Diffrent exchange rate at GR..........

Hi,
I have maintained an exchange rate.I have a PO which by default captures the same at the time of creation.I have not checked 'fixed rate'.
I want to know that if the material is going to be received after 15 days and every day I am maintaining the exchange rate, then will it pick up the GR date exchange rate at the time of GR ? and my valuation of the material will be updated accordingly ??
I will be paying to vendor at the rate fixed earlier not based on the GR date exchange rate.
I am maintaining MAP.
Please suggest...
Thx in advance..
Regards,
Manoj

Hi,
Thx for the feedback. The amount to be paid to the vendor is fix.He will be paid as per the amount mentioned in the PO and at the existing exchange rate at the time of creation.
I will have to do GR always before IR for some reasons.
Forget about customs which I have not included in the landed cost of material.
I will put all the condition values before making a GR by changing a PO so that all the expenses can be incurred on the material.
Now my question is that if I do a GR at a later date and also maintaining the exchange rates daily then what could be the value at which my GR will happen. Will be at the GR maintained in PO or at thr prevailing rate on the day of GR.
Or it will never get affected at GR ?

Manoj

    Hi All experts,
We wish to use a different exchange rate type for Payroll currency conversion. As we all know that the Payroll driver uses the currency coversion rate M and is hardcoded in the standard Programmes.
Now please suggest me whether it is possible in any means to use different currency conversion rate for Payroll?
Also we have explored the Global payroll, but the same has been not yet released for all customers, can I use it as it provides with the option of choosing exchange rate type on a particular date and have standard excahnge protection IT.

    Hi,
No i want system to pick diffrent exchange rate so i want to change exchange rate type for 1st Local Currency.
But that area is greyed out. Is there any system setting where i can maintain diffrent Exchange rate type for 1st Local Currency instead of "M". or is there any other way out that system will pick up diffrent exchange rate.
Problem is that two entities are operating in different market having same local currency but conversion rate for Foreign currency will be diffrent e.g. Local Currency EUR Exchange rate between EUR -USD in France 1.20 and Exchange rate between EUR-USD in Germany 1.25.
Is there any wayout to deal with such situation.

    Hello Srikanth, Giridhar,
    Thanks for your reply,
But in my case if i will maintain exchange rate type at document level then it will be applicable for both the company code hence i could not aply this way.
I have one compnay code for Hoilland Compnay 2000 & Second for Switzerland 1000. Both the companies should have local & Copany Code currency as EUR but for both the company code exchange rate should be different as per rate provided by their banks.
hence request you to please inform if any user exist or BADI is ther to over write the exchange rate M by any other exchange rate at the time of MIGO or PO creation & Sales Delivery.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Re: exchange rate did not effect for the billing M

    hi experts,
    good morning to all,
i have a doubt my company code currency is HKD.
the exchange rate given on 01.01.2011 is 10.26xxx and for 01.2.2011 given as 10.37xxx for HKD to EUR.
for january the invoices generated correctly by using M, now where as for february the invoices generated did not capture the M rate. when we see the documents it captured 11.35xxx for HKD to EUR i checked in ob08 the ex.rate for M is 10.37xxx.
so if any body face the same scenerio giveme your inputs awaiting for your golden replies and have a good day to all.
    thanks in advance,
    kumar.b

    Hi,
    I think u maintained 2 exch. rates 10.37 and 11.35 for date 01.02.2011
So system giving priority to 11.35 because you may be enetered this rate after 10.37
Also check which exchange rate type is maintained for customer, it might be there is diffrent exchange rate type in customer master in stead of M, and for that exchange rate type the rate is 11.35.
    Determination of exchange rate
Exchange rate type(in customer master-billing tab) + Valid from date = Exchange rate
    Kindly check thoroughly.

  • One Conversion Type and two Exchange Rate Types in one report

I have Conversion Type called TEST. In this Conversion Type there is Exchange Rate Type D selected (D-daily). I have also Fixed Target Currency selected. And the report works perfectly fine....BUT.......there is also Exchange Rate Type M defined in the system (and it used for the exchange rate used last day of the month).
The question is: how to put both Exchange Rate Types into one Conversion Type so both types are used in the reports?

