  • How can I create a form requesting a digital signature at the end?

I'm looking to create a form for a meeting that allows attendees to fill out their address and pertinent information as an agreement and at the conclusion of the form give them the option to sign electronically/digitally.
How can I do this? Is Adobe Forms the best program for this?

    Hi,
Unfortunately, digital signatures are not supported in Adobe FormsCentral.
In order to collect signatures from the attendees, you can either use Adobe EchoSign to collect electronic signatures or Adobe Acrobat to get the documents digitally signed.

  • Do I have to use EchoSign to request digital signatures via email?

I am using Acrobat XI Professional and want to request a digital signature.  Can this be done outside of EchoSign or no?  If possible, how do I add the signature request to a PDF?

EchoSign does not support digital signatures. What do you mean by "add the signature request to a PDF". If you want to digitally sign PDF then how do you do it depends on PDF. If a PDF has unsigned signature fields, you click on the field and "Sign" dialog pops up and guides you through the process. If there are no unsigned signature fields in PDF then you select Fill&Sign->Work with Certificates->Sign with Certificate. You get a dialog to draw a rectangle for your signature field and then the same "Sign" dialog pops up. You need to have a certificate with a private key suitable for signing to digitally sign a PDF.

  • How do I add a digital signature to my online form?

With regular Adobe (Standard or Professional) software, you can add a digital signature line.  I want to know how I can do it on FormCentral.
When I PDF the form I created on FormCentral and try to add the digital signature in Adobe, I get a message that I cannot due to security settings of the document.

  • How do I create a digital signature to use when filling out applications online?

The application is asking me to add or create a digital ID to sign and encrypt documents. The certificate that comes with your digital ID is sent to others so that they can verify your signature.
I have four options: Browse for an existing digital ID file
Configure a roaming ID for use on this computer
Create a self-signed digital ID for use with Acrobat
Look for newly inserted hardware tokens

  • How to create a digital signature in adobe reader

how to create a digital signature in adobe reader?

Adobe Reader Touch (Windows Store app with "modern" UI) does not support any types of signatures yet.
    Digital Signatures with certificates
Electronic Signatures (that are legally enforceable)
Signature annotations (hand-writing annotations which may not be secure and legally enforceable)
Adobe Reader XI (traditional desktop app with classic UI) supports #1 and #3.
    Adobe EchoSign supports #2.
Adobe Reader for iOS/Android supports #3.

  • Digital signatures for customer facing documents

    Hello,
I am a pretty experienced user of Adobe TechComm Suite (FrameMaker, RoboHelp), but I've never needed to dig too deep into Acrobat, so I am a newbie when it comes to setting up digital signatures.
I am using Acrobat Pro XI on Windows 7 professional, and the people who need to approve documents only have the free Adobe Reader. I don't have access to any sort of workflow system at the moment, and we aren't using a content management system. Adobe EchoSign is not suitable for our documents because of size restrictions and because 3rd-party cloud storage violates corporate policy.
What I'd like to be able to do is this:
Include a signatures page when I create a PDF of a document. Place the document at a shared network location (Windows network).
Notify approvers (Outllok email) that they need to digitally sign a PDF at a shared network location.
See the digital signatures and see that they all are valid.
Send out the signed PDF to external customers, in a way that it doesn't show customers that the document includes a form, and doesn't ask for more signatures, but does confirm that the PDF has not been changed since it was signed. Customers must be able to print all or part of the PDF if they want to.
I have a feeling that I may be missing some steps or some external components. Any advice on how to set this up would be welcome.
    Thanks very much,
    David

What you want to do can be done with Acrobat, but it depends a bit on how many internal users will be needing to sign the documents. For Reader users (desktop versions on Windows and Mac) to digitally sign a document, it needs to be Reader-enabled with either Acrobat Pro (not Standard) or LiveCycle Reader Extensions. The latter is expensive server-based software.
A signature field can be set up so that the document is locked to further changes once it is signed, but this involves the user selecting the option or you can pre-configure the document (signature field, specifically) with a bit of JavaScript so it will always be locked after signing.
The external users will be able to validate the signature (with Acrobat/Reader) and print if you haven't restricted printing.

  • Digital Signatures and Certificate Authorities

My users are wanting a way to sign PDF documents, and have them verified for internal and external receipients. We are currently using Acrobat 9 Standard. I know you can create signatures and 'self-sign' them, but those are only trusted if the receipient manually adds them to their 'Trusted' people.
From my reading, it looks like we need to purchase a third party code signing certificate, such as the following: http://www.verisign.com/code-signing/
My question is, what do we need to do to make that certificate availbable to my users to use for their signatures? I'm having a hard time finding documentation on this part.

Here's a good starting point for understanding how CDS and AATL work with Acrobat and Reader: http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/security/Digital+Signatures+101
Another option you should look into is Adobe EchoSign: http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tag/echosign

  • How do I prevent the use of a digital signature?

