Different verify permission results

Out of curiousity, I ran verify permissions from App/Utilities/Disk Utility, after having just repaired permissions running on the Tiger start-up DVD. I got the same 6 "Permissions Differ", except the "should-be's" in one are the same as the "they-are's" in the other (opposites of one another). I get the below verifying from my HD:
Permissions differ on ./Library/Widgets, should be drwxr-xr-x , they are drwxrwxr-x
Permissions differ on ./usr/lib/php/build/Makefile.global, should be -r--r--r-- , they are -r-xr-xr-x
Permissions differ on ./usr/lib/php/build/acinclude.m4, should be -r--r--r-- , they are -r-xr-xr-x
Permissions differ on ./usr/lib/php/build/mkdep.awk, should be -r--r--r-- , they are -r-xr-xr-x
Permissions differ on ./usr/lib/php/build/phpize.m4, should be -r--r--r-- , they are -r-xr-xr-x
Permissions differ on ./usr/lib/php/build/scanmakefilein.awk, should be -r--r--r-- , they are -r-xr-xr-x
I got the opposite from my Tiger start-up DVD. For instance the 1st reads "should be drwxrwxr-x, they are drwxr-xr-x" and the others read "should be -r-xr-xr-x, they are -r--r--r--".
I did verifie my disk, while running on the start-up DVD and it checked ok.

As I understand it, Repair Permissions uses information in the .pkg bundles in the /Library/Receipts directory. That directory is "relative to the top level of the directory hierarchy", which means it is dependent upon your boot volume. When you change boot devices, you change which Receipts directories is used. If you have installed software updates that contain different permissions than the original system software, only by booting from your hard drive will Repair Permissions see those updated permissions.

Different set of results

The searches for:
o ring
and
o-ring
Return a different number of results.
Should they be the same seeing that "-" is a non searchable character?

If character "-" is not included in search characters, is that correct that "o-ring" will be treated as a phrase search?
I found the following in Dev studio help:

Inclusion of original punctuation marks in search query phrases returns more relevant results.
It says "More" which made me think ... maybe not "phrase". Please explain, thanks.

Which version of mac os x and version of photoshop are you using?
See if going to System Preferences>Accessibility>Display and the setting the Cursor Size to Normal resolves the issue.

Utility help ? verify permission for Macintosh HD

I have just run verify permission for Macintosh HD and this has appeared:
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DesktopServicesPriv.framework/Versions/A/Reso urces/Locum" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Any idea why this ha come up and any advice on how to fix ?

Verify Disk results, confusing.. Can they be the cause of system lock ups?

I have been experiencing strange freezes on my Mac Pro 2008 system.
My boot disk is a 50% full 128GB SSD from Crucial and is running beautifully fast however for the past couple of weeks my system often freezes for anything from 3 seconds to 30 seconds and then the Finder restarts.
After the Finder restarts everything continues running smoothly. As if nothing ever happend, no error reports, no apps crashed, nothing.
I have verified disk permissions and verified the disk itself in Disk Utility but I am not quite sure what these results mean and if they could be the cause of these random lock ups.
here are the results:

I would really appreciate it if someone that knows their way around this stuff could help me troubleshoot this.
As for the problem of the system locking up it does not happen in the same application consistently.
Often it happens in Firefox but it could equally often happen when working in Photoshop, browsing files in the Finder or trying to access the Spotlight search via the keyboard shortcut.
When the system locks up I get the spinning beach ball and I can still move the mouse and click and even still access CMD+TAB app switcher, switch spaces and all those things, just applications become non responsive.

These are innocuous errors that you may safely ignore. However the disk error is a problem. Do the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

Different Risk Analysis Results with the same user from 2 different RAR

I've loaded the same Risks, Rules, etc, into 2 GRC RAR environments (Sandbox and Quality systems); both of them are connected with the same SAP ECC system. But when I do a User Risk analysis (authorization level), the result from Sandbox is different from Quality system. I donu2019t have users or roles mitigated yet, users are synchronized, rules are exactly the same and I donu2019t know what happen??... Please, help me.

If I do a Full Sync of users to the same ECC system from both RAR boxes, I got different number of users loaded (i.e. 18757 vs. 18141), similar case with the full sync of roles. (13100 vs. 13150).
If I load exactly the same set of functions to both RAR systems and I generate the rules, I got the same problem, different number of rules is generated.
I've verified both RAR configuration and they are the same (excluded users, roles mitigated, etc.)
Is it a normal behavior? What could be wrong?

Verify Permissions Results don't stick

I'm tracing another problem and decided to check "Verify permissions" again, having done it a couple days ago.
What I am seeing, whether or not I log in as my Admin account or as root, is that no matter that Repair permissions finishes, when I Verify Permissions immediately thereafter, the same errors exist. Here's a copy of the results:

well, ok ... hen is it not an issue that despite permissions being listed as fixed, that they appear, once again, to be the same errors?
I mean, if it's insignificant, then I'll not worry about "why" it does that ... and move on in trying to fix the original problem ... of which you are familiar anyway.

