Difficultly exporting files to AIFF

I want to export my audio to AIFF but whenever I try to do so it brings up the dialog box and just sits there forever. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm just being impatient (it doesn't give me an estimated time or anything)... any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!!

Do you mean it just sits there when the Export dialog window opens and won't let you do/select anything? Or do you mean that the export progress window/bar doesn't show any change?

  • Error Message when Exporting to Wave, Aiff or SD2

I can export to mp3 no problem but when i try to export to wave, aiff or sd2 files i get the following message: Could Not Create File - The export file could not be created. This may have occurred because there is insufficient disk space, or there might be a problem with the directory permissions. All my directories are unlocked and writable (plus Im using the same folder for the mp3's) & I have over 80 gb in total!, please help!

Ok, I have trashed my final cut preferences, I checked and my external hard drive is set to mac osx extended. I ran disk utility, I exported to quicktime movie using current settings with movie self contained checked and I get the error message right away. Then I did it without self contained checked and it goes to 21% and I get the error message. Everytime it says this: File I/O error, that is all it says. What does this mean? What can I do next? I have a deadline for this project. I have alot of memory left on my external hard drive. This has never happened before. Thanks for all your help guys.

  • Should JPEG 2000 be an Exportable File Format Option?

I have been keeping up with the Library of Congress' efforts in the "Sustainability of Digital Formats Planning for Library of Congress Collections." In essence, TIFF is their first choice, with JPEG 2000 a close second. Here is the link to a short summary of their recommendations.
I like JPEG 2000, but like everybody else I never use it. When I burn a DVD to share with someone, I make a "hi-res" folder of TIFFs, and a "lo-res" folder of JPEGs. It isn't difficult to add JPEG 2000 as an exportable file format, as it is an ISO standard if I understand the spec correctly. In any event, if JPEG 2000 is a close second on the list at the Library of Congress, then we shouldn't take this lightly as they are the largest library in the world, in addition to being the single most important entity for handing our digital imaging rights which should be in the interest of all Aperture users.
Given this information, would you support adding JPEG 2000 as an exportable file format in Aperture 3?

Click on the word Aperture in the menubar, and choose Provide Aperture Feedback.
    Ernie
Btw, quoting from Wiki, which leaves me uncertain as to why I would ever use, even from Photoshop:
"While there is a modest increase in compression performance of JPEG 2000 compared to JPEG, the main advantage offered by JPEG 2000 is the significant flexibility of the codestream. The codestream obtained after compression of an image with JPEG 2000 is scalable in nature, meaning that it can be decoded in a number of ways; for instance, by truncating the codestream at any point, one may obtain a representation of the image at a lower resolution, or signal-to-noise ratio – see scalable compression. By ordering the codestream in various ways, applications can achieve significant performance increases. However, as a consequence of this flexibility, JPEG 2000 requires encoders/decoders that are complex and computationally demanding. Another difference, in comparison with JPEG, is in terms of visual artifacts: JPEG 2000 produces ringing artifacts, manifested as blur and rings near edges in the image, while JPEG produces ringing artifacts and 'blocking' artifacts, due to its 8×8 blocks."

  • How to export straight to AIFF format ?

    Hi there,
The main reason I use garageband is actually I need it to complement my use in Final Cut. But final Cut only accepts AIFF format.
I find that garangeband when doing a "EXPORT TO DISC" only has to option AAC or MP3. Thus, I find myself having to do extra step of using QuickTime Player to convert the AAC file to AIFF format.
Any method to export straight it as AIFF format ?
    Thanks

  • Half-empty Exported Files

in G'08, part of an exported AIFF file turns out to be "empty".
it happens to every second/third song, when i try to export them.
    any explanation to this, please?

    thanks for the reply.
the marker is always at the end of a song, and i normally export files with cycle regions being turned on. but i have to try at least twice in order to get a full song. and by an "empty" one i mean a full length (timewise) and full size (in terms of megabytes) AIFF, part of which has no sound. so the exported file is not just a fragment, but a whole song. and most of it, like i already said, is quiet.

