Digital Copy of movies download issues

I am finally trying to get the digital copies of the Blue rays I recently purchased onto my computer and ipod. Out of the six movies I've tried all but one have downloaded and show up in itunes but only show a grey screen with no audio when played. Any way to make this problem go away so I can enjoy my movies on the road?

You are not alone. I did exactly the same thing today. Namely, I decided to get the all the digital copies from the 6 BluRay disks I bought last month onto my Mac Mini. My Mini is 3 months old & working perfectly. I updated to OSX 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2 last week. (And that may be the problem). Ran permissions fix, etc. I've downloaded many digital copies before without issue. Today I stopped at #2 because the movies had no video or sound even though the download produced viable m4v video files of 1.5 & 1.9 GB each. When I try to run the files on QuickTime7 I'm told that I'm not authorized on iTunes. But earlier digital downloads play fine on both. Of course, I had signed on to iTunes properly but I went ahead and de-& re- authorized myself. To no avail. I checked these discussions & discovered several complaints about this since the upgrade to 9.2. One guy even said he got a "kinda-sorta" admission from an Apple CSR that there MAY be a problem. OK..that happens. BUT why no alert on iTunes so we hold off for a few days? Did I just lose money using the ONE decrypt key I'm allowed per movie? I paid extra money for these "deluxe" Blu Ray editions just so I could I have a copy on my iPod & AppleTV. Will Apple or the studios unlock these movies I paid for? iTunes help was impossible to navigate so I complained to the 2 movie studios (Warner Bros & LionsGate) about this ripoff! Their customer support is easier to reach than Apple's. Can you believe that! I've been with Apple for 8 years but I feel really screwed by them today!
Could someone please send me the link to Apple customer service? I know Apple doesn't read these discussions. I want to cut & paste this to them.

  • ITunes not playing downloaded digital copy of movie - please help

I bought "The Proposal" on Blu-Ray and used the bonus digital copy disc to download the movie to my iTunes page. The download went fine, and the poster art is showing fine. But when I actually play the movie all I'm getting is a black screen. I can see the screen stills for the chapter stops, and everything else seems to be working fine, and yet I get no image nor sound. Does anyone know why this happening? I have the most current version of iTunes.
And on a similar topic, I synched the movie to my iPod Touch 8G (3rd generation) and it says "this movie could not be played" when I try to play it there. I assume this problem is related to the issue in iTunes? My iPod software (I believe) is 2.2.1.
Can someone please help. Many thanks.

In iTunes, click on "Store" at the top of your screen, and select deauthorize computer, and then select authorize computer. This will fix the problem.

  • TS1277 I purchased Brave through Walmart with a digital copy.  I downloaded the copy but cannot transfer it to mobile devices.  It says the computer is not authorized to do it?

I purchased Brave through Walmart with a digital copy.  I downloaded the copy but cannot transfer it to mobile devices.  It says the computer is not authorized to do it?

Did you check Walmart's terms for video/movie downloads? Do they allow transfers/copying of a movie to another device?

  • Unable to download Digital Copy of movies to my Itunes

I am so frustrated I could throw my laptop against the wall. I have been trying to download movies to my Itunes that I rightfully paid for through the Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack. After putting in the DVD for the digital copy in the dvd drive, I fire up Itunes. The next thing I do is select the movie in the iTunes DVD slot and I put the correct passcode into the Itunes authorization key area. The entire movie downloads and after downloading, there is a pause while processing. I get the error that states I do not have authorization to the file. Check the disc for dust and reinsert and try again. In the itunes download area, I have error zero KB of 1.66gb - stopped (err = -5000)

Im not sure how much data is taken from the disc, Im guessing the "download" is essentially a disc upload? or is it taken strictly from the iTunes store? Sorry Im not an expert on the digital copy process yet.
However, if it is the disc, its maybe possible you just have a defective disc which contains your digital copy.
If you just recently bought it, you can go back to where you bought it from and exchange it for a new copy. If that doesnt work then maybe you'll have to try to contact iTunes Support. http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html

  • HT201272 I typed in a digital copy code to get Rise of the Guardians on here because I bought the blu-ray, but the digital copy won't download no matter what I do. Why won't it download? Right now I am very angry for not getting the digital copy.

