Digital ID used to encrypt a document, I think I lost my ID.

Ill try to keep this short as possible, but I want to include the story as to what I think happened.
We installed a new domain controller in our building and manually recreated all of the users. We used the same login names but the domain name changed. So using ProfWiz we migrated all of the user accounts to the new domain and now nobody can open the purchase order PDF's. Unfortunately I wasn't involved in setting up the digital ID's or setting the permissions on these documents and the person that did it was let go from his job a couple days ago. I still have his user profile and computer so I tried accessing the files from his account, but it is also on the new domain so I cant access the PDF's from the creators computer either.
Is there any way I can re-import these digital ID's or do I have to revert a computer back to the old domain? I'm not sure what are my other options are.
The error message I'm receiving is "A digital ID was used to encrypt this document but no digital ID is present to decrypt it. Make sure your digital ID is properly installed or contact the document author."

Just wondering if anyone has an answer for this? Or if its impossible, I dont want to waste my time with it either. Thanks.

Could you please help me with the following questions regarding SM2 encryption.
1) Whether Adobe China supports SM2 algorithm inside their Chinese version of Adobe Reader. US version does not support SM2 algorithm so signature validation will fail even if we were to use SM2 algorithm in our PDFs. This will be a key question to ask Adobe China and how they support viewing/validating of signed PDFs.
2) We use iText library to digitally sign the PDF document. iText uses BouncyCastle library (http://bouncycastle.org/specifications.html) to perform the actual encryption. SM2 algorithm is not supported by BouncyCastle out-of-the-box so we will need to extend BouncyCastle by implementing SM2 and modifying iText (open source version) to use SM2 for digitally signing the PDF. This could be a non-trivial task. So, the question is how do the Chinese digitally sign their PDFs using SM2? Do they use a third-party library that we can license?
3) Does Adobe China provide a PDF Java library for programmatically modifying and signing a PDF which is "Chinese"-compliant?

Error message when encrypting a document

I'm attempting to encrypt a document using Adobe Acrobat with a digital ID. When I go to choose the recipient’s certificate, I receive the following error "The following recipients could not be added to the recipient list: Unexpected error while looking for an encryption certificate". Anyone else experienced this issue and how did you fix it?

My guess is the certificate file is using a digest algorithm (I know, techno-babble) that Acrobat doesn't understand, but that's just a guess. If I could get you to send me the file you are trying to select then I could take a look and see what's really going on. The thing is, the Adobe e-mail server won't let a .cer file thought, so, if it's a.cer file could you rename it use the .p7b extension, and if it's already a .p7b file then all you need to do is send it as an e-mail attachment to [email protected]

Thanks. I will try going through TM. Since my Simpletech is on the way out, I'll be plugging in a new external hard drive (other than the back-up drive) and trying to restore the library to the new drive. Any advice or warning if this is NOT the right thing to do?
Meanwhile, that is a great tip to do an alternate back-up using a different means. It's been tough to figure out how to "preserve access" to digital images and files for posterity, knowing the hardware will always fail/obsolesce sooner or later, and that "clouds" are only as good as their consistent and reliable accessibility. Upping the odds with redundancy will help dull the edge of my "access anxiety", though logically, it can never relieve it. Will look into
Carbon Copy Cloner.

I have Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) installed on a laptop with Windows, and a Mac laptop.
I have authorized ADE on both machines. I use the laptops at different locations
Currently i have 2 separate libraries (small libraries of < 10 books) on both computers but I would like
to be able to keep both libraries in synch - such that the books and especially the notes/bookmarks
are the same when I read the book on both laptops.
For example what I want to be able to do is read and takes notes using ADE on the PC
and then when I logon to my Mac laptop - to read the same book, and continue where
I bookmarked last, and also see the notes I had added previously on the other laptop.
Is this possible? Thanks
your help is much appreciated. I read and take alot of side notes
and this will save heaps of time.
I am a new to ADE but it feels like each computer/laptop where ADE will hold
a different library, with different set of books and bookmarks. Is it possible

In windows xp serivce pack-2, ADE 2.0 is working perfectly for few days only, but after few days ADE 2.0 is not opening. I dont know why it is not opening? Can anyone tell me reason behind this?
If RUN>>MSCONFIG>GENERAL>DIAGNOSTIC STARTUP - LOAD BASIC DEVICES AND SERVICE ONLY > APPLY > OK and restarting the system then the ADE 2.0 is opening.
If RUN>> MSCONFIG>GENERAL>NORMAL STARTUP - LOAD ALL DEVICE DRIVERS AND SERVICES > APPLY > OK and restarting the system then the ADE 2.0 is NOT opening. As you people are well aware that we cannot use the diagnostic startup since it will allow basic service and devices only.
I have tried the following methods to overcome this issue (from internet)
1. Uninstall Adobe Digital Editions using one of these two methods:
Start > Programs > Adobe > Adobe Digital Editions > Uninstall
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
2. Initiate Uninstall
3. In order to remove all remnants of Adobe Digital Editions / Adobe Adept from the machine a "Registry Edit" will need to be performed:
Start > Run > Regedit
4. Search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Adobe > Adept and Delete the full "Adept" folder
5. Remove only the structures that are under the "SOFTWARE" extensions. This will remove the Adobe ID / License and Activation Keys
6. Clear any outstanding tasks that may be associated to Adobe Digital Editions downloads
C:\data\my digital editions
C:\my documents\my digital editions
7. Delete any documents within these folders:
Restore > Tasks
Restore > Failed
8. Re-install Adobe Digital Editions
9. I have updated Windows xp from SP2 to SP3
The above methods didn't helped me to solve this issue. Then, i have used DIAGNOSTIC STARTUP and safe mode, it was opened, but not in normal user mode.

