Different timeout for two protected applications with same AM 7.1

I have a AM 7.1 configuration planned.
We need to protect two different application url's; And provide different session & idle timeout for each of these url's.
Can we configure different timeout for two protected URL's / applications configured with same AM 7.1 ?

Hi,
I have not actually configured this, but you can create a policy for that application with an "Active Session Time" condition.
You also have an option there to destroy or not the session.
But if the user is allowed to do SSO between the 2 applications then you should consider if you can destroy the session or not.

I agree with you it could be the same GL account for bank charges, but the business requirement is such that in one of the two company codes, bank charges are required to be tracked separately to be subsequently transferred to the other company code. This means two separate GL accounts are required for two company codes which needs to be configured in OBXK.

Different material group for two CO companies with same material no.

We are implementing another CO company in COPA. The issue is that both companies use the same materials number, but in COPA grouping categories (MATKL) must be different . I was thinking in using another category, but is there another option?

Hi,
By definition the materials should have the same material group (operationg concern - same market grouping).
However, if you have this as business requirement you need to first identify a field to store this. and then you an also use exit / derivation rule to replace the value with a condition on the company code. Advantage you have reduced the use of one more characteristic in CO-PA.

Confusion of aliases made for two SMB shares with same folder name

I have a SMB file server here which provides me with a Departmental personal home filestore and also a Departmental personal web filestore. The name of the folder is the same in each case - my Departmental user name. If I check the Finder Preference 'Show these items on the desktop' for 'Connected servers', I can use the Finder's 'Connect to Server' for each - smb://webhome/john and smb://home/john - to make each of them appear on my desktop as 'john'.
It's rather confusing to have to remember that (say) the upper 'john' is my home filestore and the lower one is my web filestore, so I use Finder 'Make Alias' (e.g. via right click on each when selected') to create two aliases I can name 'web john' and 'home john'.
Alas, each alias always points to the same (apparently randomly selected) share!
This looks like a bug to me. I've tried unchecking the Finder 'Connected servers' preference, and then the shares appear under folder 'SHARE' - where I cannot create any aliases at all; I get the error message 'Operation could not be completed (Error -8058)'.
Reader, do you know of a work-around which will let me distinguish on my desktop between my two identically-named folders from different shares? Alas, I have no power to change the names of the original folders.

I should have said that one cannot rename the share icons in the usual way. Not being able to do this is the real bug here. If I'd been able to do this I wouldn't have need to try to create aliases, of course.

Yes, it is possible. If one is CI (PAS) and the second one is an AS (AAS). In this case there will be only one database.
If you are talking about two separate SAP systems with separate databases (Eg: A BI and an ECC) with the same SID then the problem will be with the database (Eg: Oracle)
The database will be installed under /oracle/SID/112_64 (ORACLE_HOME) unless one database is running on 10 G and in that case the ORACLE_HOME will be /oracle/SID/102_64
The next issue will be with the SAP file systems like /sapmnt/SID
The most important problem will be with the switch to the sidadm and orasid users and the conflicts there. If there is a need to stop one of the SAP systems and if you do a switch to sidadm and issue a stopsap command which system will be stopped ?
These are few of the many problems I can think of.
So if we are talking about two separate systems with their own databases I would rule out the possibility of having two systems with the same SID.

Is there a way to have two different iTunes for two different iPhones on one Windows User account?

Using Windows 7, iphone 4.
I've read as many threads on these forums and as many kb's as I could find, but I sttill can't figure it out. I have 2 iPhones. Let's call them, "wife" and "hubby". I want to have two separate iTunes, one for each of the phones. Hubby is the Windoows User. I don't want to set up a different Windows User for wife.
Hubby was the original iPhone. When I plug it in, iTunes recognized it has Hubby's iPhone. Then I unplug Hubby and close iTunes. I plug in Wife but iTunes stll comes up with Hubby under Devices and syncs Hubby's iTunes to Wife's iphone.
I've tried using the shift key when I open iTunes to set up two separate .itl files to no avail.
Is there a way to have two different iTunes for two different iPhones on one Windows User account?

