Digidesign midi timeout in mountain lion but can't access library files

Hi,
I have tried installing an old version of Pro Tools before realising it was not compatible with Mountain Lion. I have deleted all the drivers I could find but every time I try to use Garage Band, I get a Midi timeout error. M-box 2 and M-box Pro 2 are still showing in my Other folder in the Finder but I can't seem to be able to remove them and I suspect they're clashing with Garage Band. I have tried the various options offered in this community to access Main and User libraries but no matter what I try I can't get the Library folders up and therefore remove these plug-ins. Can anyone help, please?

I purchased Mountain Lion, received two emails, copied the password into the space provided in one of the emails but when I went to access the PDF I was taken back to my original email. Never received a disc as I did with Snow  Leopard so don't know what to do next.
    Hope someone can help

Purchased Mountain Lion, but can't install on Mavericks OS...Paid for but Can't install

You can't install an older OS over a newer one. So you'll get a message saying you can't install ML until you erase the drive.
I'm presuming you already have the full Mountain Lion installer on your drive.
Download DiskMaker X. Use it, the ML installer, and an 8 GB flash drive to create your own bootable ML installer. Boot to the flash drive when it's ready. From there, you'll get the same minimal work screen as when you boot into Recovery Mode. Use Disk Utility to erase the drive, then install Mountain Lion. Restore your personal data.

  • TS2972 home sharing is on but can't access library

home sharing is on but can't access itunes library

I just went through a lot of noggin scratching over this very same issue. Let me offer this advice: There are three places in iTunes 10.6.3 that could affect an Apple TV's ability to access your library. First, make sure that you turn on Home Sharing under the Advanced menu in iTunes. Then, go to Preferences and under the Sharing tab, check the box that says "Share my library on my local network." Finally, under the Parental tab in Preferences, there is a checkbox to disable Shared Libraries (although if this has been checked, it will say so under the Sharing tab). I hope this helps.

I have latest version of Mountain Lion on brand new MacBook Air but can't install Adobe Flash Player from Adobe website as it always times out with error message...?

OK...I have tried to download from:

    Browser: Safari, Firefox, Opera
I click Download now (I don't have any antivirus software running or a firewall)
The screen then changes to say:
Thankyou your download will commence immediately...
Then I get a nes screen with message:
    Request Timeout
The server timed out while waiting for the browser's request.

  • HT1338 I just installed OSX snow leapord and just want to be able to use icloud.  I up--graded my old macbook to 2 gigs and still can't get it to download icloud .  would go to osx mountain lion but can't do that either.  What do I have to do???

I want to use icloud to sync w/my new apple tv.  bought osx snow leopard and installed it plus upgraded to 2 gigs memory for my
old (2007) macbook.  still won't work. I need to get to at least osx 10.7.4 or to osx mountain lion.  Tried everything and can't get there.
I'm not a computer whiz...quite a novice.  so, if you can help; please speak in layman language....ha   Thanks

    iCloud requires 10.7.2 or later.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Manual Migration to Mountain Lion: but can't see the home library folder.

    Hi,
This is my first post in the Apple support community.
I'm moving from iMac running Snow Leopard to my MacBook Pro retina running Mountain Lion.
I only want to move what I really need, and leave all the old software and old files behind.
I put the MacBook Pro in target disc mode and started moving things through a FireWire 800 cable, connected to a Thunderbolt port through an Apple adapter.
Until I came to the items in the home library folder to move - and, of course - I couldn't see the home library folder on my retina MacBook Pro.
The key question is: can I make it visible for the time of the move?
Should I put the old iMac in target disc mode and handle the move from the retina Macbook Pro side and unhide the library folder using the Command + Shift + G keystroke?
Or are the days of manual migration over due to the hidden home library folder?
Applecare support noted I should use the migration assistant, and that I could chose the files I wanted to move.
Can you really do it in such a detail as during a manual migration?
    Thanks!

Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and provide ~/Library/ as the path.

  • Ever since updating to OSX Mountain Lion, I can't access my FCPX files

When I went into FCPX after updating to OSX Mountain Lion, I was told I needed to update my FCP files or they wouldn't play. I clicked update and left it running all night (I have a lot of large files). The next day, after rebooting, I tried to access my files, but when I click on the "reel" symbol to load a project, the Apple wheel starts to spin endlessly. It goes on for hours, and finally I have to force quit the program. Everything appears to be there, but I can't bring anything up or work on projects. The second the program starts, the wheel starts spinning.

Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.
You may want to consider as well:
These two suites are similar to Libre Office but not as current or as well-supported:
    NeoOffice
    Open Office
And, then there is Apple's iWork suite:
Pages - word processing and layout
    Keynote - presentation
    Numbers - spreadsheet
Each can open and save Office compatible files. They may be purchased separately via the Mac App Store for $19.99 each.
(Access to the Mac App Store requires Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or higher and an Apple ID.)

  • I updated to Mountain Lion and can't access most of my photo libraries , both Aperture and iPhoto

After updatiing yesterday I cant access my libraries, I get two different messages, one says :"Aperture can't access this Library' "to use this library , make sure its file permissions are set correctly".  The next one says "Unable to write to library iPhoto Library 2
check that you have permissions to write to the library directory.Any ideas what I have to do tho get access again.

I have been having the same issue, although the external drive is not an array. It's a multi-disk setup where the drives are manually duplicated using Super Duper, although it could be set up as an array. The suggestion to remove the external drive(s) from the system, spinning them down, then plugging them in worked ONCE. After that, the next time Aperture was relaunced, the problem resumed. And now spinning them down or taking them out and restarting them, even restarting the Mac, has no effect. I'm testing to see if moving the Libraries to another drive and reformatting the drives in this external enclosure before bringing the libraries back will have an remedy. It may be there needs to be a firmware update to the external enclosure in order to work properly with Mountain Lion.

  • With Mountain Lion Server, can users access the Messages Server from outside your network?

I would like to setup a new messaging service between my employees because we have issues with most online services. I'm thinking of getting a Mac Mini Server, so I can run Messages Server, but I have an employee outside my network. Can they login to the server remotely to use the Messages Server?
    Thanks

If you're talking about setting up and using the Jabber messaging service provided by OS X server then yes, it's really easy to set up and use in and out of the office. The only trick it is, and also most other services, is a correct DNS setup so you're able to connect and use the server from the "outside".
I use this myself (via Lion server rather than Moutain Lion server) from behind a dynamic IP addressed ADSL line and have no problems whatsoever.

  • Since downloading Mountain Lion, I can't access Microsoft Office. I have many documents I must gain access to. How?

How can I retrieve Microsoft Office and all my documents? How do I get past the GateKeeper?

Office 2004 will not run in ML. You must have '08 or '11. As for gatekeeper, go into System Preferences and select the Security & Privacy pane. Select General at the top and click the gold lock at the bottom-left corner of the screen. You will be prompted for your admin username and password. Finally, set the "Allow applications downloaded from:" field to either of the second two options (the middle one offers the most security of the two).

  • After upgrading to Mountain Lion, i can't connect to app store or safari

After Upgrading to Mountain Lion, I can't access the app store, itunes store, Safari - anything that requires the internet.  I tried resetting my modem and rebooting.
I also tried deleting items from the keychain that look like they are related to the above.  When I did that and rebooted, It works for a little while, and then gets back to where it won't login to anything on the internet and safari won't load anything.

This means that at some time you had the iWork ’09 trial installed. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip.
