Digital Personnel File archive

Hi,
Can you advise if it's possible to archive Digital Personnel File contents which is stored in Records Management? We've got a requirement to archive Digital Personnel File contents (HCM Processes and Forms (Adobe) and other stored office documents) with metadata. Is it at all possible to define metadata in Records Management?

Hi Jukka,
HCM Processes and Forms already use RM for persisting the data. I believe there are cases & documents created for these processes & forms in RM.
Please have a look at the archiving solution for cases & records for the same. They are available from the sdn link of RM. I have also posted news item on http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-ecm stating the upload of the archiving cookbooks. 
The catch as I see for you is that you will need to know how the processes & forms are stored in RM by HCM & then use the correct archiving solution for those objects.

    DPF (Digital Personnel File) is SAP standard solution to archiving of process forms and attachments at the end of HCM processes (created by HCM Processes and Forms Framework).
    I read that until 2012 Record Management (upon which DPF is built) was SAP Certified solution to Content Management System (ECM). On 2012 SAP changed Records Management name to Folders Management and branded this tool with its new name, implying that RM is no longer SAP Certified Solution to content management.
    So my question is: What is SAP current Roadmap of RM in general and DPF spcifically? and what is SAP current Certified solution to this issue?

    May be not the exact comparison, but atleast I could make out what are the added advantages using opentext.
    DPF from HCM P&F also provides a folder structure irrespective of infotypes , but not all the listed features from opentext could be met.
    Basically DPF is a wrapper on top of RM and it is also connected to Archive . So definitely opentext is way further to go.

    We would like to use Digital Personnel File for HCM Forms & Processes to save forms and attachments using record case management. For this to be done record case management needs to be customized. Can you provide the steps for record case management customization and integrating digital personnel files with HCM forms.

  • Digital personnel file

    I am implementing SAP record management currently for setting up a digital personnel file using the standard service providers ASR......  from SAP.
    We have defined multiple roles (e.g employee and HR advisor). With the record model and authorizion roles I am able to give the correct authorization to both individual roles. Which means that every role is able to view or add the documents using individual element types. 
    The problem I am facing is that if an user has both roles how can I prevent e.g. the HR advisor of viewing the wrong documents of a person. The requirement is that a HR advisor is only able to view the documents of a person based on his advisor role, except his own file.
    Hope anyone can help out.

    One is Category and another one is Anchor. It is different configuration but it tie togehter. It is the terminology in Record Management System. I also looking to create new Anchor and put it in the standard one. But I still can not find how to do that. Please let me know if anyone can find how to link between new Anchor and RMS ID.
    For your case, the problem is cannot assign to any folder or can assign but want to have new folder same as my case?

    Dear experts,
    First of all... Wishing a very happy new year.
      I am new to HCM and Digital personnel files. Now actually I need to configure digital personnel file for HR personnel records, I had small experience in SAP Records management. I did some basic configurations for DPF, Now I want to check personnel records(DPF), but I dont understand how to check or where to check it. Actually I checked it in PA30, but could not find how to navigate to DPF. Also I would appreciate if somebody shares a step by step configuration guide for DPF config. I got idea of creation of records models etc... I am looking for your quick replies. Thanks a lot in advance.

    Also for the DPF to work , as per the documentation you need to set up a single record model , you can check out the tcode organizer , but pre-requsite to that is the records management must be present in your system , you can take help of any basis person to check the same.

  • Content Repository for SAP Digital Personnel Files

    Hi,
    I am trying to configure and use SAP DPF to store employee's certifications and document.  I had created record model and manage to create Personnel Records with tcode SRMRECORDSCREATE.
    I am now trying to find out where the document loaded is stored in the SAP standard configuration.  I searched from online help and documentation, it mentioned that it is based on the content repository that it is set.  However, i couldn't find the standard Content Repository that SAP DPF is using.
    I need to store the document in the external content server.

  • How to create Digital Personnel Foile for HCM Processes and Forms

    Hi I am creating HCM Processes and Forms using FPM Forms. Now to print these forms Alternate Adobe forms also developed. But once the entire process is completed by HR Admin and in future if they want to see the already processed form and if they want to take print out they should be able to do it. So, based on some knowledge I am assuming we can achieve this by Digital Personnel file creation. Can any one please confirm. Whether they can open already processed form and how to get print these forms as this is FPM form and no print option is available.
    In order to configure DPF, can any one share step by step procedure to configure DPF. I dont have any idea on SAP Records Management as I felt this basic is required. Friends help me here.

    For DPF - ensure you have used the anchor correctly refer Save PDF file added to processes and forms WDA
    Regarding the possibility of being able to print it from process browser - I am not sure.

