Differentiate between shortcut keys Alpha (keyboard) Enter and Number Pad (10 key) Enter

I need to be able to differentiate between the Keyboard enter and the 10 key enter (see image below) using a shortcut key in Captivate and/or Flash. These keys are used for two different reasons in the application that I am creating a simulation for.  Using ENTER allows the learner to use either key to continue with the simulation. I would like to force use of each of these keys differently.

Hi Rastapote, and welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having a problem with the numeric keypad on your HP Compaq 6830s Notebook PC. This is a business Notebook and you would get the best answer to your question on the HP Enterprise Business Community forum as they deal with the Business products.
I hope this information helps.
Have a great day!

Besweet, I'm having the very same problem with 60GB colour which was bought new and worked for 6 months before suddenly just not being recognised by PC. I hadn't changed anything at all.
I've followed all troubleshooting advice and reinstalled and updated iTunes and iPod updater software but all troubleshooting routes seem to hit the dead end of either the need to access the iPod via the PC (which isn't possible as it's not showing up at all) or the iPod in disc mode stuck at "ok to disconnect".
It's still under 1yr warranty so will have to take to a dealer.
I'm sorry that's not much help for you but at least you know it's not a unique problem.

  • Wireless keyboard has NO NUMBER PAD.

I will be buying a Mac mini in a few days and had planned to get the new Apple wireless keyboard to go with it. But it has no numeric pad. I need the expanded keyboard and I like wireless, so should I get the earlier Apple wireless keyboard that has it? Or is there another supplier that would be a better choice for my new mini with the latest OS? Thanks.

I ended up finding my solution at Frye's, a desktop set from Gear Head. It's Bluetooth and has the white glossy look of classic Mac hardware, and thus matches my Apple Remote nicely. They keyboard is a bit like a laptop, so don't expect the feel of a normal heavier keyboard. It does have a full key set, with the sole exception of a separate Eject key - if you hold down F12 it performs that action for you. The mouse is a bit small, but considering use with a mini as a media center, it is fine for sitting on an end table next to my remote. The only problem I've had with Bluetooth's performance in any sense is a latency when reconnecting after a long idle - you have to be patient. On the whole I am very pleased I found this product and it fulfills exactly what I wanted. I can certainly use it halfway across my house.

  • Apple Keyboard with number pad doesn't work with Mac Pro?

I have a Mac Pro, and have used an Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth) with it for quite a while, with no problems. But then my keyboard broke and I ordered a replacement Apple Keyboard with a number pad (not bluetooth). This keyboard doesn't work with my Mac Pro. I have it plugged in, but I can't get the Mac Pro to consistently recognize that there is a USB keyboard connected to it. What magical stuff do I have to do to get the keyboard to be fit for purpose?

It would not hurt to try an SMC Reset. (But if it does not help, it adds credence to lllaass assertion that the keyboard is not working.)

  • This might be a simple question.   On those sites that do not differentiate between models when on the internet I.e. Facebook when after your comment and you cannot hit "enter" on an iPad for examp. And speed is slow to connect.  What is = to post?

This might be a simple question. On those sites that do not differentiate between CRT, laptop, tablet etc. such as an iPad Mini and using the Facebook site fir example when going to post a comment and you do not have a enter button on the IPad and the speed is slow how do you get your comments to post if we do not have a enter button?

  • FN -Function- key not working between my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and my ipad2; any suggestions?

My new Bluetooth keyboard -Logitech- features a Function FN key that's not working, even though the rest of the letter, #s and signs are. Thank you for looking into it!

Here we go again!  The return key on my iPad stopped working again.
I don't think I posted more information here but on the Logitech site.  Basically, rather than go through all the steps of resetting the iPad, I used canned air to blow out under the return key.  I had to lift the key a bit with a pen knife to get better air flow.  I think I've done this twice.
Well, this morning the return key stopped working as well as the |\ key.  I sprayed and sprayed with no success.  This  time I had no system upgrade: just one day working and the next not.
This time I tried another trick that will be cumbersome.  I used the wireless keyboard from my wife's iMac.  The bad news is that the pairing wouldn't hold.  I finally figured out that the Apple wireless keyboard was still listed on the iMac.  Once I unpaired the keyboard from the iMac I was able to pair it with my iPad.
The return key and  the |\ key work fine.
It's going to be awkward carrying around the Apple wireless keyboard, but it does fit over the Logitech keyboard.  And I'll have to remember to carry extra AA batteries:(

  • Difference between primary key and primary index

    Dear All,
Hi... .Could you pls tell me the difference between primary key and primary index.
    Thanks...

