Different within hidden (P_DATFR + P_DATTO) Vs RDAT fields at Program /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE
Anyone of you know the differences of SAP program /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE having different selection type of Date range (Field RDAT, P_DATFR, P_DATTO) for variant creation dealing with dynamic date?
Why SAP created both hidden P_DATFR and P_DATTO field?

Insert Stmt behaving differently within a PL/SQL block than independently
I have an INSERT INTO statement that is behaving different within a PL/SQL block than it does if ran as an independent SQL query. When executed within a PL/SQL block the INSERT statement does insert rows, but only less than 50% of the rows returned by the SELECT statement used by the INSERT. There are no constraints and the only check on the destination table is a NOT NULL for supplier_id column.
BEGIN
INSERT INTO suppliers (supplier_id, supplier_name)
SELECT account_no, name FROM customers WHERE city = 'Newark';
END;Can anyone help me with this?
ThanksThought this sounded familiar:

Hi,
I am customizing the bug workitem workflow.
I want ot select different lists, from the gllobal list, for fields basd upon user group
I am aware that I can use "when" clauses in the allowed/suggested values of the field.
My question is : how do I get the group(s) that the current user is in and how do use this to select different lists?Hi!
You can not do this through standard way. You must to create the custom work item control:
http://witcustomcontrols.codeplex.com/
And get the user group through IIdentityManagementService.
IIdentityManagementService IdentityService = _workItem.Store.TeamProjectCollection.GetService<IIdentityManagementService>();
TeamFoundationIdentity _curid = null;
_workItem.Store.TeamProjectCollection.GetAuthenticatedIdentity(out _curid);
string _group = "Admin";
var _gr = IdentityService.ReadIdentity(IdentitySearchFactor.AccountName, _group, MembershipQuery.Direct, ReadIdentityOptions.None);
if (_gr.Members.Where(s => s.Identifier == _curid.Descriptor.Identifier).Count() > 0) return true; -
I have a problem with elements 8. When ever I start a new project, the program searches for the old, latest used filmmaterial, I have used before. That means, if I use a different DVD, it take so much time, until the program starts. So how can I stopp the automatically uploading of old material?
ThanksYou have 2 unreachable statements in this method.
public static int eval(String s2, String op, String s3) {
return lookup(s2);
return lookup(op);
return lookup(s3);
} You're missing a } at the end of this method:
public static int lookup(String s) {
for(int k = 0; k < symbols.length; k++){
String symbol = symbols[k];
if(s.equals(symbol))
return k;
}You have some loose } and ; at the end of the file:

Update the data into the ZTABLE fields thru program logic ..?
hi all,
i have ZTABLE1,ZTABLE2,ZTABLE3, and this tables like ALV grids using object methods.
in the same table fields now i wanted to update the data into the ZTABLE fields thru program logic .
could anyone please help me ....
please provide if anyone of have any program logic that would be helpfull to me.
thanks in advance...
srinivas....Hi Srinivas,
The following statements are used to upload the data into custom tables.
1. Modify
2. Update
3. Insert
if you are using OO ALV, you should enable the 'SAVE' button in the main toolbar. if the user press the save button, then you should upload the data to the custom table.
please find the example code, in this example 'PERFORM F_SAVE_DATA'(here i gave the message only, you write your own logic here) is used to save the data in custom table.

Color looks different within a document in different page
Hi,
I created a square with a green stroke (RGB-0.255.0) that I had placed on different pages within a document.
On some pages, the green looks perfect and some other pages it looks like it is converted in CMYK, The green doesn't look the same.
Does anyone have an idea why?
ThanksThere's probably transparency of some sort on those pages and your transparency blend space is set to CMYK.

I need to unhide the window or field that allows me to DIRECTLY enter a different URL. I do not want to use the search engine. I want to manually enter the URL of my choice and go DIRECTLY there.
So, how do I unhide the URL window?It is still there at the left most part part of the address bar, but you have to press and hold the trackpad to use it.