  • Regarding Digital Personal file

    HI Gurus,
    On our ECC 6 on EhP3 and NetWeaver 7.0 running portal, we're trying to configure part of the Business Package for HR administrator (the one in EhP1 that uses WD for ABAP). We want to start by using DPF for storage of employees Certificates, Contracts etc. We're not using Adobe Interactive Forms yet, but that may follow in the future.
    I've read that one can configure DPF for archived documents, but what little information I could glean from help.sap.com haven't helped me with the practical usage.
    I've done configuring in the IMG for DPF, transaction SICF and in NetWeaver for the HR Administrator role to use the demo-DPF (for a demo only, ofcorse), but when I try to use the asr_personnel_file application (Edit Personnel File) from the HR Administrator portal role, I always get an error saying that the employee doesn't have a personnel file.
    Does anyone know how I can create a personnel file for an employee? are there elements I've forgotten? do I for example need to configure ArchiveLink or something?

    Hi,
    Maybe the solution will help somone.
    After configuring DPF in IMG, you have to:
    1. Generate DPF using transaction PASR_DPF_CREATE - it creates the record for documents.
    2. Now you can access the employee DPF either from the system (tcode ORGANIZER or directly HRASR_CALL_TX_PDPF ) or from the portal.

  • How do I install Elements for Windows 7 PC with 64 bit? Get error message - file archive part missing

    We purchased Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on September 7, 2014 and have tried a variety of things including searching through FAQs on the Adobe site, etc. etc. and cannot get our downloads to work. We are avid computer users and have never had problems downloading software before.
    From our account under "orders" - I have tried clicking on the Akamai download manager and the Alternate Download Method on for each application with the same results.
    We have a Windows 7 PC with a 64 bit operating system and Internet Explorer 11.
    On all attempts we get an Adobe screen with 2 links – 1 for a file ending in .7z and a 2nd file ending in .exe.
    I click on the first file and confirm the download completes at 100% (not paused, etc.) and is in the downloads folder for my user name on the PC.
    I click on the 2nd link for .exe and I receive the error message below – 2nd screen shot – “file archive is missing” all folders/files must be in same folder.
    So I see it’s a winzip file (as a winzip pop up folder had come up also) so I download the free version and unzip the files in the same downloads folder under my user name to try that.
    I click on .exe file link again and same message. I tried copying the files directly to the downloads folder (as they all unzipped into a subfolder called PSE 12 and tried clicking on .exe again but get the same message.
    For Premiere I tried the same and got same results on the 64 bit version download.
    I do not know how to access the software we purchased.
    Any help or advice is appreciated.
    Also - if anyone knows how I can contact Adobe for a full refund so I can just buy the boxed software instead - that would be helpful as well as that is not easy to find online either.

    I get an error message saying that the quicktime installer will only work on 32 bit
    The QuickTime player works on 64-bit systems. (It's a 32-bit application, but it should run fine using the standard 32-bit-on-64-bit Windows-on-Windows emulation.)
    What's the precise text of your installation error message, dc? (There one or two different ones I can think of that might mention 32-bit)

  • Open document from Personnel file in ESS

    Hi Guys,
    When opening the personnel file in ESS the record with all nodes and documents are shown.
    When I try to open a document the document itself is not opened and the message "Error while reading component info" is shown.
    When I show the record in the backend using transaction ORGANIZER the document can be displayed.
    Does anyone how to solve this issue?

    We found the solution ourselves.
    Check transaction SICF and activate the service "Content Server".

    Do as it says: Put your downloaded 7z file and the *.exe in a proper folder, not just dump it onto your desktop or whatever.

  • File archive part missing

    I am trying to install RoboHelp 11 on my work laptop, and I keep getting the following error message: "The file archive part of Adobe RoboHelp 11 is missing. You need all the parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe RoboHelp 11. Please download all parts."
    I am not sure what files they are talking about. The IT department bought RoboHelp for me and put it on my network drive. The only thing there was an .exe file. I tried copying that to my desktop and installing, but I keep getting that error message. Is there somewhere on the Adobe site where I can download the missing files? Or do I need to talk to the IT department to get them?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    for windows users there is normally an exe and a 7z file.  the exe is the extractor and the 7z is the archive.

    There is only one file to download - which one depends on your system (32-bit or 64-bit).
    These are the trial versions but will convert to the full version when you supply your serial number.

  • File archive part is missing when trying to download PSE 11.

    I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 last year & downloaded it on my PC. Bought laptop specifically for downloading PSE 11 to use (with correct specifications - windows 8.1) & when double click to run application keeps saying file archive part of PSE11 is missing & need all parts in same folder to extract & to download all parts. I have been downloading both parts (using Firefox) & put both parts in same folder. I have already looked on forum & seen people have had same problem & followed advice given to them (& links) but still going round in circles with this.