  • Error During INSTALL of Application Export File

An error is reported during INSTALL of an application that I am trying to copy (Import/Install) from a "development" Work Space into a "production" Work Space. The production (target) Work Space is on the same HTML DB instance as the development Work Space.
I am receiving the following INSTALL error:
    ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: GET_STMT error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-06550: line 15, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ",'39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W')) END)" when expecting one of the following: . ( * @ % & = - + ; < / > at in is mod remainder not rem <an exponent (**)> <> or != or ~= >= <=
Following is some pertinent (hopefully) information:
The above INSTALL error takes exception to part of a Region Select (sql) that works fine in the development Work Space.
The common HTML DB (v1.6) instance is on UNIX.
A new Work Space was created on the same instance.
A new schema name was created during creation of the new Work Space. However, this schema does not point to a database. (We were not certain how to setup the schema to parse to our live database.) I will be running DBLINK upon production application startup in order to access the database objects.
    EXPORT INFO -
File Format: UNIX (also, tried DOS but received same error during INSTALL)
    IMPORT INFO -
    File Type: Application/Page Export
File Character Set: Western European Windows 1252
Target Work Space is newly created on the same HTML DB instance.
    INSTALL INFO -
*Parse As Schema: COLLIVE17 (Again, this schema does not parse to a database. I intend to use DBLINK.)
*Build Status: Run and Build Application
Please refer to above error message.
Again, any insights or suggestions are appreciated.

Urgently need help! I've read several other Forum messages having a related problem but none having same Install error message.
Again, my Export/Import from development Workspace to production Workspace is successful. The following error is reported when I attempt to "Install" into the production Workspace:
    ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: GET_STMT error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-06550: line 15, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ",'39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W')) END)" when expecting one of the following: . ( * @ % & = - + ; < / > at in is mod remainder not rem <an exponent (**)> <> or != or ~= >= <=
The "snippet" of Region Sql Select code that relates to the reported error is:
    ELSE htmldb_item.display_and_save (5, DECODE (GET_GRADE_B93 (sac.stc_final_grade,sac.stc_verified_grade),'18','AU','1','A','3','B','4','C','7','CR','5','D','46','DR','6','F','47','FW','49','IB','30','IC','31','ID','23','IF','44','MW','9','NC','21','RD','14','RD0','33','RD1','32','RD2','34','RD3','35','RD4','36','RD5','37','RD6','38','RD7','39','RD8','8','S','10','U','43','UD','41','UG','11','W'),'GRADE_'||ROWNUM) END q_v_grade,
HTML DB version is: 1.6.0.00.67. I've also tried to Export/Import/Install the application into the "same" Workspace specifying the same schema, and only changing the Application ID. However, I get the same Install error (see above).
Any suggestions on things to try in order to get application into production is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Bernard.

  • Lightroom 5 cannot export files in original Raw format (LR 5.4, Mac, OS 10.9.4).

A client has the following problem: When trying to export files in the original Raw format (.CR2), the operation failed and a dialog informs us that "Some export operations were not performed". We can export JPEGs just fine.
After lots of testing, this is what we discovered:  The problem does not appear to be catalog-based; we run into the same problem using a test catalog.  The export operation works fine, however, with the same test catalog and images on two other machines, and it even works fine on the same machine with a new user admin account that we created.
So it appears to be something associated with the user account, , or with how LR is interacting with the user account, but I cannot figure out what it might be. We can copy the Raw files when using the Finder to do so. But not via Lightroom.  Any thoughts, ideas of suggestion would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks, Sean

As part of your testing make sure you've tried exporting JPGs from the same folder as the CR2s you're exporting as original, and export JPGs from CR2s to the same folder as you're exporting your originals.  This would test LR's read and write permissions from and to the folders being used.
From this document you can see that all the LR files other than the program, are under the /Users folder with different values possible for each user, so the difference could be that the users that work are using the original LR defaults, if you have just started using LR with them after you started having this problem, or at least that the user with the problem has some oddball settings that are interfering with Export as Original.
Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5
You can test for the Preferences being off by either copying the preferences from a user that has the problem to a user that doesn't have the problem--probably through an external or common folder, or be deleting the preferences file from the user that has the problem and see if it resolves.  Moving the preferences file or renaming it may be better than deleting it if no change is seen, then you can restore the preferences back by moving or renaming the file back to the original location and name.

