Digital Signature - Cold Fusion

we are in the process of implementing Digital Signature
process with PKI technology complaint. Reports is geneated as a PDF
format using cold fusion tools. Is there is any feature to
implement digital signature process in Cold Fusion. since Cold
Fusion is a Adobe Product ? How Can I take advantage of that ? Any
suggestion/help is really appreciated.

I am really interested about this topic. I am in the same
condition of CF100. I have to build an application where the user
have to sign a form with his digital signature. I hope that someone
from Adobe can help us about this issue

  • Digital Signature Setup for Fusion Applications Saas Customers

    Hi,
I have been reading in the Fusion Middleware book and I see that we can define the Digital Signature, but it looks like it can be done only in SOA.
We have a customer that requires this information on how they can set it up in fusion applications and if it is supported for the SaaS customers ?
    Regards,
    Nag

Can you elaborate on what the requirement is ? Are you trying to integrate with services using message protection or ? if so you may find the following documentation useful:

  • Problem in Cold Fusion MX

we have an issue displaying content that is under a database,
with a datatype ntext. CF don't give us any error but it just don't
display the field that is in a ntext datatype.
Is there a way to get Cold Fusion to display the content that
    is under that datatype?
Everything goes well with CF5 but with CF7, that problem
    appear??? Help anyone???

I have correct the problem by placing the ntext value last in
the select statement... that is king of weird... doesn anybody know
another way to correct that problem???
    You have to put:
    <cfquery datasource="dsfusion" name = "voir">
    select
    id,titre,chronique,images,date_parution,heure_parution,signature,domaine,chroniqueur,cour riel,grande_images,commentaire,approbation,para1,para2,para3,para4,para5,para6,para7,para8 ,para9,para10
    from contenu
    where id = #identification#
    </cfquery>
    instead of
    <cfquery datasource="dsfusion" name = "voir">
    select * from contenu
    where id = #identification#
    </cfquery>

  • Update on 10.6.8 fails due to digital signature on update is missing

wanting to install the Parallels version 10 and it won't work on 10.6.8 version of my Mac OS so I learned how to go to the software update which indicates an update is available. When I go ahead and load the update it runs fine and then stops with a message that the Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update can't be saved. It says the digital signature on the update is missing or invalid.
I don't know if the digital signature is on my computer or the update? I would upgrade to a more recent version of the OS but don't know what will work.
    Can anyone help?
    Dan

Parallels 10 isn't compatible with 10.6 according to the web site.
    Mac Requirements
    Hardware:
A Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor (Core Solo and Core Duo processors are no longer supported)
Minimum 2 GB of memory (4 GB of memory is recommended to run Windows 7 in a virtual machine or if your host OS is Lion)
About 850 MB of disk space on the boot volume (Macintosh HD) for Parallels Desktop installation
About 15 GB of disk space for each virtual machine
    Software:
OS X Yosemite 10.10 or later
OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 or later
Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 or later
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 or later
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
    Application Compatibility
    Applications Compatibility (2)
    Do a backup before installing.
If you can/do upgrade, I recommend you make a copy of the installer and move it out of your Applications folder. The installer self-destructs. The copy will keep you from having to download the installer again.  You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program.

  • Making Multiple Digital Signatures Read-only in Form (Acrobat 9)

I have created a form which includes two (2) digital signature fields.  What needs to occur with the form is Person1 fills the form and then digitally signs it thereby making the form fields read-only .  Person2 then digitally signs the form which should make Person1's digital signature read-only.
    Here's what I've done:
    1) For the Person1 digital signature field, in Digital Signature Properties, under the Signed tab, I have selected Mark as read-only <all fields except these> and selected the Person2 digital signature field.
    2) For the Person2 digital signature field, in Digital Signature Properties, under the Signed tab, I have selected Mark as read-only <all fields> since once Person2 signs the form I do not want Person1 to be able to clear the digital signature and make changes to the form.
    Here's what actually occurs:
Step 1 above works fine.  Once the signature is applied all the form fields are read-only except for the Person2 digital signature field.
The problem is that after Person2 digitally signs the form, even though I selected all fields as read-only, Person1 can 'clear' their signature which leaves all the form fields available for editing and leaves Person2's digital signature still on the form.
I honestly don't care about 'validating' signatures on this form since it's going to be printed but I cannot allow Person2's signature to remain on the form and allow Person1 to edit the form.