Encrypting PDF documents in Preview

If you try to encrypt a PDF document in Preview by selecting the encrypt checkbox in the Save As panel, you might find that when you re-open the encrypted document, any forms that you filled out in the document have garbled characters instead of the text. This appears to be a bug to me.
To encrypt a PDF document that contains a form that you filled out with the Preview application:
1. Choose "Print..." from the File menu.
2. In the sheet that appears, choose "Save as PDF..." from the PDF button in the lower left corner.
3. In the Save panel that appears, click the "Security Options..." button in the lower middle of the panel.
4. Complete the panel that appears according to the security restrictions you want.
5. Save the PDF from the Save panel in step 3.
When you open the document back up, you will be prompted for passwords according to the restrictions you specified. The document's entered text should be just as you saved it.
*Warning: If you choose to password protect the ability to print the document, and re-open the encrypted document and try to print it, it asks you for the password. Even if you enter the password, the document won't print. The encryption permissions in the Inspector floating panel for the document will also say that you don't have the ability to print. Seems like another bug.*
I would think that encrypting a document should also give you the ability to password protect it. Having to act like you're printing the document seems unintuitive. I hope these bugs get fixed soon.

No sense posting here unless you have a problem. If you want to report this to Apple, either send Feedback or send bug reports and enhancement requests via its Bug Reporter system. To do the latter, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure over submitting feedback is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

How can i open encrypted word documents and still be able to edit?

I need to open encrypted word documents at my work to edit reports which are sensitive in nature, then be able to send them back to colleagues encrypted. I would like to do this all on my iPad. Are there specific apps I can download to be able to do this? Right now I'm using Google Drive for documents online and would like to be able to utilize this.

I have an issue in which I create Sales Document>>Delivery Document and after that if I save my Billing Document a message pops up like:
Print Excise invoice in Series grp 111 using J1IP for Billing document 12345
And Excise Invoice gets generated automatically without J1IIN, to which I can view in the display mode in J1IIN.
I wish to Create Excise Invoice by using T Code: J1IIN not automatically.
I have checked all the number ranges and search the forum extensively but couldnu2019t found a possible solution.

Instructs the system to automatically create an outgong excise invoice immediately you create a commercial invoice or a pro forma invoice.
The system creates the excise invoice in the background.
Dependencies
If you want to make use of this function, you must also define the default plant, excise group, and series groups in Customizing for Excise Duty, by choosing Business Transactions -> Outgoing Excise Invoices -> Maintain Default Excise Groups and Series Groups
SPRO>Logistics General>Tax on Goods Movement>India>Basic Settings-->Maintain Excise Groups.
Under the Outgoing Excise invoice tab there is a check box (Excise invoice during billing)

How do I use values form different documents on numbers?

I have two problems: When I open an Excel worksheet that has references to other spreadsheets, Numbers automatically turns these cells into formulas with the wrong reference, giving therefore the wrong values. How do I prevent or change this?

As it seems that you didn't understood, I repeat :
there is no built-in feature allowing us to exchange datas between two different documents.
So, what you get when you import an Excel document embedding external links is the designed behavior.
Here you are speaking to end users like you. We can't change the app behaviour.
If you need to work with linked XL documents, Numbers is not the good tool.

Nice alternative, but it still doesn't work on a Windows machine when the
mail software from Microsoft doesn't react on PDF actions.
You can do many things in Acrobat, but it is a problem when it doesn't work
on Windows and iPad.
So now I am looking for alternatives like interactive magazine software
(based on html5).

You can download a document from icloud.com/iwork to your Mac or Windows computer, edit it, and then drag the revised version to icloud.com/iwork. It’s then automatically updated on all of your iOS devices. You can also drag an iWork ’09 (Keynote, Pages, and Numbers) or Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) document created on your computer to icloud.com/iwork.
So it looks like it can go between iOS devices and your iMac.

How do i simulate a digital instrument using FP

I am a new user of LabView and need to construct an application to verify the operation of data logger programs. I need simulate data from various analogue and digital instruments using standard test data from a spreadsheet. I have just about figured out how to take data from a CSV file and set a FP output to this value for analogue values (voltages and 4-20mA signals) but dont really know how to simulate a digital instrument.
For example one of the instruments I need to simulate is a rotary encoder which produces a 16 bit binary string representing a value in mm this is done on the instrument as follows:
Dataloger sets the enable line high (5V)
Datalogger reads LSB from instrument output buffer (0V = 0, 5V=1)
Dataloger sends 10ms pulse to instrument.
Next bit sent to output buffer on negative edge of pulse
Datalogger reads bit value from output buffer
Datalogger sends 10mS pulse etc etc until all 16 bits have been recieved
Datalogger sets enable line low
In order to test the logger programs I have to send test data from a CSV file to mimic the operation of the encoder ie take a decimal value from the file - convert to 16bit binary - wait for enable line on logger set channel x on FP-DI-330 high - send first bit to channel n on th FP-DO-403 - wait for logger to send clock pulse to channel y on FP-DI-330 - send next bit to channel n etc etc.
Any idea how I might do this?

Good morning Jeff,
I would suggest trying to set up a "triggered" output from your FP modules. Use FP-DI-330 line as the "trigger" and set the acquisition as a reference trigger.
You would need to create an input line that monitors the digital input (trigger line) and once an input has been received (for 10ms) the digital out would then need to output the LSB and so on.
It may be necessary to implement a state machine structure, that will monitor the input until the condition is met (a trigger input) and then output the desired data. For more information on state machines refer to:
