Difficulty playing yoville with firefox.

i play yoville on face book. i use firefox to go on facebook and play yoville because it worked better than safari. recently on face book (about 2 weeks ago) to be able to play videos, i counde not play videos, and a message would come up saying that i had to up grade adobe flash to 9.0 or something like that to play videos). so i down loaded and installed the up graded adobe flash with no problem, and was able to see videos again with out a problem, i can use the computer (an i mac ) easily to do any thing i want, but since that day i have had difficulty playing yoville. I had also been getting the prompt to up grade fire fox on my comp, so i did this thinking this would help the problem but it did not make a difference. I have problems with delays loading the game, delays moving from room to room, being able to change the avitars clothes, and being able to load my items so that i can decorate my room or trade with other players. I removed the adobe flash player from my system and since then i am able to play yoville with out too much of a problem on safari but cant play on firefox. it was always a little difficult to play on safari for the same reasons, problems loading, and that why i started using firefox, and did not have a problem un till now. i communicated with zynger about this problem and trouble shooted it with no success, they told me to empty my cache and reboot, so i just removed the aplication. I cont slightly better on firefox after that, got back to the norm on safari after that, but still not able to play. thank you

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.
If the above doesn't work then could you try disabling graphics hardware acceleration? Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
[[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]

There are two different versions of Flash, one version for IE (ActiveX) and another version for all other browsers (Plugin version). You need to install the Plugin version,
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • Reader X does not play well with Firefox 4.0.

When our webmaster uploaded a multiple page 8.5 x 11 document to our organization's web page, the download worked as expected with Internet Explorer, but showed up on Firefox 4.0 as an 11 x 17 two-page spread with a printing default of Shrink to Fit the 8.5 x 11 print page. Illegible, and crazy-making.

Because of the way Moxilla implements add-ons you have to add the Acrobat button to the toolbar in Firefox yourself.
Right-click the toolbar, choose Customize, and drag in the button - it's called "Convert" and has the Acrobat icon.

  • Do I need other antivirus program with Firefox & MS Active Sync?

Our computer guy removed AVG and installed Firefox and MS Active Sync on husband's lap top...said that was all he needed, but were is the antivirus protection????
He is running XP Business version.

If you are using Windows XP, I'd recommend using a anti-virus program. [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials Microsoft Security Essentials] is good, free and plays nicely with Firefox.

  • A Video Site I've Gone To For Years (Liveleak), Never With Firefox, When I Click To Play The Video, Downloads Box Pops Up And Says I'm Downloading The Video.

So I Go To The Site, Everything Loads Properly And Quickly, Click The Video I Want To Watch, That Video Page Comes Up, Once Again, Quickly And Properly. So I Click The Play Button To Play The Video And The "Downloads" Box For Firefox Pops Up And Shows That I'm Downloading The Video. That's Great If I Want To Download The Video, But I Don't, I Just Want To Watch It There On The Site. I Just Now Downloaded Firefox Because I've Heard So Many Great Things About It. This Site (Liveleak) Was The First Site I Went To After Downloading, So It's Of To A Bad Start With Me For Firefox. This Site Works Fine In Internet Explorer No Problems Whatsoever, So Its Not The Site.

Sounds that you are missing the plugin that is used to play those videos embedded in Firefox.<br />
Your system details list doesn't show any media player plugin, so you will either have to check if the plugin(s) are installed, but disabled or install missing plugins.

You may need the new WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll) because Flash always uses a dedicated player to play the videos and would never offer to save videos directly unless an extension is used.

  • Firefox stops responding when I try to play words with friends, eventually a box pops up about script

First, let me say I have the latest version of Firefox and Adobe Flash Player and Java Script. When I click to play Words With Friends (on pc) my computer starts racing and sounds loud and every thing freezes. If I try to click on slider or anything else, it says Mozilla Firefox (not responding), then it takes several minutes and a box pops up that says something about a script, do I want to continue or ?(I can't remember), after I click continue, I can play the game, but, at any given time Firefox will stop responding again!! A box also pops up from AVG saying that Firefox is using too much memory. Just an aside, I can play Scrabble on Facebook without any problems whatsoever. Please help, it is driving me crazy. Thanks

  • I'm having a lot of issues with firefox and cannot figure out how to get help. It began when I updated to 13. I get all kinds of ad popups, I cannot play one

I'm having a lot of issues with firefox and cannot figure out how to get help. It began when I updated to 13. I get all kinds of ad popups, I cannot play one game on FaceBook called Farm Town at all, and I keep getting an AVG popup about cookies that I cannot get rid of. These issues are causing me to use Chrome very often even though I like Fox better. I've searched and searched how to get help and cannot find anything. How does one get personal technical help?? These issues do not happen in Chrome at all. Thanks.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

  • I continually have problems with Firefox freezing when I try to play Farmville or on Pinterest. Have tried suggested fixes.

I have an HP laptop; windows 7; core i7; wireless. I have been having problems for several months with Firefox freezing or not responding when I try to play farmville or add pins on Pinterest. I have tried the suggested fixes, without much luck. I un-installed Firefox and re-installed ; went thru the fixes for the plug-in etc. I don't know what else to tell you, but I am not very computer literate.

You didn't say what it is you tried, so we may end up telling you to do the same
things again. So please bear with us.<BR><BR>
I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and<BR>
    add-ons were changed / reset. Try this;
'''''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]'''''
<BR>While you are in safe mode;<BR>
    '''''Firefox Options > Advanced > General'''''.<BR>
Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.<BR>
Then check ALL of your settings. Browser and add-ons.<BR><BR>
    Clear the Cache<BR>
    '''''Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"'''''<BR><BR>
    and<BR><BR>
    Remove Cookies<BR>'''''Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"'''''<BR><BR>

  • Can I get an older release of Firefox? 36.0 does not play well with Windows 7.

Firefox 36.0.4 does not play well with Windows 7. If it opens at all, it freezes within a minute so the screen goes pale and I get the classic spinning circle of death. Then the header says (not responding).
Ideally I would like to drop back to version 32 or 33, but 34 and 35 had fewer problems.
Can I find older versions anywhere?

You can [[Install an older version of Firefox]] any time. But which will cause significant security risk. So If you can't use the latest version of Firefox, we recommend that you use the latest version of another browser.
