Difficulty to modify photo's name

good day,
I want to change the name of my photo (something like P1000893) to "nnn - Title", in order to know what the photo is about.
So, I click into the name, and usually the text zone becomes editable and I can modify the name.
But frequently, the zone does not stay editable, and therefore the characters you are typing are interpreted by iPhoto as shortcuts, so that you do not get the expected effect ...
This is really borrying, especially when the event contains hundreds of pictures.
Does anybody know this issue and how to fix it?
Thank you

Often problems with renaming photos or events is associated with the Helvetica Neue font. Open the Font Book utility, locate the Helvetica Neue font, deactivate it and then reactivate it. See if that will jump start the renaming feature.
If needed, delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and try again.

  • Photo file names Deleted by iPad

Asked this 3 months ago, but got no response. Can't understand what iPad does to photo file names. 1. Can't see photo file name in albums/events. 2. when iPad emails photo, the file that is received is called only La Foto (the photo, my wife uses spanish). If I send her a photo with a name I assigned (date, camera-assigned number, file size), and she saves it to an album and sends it back, the file name I sent her is gone, and photo is simply La Foto. How can you organize or keep track of photos, w/o info such as name, date, camera number, etc.? And why does iPad remove specifically created names? Nothing in Manual or Settings on this.
We've an iPad, and also a MB Air and iMac.

Thanks for your time doing the check.
I'm sorry that currently I don't have the similiar resource to do the same.
I guess that it might be the difference caused by different iOS / idevice.
I think that I'll check and modify the app after I got iOS 6 devices.
Thanks for your comments and your time.
Thanks for your reply, and I hope you get a more recent device soon for Father's/Mother's Day or whatever!  I'm a little confused as to what the situation is.  According to w'pedia the iOS 5 that you have does have photostream, but I don't know if it supports multiple streams (which you create by touching the + when in photostream).  Is the problem that your version does not support multiple streams so you can't test the issue I raised, or is it that it does support multiple streams and works correctly with iOS 5 but not with iOS 6?
PS: I've checked, and find my iPod has the same limitation as I mentioned above with the iPad.

  • Lost Photo after changing photo file name

Due to duplicate file name, e.g. P1002534.jpg in my photos, I was trying to rename some of them to a different name. I did that through Finder and other tools (e.g. Renamer) but apply directly to /iphoto libray/original or /iphoto libray/modified libraries.
After that I find that the thumbnail of the photo is still in iphoto but cannot display the photo itself.
I suspect that is because I modified the file name directly and not using iphoto function, the index is all screw up.
How can I recover from this, is there a reindex function or do I have to delete the iphoto library and then re-import the photos for the whole library again.
    Appreciate for any advice.

You are correct - it is extremely important that you never make any changes of any sort to the structure or content of the iPhoto library - it is a SQL database and there are no user servicabe parts in it - and there never is a need to go into it

Best way is to load your backup from before you made this mistake
If you do not have a backup you must - people, software and computers fail and when they do you lose things if you do not have a backup
If you can put the library back exactly likeit was in every respect that will sork (usually that is not possible)
short of a backup or putting it back you must start over using the original folder from your library and importing those original photos into a new library

  • Saving Modified Photos Using Elements Version 11

I recently upgradedfrom "Elements 2" to Version 11.  I previously saved all my edited work in JPEG format and to the "My Pictures" folder.  I was then able to open all modified photos and share them with another computer without resorting to any specialised program.  I wish to continue to do the same using Version 11.  Having made several attempts without success to save modified photos using my well tried and successful method and having read the Manual to see why the process is not successful with Version 11 I am now exteremely frustrated.  Each attempt to save a modified photo results in a Thumbnail icon being loaded into the "My Pictures" folder with the elements 11 logo.  I then are only able to open the photo (which incidently does not carry the modified file name from the original) by way of the elements 11 program.  What am I missing/doing wrong?

    Dear swharton07,
    Thank you for these thoughts.
    When you say:
"Do you have your preferences set to save the files in My Pictures?", did you mean going to the "Edit" heading in Elements 11 workspace and then selecting "Preferences" then "Saving Files" and then "File Saving Options". I have done that and on the three Dialogue Boxes have the following active:
a.. "On First Save" - Ask if Original
b.. "Image Previews" - Always save
c.. Have also ticked "Save as to Original Folder"
I have not been able to find a Preference selection that allows me to specifically set "save the files in My Pictures".
By way of additional background here are the details of what I have been doing with a failure on every occasion.
a.. My O/S is "Windows XP Home"
      b.. I open Elements 11 program
c.. Import a photo direct from My Photos" with File Name IMG_1234
      d.. Modify the photo
e.. Select File then "Save As"
f.. In dialogue box select save position in a sub folder of My Pictures and rename modified photo IMG_1234.1
      g.. Select format as  "JPEG"
h.. Tick box "Include in Elements Organiser
      i.. Quality "High"
j.. Format option selected as "Baseline (Standard)"
      k.. Save
l.. Close modified photo in Elements 11
m.. Go to My Pictures and the desired sub-folder
n.. All I can see is an Icon with no photo depiction and icon has same file number as original photo (that is not the modified file number)
o.. Try to open photo using Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3 Get message "Items listed were not imported -File is damaged or an unsupported format and then there is a further message showing C/: etc and last past of that message is showing the modified file number.
I am at my wits end as to what the problem might be and becoming increasingly frustrated to the point of wondering why I should be bothering  with as well having paid  for Elements 11 in the first place.

