Is there any difference between the ScriptMenuActions and InDesign Script Panal Script Calling...?  I have used the same script in both the places, but i getting the problem from ScriptMenuActions invoked...  In my Script I Call the .Bat Executable files for doing the String manipulation before loading the data file into InDesign.
Problem:  InDesign Getting Hanged when invoked the script from the Menu Actions.  But it doesn't hang using the Script Panel double click method.

  • Difference between reports and script

    Gayathri

    Hi,
    Reports:
    Used to display the existing data from the database tables for the analysis purpose
    SCRIPTS:
    They are the Outgoing documents from an organisation to the outside Partners like vendors and Customers.
    Report is basically a program which extracts the data from the database tables based on some inputs and gives the output as a list.
    Report are classified as Classical Reports, Interactive Reports and ALV Report.
    Classical Report is a normal report which just displays the output.User cannot interact with that report.
    Interactive Report is nothing but, a user can interacte with the report.After a basic list is displayed, user can click on some field on the list which generates a secondary list giving the necessary information relevant to that field.
    ALV Report is to provide users with a consistent, user friendly and functional method of manipulating the data, which appears on report lists. ALV provides more advantages than the normal report.
    SAP scripts is a word processing tool of SAP which has the following components: Standard text. It is like a standard normal documents. Layout sets. - Layout set consists of the following components: Windows and pages, Paragraph formats, Character formats. Creating forms in the R/3 system. • Expressions and scripting

    Hi
    I've several questions about programming in Ae
    And I hope to find answers with you
    1- What are the differences between : expressions and scripting ???
    2- I'm not a programmer , so , can I be proficient in expressions ? and how ?
    3- again , I'm not programmer
    can I learning Java script ?

    An expression is a little piece of softwaremuch like a scriptthat evaluates to a single value for a single layer property at a specific point in time. Whereas scripts tell an application to _do_ something, an expression says that a property _is_ something.
    With expressions, you can create relationships between layer properties and use the keyframes of one property to dynamically animate other layers. For example, you can use the pick whip to link path properties, so a mask can take its path from a brush stroke or a shape layer object.
    The expression language is based on the standard JavaScript language, but you do not need to know JavaScript to use expressions. You can create expressions by using the pick whip or by copying simple examples and modifying them to suit your needs.
    Be sure to read the
    "Expressions" section of After Effects Help on the Web.
    Dan Ebberts has an excellent collection of example expressions and scripts and tutorials for learning how to work with expressions and scripts on his website: http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_motionscripthome.
    The AE Enhancers forum provides many examples and much information about expressions, as well as scripts and animation presets: http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_aeenhancershome.
    JJ Gifford provides several example projects on his website that demonstrate how to use expressions: http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_jjgiffordexpressions.

  • Alter script to keep values between 1 and 99

    Hi guys, I currently have a table (for the sake of this lets call it my_table with a column my_column which is integer) I want to restrict the values of this column to values between 1 and 99 and was wondering how I would build this constraint using a script.
    Thanks for any help I may recieve on this.

    Adding a check constraint should serve the purpose.
    create table t_test
    col1 integer
    alter table t_test add constraint check_col1_val check (col1 between 1 and 99);
    insert into t_test values(1);
    insert into t_test values(99);
    insert into t_test values(81);
    insert into t_test values(0);
    insert into t_test values(100);Running the last two insert statements will give you a error
    insert into t_test values(0)

  • Distinguish between AW5 and 6 in script

    I'm trying to create an application in Automator to automate the conversion of AW to iWork. I'm using one of Yvan's scripts to convert AW6 to iWork successfully. The only step remaining is to convert to AW6 from 5, something that shouldn't be too hard since all it has to do is open and save. However, I can't find a good way to distinguish between AW5 and 6. In his script, I believe Yvan does this here:
    on AWtoAW6(leCheminOriginal_UniText) -- leCheminOriginal_UniText est Unicode text
              local leFichier, flag, nf, l, nouveauChemin
              set leFichier to leCheminOriginal_UniText as alias