    Hi,
You can go for a variable exchange rate type.
    Creating variable:
For this you have create a varible which can take diffrent exchange rate types.
Open query designer create a new dummy query in that search for infoprovider 0RTYPE.
It will have one dimension(name ->key) with 0RTYPE in it.
    create a variable for 0RTYPE.
    Save and close the query.
goto RSCUR -> give your translation type -> go to exchange rate tab -> choose Ex. Rate from var option -> give the variable you have created prviously for 0RTPYE.
Rest all same but just for completion...
Go to your query in which in u want to do cur conversion.
Double click on the key fig
Go to conversions tab-> select the conversion type u created in RSCUR.
When you run the query you can select the exchange rate type in the variable screen.

  • Split orders into different billing documents depending on exchange rate

We are going to have a new business and process sales orders with currencies.
As our materials have a long life cycle and for commercial reasons, users want to freeze the currency rate on the material.
Our first analysis leads us to use the pricing date on item, to get it from the u201Csale from dateu201D maintened on the material, so SD determines the exchange rate valid at this date in the currency table (TCURR). This exchange rate is kept on the order item in the u201Cexchange rateu201D field (VBKD-KURSK).
So we can have in the same order (and obviously for the same currency) items with diffrent exchange rates.
Now, we would like to split the billing document depending on the exchange rate (or the pricing date is it determines the rate). My question is : how to do this ? Is there a way thru u201CCopying control: Sales document to billing documentu201D ?

    Thank you Caveman
We have added a new routine to concatenate the exchange rate in the VBRK-ZUKRI field and it works !

  • Exchange rate difference posting deactivate in MIRO

    Hi
Exchange rate difference posting is active, I do not want
to post to this account, How to deactivate this.
Shoudl i change in the config under invoice verification - How to treat exchange rate diff ? will it create any other problem ?
    Pl Suggest.
    RRS.

    Dear RRS,
    Please note following things
To enter invoice in foreign currency following settings must be done in SAP  system.
    1. You must have defined  the currency you are using to enter the invoice
    2) You must configure an exchange rate of foreign currency & local currency in customization
    3) You can define diffrent rate for diffrent time  period
For a PO in foreign currency you can decide whether the rate from the PO to convert the foreign currency to the local currency at GR or IV.
If you fix exchage rate in PO then you can change it at GR or IV.
If the exchange rate is not fixed the system uses  the current exchange rate at GR.In IV the system also suggest the current exchange rate as exchange factor but you can change it.

  • Exchange rate fix

    Hi Gurus,
In PO i have fixed the exchange rate. While doing MIGO the exchange rate being picked is of system.....
    Where have i gone wrong??
    Regards,
    Rohan

    Dear Rohan,
Please note setting on currency exchange rates
To enter invoice in foreign currency following settings must be done in SAP  system.
    1. You must have defined  the currency you are using to enter the invoice
    2) You must configure an exchange rate of foreign currency & local currency in customization
    3) You can define diffrent rate for diffrent time  period
Now since you have  fixed the exchange rate in PO the rate will be always taken from the system. If you are not making it fix  in PO you have a previlage to change it at the time of GR or  MIRO.

  • Exchange Rate Field

    HI Experts,
How to enable me to edit the exchange rate field in Ap Credit Memo?  Coz i have diffrent rate in all transactions within a document....
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Danny

    Hi Danny,
    The field cannot be changed.
There should be no exchange rate difference posting as no money changed hands. You sent the Invoice, it was never paid, you clear it with a Credit Note.
For the stock in the movement, stock is always kept in Local Currency in B1, no exchange rate posting.
    Hope it helps,
    Jesper

  • GR/IRclearing in MR11 in case of exchange rate difference

    Hi Gurus,
My client has got one issue on GR/IR clearing thru MR11.
There is one PO with IR happend first( lets say on 01/01/2008) and then GR on 15/01/2008 . on the same day of GR , there is Goods return ( 15/01/2008) for complete good receitpt. Credit memo posted in next posting period ( ex. 02/02/2008) . As it is posted in different period there is exchange rate diffenence between Invoice and credit return. So when user is doing MR11 the system saying there is inconsistency for the difference amount. Thats the reason we could not able to clear that PO.
I need advice to clear the above PO in MR11.
    anyinputs on this highly appreciated.

    Hi Raman,
Did you ever figure out the issue above ? We have the same problem.
    Thanks,

  • How to restrict manual change to exchange rate.