Search for certain Characters within set of Characters - in a field
Hello -
I know a search can be made within a field for a word, but I am not to sure, or I don't know how to accomplish this...To do a search in a field for certain characters within a larger set of charcters.
For example: I would search, in the Call Description field, for DXXXX within CA0001DXXXXYYY or search for LXXXX within CA0001LXXXXYYY, the X is numeric characters and the Y's are Alpha characters. Can crystal accomplish this....
Thanks for your gracious help....
G.Like I said earlier, this code:
If instr({database_field}, 'DXXXX') > 0 then "String Found" else "Not Found"
cannot be used in a Record Selection formula.
The following code can be used in the Record Selection formula:
Instr({database field}, "string") > 0
If you wish to search for 'D4444' in the field and return records where a match is found, you would use:
Instr({database field}, "D4444") > 0

Different calendar styles: seeded vs. custom date fields
All,
In several reports we prompt users to select an opportunity close date (seeded date field) that is within a given period of interest using a prompt on the close date field. The calendar style provides two buttons to select the starting and ending points. Then the user must select the refresh link to narrow the date range and then pick the first and second dates. This requires five clicks. Users find this cumbersome.
In contrast, we have a couple of reports that use a custom date field and users are prompted to select a beginning and end date. For this custom date field the calendar style provides a calendar button that allows you to directly select the first and second date without having to filter the range of possible dates. This is obviously only two clicks and is preferred by users.
Does anyone know how to get the "nice" date picker to apply to seeded date fields as in the first case?
Thanks,

Audio Levels Are Different within program
For some reason when I am editing a multi-track project I seem to get three different levels as I go along. When I am editing a single file the levels come out as one thing. When I get the levels good, usually around -4 or so I play them back on the multi-track editor and I'm well up and over 0 into the red. On top of that when I import back into the Final Cut all the levels are completely different wiht some being low and some behing higher than in Soundtrack Pro. All level adjustments made in Final Cut were cleared out so any project I bring in doesn't have any level variations.
Thanks!!Also, in the sequence the Edit in Audition option is greyed out? I can't round trip and work through the clips individually? Is there something I need to switch on or something?

In production system the value is displayed as 0. where as in QA the negative value gets displayed.
The version of the form is same in both the system.
Also I have speficied the Currency/quantity fields in the interface.
I did a bit of debugging and found that in the generated function module of the form there is a difference.
QA:
PERFORM %OUTPUT USING 'NETWR' %WORKAREA4-NETWR 'CURR' 'P' 'HEADER-WAERS' HEADER-WAERS ' '.
PRD:
PERFORM %OUTPUT USING 'NETWR' %WORKAREA4-NETWR 'CURR' ' ' 'HEADER-WAERS' HEADER-WAERS ' '.
You can see that the VALUE P (ABAP type for curr) is passed in QA but not in PRD.
I am not able to understand what causes this code change.
Has anybody come across this problem?
Note: I am using copy of MEDRUCK for the interface.Thank you for posting your solution like a good community member! I was having the same problem and your post helped. Many Thanks

Different view in table and screen for field
I need to display EKKN-PS_PSP_PNR in one of my purchasing reports. This is the WBS Element. the problem is it is displayed different on the screen and in the database
for eg: When i extract it from the database it appears as a number, but on the screen when you click on the record, it is a bunch of characters. And it is the characters that I need to display. How to do the conversion. thank youHi,
Use
CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_INPUT Conversion External > Internal WBS Element Number
CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_OUTPUT Conversion Internal > External WBS Element Number
routines to convert the data as you see on the screen.
Cheers