HOW TO REMOVE HYPHEN IN LAYER COMP EXPORT FILE IN PNG FORMAT...

I ususally do that type of thing with a state machine... read a token, look for what is next, and if it's the closing token, I don't write it out. You have well defined opening token syntax and closing token syntax, so it should be relatively easy.

  • Schema Import failed :IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file:

    Hi ,
I was running a database schema import from a database DMP file.
I encountered the following error in the log file that was getting generated :
IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file:
All the tables got copied except for one. Now what I have thought of is to import that one table again after taking an export from the prod schema.
But what about the functions, triggers, procedures ?? How do i bring all of them in the schema ?
If reimporting the schema again the only option ?
    Thanks
    Kk

    Hello,
    In this order:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/exp_imp.htm#i1023988
    Table Objects: Order of Import
Table objects are imported as they are read from the export file. The export file contains objects in the following order:
    1. Type definitions
    2. Table definitions
    3.Table data
    4.Table indexes
    5. Integrity constraints, views, procedures, and triggers
    6. Bitmap, function-based, and domain indexes
The order of import is as follows: new tables are created, data is imported and indexes are built, triggers are imported, integrity constraints are enabled on the new tables, and any bitmap, function-based, and/or domain indexes are built. This sequence prevents data from being rejected due to the order in which tables are imported. This sequence also prevents redundant triggers from firing twice on the same data (once when it is originally inserted and again during the import).
For example, if the emp table has a referential integrity constraint on the dept table and the emp table is imported first, all emp rows that reference departments that have not yet been imported into dept would be rejected if the constraints were enabled.
When data is imported into existing tables, however, the order of import can still produce referential integrity failures. In the situation just given, if the emp table already existed and referential integrity constraints were in force, many rows could be rejected.
A similar situation occurs when a referential integrity constraint on a table references itself. For example, if scott's manager in the emp table is drake, and drake's row has not yet been loaded, scott's row will fail, even though it would be valid at the end of the import.

  • Imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file

    Hi All,
I am trying to import an export from Oracle 8.1.7 source system to Oracle 11.2 using imp . I am getting the following errors may times during the import process.
imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file
The character set of Source data base is WE8DEC and the character set of target data base is WE8MSWIN1252 and i get the below statement during the start of the import
import done in US7ASCII character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
import server uses WE8MSWIN1252 character set (possible charset conversion)
export client uses WE8DEC character set (possible charset conversion)
export server uses WE8DEC NCHAR character set (possible ncharset conversion)
The error imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file is it due to the Oracle version compatibility or due to Character set compatibility issue.
I tried to create a new Database on same Oracle sever and i cant find WE8DEC in the list of character set to choose. Please help me on how to proceed.

    Hi Srini,
Data is getting loaded correctly, but i get several of these error imp-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file messages during the import process, so i am not sure what is missing.
Pl post the complete error message from the import log file.
    1) Is it possible to import the dump exported form oracle 8 into oracle 11?? Do we need to take any special care during the import ??
Yes - no special requirements are needed.
    2) The Oracale Database character set it WE8DEC, but when i try to create a new database in 11 , i dont find that character set , is the character set obsolete now , if so what character set is super set of WE8DEC ??
Pl post exact OS and database versions. Ideally you should be using AL32UTF8 for all new databases. WE8DEC is a deprecated characterset.