    Hello
    Requirement:
Our requirement is we want to control the manual exchange rate entry(user type or otherwise) at different form e.g. AP Invoice screen,AR Invoice,GL JV.
What ever the rate defined pops up,should only be used for transactions and no scope should be given to user to change the rate.
    Process:
Our process is that We have a boundary system and we manually enter the rates daily and upload to Oracle Application by running a program interfaced with the boundary system. The rates fetched from the boundary system sits in daily rate form as spot rate.
The profile option "AR: Default Exchange Rate Type" has value "spot".
Similarly in payable option the rate given as "spot".
    Solution provided by our consultant:
We have Below clarification from the consultant Oracle team on controlling who can enter exchange rates manually vs who can not.
Pls see response for both sub ledger and general ledger transactions. An ability to limit manual exchange rate entry & view is, therefore, available in Oracle.
In Oracle, the transactions are created in subledgers and manual journals are created in General Ledger. The defaulting of exchange rate type is done separately for different subledgers. For General Ledger (creating manual journals) the control is separate.
1)For transactions originating in subledgers , for eg.Accounts Receivable, the name of the profile option is "AR: Default Exchange Rate Type" and looking at your requirement, this should be set at "Corporate" and not "User" or "Spot". Setting it at Corporate, will make the application look at the predefined corporate rates. Similarly for transactions (invoices/payments) in Accounts Payable, the defaulting can be configured through payable options.
2)For manual journals , the defaulting of exchange rate type is controlled separately. This can also be secured by definition access set which will prevent unauthorized changes to rate type.
    Questions:
1.Can we take their suggest given our process that changing the rate to corporate will restrict manual intervention of the user.
2.whether definition access set feature available in 11.5.10.2 and if so how can we configure.
3.What is the best way to restrict user from manual intervention.

    Hello.
For the mentioned forms, you can use Forms Personalization to force users to use a certain type(s) of exchange rate.

  • Message no. SG028 Ambiguous... exchange rate relation

    Hi Friends,
I have a free of charge order. While doing the Post Goods Issue step, I am getting the following error message
    Ambiguous EUR/USD exchange rate relations
    Message no. SG028
I have searched in the forum and made sure that in transaction OB08 Exchange Rate EUR/US and USD/EUR (Exchange Rate Type M) has maintained properly in the system.
I have also made sure that the entries are properly maintained in SPRO - General Settings - Currencies - Define Translation Ratios for Currency Translation.
But still the error is coming, I saw in one thread, some one has reported the same problem even after maintaining the exchange rates in OB08, but no solution was suggested as far as I check. could anyone please give some inputs why the same error coming even though the exchange rates are maintained and how to fix this issue as I stuck in Post Goods Issue step
    Thank you

    Hi Christian,
    Thanks for your time.
I've found the below entries in OBBS
    M   USD    EUR     01.01.1900        100 : 1
    M   EUR    USD     01.01.1900         1    : 100
Alternative currency is blank in both entries
In OB07 for exchange rate Type M all the fields (Ref. currency, Buy and Sell rate) and the check boxes are blank. it is still unclear for me being a logistics guy
While doing Post Goods Issue in other scenario I didnt have any error where currency GBP EUR invovled. In this case the OBBS entries EUR/GBP as below
    M   GBP    EUR     01.01.2000        1 : 1
    M   EUR    GBP     01.01.2000        1 : 1
Alaternative currency is blank in this case as well.
Does the valid from date or the ratio make any difference?
I could not clarify with my FI consultant as he is on vacation. Could you please let me know how to fix it.
    Thank you

  • Exchange rate determination at time of Good Reciept

My client has a manufacturing operations in Venezuela.   They regularly import production materials as well as supplies etc. to run the business.  The Venezuelan government defines the exchange rate on different types of purchases against the US Dollar.
When the goods are purchased the exchange rate is not known.  The Exchange rate has to be applied to the transaction at the time of goods receipt.  The exchange rate will be different for different types of purchases.  For example:  Raw materials are 2.6 Bs per dollar, Supplies are 4.3 Bs per dollar and all other purchases are at the rate of 5.3 Bs per dollar.  The exchange rate must be entered correctly at the time of entering the Goods Receipt.
The exchange rates are controlled by the government and stay static for a certain amount of time, but can be changed with little notice by the Organization in control.
Has anyone on a global SAP implementation or who has worked locally in Venezuela encountered this in the past?
If so, how have you handled it in the system?

    Hi,
If the price control is V, there is no issues.  When you make a goods inwards, the rate will be picked on that date and update the price difference to material value itself.  Ensure, that correct rate updated before making the GR.
    Best Regards,
    Madhu
