  • Unable to enable SPDIF??? X-Fi XtremeGamer (non-PRO) w/ Digital I/O Module

JUnable to enable SPDIF? X-Fi XtremeGamer (non-PRO) w/ Digital I/O Module? I recently purchased the Digital I/O module in order to use SPDIF Out on my X-Fi XtremeGamer in order to send audio to my 5. receiver via digital coax.
However after hooking up my Digital I/O module to the flexijack (the one with the red light) I am unable to enable SPDIF.
I read and followed the directions listed here:
    <a rel="nofollow" href="http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=64440"]http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=64440[/url]
The options that they tell you to set are simply are not there on my system.
I am running the most current drivers and console launcher that Creative has on their website.
I have been trying to get it to work both under Windows XP and Windows 7.
I have spent the last 3 hours beating my head on a wall, I hope someone can help me with this...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Ah that's what I am afraid of.
Quoted from the article in your message: "For SB073X series : Supports Microphone-in, Line-in and Optical out connections. On a SB073X series card, this jack does not have the Digital-in function to support the Digital I/O Module. It does however connects to external digital audio devices that accept stereo PCM or compressed Dolby Digital/DTS Bitstream from the Optical output. This will require using a "Toslink to Mini Toslink" cable for connection only."

  • Optical connection without Digital I/O module

I have a PS3 and Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme music...
I want to connect the optical out of PS3 to my sound card's flexi jack(Mic/Linein/Digital I/O socket). I want to do this because I have Creative analog 7. speakers Inspire 7900.
I understand i can do this by buying the Creative Digital I/O module
    http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=3&subcategory=55&product=780
I guess there is no conversion happening inside that.
So is there a cable that I can directly connect from PS3 Optical out ---> Flexi jack on the extreme music sound card?
Please help me out guys. I am from India and buying that digtial I/O module is nearly impossible here as its not available Message Edited by Oblivioner on 07-2-20070:44 AM

rry Oblivioner but this cable only is spdif OUT (my english is very bad and don?t see you want SPdif IN).
You can change the pinout of the conector and test with spdif IN but in think dont work

This pinout is originally founded by Samir. In Audigy 2 ZS, connecting pins 25 and 35 together will fake Audigy dri've. In X-Fi, that trick doesn't work. No work around has been found yet. Cannot get SPDIF IN, I2S Input and MIDI I/O to work without it. SPDIF outs work fine without trick.

  • X-Fi with Digital I/O Module = no Dolby Digital Out

i have buy the Digital I/O Module for my X-Fi Extrem Music and i have connect with a Koaxial Cable on my Kenwood 9060 Recei'ver. the Problem is i have only Stero signal but not Dolby Digital. in den Option from the X-Fi i have select in the Dolby option "Dolby Digital Bitstream Output" on. by Digital E/A i have select 48Khz and by FlexiJack Modus i have select Digital E/A. Speaker Settings i have select 5.. u use a Divx Movie with Dolby 5. Sound and view this with Media Player Classic with SPDIF Out. why can i hear only Stereo and not Dolby 5. on the Kennwod ?

See the sticky at the top of this forum, http://forums.creative.com/creativel...message.id=270
Basically the root cause is that CL cards don't have a D/DD encoder. The bitstream option affects what happens w/ the bitstream read off a DVD.. If the sound was created by the a CL card it will be stereo at best.

Is Digital Asset management module is part of Webcenter content?
    Yes.
Then, WebCenter sites is the latest version of fatwire. Is digital asset management module included in it?
No. WebCenter Sites is a different product. The only thing available in the newest release is that you can use WebCenter Content as the content repository for Sites' content, so you should be able to expose DAM's features such as multiple renditions and/or streaming also in Sites. But you will need to license it (or get the WebCenter Suite Plus license which contains everything).

  • Will the Sound Blaster Digital I/O Module enable me to use my DTT3500's with my audigy

I have a vanilla audigy 4. Just found out that it only supports 2. digital speakers. My DTT3500's are 5. and in the spaeker test only the front left and right make a sound, as digital 2.. will the Sound Blaster Digital I/O Module enable me to get digital 5. as my old soundblaster li've platinum 5. let me do? ie. all speakers show up in the speaker test?
    yours sincerely,
    john kelly

No. The digital output module is simply an adaptor to standard 2-channel connections such as optical, coaxial etc. Even if it includes the bigger 9-pin DIN connector which was the first generation of the DIN connectors, the Digital Output on the Audigy 4 is still only giving it 2 channels of sound, so all rest speakers will be silent.
If you are interested and have the skills you may modify the DTT3500 to support an extra analog connection for the center channel, the instructions were posted on this forum somewhere. Do a search...
There is really no other way to have the center channel receiving the signal from the card. (Theoretically you could modify the card to get the signals from there, but the chances are you will most propably destroy it in the process).