                        tell application "AppleWorks 6.2.9"
      activate
      open leFichier
                                  set nf to name of document 1
                                  if nf contains v6 then
                                            set AppleScript's text item delimiters to v6
                                            set l to text items of nf
                                            set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ""
                                            set nf to l as text
                                  end if
                                  if nf does not end with ".cwk" then set nf to nf & ".cwk"
                                  set nouveauChemin to cheminDeStockage & nf
                                  tell application "System Events"
                                            if exists (file nouveauChemin) then set name of file nouveauChemin to (text 1 thru -(2 + (length of "cwk")) of nf) & my horoDateur(modification date of file nouveauChemin) & ".cwk" (* name stamped *)
      make new file at end of folder cheminDeStockage with properties {name:nf, file creator:"BOBO", file type:fileType}
                                  end tell

  • Differences between Module Pool Programming and Reports and Scripts

    Hi,
    please tell me the Differences between Module Pool Programming , Reports and Scripts .
    Thanks nad Regards ,
    PavanKumar

    Hi
    Type 1 - is a report programming it can be executed by both transaction and program (F8). Hence its is also called as Executable program.You can start logical databases together with reports.
    Type M - Its a module pool program which is executed only by transaction code.
    Scripts - report with GUI interface. we can have graphics, watermark .
                SAPscript is a client dependent one.the Transaction for script is SE71.

    what is the difference between smart forms and scripts.?

    Differences between Smartforms and SAPscript
    a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
    b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
    c) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
    d) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
    e) Smartforms can create web enable forms like XML
    f) smartforms itself contine subroutine pools need not to main separetly like in case of scripts

    www.erpgenie.com/abap/smartforms_sapscript.htm
    Sapscript vs Smartforms
    Difference with SMARTFORMS vs. SapScript(SE71)
    The Following are the differences :-
    a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
    b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
    c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
    d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
    e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated
    Scripts are client dependent whereas smartforms aren't.
    Upto 99 main windows are possible in scripts and only one in smarforms.
    To create multiple main windows in scripts, you just have to give the window type as MAIN whnever you create a window.
    Scripts still exists but smartforms are in use from 4.6c version, now the lastest version of these two is adobe forms
    SAP Smart Forms is introduced in SAP Basis Release 4.6C as the tool for creating and maintaining forms.SAP Smart Forms allow you to execute simple modifications to the form and in the form logic by using simple graphical tools; in 90% of all cases, this won't include any programming effort. Thus, a power user without any programming knowledge can
    configure forms with data from an SAP System for the relevant business processes.
    Advantages of SAP Smart Forms
    SAP Smart Forms have the following advantages:
    1. The adaptation of forms is supported to a large extent by graphic tools for layout and logic, so that no programming knowledge is necessary (at least 90% of all adjustments). Therefore, power user forms can also make configurations for your business processes with data from an SAP system. Consultants are only required in special cases.
    2. Displaying table structures (dynamic framing of texts)
    3. Output of background graphics, for form design in particular the use of templates which were scanned.
    4. Colored output of texts
    5. User-friendly and integrated Form Painter for the graphical design of forms
    6. Graphical Table Painter for drawing tables
    7. Reusing Font and paragraph formats in forms (Smart Styles)
    8. Data interface in XML format (XML for Smart Forms, in short XSF)
    9. Form translation is supported by standard translation tools
    10. Flexible reuse of text modules
    11. HTML output of forms (Basis release 6.10)
    12. Interactive Web forms with input fields, pushbuttons, radio buttons, etc. (Basis-Release 6.10)
    Reward Points if useful.

    The first one will "abort the job in a managed way" the other "deactivate it so that the job is Completed in a managed way". What does that exactly mean?
    Thanks in advance for some explanations!!

    Hi Tonguç,
    Your AQ have four subcriber. "State" column value chances* after all subscribers dequeue the message.
    On the other hand, you won't see this result because of retention parameter. if you don't set retention time, message deleted from queue after dequeueing.
    Look at "retention_time"
    ex :
    EXEC dbms_aqadm.alter_queue(
    queue_name => 'AQ_MARKETING_DATA_QUEUE',
    retention_time => dbms_aqadm.INFINITE);
    also you can set this parameter when creating your queue

  • Difference between SAP GUI scripting and eCATT

    HI,
      What is difference between SAP GUI Script and eCATT.
      I know that SAP GUI Script can be used for transaction that have activex controls but can we use these script in eCATT also.
      If yes, how?
    Thanks,
    Priya

    Hi Priya,
    SAPGUI script will only work from an external program, may be VB or vbScript. ECATT can only execute a fixed set of commands e.g. (TCD, SAPGUI etc) or a block of ABAP code. ECATT can both work in foreground and background mode.
    In foreground mode you would be able to see the script running on your frontend whereas background mode will create a job in the SAP system.
    You can convert your SAPGUI scripts to SAPGUI commands and execute. If you strictly want to execute SAPGUI script from ECATT then you would have to save the script somewhere on your desktop computer and call it from an ABAP block in ECATT.

