different way (one centered and the other one on the left)?

    Hi,
    I want to center two different text row that are in the same table but one on the center and the other one on the left. I put a <span> tag hoping that it has been overwhelmed the table's class properties The .bottomsel's font-family and the .Cig84's font-family and colour work but the text-align don't: they're both on the left.
    These are my source and CSS codes:
    Source:
    <table width="600" border="0">
      <tr>
        <td class="bottomref"><p><span class="bottomsel">| <a href="index.html" target="_self">Main</a> | <a href="about.html" target="_self">About</a> | <a href="clients.html" target="_self">Clients</a> | <a href="contact.html" target="_self">Contact</a> |</span><br />
          <span class="credits">Credits: <span class="Cig84">Cig84</span></span></p></td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    CSS:
    .bottomsel {
      text-align: center;
      font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
    .credits {
      text-align: left;
    .Cig84 {
      color: #F00;
      font-family: "Comic Sans MS", cursive;

    Use paragraph tags with CSS classes.
    CSS:
         .center {text-align:center}
         .left {text-align:left}
    HTML:
    <table width="600" border="0">
      <tr>
        <td class="bottomref">
              <p class="center">This text is center aligned</p>
              <p class="left">This text is left aligned</p>
        </td>
      </tr>
    </table>

  • In Acrobat 8 Professional, how can I change the typewriter text color?

    I tried selecting the text then pressing Ctrl-E but the text properties toolbar that appears says, "No current selection." I tried this method another user suggested:
    "1. Use the text box tool to type some text, then select the text
    2. Use the properties bar, ctrl-E, or View > Toolbars > Properties Bar, to change the color of the font
    3. Highlight the text, not the text box and copy the text.
    4. Click on the typewriter tool and type some text.
    5. Click on the comments menu and select "Show Comments List", in the comments list you should see the typewriter entry from step 4 above.
    6. Highlight the typewriter text in the comments window then paste the copied text from step 3 above.  It should paste with the color selected in the properties bar.
    7. Right click an area of the typewriter entry in the comments list, and choose properties.
    8. On the General tab check the "Make Properties Default" Check box and click OK.
    All new typewriter entries should now use this new font color. "
    But when I get to STEP #2 the text properties toolbar that appears has all the options to edit the text shaded so I cannot select the option to change the text color. Any help would be appreciated!

    There really aren't default outgoing font settings. They are only there for viewing. A workaround I have seen mentioned is to start you signature with the font style you want to use. When you start your message, click in that first part of your signature.

  • Outlook 2013 Calendar lacks color options for months and "Today"?

    Am I missing settings in Outlook 2013 that would allow me to color months different/alternating colors and brightly highlight "Today", specifically in the Month view for the calendar?  I see I can change the color of the overall calendar,
    but that does nothing to address my problems.
    Background: The month view for the calendar in Outlook 2010 was wonderfully glance-able. The current month had one color background, and the bordering months had a different color, allowing you to easily see the months.  Also, "Today" was brightly
    highlighted in light yellow, making it easy to discern which day on the calendar was the current day.  As far as I can see in Outlook 2013, these are both now missing.  Months are all the same color, making it hard to scroll through and keep any
    sense of what's being presented visually.  Today is denoted by a tiny blue bar that blends into all the blue bars of uncategorized appointments, again making it much harder to find than it should be.  If there is no option to change the highlighting,
    Outlook has taken a huge step back in usability in my eyes.

    I found a good way of highlighting today's appointments in weekly and monthly view using conditional formatting:
    . go to Edit - Automatic Formatting
    . click Add
    . in the Name field enter "Today"
    . in the Label field choose a color
    . click on Condition...
    . on Appointments and Meetings tab where it says Time:
    . choose "starts"
    . choose "today"
    . click OK
    . click OK
    While not ideal, that sounds like a decent hack to highlight today, provided I have an appointment.
    However, in trying to put into practice, it's picking up all of my reoccurring appointments that are set to reoccur with no end by date, and it's not picking up the reoccurring appointments that have a defined end by date that it should be getting highlighted
    (as they occur today).
    Even using the advanced filter to require the "Start" be "today" and the "End" be "today" it still highlights the same wrong appointments.  And unless I'm misunderstanding the logic, the "Recurrence Range End" field flag appears to be broken, as I _still_
    get  the same behavior by setting the condition to "exists" (apparently a setting of "No End Date" puts some sort of data into the field).
