Difficulty logging into e-mail

For the last couple of weeks I have had difficulties logging into my e-mails from the bt.com home page. I type in my e-mail address and password, hit log in - and NOTHING happens - the screen just "freezes" without any informaation at the bottom of the screen showing what was happening.
Sometimes it will happen just onece, and then it's OK, but at other times (like today) I had to access my e-mails via another route. I tried again some considerable time later and I logged on at the second attempt.
As you can imagine I am getting a little frustrated.

Include on the form the url of the login page, the BT ID or BT Yahoo login details you are using and your email address?

    If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
    Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

    What mail provider are you currently using (Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo?).
    Open up safari and go to that providers website and log into your email.
    If you get in than open the mail app and click on mail on the top of the screen, then go down to preferences, click on the accounts tab, and type your password. Close the window and it will save.
    If this doesn't work I would even try deleting the account by going into mail/preferences/accounts and clicking the - button in the bottom left corner. Than re add and configure the account by pressing the + button.

    I am using a Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop computer. I can log-into Verizon from Windows Vista Home Premium or any Linux version using Firefox 8.0, I am unable to log-in with Firefox 8.0.1 with Mageia Linux 1.

    I did all the steps suggested by you, viz. clearing the cache and removing all the cookies of all the Google products. Unfortunately, when I tried to log into my G-mail account, the original problem I had posted, '''just returned'''! ! So, I have not been able to successfully log on to G-mail from Mozilla Firefox 8, the current version I am using.
    In the mean while, I found that logging in to G-mail from the Google Chrome browser works fine. But I am not happy with the Chrome, as it lacks many of the elegant features of Firefox.
    Further, from the HELP forum of G-mail,
    I found that they have updated G-mail to "G-Mail2" and now to "Better G-Mail2". But I was unable to get any information on how to create an account under either of those newer versions from Firefox.
    So, I have to sadly report that your suggested solution did not work, nor was I able to log in to any of the newer versions.
    Please HELP! Please HELP! Please HELP!

  • Having difficulty logging into website on Safari

    I am trying to log into a password-protected website since yesterday.... if I 'clear history and website data', I am able to see the log in form.  Once I've done that, all I see is 'welcome, Tricia' but no form.  I have to click 'clear history...' again each time to log in.  No issues with Firefox in doing this.  The website support says the issue is not on their end.  Any advice?  Thanks! 

      Go step by step by step and test.
    1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
        Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
        Restart the computer.
        Start up in Safe Mode.

    2. Delete Caches.db
        Close all windows and quit all applications.
        Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
        Select "Library" from the dropdown.
        Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
        Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
        Close windows and relaunch Safari.
    3. Empty Caches
        Safari > Preference > Advanced
        Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
        Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
        Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    4. Delete Cookies
        Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
        Click “Details” button.
        Remove all cookies except from Apple, your ISP and banks.

    And you went into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, tapped on your account and chose Delete Account? And then went through the steps to set it up again?

    Just what account are you trying to add? The iCloud mail account automaticaly gets added for the account used on the iPod

  • Firefox 6 forces you to log into e-mail again & again, since you can't view an e-mail & simply close that tab.. I want to close the tab, not exit the function I am in. How do I uninstall Firefox 6 & go back to the previous version?

    With Firefox 6, you can't close the tab you are in and remain in the program; opting to close one e-mail means you are forced to exit the (e-mail) program completely and then go back into it...this is ridiculous if you are trying to read all your e-mails...not have this issue.     I am unwilling to attempt navigation away from these sites. The pop-ups that occur on the attempt to leave a site or to close the browser are exit traps offering incentive to stay.
    Once upon a time, when the internet was less dangerous, I would be willing to close the exit pop-ups. Now, after twice being infected with malware trying to close the pop-ups, I now force close whichever browser I am using.
    Recently, I clicked on the red X to close one pop-up, and it installed a trojan that I had to pay to be removed. When I clicked on 'Leave' in another exit pop, it didn't exit and it turned out I was giving permission to run a script file. Now that criminals have learned these exit pop-ups can be used to force a click action, the sites using them have become dangerous.
    If I force the browser to close using Task manager, Please tell me how to stop FireFox from sending me directly back to the same site because it mistakenly believes it crashed when it did not. I forced it to close because I was on a site that had taken control of my browser and was not allowing me to leave the site.
    No other browser sends me back to the potentially dangerous sites. I prefer Firefox, but the new version must have a setting that allows me to get safely away from a problem site?

  • TS4002 iCloud works fine but have to log into iCloud mail on line.  It is no longer is available from desktop icon on the dock

    On the imac, I have to log in to icloud to get mail. Clicking on the mail icon on the bottom no longer works.  I get mail fine on the ipad and iphone.  What gives?

    Go to System Preferences > iCloud and check if the Mail option is ticked. If it doesn't work, try to log out and log in

    As I just said on another thread, this is a very common problem with Mail. I've had this problem in every recent OS and on three different computers, and everyone I know who has tried Mail has had this problem.
    Solution: drop Mail and use a working mail server such as Thunderbird.

    i Have always used my network solutions based (via the internet) mail service...I would now like to use my imail account which I believe has a .mac email address linked to it but when I try to access it it looks for an SMTP.MAC password....when i input my .mac password it does not work, any thoughts from the assmebled gurus out there??? thanks in advance.

    well .mac isnt a pop type email account it works via IMAP
    however if your being asked for a password it should be the same password you use to login to the account as if you went to www.mac.com
    you could choose to save the password in keychain so you dont always get asked for it
    im pretty sure i was never asked for the smtp password though
