Difficulty using adobe reader for MAC

I have just installed the latest version of adobe reader but when I try to go to the website I want to use it says I must launch adobe reader and accept the end user license agreement. How do I do this?

Have you launched Adobe Reader from your applications folder and accepted the agreement like it's asking?

Adobe Reader for Mac messes up my mouse driver

After installing the latest version of Adobe Reader for Mac on Tiger 10.4, viewing any .pdf file has the effect of changing many of my single mouse clicks into double mouse clicks until reboot. It begins when I click on the page-down sidebar and the reader jumps ahead two pages. Next, randomly about 80% of my mouse clicks become double-clicks in any application until I reboot. I thought I had seen this problem in an earlier version but it seemed to resolve itself. With the latest reader, right after reading a .pdf file I have the double-click problem.
I've dragged everything I could find from Adobe into the trash bin and use "Preview" to view pdf file. No double-click problem.

I'd recommend you get a copy of Applejack. It can do all that and find disk directory issues. Cost is reasonable---free.

Firefox not opening PDF with Adobe Reader for Mac

I have come across this problem, but i have solved my problem. The default PDF viewer with Firefox browser on Mac is Preview, so you can't use adobe reader to open PDF files, if you want to use Adobe Reader to open pdf with Firefox on mac, you need set adobe reader as your mac's default pdf viewer. Do as follows:
1. Select any PDF file and choose File > Get Info.
2. Choose Adobe Reader as your default PDF files viewer from the Browser in Download Action window.
3. Click OK to set Adobe Reader as your default PDF files viewer.

I am using Adobe Reader for Android (on an Android table) to view some PDF reports that have hyperlinks in them. In Reflow Mode, I can see the hyperlinks as blue underlined text, as I would expect. In Continuous or Single Page mode, these hyperlinks are displayed as black boxes. The hyperlinks still work if you click on the black box. Can someone tell me what is causing this and how I can fix it?

As to your question, the short and frank answer is "I don't know". The long answer is that I still don't see where the free Reader comes in your making some money. For backing up files, one does not need the program used to create or open them; one can just copy and paste them, without even opening them. And while one does need Reader or Acrobat to open the PDF files and then print them, in the eyes of this complete ignorant of the pertinent laws even in my own country, you would be fully justified if you charged for your time and for the use of your computer and your printer. As I understand things, many print shops (those using presses, not printers) print from PDF files provided by their clients without even needing to ask Adobe for permission to do so.
Let's hope that someone with a better knowledge of the legal aspects of this matter reads your question.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

Adobe reader for mac problem

I have download the Adobe reader 11.0.0 for my Macbookpro OS 10.9.2 When i try to open a document it telling me that my document is Damage... But i can open the same document on my ipad with no problem Also it is telling me the same think with any document that i am trying to open..

Are you facing the issue with any pdf's on the Mac.
Have you tried downloading a sample pdf like any Adobe help file from the website and then check if you are able to launch it fine via Reader?

Can I force Mac O/S to use Adobe Reader for a downloaded file?

We are having problems with students who use Macs downloading PDF forms from our website and then saving them from Preview instead of Reader. There is a known bug in Preview on the Mac O/S, in that it corrupts PDF forms when it saves them. So when these students upload, the files don't work properly. I would like to do something (perhaps setting a special MIME type?) that would force the Safari browser to open the file using Adobe Reader instead of Preview. Is there a way to do this?

As Michael says, no. However you can go into each computer while no students in the Room/Lab open a Group of PDF and from finder choose Get summary info. then click on open with and choose Acrobat or Reader.

Now click on the button below with title Change All then quit out of get info.
Now when they download and open PDF's they will automatically open with Reader.
You have to select a group of at least 5 or 6. And make sure any saved PDF have a mix of PDF icons (Adobe and preview).
Do with each computer affected.

Adobe Reader for Mac in Multiple Monitors

I'm using Adobe Reader 10 (AR) for Mac with three monitors. AR opens in my main monitor but when I move it to my 2nd or 3rd monitor and maximize it the document moves back to my primary monitor. Very annoying! Also, can I configure AR to open in a specified monitor so that I don't have to move it every time I open a document?

Update requests on Adobe Reader for Mac

I have a Mac using Adobe Reader 10.1.3. I have an older version 9. something. I continue to get a message to update the older version of Adobe Reader. When I try to do so, it gives me an error. Is there any reason I would need both versions or is 10.1.3 all I need? If so, how can I get rid of the older version permanently from my Mac? Thanks.

IF you have version 10, you don't need version 9. Just drag the Adobe Reader 9 folder from the Applications folder to the Trash.

Stop firefox from asking to use adobe reader for pdf's.

I have already set Firefox to use the adobe reader for pdf's. It still asks what program to use to open pdf's. Is there another setting I'm missing? IE doesn't do this. I prefer to use Firefox. It would be great to remove this nuisance.

I think I found a Windows setting that is causing the issue. I'm using
my LCD HDTV as the monitor for this computer, and in order to see the display easily, I have the following setting in Windows 7: Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Make text and other items larger or smaller > 150%.
When I change this to the default of 100%, the problems with Reader X in Firefox and IE disappear. Reader 9, however, works perfectly at 100% and 150%.
Is this a known bug in Reader X? Since the problem only appeared when moving from Reader 9 to Reader X, it seems it's not an unsolveable incompatability or something that's too difficult to work around.
Do any others with their displays magnified have this problem? Or does it work perfectly? Would anyone (preferably with Windows 7 64-bit) be willing to set their display magnification to 150% and see if they can replicate the problem?