  • What is exact difference between table and template in script

    hello all
    what is exact difference between table and template in script

    Hi there.
    Tables alow you to achieve more complex flows with internal tables. You can use different types os lines, like footer, header, line items, and differente types of line items. Also, and most important, you have different processing blocks, again header block (processed before processing of first row), body block (rows) and footer block (after last row or page break).
    If you don't need any of this, use a template inside a loop to achieve something like a table. I personaly use templates only to draw lines, for example, before and after a loop, or to align some header in my documents.
    A table, is a loop and template mixed to become a very good tool.

    When I frequently switching between mobile and desktop view I have to open the layers every time since they get closed/collapsed. Adobe may need to fix it for the next version.

    You can use CTRL+# to switch between Code and Design View.
    By the way, this is the Dreamweaver Application Development forum which deals with questions about using server-side scripting languages like PHP or ColdFusion. General Dreamweaver questions should be posted in the regular Dreamweaver General Discussions forum.
    And while I´m at it: please use descriptive headlines such as "how to switch between Code and Design View" for your posts -- mentioning your screen name "Goula129" is not helpful to other users.

  • Difference between diadem and LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit

    I want to expand LabVIEW's reporting capabilities.  Can someone tell me what the difference is between DIAdem and the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office.

    Hello Mr Bean,
    There are several major differences between the two solutions. I'll try and outline them as good as I can ...
    The biggest different is that LabVIEW and its toolkits are programming tools and DIAdem is a ready to run application.
    The LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit basically provides an extensive library of VIs that allow you to connect LabVIEW to the MS Office library and create and edit reports in Word and Excel.
    DIAdem is a stand alone application that was designed to post-process data from various sources. The tools included in DIAdem are:
    1. NAVIGATOR: Allows you to import data from files (ASCII, binary, Excel, etc.) as well as DataBases (SQL/ODBC, Citadel, ASAM, etc.). The unique DataPlugin technology available within DIAdem allows you to import vitually and data file by creating a DataPlugin that describes the data format and gets linked to DIAdem. More information at: http://www.ni.com/diadem/dataplugins.htm
    2. VIEW: Graphical and Numerical data inspection tool. Use cursors to zoom and scroll through your data, edit your data graphically and numerically and compare different tests.
    3. ANALYSIS: DIAdem has a wide range of analysis functions, ranging from simple functions like integration and differentiation to FFTs, Order analysis and 3D data analysis.
    4. REPORT: The DIAdem REPORT tool allows you to create reusable report layouts that can contain multiple axis systems (2D, 3D and polar plots) as well as tables (2D and 3D) and variables. The REPORT tool generates templates that can be usedwith multiple data sets due to the inclusion of automatic (or manula if required) scaling as well as extensive use of variables for annotations. Finished reports can be exported to printers, graphics files, the Windows Clipboard, HTML pages and PDF files (PDF writing is build into DIAdem, no extra software required). Using Scripts, it is also possible to create Word, Excel or Powerpoint reports from DIAdem automatically.
    5. SCRIPT: The DIAdem scripting tools allows users to record macros or write scripts that automate complete sequences, for the import of data, via extensive analysis, to creating a publication ready report. Scripts can make reports "intelligent" by modifying the appearance of a report based on the data or calculation results that are going to be displayed in the report.
    I recommend you check out the following link for more information: http://www.ni.com/diadem/
    DIAdem is an extremly powerful tool for report generation. I am leaving to go on a business trip to Asia, but I would be more than happy to give you an Web presentation on DIAdem after I have returned. We could use your data and create a DIAdem report Script together online. My Email address is [email protected] and I will be back the week of Thanksgiving.
