Digital camera DX card

Where can I get DX cards for my Fujifilm S5000 camera?   No body  seems to have them in the sore.

From the manual;
xD-Picture Card
These are separately available xD-Picture Card.
Use the following xD-Picture Card :
DPC-16 (16 MB)/DPC-32 (32 MB)/DPC-64 (64 MB)/DPC-128 (128 MB)/
DPC-256 (256 MB)/DPC-512 (512 MB)
Last I checked, BBY (if you can find any) only sold a 2Gb card...might be a compatability issue?

  • Digital camera SD card problem

I have a fujifilm digital camera and I got it two years ago, the usb cord went missing long ago because I always plugged my camera's blue SD card into my HP computer instead. Now that I've had a macbook for a year, to get pics on it I have to put the SD in my HP, transfer them onto a thumbdrive and plug that into my mac...now my HP computer decided to keel over and die so..l and I wanted to know if there's SD card adapters for macbooks??? I've wanted one for a while but now I really need it because there's no way for me to transfer my pics onto my computer without a memory card slot!! And it's obvious my mac doesn't have one..sooo any insight??

The common USB card reader for SD cards should be adequate.
Some of these card readers may require you to put the Card into
the Reader, then plug the reader into the computer's USB port.
Others may do OK if the reader is first attached to the computer
and then the card is put into it. (I have both kinds; and prefer to
put the card into the reader, then plug the combination into Mac.)
Also, replacement cords for the camera to connect to computer
should be available. Depending on the type of port in camera body,
the replacement cord may be a common one with small plug on
one end and standard USB2.0/1.1 plug on the other end. ($6.?)
My Panasonic digital camera uses an SD card for image captures
and I've used a card reader specific to SD cards successfully w/ it.
The card reader I have looks like an adapter, with USB2 plug on
one end and a slot for the two most common SD cards in the other.
(But most often, I use a standard USB camera cord and power-on
the camera to transfer images; works fine if battery life isn't an issue.)
Some cameras have a small round USB data port in them, while others
have the USB Mini small port which takes a semi-rectangular shape plug.
Both my Panasonic & Nikon D70 use *Mini 5-pin* kind of USB w/ small end.
Your camera may require a different end cable; but probably not uncommon.
The big end is a standard A end USB cable, to go into the computer.
Of the Card Readers I found in a simple online search, some of them offer
support for three kinds of similar cards: USB2.0 SD/SDHC/MMC. The basic
ones do not have slots for every card made; they are SD specific. While I
also have a card reader that can accept 11 different cards, it doesn't always
see the camera's cards correctly. I prefer to use a USB cable to the camera.
Between USB camera cords (with images) and USB card readers, these
should be an easy find online via search; you could match the kind of
shape the ports require for cable ends to match, & also get a card reader.
    Good luck in this matter!

  • Automounting a digital camera's card?

I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ4 digital camera that attaches via usb to my
computer. It uses a sandisk ultraII memory card. I use fluxbox and pcmanfm as my file system. I have hal and dbus setup and working. Pcmanfm sees that card there as /dev/sde but it doesn't get auto mounted, I'm guessing 'cause it's not in fstab. What I want it for it to either auto mount or allow me to mount it when I click on its icon in pcmanfm? Right now when I click on its icon in pcmanfm I get an error saying that the file system cannot be mounted. Can anybody help me out here, I will make a similar post on the arch forums as well. Thanks for any help given.

I have a panasonic tz1 with SD memory card.
I utilize fstab to get the usb connect of the SD card and it opens with ...pana 100.
Click on pana 100 to display the recorded
    camera shots including the .mov.
Please see my posts in ARCH DISCUSSION regarding the conversion of .mov to .avi.
You have to enter the USB device in fstab and open it...I utilize kde ..kdiskfree.. to enable convenient access.
I have generated hundreds of converted stills and motion shots with my TZ1 via USB and mencoder.
EDIT:  The file system for the card must be ...vfat.....

  • Digital Camera Memory Card Reader

  • IPhoto 6 - recurring pop-up window for digital camera

Starting a few months ago, I began getting this pop-up window every time I launch iPhoto:
No matter what I click or answer, this window pops up again every time I launch iPhoto.
Why is this happening and how do I get it to stop asking me?  I work on an old PowerPC (OS 10.4.11, iPhoto 6.0.6 (322)).  The pop-up window comes up irrespective of whether or not a digital camera or card reader is attached.

Rj in WI is correct. I just started using iTunes about a month ago after my wife got an IPod. It took me about an hour of frustration and reading the instruction before I saw in the bottom right of the window "my computer". You click on that and then you can change it to the Airport network. Unfortunately It appears you can only send to only one place. I have two Aiport Expresses and I can only send it to one of the Express devices, or the computer, but not to two or all three places at one time.