I realize this flies in the face of some core security issues built into PDFs, but here we go...
We have a customer for whom we are creating fillable PDF forms.  Due to the nature of the documents, they require handwritten signatures on printed hard copy.  Since the ability to digitally sign any PDF is enabled by default, and especially since Acrobat Reader X apparently prompts the user to use a digital signature, our customer is concerned that some end-users (most of whom will be non-tech-savvy) will be confused by the digital signature concept and would prefer to prevent the use of digital signatures at all.  I have played with the security settings in Acrobat Pro, but they are not granular enough to allow filling in a form without also allowing a digital signature.  Any way to prevent signing?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    @George Johnson:
I tried to edit and save the form from within Acrobat Standard X, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
    @brogers_1:
I am not familiar with EchoSign, but since the end-users are not part of my organization, nor my customer's, I won't have access to their registry settings.
I don't want DigSigs at all.
There is no signature field in the document--unless it is somehow hidden.
When a user either left- or right-clicks any form field (in Reader X at least), a window pops up titled "Form Can Be Filled and Signed Electronically" with a note to click "Sign" etc.:

  • Non-Digital Signature on PDF Form

I've created a form and have a space where a signature is needed.  I'd like to use the signature field, but when my audience tested it the box was blank and did not allow them to upload a digital signature or go through the adobe security signature process (which it did for me).  This could be because they are only looking at it in Reader.  Nonetheless, here's my question:
Is there a way to create a signature field where they can either upload their own electronic signature (like from a .jpg file) or let them sign it with a different font?
Or do I just leave the signature field off, let them print it and hard sign the form, scan it and email it back?
    Help!

Recent versions of Acrobat can use digital certificates to sign PDF forms with a digital signature field.
Only Reader version XI can use a digital certificate to sign a PDF form with a digital signature field only if the form does not have Extended Reader Rights. Older versions or Reader cannot sign with a digital certificate.
If you need this or all versions or Reader you either need to use Echosign or other signing service or purchase a LIveCycle Server product to apply the special right for digital certificate signing. But this will be costly.

  • Does the iOS app allow for digital signatures ?

does the iOS app allow for digital signatures ?

    Hi,
Currently, Adobe Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support digital signatures.  But you can add handwritten signatures (as annotations) to PDF documents.
For digital signatures for legally binding documents and contracts, I'd recommend the desktop version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat Pro/Standard.  Alternatively, you can use Adobe EchoSign for e-signatures.

  • Digital Signature Vendors?

    Hello,
We are building an application that our sales agents will use to fill in fields that will generate a pdf contract that we need to send to new customers. Has anyone used a digital signature vendor such as DocuSign or EchoSign to handle this process? We could give them the ability to check a box or something stating they agree to the contract, but prefer to have an outside vendor that follows certain compliance protocols to ensure the document will be legally binding upon signature. Both of these vendors have development kits for Java, PHP, C, etc. but would prefer something in straight javascript or easier to incorporate with APEX.
    Thanks in advance,
    John

  • How to create a digital signature error

    Hello,
hope i do my post in the right forum (if not i'd be grateful if it could be displaced to the correct forum). I've to do create some incidents to have a look at the output of Security Audit Log (Transaction sm20).
I want to create a digital signature error (SAL Identifier AUV) and i've no clue how i could get it done. First I thought about an invalid single sign on ticket but apart from I would have no clue about how to create such, I don't know if that's a way to make the error, mentioned above, occur.
Maybe you could give me a hint or you have an idea how I could get that done!?
    Thanks in advance
    Tobias

  • Will digital signature work for this?

    Hi,
I've never done this before and wonder if it will work.
I'm using  Acrobat 9 pro extended. I'm creating and sending a Copyright Agreement pdf file that has to be signed by me and the client.  Using the form editing mode I can put  digital signature fields.  Then  back in regular editing mode when I click on a field, it brings the Sign Document dialog with my name already selected and choosing Sign puts my digital signature. I can't remember what I've done previously for my name to be available but I remember signing digitally pdf documents in the past. I don't know if my client has previously signed PDFs but I would like this to be as smooth as possible and assuming the worst case scenario, I wonder if they will be able to sign it, what eventual troubles they may have, and what instructions should I give them along with the pdf?
I will greatly appreciate your help

To follow up on my original post, using Acrobat 9, I opened an empty pdf document, added a signature field, saved and closed. Then to test the user experience of my client, I opened it in the latest version of Acrobat reader. Mouse over the signature filed shows tooltip "Unsigned signature filed, (Click to sign)". Clicking however doesn't produce anything. I looked at the menus and buttons and the most relevant thing I found was the button with the tooltip "Sign, add text,or send the document for signature" Clicking this button opens a pane on the right side with all of its options grayed out and the only thing that can be used is a link to the EchoSign website listed as Powered by Adobe EchoSign.
If this is going to be my client experience, I'm afraid that my client may not have nether the patience nor the time to figure out how to sign the contract. I hope that I have missed something obvious that makes signing really quick and effortless.
Your input will be greatly appreciated.
This is a link to the empty pdf file with only a signature field. Can anyone sign this document?
