Difficulty getting rid of a tab

Hi,
I want to get rid of a tab but I can't get the orange thing to go back. What do I need to do? Thanks!

Open the style defintion dialog for the applied paragraph style and go to Indents and Spacing. You'll need to first reset the First Line Indent fro the negative value to 0, then set the left indent value to 0 (you have to do it in that order).
If this is being applied as a local override (the style definition already shows 0 for left indent), you can use Find/Change to find the paragraph style and replace withthe same style, which will remove ALL overrides for the style, or you can look for the indent values and change those (there's an indents and spacing section in find format and change format dialogs).
You should also verify that no indents are being applied when there is no active cursor insertion point, selected text or selected text frame. You can do that in the Paragraph panel or the Control panel if the text tool is selected.

    This is by far one of the most annoying things I've encountered since I moved back to Firefox, especially since I keep a LOT of tabs open and I need to reach them as quickly as possible. I need a way to get rid of it.

    Hi Worer,
    two addon ideas:
    1. Displays full list //two clicks anyway
    [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/permanent-listalltabs/ List all tabs]
    2. Allows you to reduce tab width //you will fit more tabs to your screen

    Let me know if it helps.

  • I want to get rid of the tab bar in firefox 3.6

    I have tried to get rid of Tab bar in FireFox 3.6 but unchecking everything in the Tab section of Options will not stop them.
    Anyone know how to permanently get rid of Tabs?

    Download Tab Killer from here: <br />
    http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/_tabkiller.html.en#download<br />
    Click on - '''Download Latest Version (via HTTPS, GitHub) /''' - then '''"allow"''' at the top of the window on the yellow bar that will appear.
    Ver.2.0.2009110201 is what should get installed.

  • How do I get rid of a tab requesting donations for an add-on?

    I recently downloaded an add-on for Firefox that I have found very helpful. A few days later, a tab launched requesting a small donation for the developer. Since I was using and enjoying the add-on, I made a small ($10) donation. All well and good, but the tab keeps showing up once a week or so, and I'm not going to make any more donations. How do I get rid of this?

  • In can't get rid of new tabs/popup windows opening up

    I cant get rid of pop up windows. Whenever I am on a web page a new tab will open up and will be some sort of advertisement. I have run CC Cleaner, McAfee, Spybot and advanced system cleaner several times. My pop up blocker is on and there are no exceptions listed under it. I also have the adblockplus addon installed but they still keep hijacking my browser. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox and still nothing. I don't know what else to do. Can anyone please help me?

    Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
    You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
    Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

  • Can't get rid of a tab

    We can't get rid of the last beginning tab at a website.

    I am not sure I understand the your description of the problem.
    Possibly the issue is the fact that you are always left with one tab and can not get rid of the last tab in a Firefox Window. That is now the expected behaviour. It is not possible to easily disable tabbed browsing.
    As ever Firefox is highly customisable and addons have been developed to change this behaviour so that Firefox is more like older versions

    If that is not your problem please try to give more details.

  • Can't get rid of junk tabs

    I have a MacBook pro and every time I open up safari an additional tab pops up (either mac keeper, some mac anti-virus software, or some website that is junk). Each time I go to a new web page, this happens. I have removed any extensions in safari, reset safari, repaired my disk utility and removed any applications that I may potentially think is causing this. Does anyone know how I would get rid of these junk tabs that are self-creating?
    Thanks

    Click here and follow the instructions, or if desired, download and run Adware Medic. The second link is a direct download; if you're unable to download it, see this page.

  • How do I get rid of two tabs opening when I first open Firefox?

    When I first open Firefox I get my home page in one tab but another tab opens also. That one is set for Facebook. How do I get rid of the automatically opening second tab?

    Do you get both pages if you launch a new window using either:
    * Ctrl+n
    * "3-bar" menu button > New Window
    ''If yes:''
    Check your home page setting to see if you have multiple home tabs. A vertical bar (|) is used between the addresses. This article shows where to check this in the Options dialog: [[Startup, home page and download settings]]. This article has more background on multiple home tabs: [[How to set the home page]].
    ''If no, or if the Options dialog is okay:''
    Add-ons may display tabs at startup or in a new window. If you check the address of the Facebook page, is it the normal Facebook URL ([https://www.facebook.com/]) or a different address?
    Do you have any Facebook-related extensions? You can review, disable, and often remove extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
    Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Any improvement?

  • My computer company installed new computers and everytime i open Mozilla, tabs appear for my laptop company. How do i get rid of this tab?

    I want to get rid of the Lenovo laptops tab that appears everytime I open Mozilla

    I opened it up in safe mode, went and reset all settings back to default. I also disabled ALL add ons. Then I went to add ons manager and enabled all the ones I was 100% certain I added. In there, you will find two add ons, one is the yahoo tool bar and default tab 1.2.2. I left those two disabled and started firefox. The tab was gone. I am not sure if it connected to yahoo.com but it is from a company called My Search Results and they claim to be a company that that this is the easiet way to search. Here is the addy for their about me page: http://corp.mysearchresults.com/about-us
    I kinda think it may also have some kind of spyware involved. This worked for me. I hope this fixes this nuisance.

  • How do get rid of a tab group without closing the tabs? How do I take tabs out of a group?

    I accidentally put all my tabs in one group. I'd like to get rid of the group without closing all the tabs in it; in other words, to undo putting all the tabs in one group. It would be useful to know how to remove a tab from a group without closing the tab, accidentally putting a tab in the wrong group will probably be a common error that needs to be easily undone.

  • How can I get rid of multiple tabs when I open Yahoo

    When I open Yahoo.mail, I get many tabs for Yahoo.
    I should only get one.
    How do I fix this so I'm not getting all these tabs. This started when I switched from Mail Classic to the New Mail & back again. Many of the excess tabs are for the Yahoo page that describes the two different versions of Yahoo mail.
    I'm using a MacBook & both Yahoo & Mozilla are up-to-date.
    Thanks!

    The suggestions didn't work HOWEVER I found a solution to my issue with this. So far it seems to work.
    Go into Firefox Preferences>general
    I reset the opening page from Yahoo In Box (which seemed to be the problem) to the default. Opened it all up then returned to Firefox Preferences & reset it back to Yahoo In Box.
    Now it seems to be working ok without all those nasty tabs slowing me down.

  • How does one get rid of new tab pop ups ?

    using google chrome.on a macbook pro.New tab pop ups called MacKeeper
    Could anyone in simple terms show me how to remove this bug.

    There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware.
    Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of today, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
    The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
    Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
    Here something is a variable word, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes the word is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
    If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
    In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
    where the word something is the same as before.
    If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
    Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
    The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
    If it has a subfolder named just
               something
    where something is the same word you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
    Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
    there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
    It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
    Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
    If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
    If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
    The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
    This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
    In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
    Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
              Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
              Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • I cannot get rid of a tab/website even after removing/reinstalling Firefox

    I have a tab/website that I cannot close. Every time I try, I receive a large window that states "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? PRESS ESCAPE OR CLOSE THIS ALERT", then the site remains. I removed Firefow from my computer. Then went to the Firefox web site, re-installed Firefox and the same website/tab in still there.
    What is happening here?

    You can leave one tab extra open and middle-click the problem tab to close that tab.<br />
    Firefox doesn't display a close button on the last tab, so you need to close that problem tab while other tabs are still open.
    Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js to prevent Firefox from restoring the last session.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore
    Set the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes] to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • Cannot get rid of a tab in Access Manager

    I am trying to remove the "Federation" tab in the Access manager. I modified the amAdminConsole.xml file by commenting out the tab, as shown below, but it still does not go away. Any ideas on what I should be doing?
    I also tried removing the tab through the admin console's Service Configuration and going to the field Administrative Console Tabs which has a list of the four tabs. That did not remove the tab - maybe I am not doing it right?
    amAdminConsole.xml:
    <AttributeSchema name="iplanet-am-admin-console-view-menu"
    type="list"
    syntax="string"
    i18nKey="d109">
    <DefaultValues>
    <Value>module101_identity|/amconsole/user/UMHome</Value>
    <Value>module102_service|/amconsole/service/SMHome</Value>
    <Value>module103_session|/amconsole/session/SMHome</Value>
    <!-- <Value>module104_federation|/amconsole/federation/FSHome</Value>
    -->
              </DefaultValues>
    </AttributeSchema>
    Thanks.

    Modifying the xml file does not do the job. These service-descriptions are loaded into Directory Server AM searches for services. AM look into the DS to find the services.
    Edit the tabs by modifiying the administration service using amconsole.