  • Digital Camera Manually Transfer Files on Memory Card

I have a Canon Powershot Pro1 digital camera that I am able to connect to my MBP. My question is whether or not there is a way to manually move files onto the memory card in the camera. I have my camera connected via a USB2.0 cord and a 1GB CF Card inside the camera. I know there is a way to automatically transfer all photos and I know all about ImageCapture, iPhoto and Aperture. I was wondering if there was a way to make OSX recognize the camera as a external drive and manually move files back and forth because on my PC I have edited some photos and saved them as .PSD (Photoshop Files) which surely would not be transferred or recognized. For arguments sake assume I have other files other than JPG or other image files and I need to access them through a USB cord connected to the camera with a CF card inside. Thanks in advance.

Your camera should appear as a USB disk drive on your desktop as soon as you plug it in. If not, buy a USB card reader and plug the memory card into it and the card reader into your Mac's USB port. You can then drag files onto the card.
If all you want to do is transfer files between a Windows computer and your Mac, there are lots of ways to do it. An easier way is to simply buy a USB jump drive, or if both computers are near to each other, get a network hub, plug them both in via a cat5 ethernet cable and set up file sharing.

  • Can i use this memory card in a digital camera?

I have this memory card that I bought a year or two ago for a cell phone (LG Chocolate).
I never used it but kept the memory card.
I'm thinking about getting a Samsung SL202 digital camera.
Will this memory card work in the camera?
I tried uploading a picture from my iphone, but it doesn't work.
All it says is SanDisk MicroSD to Adapter and has two other small parts with it.

Typically, cell phones have MicroSD/MicroSDHC slots.
Most cameras have full-size SD/SDHC slots.  I'm assuming (not time to look it up) that the SL202 fits in this category.
If you place the MicroSD memory card into the adapter, it should work in the camera.
Beware that MicroSD cards tend to be slower than full-size SD cards, are 25-50% more expensive, and also some devices don't like MicroSD cards in adapters for some reason - while they work, they work SLOWLY.  (Some MicroSDs and my Dell's built-in reader just don't get along...)
Not sure what the iPhone has to do with anything, to my knowledge it does not support memory expansion of any sort.
Unless you REALLY need to be able to send pictures taken with the camera from your cell phone, I would reccommend just purchasing a full size SDHC card.  With many phones, the software is limited enough that doing such a thing isn't even possible despite the memory cards being compatible - a fullsize JPEG would choke the MMS system.

  • Why is the memory capacity of a digital camera's memory card relevant?

    Hi All,
I'm new to all this . I have a question "Why is the memory capcity of a digital camera's memory card relevant?"
    Thanks
    Maggie

Why is the memory capcity of a digital camera's memory card relevant?
    It is not to Photoshop.
But to the photographer it is extremely relevant.  It determines how many images (influenced by "quality") your camera can hold before running out of room to store pictures. A larger memory capacity for your camera will allow you to take and store more and/or higher quality images.
("Quality" in this case is determined by  image size- the number of pixels making up the image in your camera and image "compression" -  how much JPG formatting will effect your image.)
    (attempted analogy coming... watch out!)
Think of the camera memory card as a linen closet to store down pillows. A small closet you can store 10 pillows on a shelf. Double the size of the closet and you can store 20 down pillows.
You also have the choice to stuff the down pillows in small sacks, allowing you to store even more pillows in the closet. The problem is after cramming the down pillows into the small container, they come out battered and not as nice as they were before storage.
    Linen Closet = Memory Card
    Down Pillows = images
Small sacks to stuff pillows into = JPG compression.
(and to add this this questionable analogy... the better down pillows have more feathers, and take up more room in the linen closet)
    Feathers = pixels

  • Digital camera video = memory card

What is the best kind of memory card for videos ( making a video on a digital camera) & how many GBs should i consider on getting?

    Hi TechGirl,
There is no specific type of memory card that works best for video, but I can suggest getting a memory card that has a higher storage capacity like a 4-8GB card with a high write speed. I hope this helps!

  • Getting digital cam images into the iPad when shooting with a non-SD card.

Just thought I'd let people know, I was able to get my really inexpensive Targus USB 2.0 media adapter to connect to the USB camera adapter on my iPad. This allows me to import photos from my Olympus Evolt digital camera that uses an XD or Compact Flash card. Also worked with our two other small digital point and shoot cameras that use non-SD cards. It also lets me use my Micro SD card from my Samsung Moment cell phone.

    Hello strmchsr,
Thank you for sharing your issue with the community. We certainly want to resolve this as quickly as possible. I understand you must be frustrated. I would like to ask you a couple of questions to better understand your concerns.
What specific error message are you receiving on the iPad?
Have you been able to connect the Mifi 2200 to another device such as a laptop or computer?
If so what were the results? If not I have included some troubleshooting steps below.
I recommend trying to activate the Mifi 2200 on a windows based pc using the usb cable that came with the device. http://vzam.net/
The recommendation to remove the battery while the device is powered on is a great option, as ttb_62 suggested.
As a final option you can perform a hard reset provided that you have the original sticker from the Mifi 2200, which will include default password and the MEID number. I have included a link below to assist you.
    Hard Reset:

Once you have tried these steps please retest your data service for functionality. If the issues persist please advise us and we will provide additional assistance.

  • Exporting to digital camera card?