I am developing material in Captivate 8. The option under Preferences to "restrict keyboard tabbing to slide items only" is definitely checked, but tabbing still leaves the project screen and moves into browser fields in both preview and published views. Any ideas why this is happening?
This error message is explained on MSDN site (Article Q313181). Here is an excerpt:
SYMPTOMS
While using the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC, you may experience the following exception:
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Can't start a cloned connection while in manual transaction mode.
CAUSE
This error occurs when you try to execute multiple statements against a SQL Server database with the JDBC driver while in manual transaction mode (AutoCommit=false) and while using the direct (SelectMethod=direct) mode. Direct mode is the default mode for the driver.
RESOLUTION
When you use manual transaction mode, you must set the SelectMethod property of the driver to Cursor, or make sure that you use only one active statement on each connection as specified in the "More Information" section of this article. -
Hello sap guys,
I need to block a field in a standard program, so it couldn't be modified, so when the user saves the transaction, the program stores always the same value that is shown at first in the program.
How can I do this, what concept should I use?
Thanks for your help !!Depends on which field / screen / transaction.
Some such can be set in customising, sometimes Transaction Variant will achieve this, otherwise may need to use exit of some type - Possibly FI Substitution, Business Transaction Event, Customer Exit, BADI. May even need to be enhancement or repair in some cases.
Suggest you post more details so forum readers can respond in more detail.

Add fields to Algorithm /SAPAPO/HEUR_PLAN_SEQUENCE_MAN
Dear Colleagues,
Under certain circumstances Production Scheduler need to sequence some operations manually so we are using Heuristic SAP003 "Schedule Sequence Manually".
In order to achieve this, it would be very useful (and with real added value to the scheduler task) to have some extra field in the "List of operations" when using the algorithm /SAPAPO/HEUR_PLAN_SEQUENCE_MAN
The field we need to add are stored at Planned Order/Production order level and are relevant for all operations in it. The fields are specific characteristics:
The question: Is there a non ABAP way we can ask the system to add the required fields in to the layout of the "Sequence to be planned" list, so the Production Scheduler can take better decisions?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Rubén P.

You could create a Visualization Profile in SPRO - SCM - PPDS - Product Planning Table - Define Visualization Profile.
The characteristics will be available in the selection fields of heuristic Sequence Schedule. So, the planner will be able to perform a automatic sequence characteristics based.
Unfortunately for manually this solution is not possible.
Below you have the explanation of the profile (from SAP Help).
Thanks, Marius
Define Visualization Profiles
In this IMG activity, you can define the visualization
profiles for the display of the characteristics
in the sequence schedule, in the product planning table, in
the product view and in planned order management. You can also
define visualization profiles for the display of restrictions
in the sequence schedule or in the restriction hit view of the
product planning table to limit the number of restrictions displayed.
Example
For example, you can define a profile for the 10 most important
characteristics and specify a colored background for these characteristics.
These characteristics are then displayed in the permitted applications. In the
sequence schedule, these characteristics are then displayed in additional
columns in the scheduled orders section, for example.
Activities
1. First, enter a description of the profile undeVisualization Profile
2. Then under Characteritics/Restrictions enter up to 10 characteristics or restrictions. You can define the column number in which the characteritic is to be displayed in the applications and a color for the background.
3. Under Application define whether the profile is only to be used for a certain application or whether it is to apply to all applications.
4. If you only want to use the visualization profile for one particular line or one particular line network, then define the iPPE nodes of the line or the line network as well as the application.
Further notes
You can also create visualization profiles directly in the sequence
schedule:
If you want to define a visualization profile for restrictions, you
can do so in the restrictions chart by accessing the function
Create Visualization Profile via a function key.
If you want to create a visualization profile for characteristics,
choose Edit --> Create Profile for Characteristics from the menu. In
this case, the system determines the 10 most frequent characteristics among the
scheduled orders and automatically creates a visualization profile for these
characteristics.
If you choose
Edit --> Create Profile for Characteristic -
Online
, the system determines the 10 most frequently occurring
characteristics and provides them for selection. You can then select the
characteristics you require and then choose the
Create Profile
function
key. The system then creates a visualization profile for all the characteristics
you selected.
If you also want to use a profile that was created automatically in other
applications, such as in the product planning table, you have to make the
necessary setting adjustments manually in Customizing.
