DIgital Ediion on MacBook (with Intel)

I cannot instal digital edition on my MacBook. When I click on YES to download and install, I keep on getting this message: "Couldn't wriite the application to the hard disk. Please verify the hard disk is available and try again."
I've been trying for 3 days now, I don't know what else to do.

One issue we have found with Macs is that if you have non-ASCII characters in your hard disk name or username, this can cause problems. Is this possibly the case here?

  • Systeme 9 and Classic environnement on Macbook with Intel

Is somebody can tell me if I can run something from the classic environnement with my new Macbook with Intel proc. I read that it's impossible. Can I do something? I need a to run some things from OS9 and classic Thanks

you can emulate a classic environment with this:
    http://www.gibix.net/dokuwiki/en:projects:sheepshaver
I have never used it myself, but it says you will need a copy of macOS classic for it to work.
There is no way in intel OSX to run classic applications...

  • I purchased snow leopard and got a disk with OSX 10.6.3 but my macbook with intel processor and 1 gig won't update.  It restarts but doesn't update after disk installs

I purchased snow leopard from online macstore in Australia and got a disk with OSX 10.6.3 but my macbook with intel processor and 1 gig won't update from 10.5.8.  It restarts but doesn't update after disk installs.  Do I need 10.6.0 to install first?

Insert the Snow Leopard DVD, restart your MacBook while holding down the C key, this should start your Mac from the optical drive instead of your hard drive. Choose your language and install Snow Leopard. When it's done and you've restarted on your new 10.6.3 system run software update to upgrade to 10.6.8. Done.

I have an iMac and a MacBook with Intel Core 2 Duo processors. I realize that this is within the stated requirements for Lion.  However was wondering if by migrating to Lion this will result in too much demand on processor resources, thus a slower machine than using Snow Leopard?

Which iMac?  Which Macbook?   Both have had several model
itertations, even within the framework of a Core2Duo processor.
With that said, I have an early 2009 iMac 24", with 2.66 GHz
Core2Duo with 8 gig of RAM, and in my opinion, seems to be running
    smoother and faster with Lion.

  • Does Macbook with intel core2 duo suffer from discolor on the handrest?

I was wondering, I have a Macbook with intel core2 duo, and was wondering if it suffers from discolouration as in the previous model with just intel core duo?

Am going to have to contradict you and say no, it
hasn't been resolved. I love my Mac almost beyond
words but after 4 weeks it was showing signs of
discolouration + I intend taking it in for a chat.
What you mean is that it's supposed to have been
    resolved.
I've always maintained that the chassis and plastics on the MacBook are really poorly designed. Not saying that about the electronics, which, in my opinion, is purely elegant. By saying ''poorly designed'', I'm not attacking Apple. Just that sometimes this stuff happens.
So, my solution was to go with the flow and look for options that combat it. In my case Mareware makes a decent skin that goes where your palms go.
I'm on my second skin. The first skin was white to match the MacBook plastic. However, even though my hands are generally clean, the Mareware began staining after about four months.
So, I purchased a second skin, a BLACK skin. Kinda cool. Contrasting. And it just doesn't SHOW the staining.
Anyway, I really have enjoyed using the MacBook. Don't like the case. Apple did a great job in getting the heat issue resolved. Just the case... No biggie for me.
    I love this computer.

  • Opinion: Do I buy 1-2 yr old iMac/Powerbook/MacBook with Intel?

I am at the end of my rope with my iMac PowerPC. It's too slow and can't even load the latest Flash so my streaming is spotty at best and even downloads are jerky.
In a month or two, I'll have enough to upgrade.
Where is the best value for restricted budgets? My iMac is 7 years-old with Leopard, G5, 1.9GHz PowerPC and 1 GB RAM.
I would like to get the biggest bang for the buck. So where do I go? I have only 6-700 bucks so can't afford a new iMac or new anything that is Mac. But I need to run Windows and stream unlimitedly...
I also need to run VPN4ALL. I'm intrigued with that program!
    So what do you think?
An almost-new iMac (won't cost as much as a PowerBook or MacBook, will it?), a used portable? I've pretty much eliminated iPad due to its own limitations.
    I'd really appreciate the advice!

  • MacBook Pro 17" with Intel Core 2 Duo startup freeze with 10.6.8?

With my MacBook Pro 17" with Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.33 GHz startup freeze with 10.6.8 - I had problems after several SW upgrades. Startup ends every time in a freeze or a crash, nothing is running, i am not able to type in the password. it starts in beginning with thin colored disrupting lines on the display and this get more and more and than freeze the system.
"Save Boot", startup with shift shows no problems, display is ok, no freeze. So something must new in the video-driver. Is there any driver what I can delete or any new software to help in this issue?

try to boot off the cd installazzione, when the screen appears to follow thePACKING screen viewing. If you've already looked in the manual are your problem?

  • I have a MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo and Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Want to upgrade to Lion to take advantage of icloud. Is there anything I can do without getting a new MacPro?

I have a MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo and Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Would like to upgrade to Lion but it requires a minimum of Intel Core 2 Duo. Can I get what I need or do I have to buy new MacBok Pro?

I also have a core duo MBP with Snow Leopard and it runs perfectly.  There are very few things it cannot do as compared to the faster, newer MBPs, but that is attributable to the CPU, not the OS.  There are some who view Lion as downgrade rather than as an improvement.  If there are important applications that reqire a fast CPU or Lion features that you find essential, by all means get a new MBP.
I have an aphorism:  Obsolescence is more often a perception rather than a reality.  Besides the silver keys look much classier than the black ones.
    Ciao.