I purchased Rise of the Guardians on blu-ray, I typd in the digital copy code that came in the case, the ituns extras downloaded, but no matter what I do, the digital copy of the actual movie won't download. Why won't it download? I've tried everything I could think of, but nothing works, it just simply does not want to download.

Ok, a new digital copy of Rise of the Guardians started downloading automatically at no extra cost, I admit that I was thrilled, but now my happiness is gone because the new digital copy of Rise of the Guardians simply won't play. Nothing works with it except for the iTunes extras again. I'm getting really tired of this. Why won't it play and why give a digital copy if it refuses to work? Please someone help me out here!

  • Unable to sync the Digital Copy of movies I purchased to my IPhone

I have purchased several movies in the past few days that have "Digital Copy" with them. I put the movie (DVD) in my computer, told it "ITunes", and went through the steps requested by ITunes. They actually show up in my ITunes account. My issue is, when I tell my computer to "Sync" my IPhone, it says that it has completed the sync, and all of my music is on the IPhone, but the Digital Copy of the movies are not there. Is there something that I am missing?

    Duh,,,, thank you

  • Itouch 4th gen won't play digital copy of movie

I downloaded my first digital copy of a movie, following the instructions and using the serial number provided. It shows in my library, and I can watch on itunes. I then transferred it to my itouch, and it appears on my playlist, but when I try to play it, it says it's an "unsupported format".
I've been trying to find a solution, and 'help' advised to "create a ipod or iphone version" in itunes (through 'Advanced'), but this option is greyed out.
I'd appreciate any help and advice that anyone can provide to sort this out.
    Thanks!

    Hello cj pup,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Does the movie still play alright in iTunes? What format is it in? Have you double checked to make sure it wasn't in HD instead of SD?
If the video is in High Definition, check to see if it came with a Standard Definition copy as well and if it did, go ahead and sync that one to your iPod. Otherwise, I'm afraid there isn't much else you can do.

  • Is 'digital' copying immune from quality issues?

    Hello!
This is something I've been thinking about ever since I started 'cloning' and making backups to my external HD. Is cloning (and backup) an EXACT copy - in terms of quality - as the original? You know - when you record from an audio cassette the copy is never going to be 100% the quality of the original right? And every subsequent copy from that copy will deteriorate further and so on. It's the same thing with taking photocopies - the copy never looks as good as the original. And if you were to photocopy the copy, it just gets worse, right? Now that's the problem with 'analog' reproduction, but can the same thing happen with digital reproduction? Or is it totally immune?
Would love to hear some informed answers on this. Thanks.
    Cheers, Steve.

Restoring a starup disk from a clone should work OK provided the disk it was cloned from didn't contain any errors or incompatibilities: it's probablyl safer fo do a clean install of everything - if you can - but of course it's more time-consuming. However the issue here isn't the accuracy of the digital coping process, but what state the clone itself is in.
As to JPEGs and MP3s: when the file is created from the uncompressed original the process throws away some of the information. If you make a direct digital copy of the compressed file the copy will be exactly the same as the file it was made from. However if you open a compressed file and then re-save it you run the risk of throwing away even more information -though on the whole it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference as long as you stick to the same process - i.e. don't open an MP3 file and then resave it as AAC, for example. I don't know how serious the results would be, but it's worth avoiding where possible.

  • QT Pro 7 Copy Paste .mov audio issue

I am copying a .mov movie file and pasting it to the end of another .mov file.  The video pastes into one continuous video track. The audio is pasting into a second stereo track starting at the end of the first stereo track.  So, one video track and two stereo audio tracks.
The entire .mov file plays fine in iTunes.  When I stream it or sync it to my Apple TV (1st gen), or stream it to my Apple TV 2,  the audio quits at the 2nd stereo track.
Amy ideas on how to merge (so to speak) 2 .mov files of exactly the same type  into a single video track and a single stereo audio track?
    Thanks...

                        Data Rate: 2,311.58 kbit/s
Interesting that the two QT versions report different video coding and different total data rates.  Also QT Pro7 reports Stereo (L R) and QTPlayer10 reports 2 "Channels".  They are different things.
With regard to the video coding, AVC Coding is the same as H.264. Either may also be referred to as MPEG-4/AVC or MPEG-4, Chapter 10 content.
Data rate information appears to be calculated differently by each application probably due to the way the data is quantified. (I.e., same difference as noted between the way the QT 7 Inspector reports the file size differently than the Finder Info window.)
While I tend to agree that "stereo" implies two independent channels of "different" data, it would seem that QT X does not choose to emphasize such a distinction.

