Difficulty with running an AS3 project in a project landscape full HD 1920x1080
Hi,
I have been running successfully an AS3 project in the IDE using the flash player that is called during text a movie however the same file running as a projector will simply display a blank screen and do nothing.
This seems to happen only with a stage of that particular size 1920x1080 as the same file will work (cropped) at smaller stage size and of a different orientation.
Any ideas?
I've had similar problems with PC and had to install drivers for the relevant devices. Not sure what the Mac equivalent is, but looking at the Android SDK docs is a good place to start as they have helped me to resolve connection to several devices in addition to allowing me to install a number of Google provided drivers.

I stress that it all works OK until the application is built. Set cell value.vi was downloaded from this site. I am using Windows 98.
Any help would be appreciated.Be sure you have your Excel activex controls properly registered in your system, there are lots of activex registerers in the web. If this does not work, look at set cell value vi and check for invalid refnums. If even this fails, i'd try reinstalling app builder, but be sure you install it before any LV update (for example 5.0.1f1) unless you want problems like i had with Excel built examples. You can also send an example, and see if i can fix it, but i don't have excel 2000 (only 97) so i don't know if i can do anything else.

I HAVE COMPLETED SEVERAL IMOVIES AND FINALIZED JUST FINE. NOW I GET THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE FROM MY LATEST PROJECT. "The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (File already open with write permission)"! What is going on?

Trash the preference files while application is NOT Running.
Easiest way to find out if this is the problem is by:
• Create a new User-Account
• Log out of Your old one and into this
• Re-try iMovie
If it now works OK - then 99.9% the problem is iMovie pref. file that needs to be trashed.

I'm having some difficulty with Time Machine. It appears to be deleting backups from random dates on my external hard drive. I am not deleting them. Are they hidden and how do I prevent this from happening? Can I retrieve them?
... I didn't know that Time Machine was more a last resort back up instead of main back up.
Don't rely upon Time Machine to the exclusion of all else. I compliment Time Machine with a periodic "clone". TM is much better than nothing, but it's a safety net, not a hammock
Here is my understanding of Time Machine's file deletion algorithm, distilled from Pondini's FAQ, Apple's KB articles, and my own observations.
Time Machine deletes ("thins") files from the backup disk as follows:
Hourly backups over 24 hours old, except the first backup of the day
Daily backups over 30 days old, except the first backup of the week
Older backups get deleted when Time Machine requires space and you deleted them from the source disk.
Therefore, assuming TM has been performing at least one backup per day, backup files will remain available:
at least thirty days, if they existed on your Mac for at least a day
until you run out of space, if they existed on your Mac for at least a week
In addition to the above, Time Machine always keeps one complete copy of your source disk so that the entire volume could be restored if necessary. Any files that remain on your source volume will be present on the TM backup, no matter how old they are.
If you are using 250 GB of space on your source disk, its Time Machine backups are likely to require at least twice that much. A good estimate of the minimum required backup volume size would be about three times the size of your source disk - 1.5 TB in your case.
A more thorough explanation would require Pondini since he has plumbed Time Machine's mysteries far more than I have.

Hi All,
I'm having seroius difficulty with Mail. Every time I start it up, it crashes within 30 seconds and I have to Force Quit every time. It has all the looks of a virus!!!!
How do I erradicate this or how do I go about reinstalling Mail. I've repaired permissions and disk (there were no errors on the disk). I've also downloaded McAfee Virex and it found nothing - I'm running out of ideas.
Can anyone help???

If/when the first OS X virus is identified, it will be all over the newswires and the internet (including these Discussions) in a matter of hours if not minutes since it will be big news.
Which Virex version did you download and install? Did you confirm the version you installed is compatible with Tiger?
Re-installing the Mail.app rarely resolves such a problem.
Quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail. Move the Mail folder to the Desktop.
Launch Mail and a new Mail folder and account named folders within will be created automatically. All account mailboxes will be empty and no user created "On My Mac" mailboxes will be available but this will determine if there is a problem in the old Mail folder moved to the Desktop.
If this resolves the crashing problem, you can replace the various files that stores Rules, Signatures and Junk Mail "learned" settings, etc. and then import various mailboxes from the old Mail folder a few at a time to determine which files and/or mailboxes are causing the problem.
If this doesn't resolve the crashing problem, with the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail. Delete the newly created Mail folder. Move the old Mail folder back to the same location at Home > Library.
Copy the Mail folder and place the copy on the Desktop for backup purposes.
Using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist. Move the com.apple.mail.plist file to the Desktop.
Note: Moving the com.apple.mail.plist file out of the Preferences folder will require re-entering all email account information when re-launching Mail.
Launch Mail and decline any prompt to import mailboxes. After re-entering all email account information the same as before, the Mail.app should rediscover the existing account named folder(s) and mailboxes at Home > Library > Mail.
After confirming all mailboxes were successfully rediscovered, you can delete the copy of the Mail folder and old com.apple.mail.plist file from the Desktop. -

