Difficulty in connecting to Wi-Fi in areas other than my home

My husband and I both have an iTouch. When we are in public areas, sitting next to each other, his iTouch immediately accesses the business's wi-fi - mine doesn't. (Both of us have 4.3, but I have 4.3.1 which I recently downloaded. He has 3G iTouch, I have 4G and we've been using iTouch for over a year). What mine does is either sign on and then immediately drop the connection or gives me a message saying 'can't access' or however it reads, I don't recall the exact words; all I know is my husband's iTouch immediately accesses the internet but mine does not or it goes back and forth between a check mark and "Not connected". It is very frustrating as I have double checked everything I can think of (settings, pop3, etc) but the problem persists.

Hello anndoebler,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Have you tried resetting your iPod's Network settings? To do this, head to *Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network settings. After your iPod Touch has finished rebooting, try reconnecting and testing different Wi-Fi networks to see if makes a difference.
It might also help to take a look at this article as well for more troubleshooting techniques and information.

dg4odbc to connect to mysql rc 28500 something other than invalid authoriza
    Hi,
We are trying to establish connectivity from oracle to mysql using dg4odbc and openlink ODBC drivers. I get the following error when queries are run on mysql tables from within
    oracle/db links.

Has anyone encountered similar issue while configuring dg4odbc....I never had trouble with hsodbc. Since hsodbc is desupported , We are evaluating dg4odbc and openlink odbc
drivers to establish connectivity to mysql and stuck at this point.
Any suggestion from gateway gurus ?
    Thanks in advance,

  • TS1398 My iPhone's wifi connection is slow compared to my other devices at home.

My iPhone's wifi connection is slow compared to my other devices in my house. I'm ranging from 2-3.5 Mbps on the iPhone while my other devices are getting speeds of 35-40 Mbps. I'm right next to my AirPort Extreme ac. I've tried resetting every possible device. I've done a reset of my phone ( no data lost). Any suggestions?

Remove all power from the router for about 15 seconds. If that doesn't fix it check if you have MAC filtering enabled on the router. If you do the iPhone needs to be added to the Allowed list.

  • How to connect to database with a schema other than current user?

    Dear all,
I would like to know whether it is possible to specify a specific schema while connecting to a database directly by SQL*Plus command. Usually here is what I do (assuming that db01.WORLD is already in tnsnames.ora)
$ sqlplus scott/[email protected], in this case the user is SCOTT and the current schema is also SCOTT. If I want to change the current schema I have to use an ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA command. So what I would like to know is that whether there is an alternative, that is, proceeding in a way where the user SCOTT connects directly (by using SQL*Plus shell) to a SCHEMA other than SCOTT (in other words, is it possible to specify the desired schema at the connection time, for example user SCOTT who connects under a schema named 'management')
    Thanks in advance,
    Dariyoosh

The ordinary way to do this is to
1 - grant object privileges from the other schema to scott (Refer to the GRANT command in the online documentation)
2 - create a private synonym in the Scott user (Look up CREATE SYNONYM in the documentation)
The only other solution would be to make sure to create an after login trigger running the alter session command.
    Finally two words of advise
1 You are recommended to leave the user Scott alone, and not mess it up with your own additions.
2 You seem to treat this forum as a free Oracle class. As the people responding here are volunteers you are kindly advised to stop doing that and use the online documentation at http://tahiti.oracle.com and read at least the 'Getting Started' document and/or the '2-Day' document for your unknown version of Oracle.

  • How can I connect to a different database schema, other than adobe?

I'm building an application where I want to use a different database for it,for storing additional data for the users(different from "edcprincipaluserentity" table in "adobe" database stores)..How I can connect to my database schema created in MySQL from Workbench,to assign tasks to my users, using the Process Management/Assign Task service?

You can only assign task to user that are known by the LiveCycle User Manager.
When you configure LiveCycle, you can tell it where you want to get the users from. They can be created them locally in the local database, or synchronized from an LDAP directory in which case it'll read the users from LDAP and make a copy of some of the properties to the internal LiveCycle database.
Bottom line, all users have an id (in the edcprincipalentity table) in the adobe database.
If you need your users to come from a different database, then you need to customize the SPI (security provider interface) so that you can synchronize the users coming from your external database. Again, this is a customization since out of the box, we don't synchronize against external database. But it is possible, the API is there and other customers have done it.
I hope this clarifies things a bit.