  • I purchased a movie with a digital copy. I downloaded it to iTunes. It is not in library. If I do a search it locates it in the c: drive. How do I get it to appear in library.

Downloaded film through iTunes not in library but is on computer.

I checked that and could still not find it. I then Checked purchased items and could se it there. I plug my iPhone in to see if I could sync it to it, I could still not see it to select it. I then ticked the box in movies sync purchased items. It started syncing my latest movies, I could see it was syncing the film. I looked in videos and it was there. I then looked at my library and it was there. Very strange but got it sorted.

  • Movie Downloading Issues

I am currently trying to download a movie. I started it 12 hours ago and so far it's only at 509 KB out of 2.06 GB. It's telling me it has 55,000+ hours left. What can I do to make it download faster? I'm not even sure it's downloading it properly. I bought a movie just two days ago that downloaded in less than 5 minutes and that's what usually happens. Any advice helps!

I am having the same issue. I have a movie which I purchased and am trying to download and it keeps saying ready to play in---and that goes from 3 hr -6 hrs. What is going on? I thought I could watch immediately! The same thing happens with Netflix. I'm beginning to think this is a internet speed issue. Are we all trying to download at 8pm?

  • HD Movie Download Issues

Well, over the weekend I was trying to purchase an HD movie via iTunes. For some reason the option to download the HD version is grayed out and I can only get the SD version. I wanted to stream it to my AppleTV 2. It has a message there about not having Windows 7 with an HDCP compliant video card, but the point is that I want to watch it downstairs on the AppleTV. I don't care about playing it on my computer.
I did see that I can download the HD version on my iPad or iPhone, but who cares about watching HD on a screen that doesn't even support HD? It told me that I could download the HD version to the phone and then the SD version would be available for download on my PC.
Does that seem stupid to anyone else? Is there something I'm doing wrong? I don't want to buy it on my AppleTV, because then I can't get a copy to my computer.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Have you tried transferring the movie to iTunes on your computer and playing it there, to see if it's a problem with the movie file or with your iPad.

  • Movies download issues after changing iTunes store

After moving countries, I changed my iTunes store and payment info from US to Netherlands, that was fine. But when I tried to download the movies I purchased in the US iTunes store, I got the message that "this movie is not available in the Dutch store". Of course not, I purchased it while having the US iTunes store! I found all the movies also in the Dutch store, but Apple wants me to pay for them again, despite the fact I paid for them before under the US iTunes store - this is not making any sense at all, since I did not change my ID, just the country and the payment info - and at no point in the process was there a warning that you would loose all purchases made under the previous store. What am I missing here? Any ideas how to get back the movies I paid for? These are the movies I had on my iPad, by the way. Thanks!

If they are still stored on your iPad then you should be able to copy them over to your computer's iTunes library by connecting and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
I've never changed countries so I don't know what does/doesn't show (though it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't), but it is mentioned on this page : Change the country of your iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account. But ideally you'd be keeping and maintaining a backup copy of all of your downloads even if you don't change countries, a rights-holder could remove their item (film, music album, app etc) from the store at any time (and audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads) - you are only guaranteed one download of any item.

  • Movie download issues with iTunes for iPad

I purchased a 3.5 GB movie and have 8 GB of free space.  The download starts throug iTunes, makes it about half way through the download and then starts over.  It's done this around 5 times now.  My OS is up to date.  Anyone experienced this problem and have any suggestions?  It even boots me out of the movie if I'm watching it while downloading before it starts over.

You may recall that from one of my posts.
Yes -and I do remember it pretty well actually. I was referring to you in my post above - without naming you.
You said in your post that he emailed you from his iPhone and I asked how you knew it was from the phone and you responded that the email contained the "Sent from My iPhone" in the signature.
How's that for remembering! Meanwhile, I can't remember what I had for dinner last night?
And back to the topic, I do have issues myself with Mac to iPad and iPad to Mac compatibility. I would hope that Apple is working on this. Really I don't understand why it hasn't been resolved by now but I continue to wait for the fix as well.