Unable open Project details or a project from PWA Project server 2010 with Alias name

I am unable to open the Projects from Project center with the Alias name with the server name i am able to open the projects, version is project server 2010,
My system is ABC.DC.IN alias name i have given is DEF.AD.COM
With the system name i can able access PWA and all are working fine.
As i have observed with alias name i can able to login to pwa and all the server setting approval center all are working fine but only in the project center i am not able to open the projects (http://DEF.AD.COM/pwa/ProjectDrillDown.aspx .xxxx)

But with Alias name these are the issues i am facing,
1.when longing with alias name its asking two times for user name and password

During runtime, by default, LabVIEW has undo/redo data changes under the edit menu. This will undo/redo changes made to controls during runtime. If you want a more extensive undo/redo (custom for your application), you are going to have to do quite a few things
1) Create a custom runtime menu (Edit>>RunTime Menu) and place your own undo/redo controls on it
2) Keep an action history in your program
3) Catch the Shortcut menu event for your custom undo/redo controls
4) Reverse the last action in your histroy when you catch the event
This method would allow you undo entire operations (like resize, move, or whatever kind of functionality you are building into your application) unstead of just undoing data changes.

The drivers that you need to install to make your executable work depends on what your executable is doing. To get started, you need to have the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine installed on your target machine (the Win2000 machine you are planning to use) in order to run your executable. Next, you need to determine what drivers your executable uses, if any. For example, if you are using GPIB instrument control, you will need to install the NI-488 drivers on your target machine. If you are performing data acquisition, you will need to install NI-DAQ drivers. If you are doing image acquistion, you will need to install NI-IMAQ drivers.
All these drivers are available for downloading on ni.com. To get the drivers, go to ht
tp://www.ni.com/support , click on the link that takes you to Drivers and Updates (under Option 3), and click on the links to get to the driver(s) you need. For example, if you need the LabVIEW 5.1.1 Run-Time engine, click on the All Drivers and Updates by Application link on the main page (http://www.ni.com/softlib.nsf/). Sequence will not validate with run time prompts in business rules
I am in Hyperion Planning v 1.1.1.3, with Workforce initialized. I am creating a sequence of business rules. The rules use run time prompts within them and validate when used on their own. However, when I insert them in a sequence the sequence will not validate, apparently due to the run time prompts.
The sequence returns the error: Cannot calculate. Essbase Error(1200323): Error parsing formula for [FIX STATEMENT] (line 7): expression expected after [(].
Line 7 in the business rule is as follows:
FIX ([rtpYear],[rtpScenario],[rtpVer],[rtpCC],[rtpBU],[rtpEmp])
The problem is not isolated to this business rule, it occurs with any rule I try.
Can sequences function with run time prompts in the included business rules?
StephenI have figured out that if any rtp is hidden in the business rule, the sequence will not validate. Is this expected behavior for sequences?
Additionally, hiding the variables in the sequence has no effect if the variables are not hidden in the rule. When launched from a menu in a web form, the user is prompted for values for all variables (except for the Execution Database Name) although they are prepopulated based on the members in the POV, Page, etc. Is this also expected behavior?
I also find that it won't validate if "Merge launch variables" is selected (I have included rules associated with different plan types and with different dimensionality, so this may be expected). The user is prompted to provide values for every variable in each rule in the sequence, many of them duplicates (though, again, they are prepopulated based on members in the form).

the error is about some field you are trying to map using field-simbols, that is diferent in the other system.
Go to the code program in the st22, there you will see when the erros occurs e what field gives the error.

Big difficulty with Adobe Reader
I encounter big problems with Adobe Reader. I can read some documents and i cannot read others documents. I bought recently a new Sony computer and could install all applications without any difficulty except Adober Reader.. The process to install & use Adobe requires probably a professional. Thank for your answer. Indeed i can open some documents PDF and i cannot open others documents PDF. Some of theses documents were before under Word available and yesterday they all came automatically under Adobe Reader.Those documents i cannot open under the arguments not available or not existent.
