Digitally sign in adobe reader

I have adobe reader and can't sign a document digitally. Can someone please assist me with this?

What happens when you try to sign a document? Do you receive an error? What version of Reader are you using, and what operating system are you on? Does the problem occur with a particular PDF, or any PDF that you try to sign?

Hi,
2 things:
1. Assuming your script is original - it is not asking for a TXT file till it is found in expected location. You can choose between 2 solutions:
to remove FindChangeList.txt from FindChangeSupport folder ==> script will ask for another file
to override this file by your query ==> script will not ask but execute your query
2. You can see greyed TXT files in Script Panel since this panel shows executable files (script's formats)

Digital Signature in Adobe Reader

Hi!
I saved my MS Excel file into PDF and try to add digital signature to the PDF , but failed.
Can we do digital signing with Adobe Reader ? I tried and all of the "Work with Certificates" fields was grayed out (not clickable).
I am using Adobe Reader XI.
Appreciate your advice.

You need to apply a specific right to the file first in Acrobat.

Electronic Signatures (that are legally enforceable)
Signature annotations (hand-writing annotations which may not be secure and legally enforceable)
Adobe Reader XI (traditional desktop app with classic UI) supports #1 and #3.
Adobe EchoSign supports #2.
Adobe Reader for iOS/Android supports #3.

I have signed into adobe reader and I am trying to convert a PDF to a word document. All I get every time is, "An error occurred while trying to access the service" My account is active and paid for. Please help me with this. I have tried a number of different documents. I pay to use this service!

Problem creating PKCS# 12 Digital Signature in Adobe Reader X - where do I confirm the Password?

I cannot create a PKCS# 12 Digital Signature in Adobe Reader X. It says the passwords don't match when I create it. The problem is, I never was asked to confirm the P/W when I created it. It asked once for the P/W and then the only thing I can do is click "Finish" and then it says my P/W don't match. I am able to create a DS on my other computer using Reader 9 (and it did ask me to confirm the P/W when creating). I have re-booted my computer and still it will not work.

You'll need to ask in the Acrobat Pro forum. There are people there with expertise who can answer this. I use Acrobat myself, but I'm a novice when it comes to signature settings.

I'm sorry for the issues you're having.
So it sounds like you're trying to sign into Adobe Reader X's right-side Tools Pane with your Adobe ID ([email protected]), yet you're seeing an error message. Is that the issue? What does the error message say? Can you try signing out from Reader, closing Reader, and then re-opening Reader and signing back in? Does the error mesage still appear?
Also, what Reader version and operating system (Mac, Win) are you using?

Same problem here using Preview: "The file 'Digital Booklet - Songs of Innocence.pdf' could not be opened. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognize." Was also unable to open the file in Acrobat with similar. The file is corrupt.

Adobe Reader won't ask you to sign in for updates. Most likely, this is just the normal adminstrator password prompt you get when installing or updating software, and you use your computer's own password.

When I try to print documents, the reader 10 user agreement comes on, with the accept below the taskbar. It does not respond when the cursor is over it.

Are you doing this in the web browser? If so, have you ever launched Adobe Reader as a standalone application? If so, then you should have had the opportunity to accept the EULA.

Using iText to generate a digital signature that can be signed in Adobe Reader

I am able to create a digital signature in a pdf using iText. Adobe Reader does not allow that digital signature to be signed. Everything I have been reading suggests that I need to enabe Reader Usage Rights, but that requires using Adobe Pro. I was hoping that I would only need Adobe Reader inorder to digitally sign the pdf, is that possible?

So i created an adobe form with acrobat 9 and sent it out for all to digitally sign. about half are getting an error when they try to sign it. "The credential selected for signature is invalid"
We are a government agency and use Common Access Cards (CAC) certificates to digitally sign with.
i was hoping someone out there could either point me to a good recource for adobe and digital signatures or to a possible fix.
now we have narrowed it down to the problem being with the specific machine. the user can digitally sign the document on another machine, but not on thier own machine. Also, no one else can sign the doc on thier machine either.

issue still exists. ive been searching for some info on how adobe handles digital signatures, like what folders are created on the machine. im thinking maybe i can clear out the app data for acrobat or something. im at a loss at the moment.

I am trying to use adobe reader 8 to make a digital signature on a pdf document but I run into an error code when I try to sign and save the document. It comes up saying: platform encyption
keyset does not exist
error code: 2148073494

What I found is that the document first has to have usage rights enabled in Acrobat Pro 8 or 9, then you can use Reader 8 or 9 to sign the document.

Question from worse than Newbie about digital signatures and Adobe Reader.

1st, thanks for taking the time to even look. 2nd, We are trying to use digital signature pads with PDF documents created by Documaker 11.4. In Adobe Pro there is a setting "Extend features in Adobe Reader" that will allow users with Adobe Reader to sign the PDF documents, however our "guy" creating the forms cannot find anything like this in Documaker. I've never used Documaker before and dont have a copy to even play with, but I was hoping there was a simple "go here, click this" answer.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not expert on Documaker, but I'm close to them and will try to find an answer if I can be sure of the question.
Documaker is capable of creating PDF signature markers in the output PDF. Those markers are compatible with tools like Acrobat which can sign the documents. Is your question about how to create the markers or are you doing that and finding that Acrobat Reader will not allow you to sign them?
I'd have to research Adobe's licensing for Acrobat and Reader to see if that was the issue. I know certain features in Acrobat Reader are locked down by Adobe so you have to have another product license from them to enable the feature. If that is the problem, then I'm pretty sure that Documaker has no mechanism to provide a license token to specifically enable the Acrobat Reader product.
If you can provide more specifics, I'll try to follow up. You may also contact Customer Support, if you haven't already and open a case there requesting a specific question be answered.
