Difficulty Syncing Tungsten E2

I have an old Tungsten E2 (about 2008 vintage). It synced fine until about a year ago. I use a USB cable to sync. I have installed the Palm 6.2 software on my computer. My computer is an older compter, about 2003; it is 32 bit. Desktop Palm works fine to capture contacts and calendar, etc.. I have done a hard reset on the Tungsten; it is now empty of all data. Message displayed on Tungsten is "The connection between your device and the desktop could not be establsihed. Please check your setup and try again". When the hotsync button is pushed, there is a triple chime from the computer; this would seem to imply that there is some communicaiton happening. Hot Sync Manager is set to USB (in connections section)

I have the same problem - I'm still using Windows XP Professional. I do hear the click when I try to Hot Sync but there is nothing showing under hot sync on my palm or computer. If I use the original disc that came with the palm will I lose all my data? How can I back up the data and keep it?

Prior to 10.5.2 (Feb. '08) I was easily able to use isync and share my Nokia's 3G/GPRS connection with the MacBook Pro. Since 10.5.2 I believe, I have had difficulty syncing - I get error messages saying that the synchronization failed. I can no longer connect and share the 3G connection, - an error message about PPP...Can anyone suggest a work around or perhaps Apple's engineering can put in a fix in 10.5.3??? Actually I was answering Paul who does have an iMac but it doesn't matter one way or the other - the same answer applies. Odd that you have the same settings in security and sharing but it doesn't work in one direction. Are you sure you are using the right password? Have you attempted sharing with a different account on that computer?

It could be that the existing wire in your appartment is not clean enough to provision DSL only. When combined with the phone possibly it has a higher line voltage and worked before. Now that the line is to be provisioned without phone service it may be giving them trouble that did not show before they came out and ran the new line test. So a new jack dedecated for your DSL line may require a new wire be run to your appartment. Also the account for internet only used to require direct billing to a credit card or something else. This was a number of years ago. Most accounts are linked to a phone number, and without a voice number it adds to the confusion.
If you are getting the voice and everything turned on as before, then I am at a loss for words.

I am having great difficulty syncing my iPhone 5 and especially with the Apple ID and password. It never lets me in. I will change my password and it gets reset but when I go to use it, the window message says incorrect password even after I have reset it successfully. I have done this now at least ten times and I am at wits end to be able update apps or get info I need. Apple ID/PW process is not user friendly at all. Please HeLP!!!!!
Now I am trying to add songs and ringtones to my phone and it won't connect so I can sync things. I really need help. Seriously.!!!

This sounds like a possible permission issue with the iTunes Media Folder. Follow the steps in the article below to make sure the permissions are set to read and write. You can also navigate to ~/music/iTunes/iTunes Media and get info on to make sure permissions are set to read and write.

Hi, I saw a post by Eaglesfan723 asnwered by AlanG. It seems T3 can sync with Windows 7 64-bit using bluetooth. Before I try, I wanted to confirm if eaglesfan723 used Palm Desktop 6.2 or v4.x. Dear eaglesfan723 or Alan, I would be grateful if you could provide more details on how you managed to get T3 to sync with your Windows 7 machine. My PC is a n HP Touchsmart with native bluetooth. OOPS hit enter by accident when titling thread.
Been trying to sync my T5 with Outlook. ALL I want is my calendar and contacts. I don't want my docs to sync (plus there's NO WAY they'd ever fit on the palm, waaaaaaaaaaaay too many).
When I try to sync, it 'hangs' on syncing documents (for an hour or more)... so I have to shut it off and 'end program' on my pc.
Gone into settings of docs to go, and on the palm and unchecked the docs from the list of items to be synced, and yet it still tries, and gets 'hung' on it.....
Not sure what I've done wrong, or how to make it stop trying

I am electronic devices challenged! I can not get my newly acquired Palm Tungsten T5 to sync with my computer. I bought 2 identical palms on Ebay because I intend to use them to keep score at the softball games I coach. Please HELP !!!

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
You're not giving us much information to go on, such as your desktop operating system, 32-bit or 64-bit, what version of palm Desktop you installed, what happens (exactly) when you try to Hotsync.
If you have not already done so, I suggest you start by going through the very first "stickied" thread in this board about Hotsync troubleshooting (here). It also has links to Palm's Hotsync Troubleshooting support article.

Hot Sync / Tungsten C

When ever I hot sync the log says Source File on handheld cannot be found for Successful Brainstor_1. Any suggestions?

Sounds to me like you deleted a file related to a conduit for some third-party software.
Look at the list of running conduits in HotSync Manager and see if one of them relates to this Brainstor item. It seems likely that you should disable this conduit and set the disable to be permanent.

Difficulty syncing

My laptop was stolen and am now having to use an older one on which ITunes was set up using hubby's iPhone - he now has his own mac air. How can I sync my phone to iTunes without losing my data and music. Can i just delete the data as its not needed and start afresh. I need to update my phone to get the latest update. This is an urgent request. Thanks

What is the exact wording of the error message?
Is all the synced media (all, music etc) in your iTunes library?
If the iPod appears in iTunes go to the Muisc Pane and make sue the syning entir library is not checked.

Help! Lost data on my ancient, not synced Tungsten E

My long-serving Tungsten E has been on it's last legs, and I finally pushed it too far. It has not held a charge well for a while, but if it ever completely lost it's battery in the past it has always had the data still there when it powered back up - even if it asked me to reset. But this time when it powered up it asked me to reset and then the data was gone. I had not backed it up for several months so all of my future schedule is lost.
Does anyone know if there is some way I can recover the information that was only in my handheld?

Hi, unfortunately if the data is gone from the handheld, with no desktop backup, there is no way to get it back.

Is anyone else having difficulty syncing yahoo contacts with icloud?

I don't know how long it has been since my yahoo contacts quit syncing with icloud to my ipod touch 4g. I've tried every possible combination today and nothing will get it to work other than going back to the old way of syncing through itunes with the cable connected.
The yahoo group of contacts is blank on my ipod but it seems to be syncing with the "All from My Pc" group which I don't quite understand. I thought before the yahoo group of contacts was full of the yahoo syncd contacts.
I use Yahoo mail so I'm not crazy about moving over to Google although I did already move to use the Google calendar with an android tablet and I am syncing the google calendar just fine with both the android tablet and the ipod touch.

Yes, I've had call quality issues with my S5. I can hear callers just fine. To them, I sound broken, or they hear nothing but static and garbled noise. Speakerphone works, but is not ideal. Bluetooth works, but I'm not always in my car or connected to bluetooth. A plugged in headset works.
For a time, turning off bluetooth seemed to resolve this. Then I did the update to Lollipop, and the issue intensified. I've tried multiple setting combinations (HD calling off and on, Bluetooth off and on, network Global to LTE/CDMA, Noise reduction off and on, etc...) I've done a system cache clear, FDR, deactivated and reactivated.... finally activated another phone I had available since the S5 was pretty much unusable as a phone. And I'm waiting for a patch to see if it makes a difference.
I wish I had a solution....