  • The export file from a calc script - naming and date/time stamp

Here is a simple calc script to export data.
    2 questions:
    1. Is there an easy way to add a date/time stamp on the name of the data file so that it does not overwrite the older ones every time?
    2. I tried to specify the path so that it write to another server. "\\mfldappp011\E:\Exp_AW.txt". It's not working. How should I specify the path ?
    Fix (@Relative("Yeartotal",0),"Actual","Working",&ActualYear);
    Dataexport "file" "," "C:\Exp_AW.txt" "#MI";
    EndFix;

Probably easiest to call the maxl script from a command line script, then rename the exported file to include the tme stamp and copy/move it to a location.

    Hi,
I am getting the below error on running export:-

The query is as given below:-
    exp cam3_mpcb2/cam3_mpcb2@ORA10G file='c:\MPCB_cam_20120113.dmp' log='c:\MPCB_20120113.log'
CAn i overcome this error by adding "ignore" at the end of the query or how can i modify the above query ?

Are there any other error messages that accompany the one you posted?
EXP-00002: error in writing to export file
Cause: Export could not write to the export file, probably because of a device error. This message is usually followed by a device message from the operating system.
Action: Take appropriate action to restore the device. Do you have permissions to write to this location?

  • Large export file when application contains a BI Publisher report

Anyone have an idea why an application export file grows dramatically when a BI Publisher report template is added to an application? I have an application that was 400+ KB and went to 88+ MB just by adding one report query and RTF template. This results in taking over an hour to import the application.

Each RTF Report layout is converted to an ASCII string to allow the import routine to load the rtf as part of the application.
If your template has any embedded graphics e.g. a logo then this SIGNIFICANTLY increases the size of the ASCII encoding of the template.
    Hope this helps.

  • Error while rendering: Export file not found - what to do?

    Hi,
I have been editing my video in four different premiere pro projects (as I got adviced to do from these forums because it's AVCHD clips). I have rendered these four projects and burned to four DVD's (total playtime is around 1.5hours) - which is working fine.
But then I try to import all four projects into one big master project because I want to make a blu-ray iso. The import goes fine (I import like this: File > Import > Choose project > Import entire project)
I export to encore, make the menus etc. and click "build" to start rendering. The problem is that after some time I get this error:
Blu-ray Object: "sequence-name-here/project-name-here.prproj", Export file not found
I have seen this error before while rendering some of the four individual projects - but when I saw them I simply just tried again by exporting to encore from the projects again. This seemed to work - but with the big master project I have tried several times with no luck.
Can anyone help me fix this issue? :)

    Yes, I got this too:
For posterity, here is what I have found that completely fixes this error, repeatedly:  Clear Encore's cache.  Specifically:
Close your Encore project and exit Encore
Go to the cache subdirectory named for your project (ie. if your save file is c:\projects\mymovie.ncor then go to c:\projects\mymovie\cache)
    Delete the file "mlf.cache.v10"
If your Encore project contains any Premiere Pro dynamically-linked assets, start Premiere Pro and load at least one of the projects used in Encore.  (I have found that this reduces memory usage -- for some reason, Premiere Pro takes up less memory than if Encore spawns the PProHeadless.exe media server to serve the same function)
Restart Encore and load your project
...and wait, patiently, for Encore to re-scan all of your assets and build up the cache again and don't touch it until it's finished.  I use Process Explorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653) to watch my disk activity and CPU to know when Encore is finished (just hover on the cyan-colored graph and you can see what program is performing the most disk activity).  Once it's all finished, I save, then immediately try to build my project again.  For proof of concept, my 40GB BD-50 project just built last night after getting this error yesterday afternoon.
If any of your assets are not transcoded before you begin this process, transcode them all, then start this process over again from step one.  Clearing the cache does not clear the transcodes.
I hope this helps someone.  I was not looking forward to completely re-authoring my project, which I've been working on (on and off) for a few months.