  • Does anyone provide connection to SAP sys. thru SolMan other than for SAP?

I have had staff ask IF there are issues with having 'off shore' consultants log into our landscape thru SolMan?
My preference would be NOT to, as we have we would be generating long distance charges as well as the connections tend to time out during a period that they are not in use.
I believe this connection was meant to only have SAP log in to our systems for the purpose of trouble shooting issues for messages
    Anyone? please advise
    Thanks& Regards,
    Maria

I think it depends on what you want your offshore consultants to do in your systems.
If they have all access on the remote systems and on your SolMan, it doesn't really matter how they logon, wether it is using a gui or using the remote connections in SolMan.
    They have the same authorities.
So, a best practice...... It's all up to your own wishes.
All I know is SAP suggests that you administrate all your systems from Solution Manager.
1 Access point to all systems. And when setup properly, you only need to logon once.
From a technical point of view, I'd recommend setting it up.
As far as the workcenters are concerned, these are webdynpro pages.
They do exactly the same as the "normal" ABAP transactions. It only looks a bit more user-friendly.
Plus the oversight is better. The content of the tabbed areas is logically grouped.
Read the following document, might be helpfull

  • Connecting towifi other than at home

hi hope you can help. I can connect to the wifi at home with no problems but i cannot get a coonection to any others including bt open zone and other unlocked wifi. the ipod touch says i am connected but then does not allow me to access internet. can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Many free WiFi spots also have a login page that you must complete before you are allowed access. Basically, you agree to their terms and conditions of use.
When trying out a free spot, tap WiFi and then tap the name of the network the touch has found. After the connected message, wait for 10-20 seconds more. If there is a login page, you will see a Safari-like page pop up that you can use to agree to the terms of use. OK that and you should have access.

  • Wifi connection - can you get it anywhere other than home?

    Hey
Sorry if this question has been answered 100000000000000 times before, I have searched posts.
Can you get internet access anywhere in London, shops, tube etetc without having to put in a password??
    Thanks

You may find free WiFi hotspots around London in cafes, etc, or even peoples home wireless networks (although using other peoples WiFi is stealing and you can be arrested for it).
There is a nation-wide WiFi service that you might want to consider, it will only give you a connection when you are near one of their 7500 hotspots which are most in bars, pubs and phone boxes.
The service is provided by 'The Cloud' and they have done a special deal with Apple for the iPod touch, you can get a months service for £3.99. Once you are signed up you never need to log in again to their service, as soon as you are near one of their hot spots your iPod will connect to it (if you have WiFi turned on). I need to connect to 2 tracks which are in 2 different NWDI Servers using the same NWDS instance.
Track 1 is based on  NW 7.0 SP21 and another one is based on SAP NW 7.0 Ehp1 version which are in different NWDI servers.

    I have done the following.
Imported the Track for NW 7.0 SP21
I have entered the DTR URL, under Development Configuration pool and then created a DTR Client and imported the track as required into NWDS.
When i want to import the track for Ehp1, i have changed the SLD URL to point to the Ehp1 SLD under Dev. Configuration pool.
I have created a client with the Ehp1 DTR URL, and when i try to import the development configurations  and click on Remote,
I am always authenticated against the Build Server of the existing Configuration (ie) NW 7.0 SP21 and i am unable to import the track from the new NWDI Server.
When i completely removed all configurations and try a fresh Connection to Ehp1 first i am able to connect to the track and import.
From there when i try to import NW 7.0 SP21 by changing the Development Configuration Pool URL and by creating a new Client, I used to authenticated against Ehp1 build server instead of SP21 build server. So i am unable to import and work with 2 tracks which are different NWDI servers in a single instance of NWDS.
Please let me know how i can go ahead to get the tracks which are in different NWDI servers to be available in a single NWDS instance. Is it possible by the way?
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi Sekar,
My suggested work around (my personal preference) would be to install the NWDS versions on separate machines to avoid all the troubles and confusion with the default .DTR/.DTC/.metadata folders as mentioned by Pascal in this thread
Multiple NWDS Versions on one Workstation?
IMHO, a different machine also allows you to experiment more freely with another version of browser/client platforms (e.g. IE8/Windows 7/etc.).
In our case, we installed the newer version on developers' machines (oftenly used going forward) and install the older version on another shared machine (used for maintenance only until the cutoff).
Maybe other gurus (who often have to work on several different versions for different customers) can provide us with some tips here.
    Hope it helps.
