Digital additions

I am a writer. I have downloaded digital additions at least ten times trying to get it to function. All I have been able to do so far is upload my book, and see the cover. When I try to see any of the pages and read my book for editing errors, I can see the numbers moving on the slide bar, but the pages will not appear. I can click on the table of contents and see the numerical slide bar move, but the pages will not appear. I have been the route of making sure my computer has permission, but I cannot get anything to work. It is almost like everything is frozen. I have tried all I know to do, can anyone help?

I had a similar problem with program "freezes" - I'm running Windows 7Pro - I simply uninstalled the program and downloaded again. Make sure you're "un-installing" completely before re-installing....good luck! Hope this helps.

Try completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your Adobe ID.

Adobe Digital Addition Error

Download and install Digital Additions to my Mac intel with Safari

When I try to install the latest addition of Adobe Additions to my Mac intel using O.S. Safari 10.4.11 I get an error message: "There is an error opening this document. There was a Macintosh systems error (-1409)"
Does anyone know of a way to install Adobe Digital Additions that is compatible with Safari10.4.11?

Certainly you would think that and I would too, but I've seen enough reports on here describing this scenario that were eventually fixed by reformating the card to give me pause. Don't claim to understand it, or guarantee that it will work but it's a very quick fix to try.

I can't turn the pages in my digital additions books, what can I do?

the page numbers change the actual page DOES NOT CHANGE.
I downloaded the books, no problem.
I can open any book, no problem.
When try to turn the pages to read the book (including the digital editions manual) the page won't change.
The sliding bar on the side moves, the page numbers change, but the actual pages won't change.

Ok, I will share my usable solution in case others run into this issue.
I downloaded the 1.72 version and it works great. 3 & 4 had the same darn issues.
Adobe Digital Editions Download is where I downloaded it form.

Can anyone tell me why after my computer updated itself it wiped out all books in digital additions

after istalling updates on my computer as normal I found that my digital aditions book shelf was empty. has anyone else found this and do they have a solution or even an explanation?

Oops. I figured it out. Laying in bed this morning it occurred to me to check on the "recipient" and "sender" fields in the Inspector. Sure enough - for some reason for State and Zip those were marked sender instead. Who knows why that happened - but that's all it was.

So you are stating that syncing an iOS device to an iTunes account (not iTunes library) does not associate that device to that iTunes account?
So how does one sync an iOS devide to an iTunes account only?
The article you linked applies to the folllowing:
When you turn on iTunes Match or Automatic Downloads, or when you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.
And with iOS devices only. This has nothing to do with non-iOS iPods.
I don't have iTunes Match enabled, the same for Automatic Downloads, and I haven't downloaded past purchases with my iPhone or iPad, so I don't believe the link applies. I suspect this does apply to a significant number of iOS device users, but not all.

Adobe Digital Editions Quit Unexpectedly

Hi there,
I can't open my book from Abode Digital Editions. When I go to Adobe Digital Additions Library and click on the book I purchased, a box pops up saying, "Adobe Digital Editions quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically." Then when I click on the "Reopen" button, I am automatically taken back to the Adobe Digital Editions Library where the cycle repeats itself. I have seen multiple reports of this same issue from other users in this form. I have called Adobe for support and can't seem to find an answer so far. I would LOVE to have this sorted out so I can use my Kobo and read the books I have purchased. Anyone out there in internet land who can help me, I would appreciate this sooooooo much.

Same problem here. I downloaded and installed ADE 4.0.3 just to check out a library e-book using DRM on my Mac OS X Yosemite. ADE crashed every time I attempted to open that book with a memory address exception. I had no problems opening the default book that comes with the reader though. Looked at iTunes reviews of ADE and Mac users have been complaining about this serious bug since February! What a major fail by Adobe.
I took the suggestion in this thread of downgrading to ADE 3.0. I still had the library's e-book in my library but was now getting a E_ACT_NOT_READY error each time I tried to open it. After some googling, I figured out I needed to reset my authorization token by doing Command-Shift-D. But after regenerating my authorization token, I got a E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER error. Now I think I need to get the library to reset the authorization token for the book since my token has changed. I dropped them a note informing them Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.3 doesn't work on Yosemite and asked them to reset the authorization. I've removed the book from my ADE library and will hopefully be able to download and start reading it next week.

How to un-authorize adobe digital edition from other devices?

I have used a few devices that had bluefire or adobe digital installed on it. when i made an attempt to install an e-book on a new device i was informedd that i could not download new content because i have used digital additions on too many devices.
Could someone point me in the right direction in obtaining or un-authorizing those devices that I no longer have in hand.

When you deactivate a device, the used activation is not added back to the pool.
How do I increase the number of activations if I run out?

Digital editions 3 authorizing computer weth adobe ID

I have adobe digital additions 3. I want to authorize my computer with an adobe ID But every time I try to do this I get this error. Activation Server error. code E-Auth -Not Ready. I have un-insalled and re-installed several times but get the same result. How do I get this authorization?