I would like to export images that I have on iPhoto 4 back to my digital camera card so I can take them into the local store and print them off direct from the card. Is there any way of doing this? If so do I need any other piece of software-a plug-in maybe? Thanks for any help.

  • Videos won't download properly from my digital camera

I recently bought a 7.2 megapixel digital camera and on any of the video settings that I record a video, the videos don't import properly into iPhoto. The thumbnail in iPhoto is just a black square and it shows the length of the video in seconds. when I click on it to play in quicktime, all i see is a white screen. In the Finder, the thumbnail is a white box. In QuickTime, the sound works fine, just no images. Any ideas???

    Hi Mich 64elle,
check your camera specs and see what the file type is of the video clips.
How long are your video clips?
Have you tried using Image Capture and see if the clips download correctly?
Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
    Under the General button choose
Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.
iPhoto: How to Change the "Open Automatically" Preference
I just got a new Canon S2 IS. It can take a video for as long as you have a card that can hold it. I don't use iPhoto to download from from camera. I use Image Capture and have no problems. The file type of the videos is AVI

  • I cannot download photos from my digital camera to Iphoto (version '09). I have been able to successfully do this up to 4 days ago but not yesterday. My camera/device is recognized in the Source List but photos won't download for me to import to library.

I cannot download photos from my digital camera (via a cable) to Iphoto (version '09). I have been able to do this successfully up til 4 days ago but not yesterday (Dec. 25th). My camera/device is recognized in the Source List, but when it tries to download the photos, all I get are the words "Loading Photos" in the area where the thumbnail pictures usually display. The little "gear" symbol next to the words but it just goes round and round. Nothing ever downloads, and instead of showing me how many pictures there are to import it just says "No photos". So therefore I cannot import the photos to my library since they won't even download.
I was getting an error message a few days ago that my Iphoto library was getting full, so I emptied my trash in both Iphoto and on my computer. I had this same problem back in October and emptying the trash and getting rid of some photos did help (can I really be using that much storage space for the pictures?). But it didn't help this time.
Any suggestions as to what to do to solve the problem? I would try taking the SD card out and inserting that into the slot on the computer to see if I could load pictures that way; but the last time I did that, they wouldn't load. Not sure if I lost pics from the disc or not.
    Thank you,
    Novice50

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

  • Can no longer download videos from my digital camera to iPhoto.

OK people, please help me! I've been a Mac user for a couple of years now but still have no idea how to use it properly!! (having been a PC user all my life). Today I changed the quality on my digital camera (Panasonic Lumix TZ7) to be the lowest quality so I could fit more on my SD card, not feeling the need to read the instructions first. When I came to download to iPhoto, it wouldn't. So resorting to reading my camera instruction book, I needed to download some software that came with the camera which I did. But when I still couldn't download the videos using this software, I read the instruction book more thoroughly and discovered that the software I needed (PhotofunStudio) wasn't compatible with a Mac (PC only) and the software I had downloaded (Arcsoft Panorama maker and Arcsoft MediaImpression) obviously wasn't what I needed. When neither of these would download the video, I deleted the software from my iMac but when I opened iPhoto, it gave me some error messages about files not able to be read (or something similar, I can't quite remember) and a list of file names to which I clicked OK not even thinking about it. What that did was delete all videos from iPhoto I had downloaded from this camera! And now I can't download any videos from my camera to iPhoto!!! The only thing I can think is that it has changed the default download/view to be Arcsoft (even though I've deleted all the files - I think!!) So please, how do I get iPhoto to again download my videos? Sorry for the long winded post but because I am a hopeless Mac user, thought I would give as much info as possible!
I'm computer literate with PC but definitely not Mac - it scares me as I don't know what I am doing plus it is my OWN machine so don't want to stuff it up (which is exactly what I seem to have done!). I had no trouble previously downloading videos on the higher quality setting to iPhoto. Please can someone help?!

OK thanks I will try that. I just don't understand why I still can't download new videos as I've deleted the software I installed and I've changed my camera settings back to what they were before when I could download into iPhoto. I perhaps should have mentioned it's iPhoto '08 version 7.1.5. Is there any way of putting iPhoto back as the "default download and view" programme?
It could be as simple as longer (larger) videos - iPhoto does not always handle larger video files well
Is there any way of putting iPhoto back as the "default download and view" programme?
iPhoto is not a download and view program - it is a photo management database program that imports photos - Image Capture is a download program - Preview is a view program
The default program to download your photos is set in the preference panel of either iPhoto or image capture

  • Digital camera no longer syncs to iMac 10.6.8

    Hello,
I have been using a Fuji Finepix E550 digital camera for years and for some reason tonight my iMac (running Snow Leopard) does not recognize it.  I've never experienced this before.  I've plugged the USB cable into the three different ports, as well as restarting several times.  I've plugged in my iPod into the same USB port and it works fine. The camera display states that it is being recognized but the computer doesn't.
    What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance for any help.

OK, try doing both a iMac SMC and PRAM reset, try doing each 2x. If neither work then please restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. If neither work then try another cable and/or camera. If you still don't have luck then I'd recommend using a card reader that plugs into one of the USB ports.