    Hi,
Primary Key : It is one which makes an entry of the field unique. No two distinct rows in a table can have the same value (or combination of values) in those columns.
Eg: first entry is 111, if you again enter value 111 , it doesnot allow 111 again. similarly for the strings or characters or numc etc. Remember that for char or numc or string 'NAME' is not equal to 'name'.
Primary Index: this is related to the performance .A database index is a data structure that improves the speed of operations in a table. Indices can be created using one or more columns, providing the basis for both rapid random lookups and efficient ordering of access to records. The disk space required to store the index is typically less than the storage of the table (since indices usually contain only the key-fields according to which the table is to be arranged, and excludes all the other details in the table), yielding the possibility to store indices into memory from tables that would not fit into it. In a relational database an index is a copy of part of a table. Some databases extend the power of indexing by allowing indices to be created on functions or expressions. For example, an index could be created on upper(last_name), which would only store the uppercase versions of the last_name field in the index.
In a database , we may have a large number of records. At the time of retrieving data from the database based on a condition , it is a burden to the db server. so whenever we create a primary key , a primary index is automatically created by the system.
If you want to maintain indices on other fields which are frequently used in where condition then you can create secondary indices.
    Reward points if helpful.
    Thanks,
    Sirisha..

  • BUG: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT KEYS DO NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE A SERVICE (A WORKFLOW)

BUG: KEYBOARD SHORTCUT KEYS DO NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE A SERVICE (A WORKFLOW)
When you assign a keyboard shortcut to a Service (such as a Service Workflow created in Automator) using the System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts, if that shortcut key combination includes the Command key, pressing that shortcut will always successfully activate the Service. No problem there.
However, shortcut key combinations that do not include the Command key (for example, the shortcut key combo Ctrl-Shift-D) WILL NOT activate the Service in any newly opened application, until you click on the Services Menu option in that application.
As soon as you click on the application's Services Menu, this seems to bind the shortcut key combo to the Service, and thereafter, that keyboard shortcut will activate the Service in that particular app. But if you then quit and reopen the app, you'll find the Service will once again lose its binding to the shortcut key combination and will thus fail to work again.
This means that shortcut key combinations such as Ctrl-D, Ctrl-Shift-D, F15, Alt-F15, etc are not really viable shortcuts for Services, because they will not work in any newly-opened application until you click on the Services Menu in that application.
This bug thus greatly limits the shortcuts that you can employ for Services, because you can only reliably use shortcut key combos that contain the Command key. This is a fault that Apple really needs to fix. This is a very old glitch: I notice it is present in Snow Leopard 10.6.8, as well as Yosemite 10.10.1.
This bug does not apply to application shortcuts, however, or to other shortcuts in the Shortcuts Preference Pane, just to Services shortcuts (including the Mac's default Services, or any Services you make yourself using Workflows on the Automator software).
    To give some examples:
The following keyboard shortcuts for Services WILL NOT work until you click on the Services Menu in the application you are using (and they will cease working again when you quit and reopen the app):
    Ctrl-X
    Ctrl-Shift-X
    Ctrl-Alt-X
    Ctrl-Alt-Shift-X
    Alt-X
    Alt-Shift-X
    F1, F2, F3, etc
So until Apple fixes this bug, the above type of key combinations, that do not contain the Command key, are best avoided as shortcuts for Services. It is particularly unfortunate that function keys F1 to F19 do not work reliably, as these would make great single-key shortcuts to Services.
However, the following sort of keyboard shortcuts for Services, all containing the Command key, once set up will always work without fail:
    Command-Alt-X
    Command-Ctrl-X
    Command-Shift-X
    Command-Ctrl-Shift-X
    Command-Alt-Ctrl-Shift-X
    Command-F1, Command-F2, Command-F3, etc
So all the above can be reliably used as shortcuts to Services.
    Here X denotes keyboard keys such as A, B, C, 1, 2, 3, =, \, [, etc.
Note that even for keyboard shortcuts containing the Command key, you may very occasionally need to click the Services Menu to get them to work initially in an application (notably in the System Preferences application itself). But if this is necessary, it is just required once when they are first set up, and thereafter the shortcuts containing the Command key will always work without fail.
The above was tested on Yosemite 10.10.1, but most likely applies to other versions of OS X as well, as I believe this bug is an old one. This bug is definitely present in Snow Leopard 10.6.8, because I have observed this same fault in an old Mac I have that runs Snow Leopard.
I have reported this bug to Apple, so hopefully they will see my report and act upon it. However, it might be an idea if others also report this problem of Services shortcuts not working property, to ensure that Apple get the message. You can report a bug to Apple via their bug feedback page here.

Exactly where do you want to use a GO BACK "shortcut" in Bridge?  Maybe I don't even understand what you mean by Go Back.  Bridge is only a file browser, nothing more. It doesn't open, edit, manipulate or save files at all.
Are you simply referring to going back to view a folder that you viewed before?
Please don't take this a criticism.  As someone who will gladly pay money not to have to learn any shortcuts at all, I'm just puzzled and curious, that's all.

  • Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 8 Reader shortcut keys

Did Adobe change all the shortcut keys for Acrobat and Acrobat Reader?
I've looked in the help files and none of what is listed as shortcut keys seems to be working. This is very annoying.
I've also noticed some of the regular tools in Reader are missing like the type select tool.
Does anyone know if there is a way to customize the short cut keys like in Illustrator or InDesign so that I can get full functionality back from Reader?

I have the same problem. Just installed Acrobat 9 and wanted to zoom in and out with strg(cmd)+/- and nothing happened. I was also looking for a way to customize the short cuts, but didn't find anything.
In the Acrobat help file (LiveDoc) the short cuts for zooming are listed as follows (Keyboard Shortcuts > Navigating a PDF):
    English version:
Zoom in: Ctrl(Cmd) + equal sign
    Zoom out: Ctrl(Cmd) + hyphen
    German version:
Zoom in: Ctrl(Cmd) + plus sign
Zoom out: Ctrl(Cmd) + minus sign
I am using the German version and the plus/minus sign doesn't work. BUT the equal sign works for zooming in while the hyphen doesn't work (probably because of the German keyboard). But Mike Powney said none of these work in his version...
So I wonder if this is a bug, or if the help file is incorrect??
By the way in the German Illustrator CS3 the English short cuts are predefined and working. Although I have been annoyed that they have not kept the old (plus/minus) short cuts like in PS or ID.
I wish the "so praised" consistency of the CS products would show in minor details like this...

  • Differentiate between Simple, Medium and Complex Queries.

    Hi Gurus,
I am a Tech. Architect on this new project. I would like to know how to differentiate between Simple, Medium and Complex Queries in BW because I need this info to work on the Estimates. Has this differentiation got anything to do with the Backend config also?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Chandu.

    Hi
You need to understand the requirements and consider the following before you classify........
    1) Queries that are based on multiple key figures--which may result in cell definition.
    2) Queries with complex calculations.
    3) Queries that are based on Variable Exits

  • Shortcuts: Change brightness to F1 and F2 key from

    Good morning All.
The F1 and F2 keys on my Apple Wireless Keyboard no longer control the brightness settings for my LED Cinema Display.  The shortcut has changed to F14 and F15.  The keyboard itself still works fine - and the F1 and F2 buttons do still work.  It's not a hardware issue.  I'm on OS X 10.9.4.  I've had this Mac Mini for 2 years, sometime in the last 10 days this shortcut changed.
I want to change the shortcut to F14/F15 to F1/F2 . I called Apple to ask how I could change the shortcut back to F1 and F2, but they did no know the answer. I've gone to Keyboard Settings/Shortcut/Display - and I see "Decrease display brightness" set to F14.  Above that it says "To change a shortcut, select it, click the key combination, and then type the new keys" I could not figure out what that implied since I don't have an F14 or F15 button on my keyboard.
Thanks for anyone's help!  I can barely use the screen now, too dark!
    -Awatto1976

Thank you for articulating - same thing just happened to me today...out of no where. No changes made... but brightness F1 and F2 keys stopped working. After reading your post, found they got remapped to F13 + F14. Trying BTT and other remapping apps w/no success.
    Any updates?

  • I have two printers of the same model registed in eprintcenter and can't differentiate between them.

I have two printers of the same model registed in eprintcenter and can't differentiate between them.
I've tried change varios names in each printer's settings but they still show up in eprintcenter with the model name. What can I do to change the name so I can diffentiate the two prineters?

Hi mptpro, the way to differentiate between your two printers within your ePrintCenter account is by their email address. The model name is automatically detected when you add the printer to your account and is not configurable but you can set the email address is. By giving each printer a distinctively different and meaningful email address you'll be able to differentiate between the two.
To change a printer's email address:
log in to your ePrintCenter account
    click on the Printers tab
select one of the printers and you will see the current email address for that printer just above the job history table
click the Change button to the right of the address and enter the desired name in the dialog box that opens
    repeat for the second printer
Hope this helps answer your question

  • IMovie: is there a shortcut key to zoom timeline in and out?

iMovie: is there a shortcut key to zoom timeline in and out? I'm on imovie 11 version 9.0.4
    posted: Tuesday October 30, 2012

The normal way to zoom in and out would be to use the thumbnail slider. I am not aware of any keyboard shortcut for this.
Here is a list of the keyboard shortcuts for iMovie.
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/#mov3ae8c33b
Interestingly, in Final Cut Pro, there is a keyboard shortcut for zooming the timeline. For example, Shift-Z will scale the project to fit the timeline, and command+ and command- will zoom.