Error Opening Library Book in Digital Editions

I downloaded a library book and when i try to open it in digital additions i get the following message:
Error getting server contect, server communication problem, E_ADEPT_LIC_TOKEN_NULL_DATA
What does this mean and how do i fix it so i can read my book?

Mine worked out fine. I dowloaded from the Sony e-book store and paid for them (of course). Transferred them to my library onb the Reader and then cut and paste thenm from the library to the Reader. Sounds easy? Took me a while.
In the meantime I have been trying out downloading from another site some free books but Adobe craps out!!I will have to leave that for another day - hope yours works out.

I want to move ebooks from one computer to another. Both have Digital Editions installed. Older one 2.0 ver has books installed. Newer one has ver 3.0 no books installed. Both are authorized with the same user id. Do I have to upload from older machine to cloud first? How do I do that? Do I have to manually transfer files? How do I do that? Can I get pointed to online directions someplace?

Figured it out. Copy files to new computer and add to library from digital additions. duh. Why was it some much easier to figure out answer once I posted the question?

Last page rasterizing when exporting to EPUB from Indesign

Hello all,
I currently have a problem with the last page of my EPUB book rasterizing. This shows up in both Adobe digital Additions and iBooks. I cannot fathom why it is doing it, is there anyone who has come across this before?
fyi. It doesnt seem to matter what content is on the last page, the whole page turns into a flattened image (even text). I originally created the EPUB on Snow leapoard on OSX and recently upgraded to mountain Lion and I'm on Indesign CS6.
Any light on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of InDesign rasterizing the last page during EPUB export. I'd try the usual troubleshooting techniques.
Start by restoring your InDesign preferences. Here's how:

Can't use "like" or "reply" after upgrading to IOS 8 on 3rd gen iPad

I upgraded my 3rd Gen iPad Wifi to IOS 8, and later to 8.02 and now to 8.1. I did a complete Restore, using iTunes, and then after that, restored from my back-up on my computer. Just about everything is working great (NYTimes digital addition without additional fees for iPad, not so great but useable), but I can no longer get either "like" or "reply" to work.
Where have I gone wrong?

Try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds until your iPad starts on it's own.

Can't get books into Library

Hi! Thank you Advance for your help with this.
Just downloaded from internet using Mozilla Firefox a couple books onto my MAC, told it to go to Adobe Digital additions. I can go to add the books using ADE and find them but they are greyed out and do not give me the option to ADD neither from Thumbnail or from Annotations. Tried to drag them into the Library also, and it will not let me do that either.
I have been reading through this forum, tried some of the suggestions, but they did not work for me. I tried the one about having ABE in Libray Mode when downloading, still does not work.
I can open the books in ADE by clicking on it in Downloads, but just not in the library. Library is just empty.

I have as one of my issues the same one as yours. Can see, but can not add a book to the library either by the add a book or double clicking on a acsm file from overdrive book checkout, although mine is not greyed out, it just won't load into the library. Don't know if this relates to you or not, but It might.
I posted the below in an earlier post here and got no response, so I then emailed my library for assistance who forwarded to overdrive. I am posting here the response from overdrive. FYI: I can get it to work by creating the new account, but I don't want to have to log out and log in another account just to read a book. I feel that Adobe or overdrive or whoever is responsible for account issues should be able to resolve the account issue on my main account login. Adobe won't talk to you without putting up some money first though and who knows if it will get resolved.

Detailed Description: Mac OSX 10.6.7 Current version of ADE I must
have a local issue on my iMac, because I don't have this problem on
my laptop with the same settings and account information. I check
out an epub book from my library via Over Drive, get the acsm
file. Double click on it. ADE opens, but no book ever appears in
the library screen. Every time I attempt it I get another incident
of a task in the task folder. All previous books, have been
returned. I did have one task that kept popping up on a previous
book that I had already downloaded successfully, telling me that it
still needed to complete. And everytime that I tried to follow the
process, it failed. I finally found the task folder and deleted
that task and it never returned. I was able to download one further
book after that and then no more. I don't get an error, just no
response to the download request other than opening ADE. I followed
the lame instructions on Over Drive to clear my browser cache, also
to no avail. Also copying the epub from my laptop to the iMac and
double clicking on it doesn't resolve the probelm either. Today I
tried the delete and reinstall of ADE routine to no avail. Not sure
what other information I can provide. Can anyone assist me on this?

From the information provided, it appears that Adobe Digital Editions opens
when you click the .ACSM file but it only display the main window and does not
begin downloading your title.
In previous cases where this problem has occurred on Mac computers, there was
an issue with the 'user account' on the Mac OS itself. If you have another
'user account' on your Mac, we would like to have you attempt to download your
titles under that account.
If you do not have another 'user account', please create another one by going
to 'Apple | System Preferences | User Accounts'. You may also follow the steps
at the Apple support link below for creating another user account. Please be
sure that you create an account with 'Administrator' privileges.

Once you have created another account, please use this account to download
Adobe eBook titles from your library. Please note, you will need to authorize
Adobe Digital Editions with an Adobe ID under the new Mac user account. You