What happens if you rename the iPhone "Wife" when it shows up as "Hubby", then choose a different set of apps/playlists to sync with? iTunes is supposed to be able to manage multiple devices, each with their own selection of content. Perhaps you "restored" "Wife" with a backup from "Hubby" when you first set things up which is now causing confusion.
To create a new library press and hold down the shift key as you click the icon to start iTunes and keep holding shift until asked to choose or create a library. You need to use the same technique to switch back.

Two soa domain with same name "TestSOADomain" sharing same SOA schema ?

I tried creating two soa domain with same name "TestSOADomain" (different path) sharing same SOA schema .However one domain came UP to Running mode and other domain going to AdminMode and "soa-infra" application of that domain is not active.
I do want to understand can this be possible with SOA ,ie. two soa domain sharing same SOA schema ?
If possible what are all the problems might come
1. While executing soa composites with asyncronous behaviour ?
2. How the polling services will work ?
3. will the XREF_DATA table ROW_NUMBER column inserted uniquely while inserting data from two different domain into same SOA schema ?

Each domain is expected to refer to its own unique database schema. Same SOA schema should not be shared by multiple SOA clusters/domains. It is technically possible though, I suppose, and still can run fine any one SOA environment at any given time with the other SOA environments/domains (sharing the same SOA schema) shutdown. It is not the general/recommended practice to share SOA schema across domains and there could be potential implications and unexpected behavior, particularly when the SOA environments pointing to the same schema are all running at a time.

Same query takes different time for two different users with same privileges

Hi,
Just wanted to know if it is possible for an INSERT query to take different amount of time for two different users for the same volume of data. If so, what could be the reason? I would like to add that we are not executing the query simultaneously. But it is always faster for user1(within 10-20 seconds) and slower for user2(takes around 8-10 minutes).

Show execution plan for each user. I think there is other reasons which you didn't not tell

How to use two different ojdbc14.jar for two web application.

I have two web application running in same tomcat, I need to use the two different ojdbc14.jar for two application, now both are taking the jars from tomcat common/lib directory, I tried copying the new ojdbc14.jar in web-inf/lib folder of one application, but it is not working.
Could you please let me know whether this will take the jar from tomcat by befault or from web-inf, and a solution how to proceed with this.

Yes, I tried removing the jars from common/lib, but as the connection string is mentioned inside the server.xml it is showing db connection error while trying to connect to the database

While doing so i am facing one problem as in internal table it is capturing the report as word by word with same row number nd different line number.
If anyone have worked on this before then help me out.
I am using CL_CI_TEST_SCAN as superclass and making the changes in the run method.

Reflection - Two packages/classes with same name

Hi There !
I am in a situation and I need some help, if anyone can help me.
I have two tools to work with different version of a server application. Now, the admin wants to have only one tool to work with both server app.
The problem is that the server app has a jar file with the API to be used to access it. One jar for each version.
Inside those jars files I have the same package and the same class ! But the implementation is diferent. So I will need to access one jar when accessing the old server app and another jar to access the new server app.
I have no idea how to do it.
I search arround google and I found that I can load a class at runtime and then with Reflection call its methods.
I made a test app (simple, just 2 different jars with same package and class name just printing a Hello World and Bye World) and it worked very well.
But when I tried to apply this to my code, I realize that one class need the reference of the other class...
For example, I have a class named Server and other called ServerStatus.
The Server class do the connection to the server and the ServerStatus get some server information. But the method that give me this information has a argument asking for an object of Server... like this:

serv.connect();
ServerStatus servStat = new ServerStatus();
servStat.getServerStatus(serv);I tried to do this with reflection but in the part that I need to invoke the method getServerStatus, I do not have the name of the class that is the argument (in this case Server).
Something like this:
Method m = serverClass.getMethod("getServerStatus", new Class[] {?????.class});
result = (Boolean)m.invoke(server, new Object[] {serverStatus});Do you have any ideiias to resolve this ?
Or something different from reflection to access two different implementations with same package and class name ?

When you declare a reference to be something more narrow than "Object" you're telling the compiler what methods and fields the referenced object supports. With a dynamically loaded class you can't do that at compile time, because the nature of the class isn't known until you load it at runtime.
That's why it's very handy if you know that the class you are to load implements some interface which is known at compile time. Then you can access the object through a reference to that interface.