  • Digital Signature invalid when sign a PDF with instances

    Hi,
I created a XDP document with LiveCycle Designer ES2.
    This document contains:
    - Some required fields (text fields, data fields ecc...)
    - A Subform that user can add more instance pressing a button, contains some fields
    - A Digital Signature (With a simple fields collection contains only the signature field)
I render the XDP for get a PDF (using ReaderExtensions component) by LiveCycle Workbench ES3.
Then I open the PDF with Adobe Reader X.
I compile the form and don't press on button increase the instances of Subform.
Sign the document and the signature is valid.
Now, instead, if I make the same but increase the instance of Subform, then sign, the signature is invalid...
Can the problem is the different versions of Designer and Workbench?
In past I got some problems, and sometime I resolved creating a new document and copying all the object of old form in new one... It's an ugly solution but it worked.
But in this case don't resolve nothing.
    Any help?
    Thank You!

  • My computer will not let me download because it says there is no digital signature I need this for a college course how can i download it?

I am taking a web design class and my instructor wishes us all to use the same browser. She has provided a link in her syllabus and it does go to the download site for Firefox. However, as I am running the download my computer pops up with "there is no digital signature" and "this file is corrupt" and will not download it. What to do?

Make sure that you do not run the file directly, but save the file to the Desktop and start the installation via a double-click.<br />
You may need to unlock the file via the right-click context menu: Properties > Security

  • Using iText to generate a digital signature that can be signed in Adobe Reader

I am able to create a digital signature in a pdf using iText.  Adobe Reader does not allow that digital signature to be signed.  Everything I have been reading suggests that I need to enabe Reader Usage Rights, but that requires using Adobe Pro.  I was hoping that I would only need Adobe Reader inorder to digitally sign the pdf, is that possible?

    Not without the required rights...

  • Second digital signature invalidates the first one

    Hello to all,
I'm having some troubles adding a second digital signature to an already digitally signed PDF. The library that I'm using in order to handle the PDFs is an open source one, so I'm programmatically editing the PDFs. The first PDF I produce, PDF1 (the PDF with one signature), has a valid digital signature. The second PDF I produce, PDF2 (the PDF with the two signatures), has the second signature marked as valid, but the first one as invalid with the following error:
    Error during signature verification.
Unexpected byte range values defining scope of signed data.
Details: The signature byte range is invalid
I've read and applied all the "best practices" on PDF digital signature, so I'm adding the second signature in incremental mode and I'm sure that the second PDF has no changes in the first part, this because if I make a binary comparison of PDF1 and PDF2, the first part of the PDF2 equals PDF1. So if you remove the incremental part from PDF2 (after the first %%EOF), you obtain PDF1 again with the valid digital signature. So the problem seems to be in something new in the incremental part of PDF2 that makes Acrobat Reader X thinks that the first digital signature is invalid.
If you want to see the three PDFs, here are the links:
    The original PDF: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0BzrgexS80Iq_ODQxZTY2MDk tNTQyYi00YTE0LTk0MTctYWMxNDFiOWY4MjA5&hl=en_US
    PDF1: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0BzrgexS80Iq_ZDQ3MTk1ZmI tNWI4NS00YzdhLTkxNmUtODk1NjVmY2M2NTVh&hl=en_US
    PDF2: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0BzrgexS80Iq_ZGM1YmZhMWE tY2JiYi00YzZkLWE5ZjItNzgwM2RlNzExYWE1&hl=en_US
Any help will be very apreciated. Best regards.

    Hi,
I'm not sure if this helps, but I found something unusual with your PDF2. Just at the beginning of the second incremental update (with the new signature), the first object is added without a carriage return. This make the last line of the previous update looks like this:
    %%EOF3 0 obj
May this leads to incorrect parsing and then invalidates the signature? Not sure about that, but as far as I can read offsets, your byte ranges are correct.

  • Multiple digital signatures in one file

I have a client who wants me to combine 4 different forms into one--then--require a digital signature by the same person after each independent form. So that would be 4 digital signatures total. And all identical. I'm using a different name per each field so there's no conflict.
It appears to work fine until I have it submit dynamically with a PHP script via email inbox.
When I open the PDF (having crunched the info back in from an FDF) the data is there EXCEPT the digital signatures.
Can someone point me to a tutorial?
    Best regards,
    Mare

    Hi Mare,
You cannot merge files and expect that the digital signatures will be preserved. When you sign a file you are signing all of the bytes in that file, and only that file. Once you combine files you are creating a new unsigned file. If someone were to sign the new file they are signing all of the bytes in the new file, not just some of the bytes. There is no "page level" signing in PDF files, only whole file signing.
You can however put the signed files into a Portfolio file. A Portfolio keeps the files separate. Think of a Portfolio like a file cabinet in the physical world. Just because you put different files into the file cabinet drawer, they don't merge.