Office PDF Print and office abobe PDF creator(adobe plugin) create different result. It seems that Adobe PDf creater improves line thickness to 1pt instead of 0,3pt. Is there a setting to change to original 0,3 because this 0,3 are standard line thickness for our documents. with adobe V9 the line was 0,3pt. (we need thin, mid and thick lines)
After 2 day's google searching this is the last change for hope :-)

Thanks a lot for the fast reply, i have tested it with 300dpi but I didn't get a different result. The bad thing is that not all lines getting thicker. if there is no arrow or ball at the end of the line the line thickness will not change (see Pic). I think this is a Acrobat error, i don't think that this will improve the pdf quality if the progam changes only some lanes and not all to 1pt.
I Think we must downgrade to version 9.

Call same smartform in program with different text - same result

I'm facing the following problem:
In a program, a certain smartforms form can be called multiple times. Only the text can change, depending on the user action.
However, the resulting form does not show different text for the different actions. The first time it is used, the text is correct, but from the second time onwards, the text in the form will still be same than the first time.
The text type in the smartform is 'include text', so I can see in the standard text transaction (so10) that the text was indeed changed correctly. But still it shows the same text in the result.
Is there some option I have missed?

You can use COMMIT_TEXT.
The system keeps all text modules for which you defined 'storage in update task' in the corresponding text object in the text memory. As soon as it updates the corresponding application object, it must also place the text modules into the log file.
The function module COMMIT_TEXT generates for the text modules in the text object a CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK statement in accordance with the action to be executed (delete, create, change).
No COMMIT WORK is created. This must be executed by the application program.
If you do not specify OBJECT, NAME, ID, and LANGUAGE, the system transfers all texts from the text memory. To limit the function to certain texts, enter values (fully or generically) in the above fields. The system then selects all texts that match the selections in the fields up to the first ' * '.
By default, the system deletes texts from the text memory as soon as they are written to the log file. If you want to keep updated texts in the text memory, call the function module with the parameter KEEP = 'X'. The system then keeps the texts in the text memory and flags them as updated. When calling COMMIT_TEXT again, the system ignores these texts. If you change such a text again during the transaction (for example, using SAVE_TEXT or DELETE_TEXT), the system deletes the flag. However, you need another COMMIT_TEXT to update the text.

Correlation Between several Different Arrays & Saving Results Into a.CSV file

Hello Everyone!
I have 3 arrays from which I initialize a .CSV file when I run my VI (
as you can see in the example file.)( I use data from other arrays as
well but it is not important )
The First array "customer Number" can be from 0 - 15
The second array "Customer Present" is a Boolean.
The Third array will contain some fix values like " milk, meat, clothing....." it will have 14 different categories.
The Fifth array will contain the quantity of the products from each category from the previous array.
My job is to add in my initialized .CSV file the values from the 4th and 5th array but only for the customers that are present.
The result should look something like the second part of the doc I give( which sadly, I created by hand)
If no customer has bought something from a category it should not be mentioned.
Also it would be nice for me if I separated the file for each customer ( create 16 different files )
I hope someone has some idea, because I don't.
I figured out that I should have the bool array into a case structure and if the customer is present then........

I don't understand where correlation fits into this...
It seems to me that you're trying to write out a file from the values on front panel controls, rather than the other way around, as Bernd was suggesting. I see no actual read functions in your screenshot. What does your front panel look like? Can you post the VI and give a brief description on how it's supposed to be used? You seem to have some front panel arrays that you're indexing out. For this you should be using auto-indexing rather than using a fixed constant. Also, the local variables are completely unnecessary - what I see is text-based programming.

Different Risk Analysis Results with 10.0 and 10.1

I do not understand why I get different results with 10.0 and 10.1. Exactly the same ruleset is applied!
Definition in 10.0 and 10.1:
Analyzed Role (which definitely contains the SOD):
Version GRC 10.0 finds the SOD S_FI14 and displays it. In 10.1 nothing is displayed...Any ideas what's the problem?

We had similar issues with 10 and 10.1.
We applied an SAP Note about logical groups and the ruleset, it did not work.
What did work:
When performing Risk Analysis, remove the Ruleset selection criteria (use the minus button).

1.Create an image icon using : Personalizatoin.
2.You need to extend the controller for catching the event(have fireaction on the above bean)
3.Based on the event navigate to the destination page.

Sysprep /generalize resets windows update cache. (3 machines 3 different windows updates results)

Hello,
I have a process monthly that I run windows updates on all physical and virtual server templates.
once this process is complete I sysprep all of the templates to create images.
- upon bootup I am getting inconsistent results from all of the
operating systems ( missing windows updates ) and the update history is reset every time.
Some months the windows update history is correct and there are no updates missing, but other months there are tons of missing updates.
For example I just did a test from the same template
- first machine 60 missing updates
- second machine 38 missing updates
- third machine 45 missing updates.
what I'm looking to do is save time by not having to re-run windows update every time for deployment.
I know the templates are up to date I've even verified with the baseline security analyzer.

Could you try to use the SkipRearm option to sysprep the image again? As far as I know the sysprep operation won’t configure the update related options, Microsoft recommends
that you use the SkipRearm setting if you plan on running Sysprep multiple times on a computer.