Two Coherence instances with same JVM

I have a special case need your advice.
we have an architecture platform build on top coherence to support some system data (session persistence data...etc).
and we are building applications on top the platform, the applications also need coehrence to support Application distributed data.
which is the best practice:
- Load two coherence instances with two separate configs
- share same instance with same config file
to isolate clear two parts, we prefer first solution, but we don't know which is drawback for this solution.

I beg to differ: all you need to do is ensure that Coherence is loaded by two independent class loaders and not from a common parent class loader.
Of course, you can't reuse the same ports so you can't rely on the default Java properties for overrides, but you can use the operational configuration descriptor override feature to specify different settings for things like cluster address, and similar.

Automatic Deployment Rule - One ADR for Two Different Collection for Two Different time Intervals

I have a scenario where two collection of Windows 8.1 is made based on geographical location. One collection is for all the windows 8.1 machines in India and one collection is for all windows 8.1 machines in US. Now I have created one ADR to be deployed
to the Collection for Machines in India with a schedule.
My requirement is that can i use the same ADR for those two collection with different schedule. Say I want ADR to be deployed in India at say 10:PM IST and for US collection at say 10:00 PM PST.
Can I use one ADR with two different schedule and can be deployed to two different collection. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Couple of "bits" to help you one your patch automation quest:
A ADR is very much a 1:1:1 rule. It creates (or updates) ONE update group, deploys it to ONE collection, and you can provide ONE schedule. While you are more than capable of flipping said deployment time to use local time instead of UTC, in general
it's a very simple set of rules that are dogmatically run.
That said because of the "include" feature of collections it's not that hard to setup a good/robust patching pattern. What I recommend doing is building an ADR for each variance of deployment of patches or enforcement time. for example,
my ADRs look something like this:
Software Updates - Zero day enforced
Software Updates - Critical and Security 1 month enforced
Software Updates - Critical and Security 1 month no reboots
Exact terminology is up to you of course, but I find a good descriptive ADR name saves a lot of confusion. For each ADR I create an identical collection. From there I can use existing collections and a simple "include collection" rule
to bundle things up and make them part of the patching schedule of my choice. Anyone can now go into my "software update" folder, look at my collections, and know exactly what gets patched by what deadline.
Finally, don't be afraid to look into maintenance windows to trim down ADR count. Making a deployment available for a month before it goes enforced, then setting up groups of maintenance windows (one for each Friday of the week for example) can also
accomplish a similar goal by having machines auto-patch during their week but you only using one ADR.
So by having two "types" of collections to manage your patching (one to assign a ADR built by deployment deadlines, the other for exact update windows) you should be able to group most your workstations into a decent patch scheudle without being
too excessive about creating a billion ADRs.

Responding to two user events with same name

I have a situation where I create an ARRAY of User Events, one for each "domain" .
A "domain" is an area of DAQ: there is a SCXI domain, a CDAQ domain, an EtherCAT domain, several domains dealing with TCP instruments etc., about 25 domains all told. The name of the event is "New Channels This Domain".
When a new configuration comes to the PXI from the host, I sort out the channels by their domain and generate a user event for whichever domains have channels that have changed: more channels, fewer channels, differences. If a domain has no channels that have changed, I do not generate an event for it.
There is a handler for each domain: in that handler, I pick out the event for this domain from the array, and register to receive it. I have an event structure that responds to the NEW CHANNELS THIS DOMAIN event. Since it is an array, then no matter which domain I select, the name of the array is "New Channels This Domain".
All this works fine.
Now I have a situation where it makes sense to have one handler for TWO domains.
I can pick out TWO elements of the array just fine, and register them both. (See attached pic) But now, in the EDIT EVENTS FOR THIS CASE list, I have TWO events called "New Channels This Domain". I can select one for one case, and the other for the other case and it seems to work.

--- If I change the events in the clusters before, is it going to confuse LabVIEW?
--- Is there something I can do to change the name of the event after I pick it out of the array?
--- Is there something I SHOULD do at that point?
Like I said, it seems to work, but I'm leery of it staying that way - I've had event structures disturbed before (LV2010) when changing cluster order.

I would think it would be just like having two controls with the same label. It would never write to the different control with the same name. Now even if this is the case it could be confusing to a developer looking at the code, which is why I strongly suggest having unique names. But if you don't I suspect every thing would work fine, just have a bold comment or something explaining what each case actually is handling.
