Diffrence in snmp RO and RW string for discovery in Cisci LMS?

i am using cisco LMS 2.6. Is it possible to discover devices through SNMP RW string?
as LMS is not doing so. is is deffendable for me to have two strings RO and RW for discovery
of the devices ?

Hi Pradeep,
RW is generally used, where you want to set certain variables on route remotely.
for example, if you want to reload router/switch remotely, or say you want to logout telent user remotely or say clear the interface stats, etc.
RO will only read the value.
As per your setting RW should work. If it is not working, then there must be some configuration issue. Either on LMS or router.
To start with compare the community string what you have configured on router and what you are using on LMS.

VISA and Scan string for tokens

Hi there,
I am currently developing a piece of software which needs to take in data from an Arduino board via the serial port and parse the input accordingly.
I have the 2 pieces of code working perfectly well separately, but I can not seem to figure out why they are not functioning properly together.
Just now, the input is being retrieved fine and passed into the Scan string for tokens method, but it is not being split on the tokens, it is just outputting the string as a whole.
The input is in the form of 1:0 2:0 3:1 etc. so I am trying to split it on any spaces found. If I attach a string to the Scan strings for tokens it works fine, just not when I am attaching the data from the serial port to it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
In the output which you are getting from the serial port, is there space between 1:0 and 2:0 and 3:1? If there is no space between them, then it wont be able to scan for tokens and will output the whole string. I don't have the hardware here and so don't know what exactly is the output which you are receiving. Try to see in the read buffer indicator whether the tokens are seperated by a space or not.
I have attached your vi after adding a small part in it. If the problem is with the spacing then this will work fine for 1:0 2:0 3:1.

With SAP and DB2 V7 still ICLI which is part of the operating system is used for DB connectivity. For details on the setup see related docs for SAP releases up to 6.20 .
As of Netweaver 2004 DB2 V8 and DB2 Connect is used.
If you're talking about Java you need a license either from IBM or if you're OEM customer for DB2 on z/OS it is delivered automatically.

Difference between Block stock and flag material for deletion is:
Block stock will only come into picture if your client says that when ever they receive stock, before quality and physical check it should not create any accounting document..So what you will do is, you will receive stock as block stock with mvt 103...Once Check is done you will release your block stock with 104....
Say for an e.g. Vendor has supplied you goods in your premises...Same time you have noticed that goods are damaged o rare of poor quality...So you will post the stock as block stock...So once you post as a block stock, there won't be any accounting documents generated....
Material flad for deletion means: That particluar material can not be used for further procurement..E.g.. may be client has stopped using that material....

SNMP Strings for Cat OS devices

I was wondering if there was a way on Cat OS devices to configure multiple snmp read-only passwords.
We use Campus Manager's User Tracking and are trying to get 1 snmp string to be used for all devices, while still keeping current snmp string in place. It will ease some of the discovery issues we are having. The is simple with IOS devices and ACL's, I just don't know how it done with Cat OS devices.

Starting with 7.4(1), the functionality to have more than one read-only or read-write community string is now available in CatOS.
Here is a sample config (with access-list applied as well):
set snmp access-list 111 10.10.10.10
set snmp community-ext john read-only access 111
set snmp community-ext doe read-write access 111
The output of show snmp will display an entry for Additional Community Strings.

Need to change snmp string for a solaris server

i am new to solaris and i need to change a snmp string for solaris server and we need to add this server into the monitoring system.
Please tell me the PKG which need to installed in the client ( solaris box ) .
As of now , i can find these PKGs installed in the machine .

before running autoconfig?If you have the latest AutoConfig patch applied, then I believe it is not required. However, it should be OK to run this command to purge FND_NODES table before running AutoConfig.

I successed to add one of theme by the option 60 in the DHCP pool at the Core SW,
So my quetion is below:

To add to Scott's post. Option 60 would be useful if you needed to put certain types of AP on specific controllers. Otherwise, no real need to use it for the most part.
Though, I do recall an issue a few years ago that some windows machines had issues getting DHCP if option 43 is being returned.
Now, on an IOS switch, you can only configure one option 60 per DHCP scope

Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

Is SNMP RO and telnet good enough for IPM?

Dear friends,
I have only SNMP RO access to the router and telnet access as well from Ciscoworks LMS.
But i dont have SNMP RW access.
Is it possible that i configure ip sla monitor manually on the routers / switches and just use IPM to poll these routers and collect the SLA statistics?

IPM requires read-write access. However, you could try configuring the collectors on the devices manually, then import those collectors into IPM using the "ipm importcollector" cli command. I haven't tested doing this without having SNMP RW configured, but it should work. IPM will just not be able to fully manage the collectors, but it should be able to poll them.