  • How not to use Cold Fusion and Java

    Overview
This write up is intended to give java developers that are
developing ColdFusion applications some beneficial information:
    things that are not documented.
    Scenario
The company builds enterprise class web application software
for fortune 500 companies. It had purchased a CF 7 based product,
had and existing proprietary J2EE based product, and needed to
integrate the two while meeting a host of new requirements. These
requirements were based on delivering a better user experience,
faster / cheaper integration, increased flexibility /
configuration, useablily, decreasing maintenance costs, the ability
to deploy in either install or ASP models. An initiative was
started to create a new framework that integrated the best of each
technologies. Tactically, this meant that we were to build a hybrid
CF and java application: one that used building blocks (decoupled /
cohesive components) that would allow applications to be rapidly
assembled, configured and deployed. This made sense on several
levels, the team was composed of Java and CF developers, the CF
rapid application development was very productive, there is great
functionality delivered in the CF platform and initial performance
tests showed no cause for alarm
The agreed upon design, based on requirements, and analysis
by both the CF and Java staff has us using CF in the presentation
layer, using a CF based MVC, use of CF based web services. The MVC
was deployed using CFC inheritance for model objects and views made
use of CF custom tags. The internals of the application, used a
rules engine, some proprietary java, ORM, and other J2EE
technology. The initial performance of the system was reasonable.
We pushed on with product implementation.
Then it was time to load test the application, and tune it.
Under load the response times were orders of magnitude slower,
sometimes the pages even timed out.
Armed with our profiler, oracle execution plans and we
charged ahead addressing issue after issue. Note that we took
meticulous care in tweaking the active thread pool and ensuring
that our CF setup was tuned for our application. None of the
observations here are a condemnation of the language; rather they
are aspects that, when considered together, not conducive for
building integrated java and CF frameworks that use a structured /
OO programming practices. Further detail can be provided on
    request.
CFC inheritance should be avoided - resolution of variable
scope is expensive even if properly declared.
Since CF creates a class per method under the covers call
stacks become very large, especially if used in a loop. This is
nominally exacerbated by CF calls necessary to set up for the
    method call (String.toUpper()).
Nesting of loops and if statements should be kept to a
minimum - the conditional for each lookup of logical operator like
LT, GT are synchronized. Under load this results in thread waits.
Jrun has as single thread pool - both http and web service
requests use the same pool. Under load this leads to thread
deadlock. There are work arounds, but they are painful.
Recursion should be avoided - we had a few recursive routines
and these had to be rewritten.
Custom Tags - should be used sparingly - each custom tag
makes a synchronized call to the license server - (This may be
    fixed in CF 8)
    Summary
In the end we got the performance to reasonable numbers, but
we ended up moving some code to java (Custom Tags) and getting rid
of 'good programming' practices (Inheritance, loops, etc), mandated
proper variable scoping for those things left over. We prototyped a
sans cold fusion implementation and had an order of magnitude
improvement in performance and number of requests served per
    second.
The lesson? Use Coldfusion in its sweet spot: make a query,
iterate over the results and format for display. Extensive use of
structure programming techniques or OO CFCs should be avoided: they
will work but under load - but are better as a prototype. Building
frameworks in CF? Think twice, no three times, and, if you must, be
    minimalist.
    Text

    interesting aslbert123,
Not that I doubt you, but could you answer some questions
about your implementation that was so slow:
1.) Did you put your CFCs in the application or server scope?
2.) Were you initializing your CFCs, via CreateObject or
    <cfinvoke>, on every request?
3.) Are you sure that you were properly Var'ing every
variable in your methods? (people typically forget about query
    names and loop iterator variables)
4.) Could you give examples of how your inheritence was set
    up?
5.) For CustomTags, did you call them the old <cf_tag>
way or the newer, better-performing <cfimport> way?
6.) How did you connect CF to Java exactly?
    Thanks,
    Aaron
