Difficulty adding complete instruments
I keep getting a message that says I have already downloaded in-app purchase of complete Garageband instruments and loops, but I have greyed out instruments and loops galore. Meanwhile, I have tried everything I've seen from using the Terminal to push in the update to hitting Command-R on App Store to refresh for update. Any ideas?
Thank you again, léonie. I should have been clearer about the Drum Kits. Though I have all of those listed, I cannot access any but "SoCal" as they, like those instruments in the Orchestral Kit section (and many other sections) are greyed out.
Then the in-app purchase did not install. Try to resume the download by selecting the command "Restore Purchase" from the GarageBand menu.
Also, how do I access Kyle on the "SoCal" kit? When I click on it all that happens is it becomes my instrument of choice for my recording.
Any project can have only one Drummer track. when you create a project, it should have already one Drummer track, if you did not select the "empty" template.
Select your Drummer track and open the Track editor (click the "Scissors" icon at the left side of the Toolbar). In the Track Editor, in the Info pane to the left, you can select a genre (Rock, R&B; ...) and switch between different drummers. You should see Kyle, if the genre is set to "Rock". In then panes to the right you can move the dots around to change the style. That will effect the currently selected region in the track.

Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? -
Adding audio instrument to 24-track audio template: no MIDI or sound
I've been trying to add an audio instrument track to what was originally a song that started out with the 24-track audio template in Logic.
I don't seem to have any trouble adding an audio instrument track, but when I then choose the audio instrument - and, yes, I have chosen an instrument, not just clicked on the track - I get no sound nor can I see any MIDI connection in the transport window.
Everything works fine on songs based on templates that start out with both audio and audio instruments. So, I'm wondering if there's something I need to add to the environment to allow the MIDI connection? I admit I'm not an expert once in the environment, but a quick glance seems to show the general MIDI already set up.
I simply want to add a B3 to a band's rhythm track.
Any help?
TiBook 800 Mac OS X (10.3.9)if you are getting midi into logic with other songs then there must be something missing in this song. open your environment to the click and ports layer and make sure there is a cable that runs out of the sum, of the Physical input to the Sequencer input (Record & Thru). there may be a couple other objects there like a keyboard and monitor object, just make sure everything is linked together.

Difficulty in completing updates
I am trying to install an update to Photoshop CS6 (Creative Cloud) and, although 100% of the update seems to download all right it then gives an error message and the update fails. The error is U44MIP7. What should I do?
You will have to use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, let AAM reinstall PS and then try the update again.

Adding a non-wireless PC to an Airport Extreme network with WDS, or extend
I have an Airport Extreme base station (802.11n), a Time Capsule, and a cable modem. Currently the Time Capsule is wired by WAN to my cable modem. It is broadcasing a wireless network to my iMac Intel Core2Duo running 10.5.2 and my AppleTV, and my MacBook Pro running 10.4.11. I'd just acquired a Windows XP PC with no WiFi card but a built-in NIC card. I'm having difficulty adding the Airport Extreme base station to the network of the Time Capsule, so the non-wireless PC can use the LAN port of the Airport Extreme and pickup an internet connection. I don't want anything connected to the WAN port of the Airport Extreme. The PC can't be moved to the room with the cable modem. Should I:
1. Set it up from the Airport Utility of my iMac or MacBook Pro?
2. Switch the placement of the Airport Extreme and Time Capsule?
3. What steps should I take from Airport Utility, to add a reset Airport Extreme or Time Capsule to the network already tied to my Cable modem?Since both of your base stations are 802.11n, I suggest that you use the "extend a network" feature available to these, instead of creating a WDS.

Your choice, you could use the AirPort Utility from either of these Macs to configure the base stations.

Here are the basic steps to configure the extended network:
o If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations. You may also want to temporarily connect the AEBSn directly to one of the TC's LAN ports during setup.
o Open AirPort Utility and select the TC.
o Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu.
o Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
o Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
o Next, select the AEBSn, and again choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu.
o Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then choose the TC's wireless network from the Network Name pop-up menu.
o Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.
o Upon completion of the setup, you can now relocate the AEBSn to its desired location.

Having an issue adding network to eigrp
I'm doing a class project using a network simulator and am asked to: Design and implement an network for company RoutersCourseMatters. The names of the department names at this company are Faculty, Staff, and Students. For security reasons, each department must be isolated from each other's broadcast domain on the network. The Faculty have 50 end devices that need to be connected to the network. Staff has 26 end devices and the Students have 100 end devices. The network spaced provided by the ISP is 192.168.0.0/24. The dynamic protocol used for this network must be for Cisco-only equipment. Test each department network with just one end device and ensure full connectivity across the entire network
So we have our network topology setup for the class project(see picture attached). We are using one router for faculty+staff. Faculty has ip/mask of 192.168.0.1/26 and staff is: 192.168.0.65/27. we have a seperate router for students which the IP subnet for students is 192.168.0.150/25. The routers are directly connected and are using ips 192.168.0.98/29 & 192.168.0.100/29 so since the two routers are directly connected on the same subnet they have no issue pinging each other. The problem is pinging hosts from a subnet to hosts on a different subnet. When I try and add ANY 192.168.0.* subnet to eigrp it instead adds 192.168.16.* network. For instance on the faculty/student router if i do a 'router eigrp 1' command followed by 'network 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.63' it shows network 192.168.16.0 has been added to eigrp under show run. here is show run command:

From your setup and description you provided I see some mismatch in IP subneting you calculated.
For instance in your diagram you have networks 192.168.0.0/26 (FACULTY), 192.168.0.64/27 (STAFF), 192.168.0.96/29 (point-to-point link between routers) and 192.168.0.128/25 (STUDENTS).
First, you're wasting IP addresses, because you have unused space between point-to-point link and STUDENTS subnet. It's a good practice, when calculating subnets first calculate the biggest, subnet, then smaller one until the smallest one (usually some point-to-point cross-connects). For more about this see this guide.
Now, the issue I see as the most important is, that you have in your diagram networks as I mentioned above, but into your EIGRP process you're adding completely different subnets (192.168.16.x, 192.168.20.x,...).
I entered following:

And all works just fine, computer's are able to ping each other. Also although it's not necessary, it's good to includes network wildcard mask into the "network" command under EIGRP (or OSPF) configuration.

[SOLVED] Slight issue concerning pacman & bash completion

I've come across a small issue when using the -Rs option with pacman.
The auto completion doesn't appear to be working for the first package name passed after the -Rs option.
For example, when issuing the command
pacman -Rs firefox
and pressing tab twice, it will not show any options or auto-complete. However, if I add another package to be removed:
pacman -Rs firefox chr
and hit the tab key twice, autocomplete will work, and it'll autocomplete to chromium.
Bash-completion (2.0-3) is installed, and the rest of the system is up to date. Am I missing something here, or have I stumbled upon a bug?I don't know so much about it, but I'm under the impression that bash-completion for pacman (once enabled in ~/.bashrc by adding "complete -cf pacman") works by default by checking the user's PATH variable, i.e. it will offer to complete pacman commands with the name of any executable in the user's PATH's () as well as the contents of the current directory. ... which means: if firefox isn't installed, it won't find it; if it is, it will offer this completion; if there's a file called firefox in the current directory, it will also offer it.

Adding alt text tags in InDesign (and Acrobat Pro)
I am having real difficulty adding alternative text tags. I created an INDD doc with rollover buttons linked to URLs firstly in InDesign CS4. I couldn't add alt text tags in CS4 so I then tried to add them in Acrobat X Pro but failed. Acrobat keeps wanting to class the PDF as a form. I then installed InDesign CS6 from the cloud and added alt text to the rollover buttons via object export options. However, these do not show when I export to PDF.
Can someone help me add alt text to my rollover buttons in my interactive PDF either in InDesign CS6 or in Acrobat Pro after I export it?In InDesign CS6, you just need to add descriptions to buttons. This is done in the buttons and forms panel:

Need help to COMPLETELY uninstall HP drivers & software fm pc running Win 7
I am having difficulty with completely removing and uninstalling the HP drivers and software from my Dell Inspiron 830. I am running Windows 7.
I have attempted a number of times use the uninstall feature under programs and applications in Windows. This seemed to remove the applications from the list, but HP Update dated 7/7/10 2.97mb in size version 5.002.006.003 will not remove. In addition, my system keeps attempting to load SmartWebPrinting at various intervals.
I have downloaded and ran the uninstall utility (running it the 4 times as indicated) but still have the same problems.
Please let me know what specific steps I may take to completely remove this software from my machine, including the registry entries, startup services, and/or whatever else I need to do to get it OFF MY SYSTEM!!! Thank you.

View Solution.Revo uninstaller will remove everything but you have to start with it first. When using Revo if the hp uninstall ask you to reboot Don't. If you did not start to remove with Revo, reinstall the hp program and then start over with Revo uninstaller.
This will clean it out program by program.

Adding multiple artwork in itunes7 - no joy
Another bug with the latest release of itunes or I'm being daft, is anyone having difficulty adding artwork across multiple items? I used to copy the image and select the tracks in the library I wanted to apply the image to and then pasted the picture in the artwork space. Now, when I try to do the same, for more than one track, although i don't get an error message, no artwork appears. I can only add artwork track by track which is ridiculous. Any suggestions please?
That doesn't work indeed in iTunes 7 (deliberate or a bug?).
Alternatively select all tracks of an album and Get Info.
Then drop it in the artwork pane. It will be added to all tracks. That does work.

