Differentiate direct and forwarded calls

Hi,
I have a question. I use 2 phones. One is private (iphone) and other is bussiness. After hours I have only private phone with me and bussiness phone is set to redirect all calls to my private number. The problem is that iphone does not show that the call was forwarded to my private number.
On Blackberry, Windows phone and android I can see little icon that shows that the caller was calling my bussiness (or any other) phone and was redirected to my private number. Is there any possibility of such notification?
The point is that when somebody that I dont have in contacts calls, I must know if the call is going to be personal or bussiness, before I answer itor
To clarify:
- carrier supports this because it works on other mobile OS-s.
- I see original caller ID not my bussiness phone number when the call is forwarded.

On an iPhone, sorry, no. The forwarded calls will appear just like any other call.

I have noticed that call waiting and forward calls some times disabled automatically, so everytime I have again to go to call setting and do reactivation for call waiting and forward calls for both SIMS
Kindly need your support why this issue keep repeating!!!

    Hi ziyadalsayed,
Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
The Call settings such as forwarding are maintained by your network carrier, you may be able to change this section however your network carrier can change it back to defaults.
I suggest that you contact them first to clarify if they have issues using this function on your account at the moment.
I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause,

  • HT4994 I have an Iphone 4 and can not forward calls. every time I put the number in the call forward field it jumps back a page and the button moves to off. can anyone assist.

I can not forward calls. I go to call forwarding, turn it on, copy and paste my phone number into the correct field (including the international dialling code).
I then tap the Call Forwarding button, which takes me back one stage and the Call Forwarding button goes to off after a couple of seconds. Anyone who can help?

Yes, a blocked call will go immediately to your voice mail.
If you would rather not have that behavior, ask your cellular carrier if you can block that person through the carrier.

  • If a Friends and Family number is set to forward calls, does it count as a Friends and Family call?

I just want to make sure this is correct and that I'm not misinterpreting what I'm seeing on my call summary (I just started doing this, so haven't gotten an actual bill yet).
I have a non-Verizon Friends and Family number that I set up to forward to my Verizon cell phone.
The on-line call summary list is showing these as coming from the originating number.
I thought that since the number is actually going to my Friends and Family number, and then being forwarded from there, that it would show up as a Friends and Family call, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
If anyone could verify how calls going to a Friends and Family number and then being forwarded to a Verizon phone should be categorized, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks.

    Hi Ersin,
Exception 1 would seem to be FORMATTING_ERROR, which suggests something in the design of the Smartform.  However, that doesn't fit with the form being generated from a report, but only erroring when called from a function module.  I can think of no reason why the different calling method would be a factor.
When FORMATTING_ERROR is raise it should also set a message ID and number, are you able to determine what they are?

Call forwarding is a carrier feature, not a phone feature. So, contact your carrier & insure that call forwarding is properly provisioned on your account.

  • Godaddy and Forwarding to .Mac

Can someone give me specific directions for forwarding a domain name at godaddy to my newly created iweb site on .mac. I've seen references to masking versus unmasking, I'm a little confused about that.
I've also read previous posts about some problems in redirecting the browser to the .mac site from godaddy have these issues been corrected?
    Thanks for any help,
    John

    John,
I don't use GoDaddy, but I'll try to be as specific as I can.
Log into your GoDaddy account and look for what is typically called your Domain Control Panel. Most registrars refer management of a Domain to this type of panel. Once there, look for the option to forward your Domain, and enter your .Mac url in the forwarding address field. Enabling masked, or stealth forwarding will cloak your .Mac url in the browser, and only your GoDaddy Domain name will appear. Save your changes.
As far as I know from reading the relevant threads on GoDaddy, the forwarding problems were resolved some time ago.

  • UCCX script and abandoned calls

    Hi Guys
I got question about that UCCX script and abandoned calls , so currently we had 4 different script for  support the call follow .
So the Main script is just AA let the people select menu 1 , 2 ,3 then go to different queue , after select 1 (for example) then call-direct to second script trigger number and coming into the queue .
Unfortunately , the system counter the action to be an Abandoned call      , I already open the case about this issue and the TAC did not found any configure issue on UCCX , from the log we can seem all the REDIRECT,lrd=5000 is abandoned call .

  • Using U.S. Skype online number and forwarding to F...

