Since Re-activation as suggested by the link above is not working for you, Can you please confirm the following:
The OperatorURL is reachable. ( you can find the operatorURL from the acsm file by opening it in notepad,etc)
And Book is still available on the book-store for purchase.
(If any of first two are not available, you might have to talk to distributor for next action item to get the book. Since you will have record of purchasing the book, (in my opinion) they should provide you the new token for downloading the book)
And please confirm this that you used the same userID for downloading that you used when you first fulfilled/downloaded the book.
(If it is the case, then you have to use the correct userID)

When I try ctrl alt delete, I get the blue windows log in sceen. How do I get past the log in screen to use the ctrl alt delete to change authorization for the adobe digital editions screen.

Adobe apps can be reset to their factory defaults by using Ctrl+Alt+Shift, not Del. The rest doesn't really make any sense since you did not provide any details and authorizations can't be changed that way, anyway. If you want to transfer books to other devices you need to contact the vendors to release the DRM/ provide a new download and if you want to change the registered ID, you need to contact support or create a completely new account, which in turn will require you to buy your DRM managed books again/ get a new download as well.

Technote upate: "Adobe Digital Editions does not install on Windows Vista" now v1.6

http://www.adobe.com/go/kb403051 has now been updated to contain the 1.6 version of Digital Editions.
Note that the instructions remain the same. Only the download is new.

Installing Adobe Digital Editions

Hi, I want to be able to download e-books through e-pub from the library and Adobe Digital Editions is needed to do this. I've downloaded what I thought was ADE but what I get is what appears to be the book, "Getting Started with Adobe Digital Editions." I want the software. How do I get it? Am I mission something? I've checked the Adobe website and library's too but there aren't any other choices for ADE software. I have Windows Vista by the way. Help!

Copy paste the URL and check whether you are able to download ADE.

I am unable to install adobe digital edition 3 on windows 8. It does not open and gives an error message. Please help.

I have bought online books and I am unable to read them unless this is installed.

Do I need Adobe Digital Editions 2 and 3. on my computer?

Recently I was going through 'Programs and Features' and realized I had Adobe Digital Editions 2 and 3 installed. Are both needed. I am running Vista on Windows 7 (64 bit).
I have medical memory problems and am finding Chrome to be challenging.
I also wonder if this could be related to the problem I am having with not being able to open Adobe Reader. I have the JavaScript all figured out and am trying everything I can think of to open Adobe Reader. I am open to any suggestions.
Because of my problems all replys need to be in English (not in computer jargon) and in a 1, 2, 3 sequence. Sorry to be troublesome but thats me.

I had the same issue. I uninstalled version 2 and my program ran fine. Well, it still has the same problem I had with version 2, which is why I'm in the forums right now, but you don't need both versions. I don't know if having both will cause issues or not (some extensions and apps have this issue) from what I saw, downloading version 3 did not update version 2. You just got another ADE program that was a bit newer.
However, I'm not an expert. This is just what I experienced by uninstalling it. I highly doubt you'd have a problem. And if you do have some weird issue from it? Uninstall all ADE programs from your computer, and then reinstall the most current version available. Should fix you right up. Good luck!

Error Message on Adobe Digital Edition

Im using Adobe Digital Edition for a while now when my laptop was accidentaly spilled over. Thank goodness my laptop is still working but now I have a problem returning all the ebooks I borrowed online from the library. Everytime I return them it says: Error getting license
Server communication problem: E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED. Can anybody help me fix this problem. The license got invalid/expired somehow.

I am getting a message that Adobe Digital Edition 2.0 has stopped working.

I cannot open Digital Edition and tried downloading again, but nothing happens! I have Windows Vista.

I am not impressed. After being on hold with the sales department for 20 minutes, they assured me that the tech dept. would help, so I waited another 25 minutes for them. Tech directed me to online chat, where I waited another 35 minutes, only to be told that he could not help and that I'd have to post in this forum space. Adobe kindly upgrade your business practices!

Digital Editions problem

I have managed to download a book from a library to my computer, but it does not show up in my Adobe Digital Editions so I can send to my NOOK. Am I missing a step ?

This is my first time installing this software and I am getting the error message "Could not find Digital Editions folder". From reading the forums I can see that this has been a major issue for over 3 years. I have none of the issues that you list that would keep it from working correctly. Your installer says that the program was correctly installed, My "My Documents" folder is on the C drive (the Digital Editions folder is already showing in the folder) and I have no foreign non-ascii characters in my folder path. I have tried installing it on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and on my Powerbook and I still get the error message "Could not find Digital Editions folder". I am using the latest edition so why does this software not work? And why can't the software be downloaded and then installed? Why does it have to be installed from the web?

CS4 InDesign Export Book for Digital Edition - Using TOC

We have been using InDesign 3, now CS4 Version 6.0.2, to create book PDFs without any issues for a few years.
Recently we tried to use the new feature "Export to Digital Edition". It works correctly as long as we do not select "Include InDesign TOC entries".
If we do select that option, then the job ends with the message "All documents are missing or failed to export". Tried different options, looked around the web for any clues, but no one seems to have come across such a condition.
In case it is relevant, we are using Vista Premium operating syste.
Any suggestion or help is welcome.

While I've used the feature, I've never used it with a TOC. You should upgrade to 6.0.3 to make sure that it wasn't fixed there.

Can't open acsm file in new Adobe Digital Editions?

I have changed pc's since downloading a acsm file and can't open in adobe digital editions even using the same login in Adobe. I get an error message saying it's already licensed...

Open Adobe Digital Editions.
Press Control-Shift-D to De-Authorize Adobe Digital Editions.
Select De-authorize.
Click Quit.

Digital editions will not authorize

I have purchase an epub from an author. I was provided with URLLINK to open/load the book.
I downloaded and installed Adobe digital editions numerous times.
I am able to read the starter ebook that downloads with the software
The authorization screen continues to get "connection error" "Digital Editions could not connect to activation server. Please make sure you are connected to the internet"
I am currently using the same computer/network etc just fine.
What is missing? Why can not I not activate my copy of Adobe Digital Editions?
I have reboot, uninstalled and resinstalled to no avail.
Any ideas?

I finally got this resolved by the Adobe tech in a chat session. It turns out this version of Digital Editions is not compatible with Window Vista, which is what I was using. He gave me a link to an older version which is not on their website and this worked fine. I uninstalled the new version and use the older one and it works fine.

I downloaded adobe.com/products/ digital editions but my computers says windows can't run it?? help - I have the lastest flash... ? (I have windows vista )