Instrument i/o assistant doesnt work
I have installed LV 8.20 evaluation Version on a WIN2K PC
and added the instrument i/o assistant from the Device Driver Reference CD 1(May 2006).
When I drop the instrument i/o assistant in blank vi and try to configure it ,
I get a popup that tells me:
"Measurement & Automation Explorer or instrument i/o assistant not installed correctly.
Please install these from the driver CD".
Same on another WIN2K PC .Hello beethoven,
please think about downloading the latest driver CD of this year (August 06) which is available from:
ftp://ftp.ni.com/outgoing/
This is a rather huge file (~1 GB), so this is only useful if you have a broadband connection. In case I could also create a Service Request and sent these files on CD. In parallel I will setup a system with the same configuration (LV eval) for testing.
Please alternatively try to install the following files from the attached ZIP to the following location ('instrIOAsst' folder deeds to be created):
\LabVIEW 8.0\vi.lib\instrIOAsst
Unzip all of the files to the folder, start LV again and drop an IIOA VI on the blockdiagram.
Let me know if this works.

Artist show in recently added but not in artist list
I have an imac, early 2012 model with the most recent updates (Maverick I think it's called). And an iphone 4S with the most recent update.
I recently added two cd's into iTunes. One cd shows the artist and all info in the artist list. The other does not show in the artist list, but Does show in recently added, complete with all info. This cd was downloaded (and paid for) from the Artists website as an mp3 320. In order to put it on my iphone, I had to make a playlist and add that to the iphone. I also tried making an AAC version, but that didn't help. Any ideas why this might be?

I had the same trouble, and tried various things including a restore from back-up, with no success.
I then had a closer look at the "Get Info" section of the troubled artist.
The 'Artist Name' and 'Album Name' were correctly defined in the 'Info' tab ,
howerver, in the 'Options' tab I notied that the 'Part of a Compilation' dropdown box
was set to "Yes". So, I changed this to "No" and left the check box selected, and then clicked "OK".
I re-checked the 'Get Info/Options' part again to ensure the change had taken affect(which it had).
I then disconnected and reconnected my Iphone 5 followed by a "SYNC" which successfully applied
the above changes to my phone and hence solved the problem.

I am having difficulty adding a device and tranferring music files to a new iPhone 5s.
I have an Apple ID which has 3 devices associated with it: a PC laptop, an iPod Touch, and an iPhone 5. The laptop has about 3,000 CDs saved to it and has iTunes installed to manage it all. I also have iTunes Match.
I just bought my wife an iPhone 5s. I created an Apple ID for her. I want to transfer music that I own to it but cannot figure it out. When I sign-in to my iTunes, there is no "Add A Device" function in the "manage devices" screen. I cannot add a device. Also, when I plug-in the new iPhone 5s to the laptop, it does not charge (like the iPhone 5 or iTouch) or launch anything.
I cannot be the first person to have bought a phone for a family member and wanted to add a playlist. Any advice?

Instrument driver not saving in workspace
I'm very new to LabWindows, so sorry for a newbie question. I've added an instrument driver to my project to have secure obfuscated text entry on a text string control for password purposes. See here.
However, when I close LabWindows and reopen, the IDE seems to forget about the password instrument. I have to re-add it each time. Why doesn’t my workspace remember the instruments?
I tried looking in the ASCII of the workspace or the project file to see if there was a hard reference to the password fb file. Couldn’t find one.

Go to Solution.You may solve this problem in two ways.
If the password control is to be used in that project only, add pwctrl.fp to the project itself.
If you plan to use this instrument for several projects of yours, you can add it to the library menu (Library >> Customise... menu netry, then browse to the instrument file to add it to the list and then restart CVI).

Adding lens correction profiles to Photoshop
I am having difficulty adding lens correction profiles for my Sony A7R camera to Photoshop and LIghtroom. I have obtained some *.lcp files for a given lens in RAW, and have tried adding them to to the following folders but without success (i.e., the lens profile still does not appear):
Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.4/Resources/LensProfiles/1.0/Sony
Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.4/Resources/LensProfiles/1.0/Sony/Downloaded
ProgramData/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Sony
ProgramData/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Sony/Downloaded
Users/MyName/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0
Users/MyName/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Downloaded
The reason I've added the *.lcp file to so many folders is because various internet searches have suggested each one of these as a repository for the *.lcp file.
I'm now thinking that the Index.dat file in the LensProfiles folder may need rebuilding, and supposedly renaming that folder and restarting either PS or LR will recreate that file. However, that has not worked for me, and what happens is that I get an extremely abbreviated list of available profiles. What is the current, proper way to add lens profiles to Photoshop CS6, CC or LightRoom 5.4, all being 64 bit versions running on a PC under Windows 7 64 Bit?User lens profiles in program folders will be ignored, so the first four you list, starting with Program Files and ProgramData are only for Adobe-supplied profiles for the particular version of product you're using. There are .lcp files in those program folders, the ones without Downloaded in the path, anyway, but they have to be Adobe profiles. Each version of Camera Raw and Lightroom knows exactly what profiles to expect and will ignore any others. A few years ago that was not the case, but it is, now.
The last path, beginning with Users and ending with Downloaded is where user-supplied .lcp files should go.
If you want to zip up a profile and a raw file you feel goes with it, and upload to http://www.dropbox.com and share a public download link, here, then maybe others can verify if those profiles work for them or not.