Hello, I am a U.S. citizen but will be living in France for four months. I need to be able to effectively be in touch with business and family back in the U.S.
What I'm planning on doing is purchasing a prepaid SIM from Orange or another French carrier. Incoming calls from French numbers are free, so I was wondering if Skype would be able to fill in the gaps. If I were to get a U.S. Skype online number, is there a way where I could forward the calls directly to my French prepaid number?
Thank you in advance. I apologize if this has already been repeatedly answered. I used to be on top of all of Skype's offerings, but since the Microsoft takeover, I'm confused.

forwarding your US Skype Number to a French mobile number will require you to have adequate Skype Credit (or possibly a subscription) to cover the cost of the forwarded calls
you can forward your US Skype Number to a French mobile number in your account settings at www.skype.com

  • Incoming forwarded calls / ringtone problems....

    Hi guys,
Hopefully someone can help!! I have a Blackberry Curve 8310, which I use as my direct number for work, but work also have another number forwarded to my phone for short periods of time over the course of a month.
When someone rings my phone normally, their number displays on my screen, and the phone rings.
When someone calls the number which has been forwarded to me, a message pops up saying something along the lines of "Unconditional forwarded call", then the number of the person who is calling displays, and the phone rings.
What I want to do is have a different ringtone for the second type of calls, so that if i miss the message that is displayed on screen, i know its a call which has been forwarded to me!
I've searched the internet and it seems a few people have asked the same question but have yet to read any helpful replys.
    Can anyone help?
ps: Just to make it clear, the number that displays on my phone for these forwarded calls is that of the original caller, not the number of the phone that the call has been forwarded from.
    Thanks in advance!!

There is no indicator for forwarded calls.

What u see on the debug is a call originating from a chinese number (+86, which is also recognized as it should as international call) to the 998XXX123, and the DN 123 has forwarded the call to a german cellphone, the +49170XXXXXX. As u can see in the debug the type of the forwarded number switches to NATIONAL, which gets the +49 (instead keeping the +86 only!) prepended, which means on the target display i will see the +490086139XXXXXXXXX.
What is total crap, because in case the called person misses that call no way to directly call back because of the shitty number display. On the gateway endpoint forwarding the originating caller number is activated. Plan and Type will be set on the routepattern, not on the endpoint. I played around a bit with the digits, but maybe i just don´t get it...where can i set that the original INTERNATIONAL calling number gets forwarded, with NO +49 prepended?
BTW we have here clip-no-screening. And i don´t think its a law thing here, regarding not being able to display on outbound direction a countrycode from abroad. Because this worked on the 14 years old former PBX...and i don´t get it working with the brand new callmanager.
Any suggestions very welcome, where and how i could do this digitmanipulation, many thanks in advance!

Fixed it with the help from a very clever colleague, thanks again to him :)
We put two partitions (in my case) PT_Transformation_Called and PT_Transformation_Calling in, also two CSS with the respective Partitions within them in the system. Afterwards removed all manipulations elsewhere, for example routepatterns or routelist, set these to "Cisco Callmanager".
Then put in some Calling and Called Transformation Patterns, on exactly these partitions, where i do my needed Digit manipulation and setting to TON and Numbering Plan.
Then i used these new CSSs on the endpoint itself, thats their only purpose, doing the transformations THERE.
So my "Called Party Transformation CSS" is now "CSS_Transformation_Called", and the "Calling Party Transformation CSS" is now "CSS_Transformation_Calling", under "Call Routing Information - Outbound Calls". Thats it. I can do any manipulations now there, quite comfortable.
Thats the lesson from my colleague i got yesterday, solved my problem, everything regarding that works now fine.
More time left for my other problems now, for example a CUPS installation that stops after a while now everytime, with an unrecoverable error...nice... :(

    HI
    Thanks for the reply.
This is surely a phone based feature and not the carrier.
But do you have any solution for this?
    Thanks once again.
It is a phone based feature, but in all the phones you mentioned previously it is only there because the ROM on those phones was modified by the manufacturer or carrier to include the aftermarket application.  The Android OS itself does not provide the feature, but 3rd party apps, which can be bundled into the Android ROM do provide it.
Even if an Android phone does not come with it, you can add the app ("Forwarded Call Alert" by Georg Lukas) but it may not work on some phones if the default ROM has certain switches/features disabled (READ_PHONE_STATE and READ_PHONE_LOGS switches).  For example, it reportedly does not work on the original HTC Desire, but does work on the HTC Desire HD
iOS on the iPhone does not provide the feature, and since no 3rd party app can access the basic phone features of the iPhone, I don't see how a developer could write an app to do it.