  • Adding link to the photo and Name in the outlook contact card -Enterprise wide

How can I make the name and photo in the outlook contact card link to my profile page? I read articles where it is mentoined that the URL is set in Registry, currently my organization does not have any link associated with photo and name in contact card.
I want to implement this across the organization , any deployment or changes that I need to do to implement this across?
Appreciate if you can provide details on how this is done. The url will look like this:
    https://www.produrl.com/userid={userid}
How can I dynamically add respective userid in the link?Appreciate your response on this.

So you want to redesign the contact card in Outlook? Are you using SharePoint? If signed into sharepoint via the social connect, there is a link to the mysharepoint page under View source. I don't think you can change the link or customize the card,
    beyond what is listed here:

    Hi,
What version of oracle are you using? If it is 9i,
    then you can the command
    alter table <table_name> rename column <column_name> to <new_column>;
if it is 8i or earlier, you can create a view with the required names.

iMessage on MacBook Pro shows i'm my friend. My friend's photo and name shows in every conversation instead of mine. How do I fix this?

I am using my own Apple ID.  (My father doesn't even have one).  I seem to recall having to select a contact or something to assign to my iMessage app when I used it the first time on my iPad.  I checked the settings and it is set to my apple ID and correct email address.  Any other ideas?

  • How do I change a photo file name, e.g. DSC001, etc.?

When I either import or download digital images into IPhoto, I need to change the filename in some instances.  Using the Information feature in IPhoto, I give the photo a name or identifier and add other information.  However, when I then burn the photo to a CD, the original filename, e.g. DSC001, etc. shows up.  How can I change it?

Select the photo, then Press Command + I or go to View > Info and double click the photo filename to rename it.
    Best,
    Aaron
That does NOT change the file name and does not help (Unless you use the option to use the title for the file name during export) - You can not change the file name while the photo is in iPhoto (unless you do so using the finder awhick will corrupt your library and cause data loss)

You edit the name in the Corkboard view.

  • Sort photos by name

Not sure what I'm missing here.
Basically I had a project full of photos imported from a camera, and also some others added from photostream from my iPhone.
I have now added the photostream in iyts entirity, thinking I would be able to order the photos by name and go through and remove duplicates from the project.
By default, Aperture has added the recently added photos from photostream after all the photos that were already there.
I thought to reorder I just had to Right Click the project name, then select Keep Arranged By > Name.
    Bu this isn't doing anything.
I've tried selecting all the photos I want to sort, then trying.
I've tried creating an Album in the Project, but still no joy.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

The Keep arranged by that you get when you right click a project actually has to do with how folders and albums in that project are arranged when you look at them in the Library tab of the inspector. It doe not apply to the images in the project.
To sort the images in the project open a browser on the project and use the  sort pulldown.

  • How do I sort photos by name after newest update?

I downloaded the newest iTunes update last week and now al my photos on my iPad are in chronological order. I prefer my photos in name order because I have specific order I want to view them in. Is there anyway to fix this? It's so frustrating!

I think that this is an issue for a lot of people.  This is the third thread I have seen on this topic today. It appears that the latest update to iTunes "Broke" this option and we are stuck with chronologicl order rather then alpha order.
This is why I bought Photo Manager Pro.  Well worth the couple of bucks I spent on it.  It allows you to create folders, import pictures into the folders and then sort them however you want to and they seem to stay sorted that way even when iTunes or iOS changes.
You might submit a feedback report, http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html to let the software engineers know that this has become a problem for you.

  • Cannot sort photos by name

I just upgraded to OS X 10.10.3 with the new Photos app. It seems that Apple left out the ability to sort photos by name. I have thousands of scanned photos -- some going back to the 1800s -- so sorting by date (which essentially is the scan date) does not make any sense. Using iPhoto, I named the photos with the date in yyyy-mm-dd format and sorted on name to get the photos in the proper sequence. On some of the photos, I could only determine the year, so that's all that was used in the naming. Sorting should be available on a variety for fields in the photos -- both ascending and descending.

It's easier to use 3rd party apps like Photo Manager Pro. You can drag the photos around like the way you do with apps.

  • How to modify the database name

    Hi people
Im a developer and it's the first time that I use the Xe version of oracle. I need to modify the database name but I don't know how to make this. Im finding the commands but I don't meet this.
    Anyone can help me?
    Thanks
    Best Regards

    Hi,
XE is XE is XE ... ;-)
If you'd like to rename it you may get a database license for at least a STANARD EDITION ONE database, upgrade your XE to SE-ONE and then rename your database.
But (as it has been noted before) for obvious reasons there's no way to rename an XE database to something else :-)
    Kind regards
    Mike