  • Audigy 2 ZS and Digital I/O module compatibili

Hi,?Looking to build a HTPC and thinking about using the Audigy 2 ZS as my sound card. I have a question about it though. Accourding to this- - http://us.creative.com/local//produc...es/sbchart.asp?the Digital I/O module is not compatible with the 2 ZS. I downloaded the manual for the Audigy 2 ZS and it says to use a 3.50 mm (/8-inch) mono-to-RCA cable and I cannot find one of those anywhere, and it appears to me that the Digital I/O module does basically the same thing. So will the Digital I/O work with the 2 ZS or does anyone know where I can get that 3.5 mm mono to RCA cable, it has to be a coaxil digital cable though.
My goal is to have Dolby Digital sound just my my DVD player I have now only with my PC so I can have one media hub, my HTPC. Also if anyone has built a HTPC and has a good setup please reccomend Im open to all suggestions,? Thanks for anyhelp at all.

    sprint_9,
Yes, you're right. The Digital I/O module isn't compatible with the Audigy 2 ZS soundcard.
You should be able to find a 3.5mm mono to RCA cable easily from your local audio/electronic stores if not, you can also get a 3.5mm stereo to dual RCA cable for the same purpose. Take note, only one end of the RCA cable has the audio signal(Sorry, can't remember whether it's the white or the red end).
You can also find such cable from online stores like this.

  • Digital I/O Module and 5.1 digital speak

    Hello all,
First of all, excuse me for my English. I will try to explain my problem the best I can.
I have a Sound Blaster Audigy installed on my PC. I wanted to use it with a 5. digital speakers system (with digital optical input). On the soundcard instructions I read about the "Digital I/O Module", that allows you to connect 5. digital speakers. Then, I bought it (on creative online shop), and I have received it today. But, when I have connected it to the speaker system, the output sound is only 2.0. I have selected 5. on speaker configuration, but in the test, it only sounds the front left and right speakers. I have tried with a DVD movie, and the sound is only 2.0, also. Is there any way to play 5. sound on DVD movies (and AC3 sound system, if possible) with my configuration?
In other forum posts, I have read something about this problem, but I can not find any solution for it, or if it is possible to solve it.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Creative Digital I/O Module with Audigy 2 ZS Problems

5Creative Digital I/O Module with Audigy 2 ZS Problems? Hello - new to the forums, but a long time Soundblaster user.
I have read pkc's Digital Connections FAQ, but i am still struggling with my digital setup:
I have had an Audigy 2 ZS for some time. I have recently bought a surround sound amp and want to connect my PC to the amp digitally using the Audigy 2 ZS. So i have bought the Creative Digital I/O Module which understand is perfect for connecting the two, but i cannot get any output from it.
Firstly, the Creative Digital I/O Module is part no. SB0002 and has a 4 pole mini jack. I have connected it to the digital output of the Audigy. I have then connected the i/o module to the amp using digital coax cable. The amp receives no signal from the module and also i cannot see any light from the module's optical output. What do i need to do to get the i.o module working with the Audigy and sound to the amp?
Secondly, i have read in pjc's post that the digital output can act as a digital coax, but how do connect a 4-pole mini jack output to a single phono jack for the digital coax?
Thanks in advance for any advice here.

  • 5.1 sound with Digital I/O Module + Vista + X

Hello, I tried searching the forum and even browsed through 6 pages looking for a solution but I am stumped. I have an X-Fi XtremeGamer with the 002 drivers installed in Vista x32. I bought the Digital I/O Module from Creative and have the optical cable running to my Klipsch Decoder control box. I can not for the life of me figure out how to output the digital signal correctly. Do I set the Speakers item in the playback devices as default and enable Digital I/O in the custom tab Or do I check select SPDIF Out as my default device. I have tried many combinations and just can't get it to work. Any help Thanks

Thanks again for your continued help. My speaker set is the Klipsch ProMedia GMX D-5. System. I'm sure too that it is not the Klipsch as other sources (i.e. Digital Coax, Analog, and even another Digital Optical) decode and play properly. I'm not sure what X-Fi model I have as I can't take the computer apart right now but will try and do that this weekend. I downloaded and installed the Dell driver dll but still can't get it to work. How do you test your sound Can I just have the speaker configurer test each speaker or should I put a Dolby Digital DVD in I have my 5. headphones plugged into the speaker ports. Does that interfere with the digital out When I look at the Optical cable I do not see a red beam of light so I think it is still in the settings. Here are my settings and questions screen for screen.http://www.musicforourfuture.com/digitalio/sound.JPG In this screen should the green check mark be on speakers or SPDIF Out When I set it on SPDIF Out the green volume bar does bounce up and down but I don't here anything. http://www.musicforourfuture.com/dig...properties.JPG In the SPDIF Out configuration screen what does the Dri'vebay RCA Jack mean Does this look right http://www.musicforourfuture.com/dig...%20formats.JPG These are my format settings. The Klipsch doesn't do DTS. http://www.musicforourfuture.com/dig...20advanced.JPG These are my "Advanced" options. Correct http://www.musicforourfuture.com/dig...nable%20io.JPG I've got this checked in the Speakers configuration. http://www.musicforourfuture.com/dig...%20blaster.JPG Is the CMSS-3D suppossed to be listed here http://www.musicforourfuture.com/dig...ole%20dell.JPG I should have the Dolby Digital button checked since I'm using an external decoder, right http://www.musicforourfuture.com/dig...le%20spdif.JPG Should the Digital Out be 48 or 96 Khz or does it matter Sorry for the long post ... just trying to be thorough. • DTS-610 *INSTEAD* of Digital I/O Module: A Solution

Since it appears the much sought after Digital I/O Module is not, and possibly never will be, available to U.S. customers, is it possible to use the DTS-60 in its place?
Agreed, it would be a rather expensi've alternati've, however it WOULD (or would it's) provide the same Digital Optical & Coaxial outputs as the Digital I/O Module, CORRECT?!?!?
If I use the DTS-60 say, with my Li've! 24-bit PCI card, set BOTH the card and the DTS-60 to pass-thru, would it not supply the Dolby Digital 5. ENCODED signal (from the software DVD player) to my Logitech Z-5500 speakers w/built DECODER?
Or, in another scenario with an Audigy 2 card, set the software DVD player to passthru, let the Audigy 2 DEcode the 5. signal and send it on to the speakers via Digital Optical or Coaxial?
Someone (CATHERINE? DANIEL?) please offer up some advice on this as it just MAY be the workaround I've been looking for...
    THANKS!

If you mean using that silly "FlexJack", there is no OPTICAL capability there, plus I would have to change connectors from 'this' to 'that' to 'something else' before it ever reaches the decoder, which has RCA Coaxial and TosLink Optical...
Keep in mind, we're talking about the Li've! 24-bit Series (for now)...Message Edited by Jo6Pak on 0-3-2006 09:46 PM

  • Digital I/o Module not working w/ Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Mu

I purchased a X-Fi Xtreme Music 3 months ago. It was and still is working great. Recently, I purchased the digital i/o module because I wanted to connect a optical cable to my sound card. When I plugged it into the flexi jack and switched it to digital i/o, the light in the optical in appeared. I plugged in my optical cable? (which is connected to my xbox 360) but no sound is coming out of my speakers. I tested my optical cable with another receiver and it works fine, but I can't get it to work with my computer. I have tried everything that I can think of, and have read all the different guides on how to enable your digital i/o from the creative site but nothing seems to be working. I even updated the creative files from the website. Any help would be appreciated.

i have the EXACT same problem, but i have the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Professional Series and i get no red light lol have you tried changing audio settings on your xbox ? change it to something like stero to make sure thats not the problem hope this helps, let me know how you get on

  • Audigy 4 Digital I/O Module Optical

I just installed a new Audigy 4 OEM card and bought the I/O module for it. I only get popping crackling noise thru the Digital IN via both Optical and coax. The source is my cable box and Ive confirmed that it works connecting it to a home receiver. What gives? Do the OEM Audigy's have cripped DIgital connection?

Creatieve Audio Console, istalled w/ driver update (least came w/ two or three latest updates).
If you don't have this application then, search your hard disk after ctpanel.exe and use it.
Look settings for S/PDIF I/O and Bit-Accurate features. In CTPanel those maybe differently named options.
