Digitally Signing a Document

Hi!
I'm trying to follow the examples in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/18/6197044da2a745a4d588da33e0facf/frameset.htm
but when i try to build the project most types are not resolved(ex. KeystoreManager, ISsfData...)
I've tried adding the external jar <b>iaik_jce.jar</b> but it still doesn't work.
Any ideias on how to use the objects mencioned above?

Hi Pedro,
You need to add the keystore_api.jar and tc_sec_ssf.jar to the project build path. That should fix the build errors.
Note that before deployment you'll also have to set runtime references to the corresponding interface and library in the EAR deployment descriptor.

Yonko

  • In Acrobat XI, how can we have more than 2 people digitally sign a document or template?.

The document is a PDF template with 2 signature fields for approval. When the first person digital signs the document it shows the GREEN tick that it's signed and all signatures are valid. Then it gets emailed for the second person to digitally sign and ofcourse, the document becomes invalid. (We don't want to use the echoSign cloud service and there is no Acrobat server setup). Can someone share the light please?

A PDF Form Template will try an execute an action to create a new page based on the template page.  This action will break the first signature because it changes the document by adding a new page after it has been signed.  Is it imperative that the document be a PDF Form Template?   If all that is called for is two signatures then create the document with two signature fields and without it being a PDF Form Template.

  • I need to digital sign a document using Acrobat Reader. Is it possibile?

I am an IT Manager for a little city in northern italy.
I have almost 50 clients with smart cards enabled for what concerns digital signage.
I use flawlessy the software of the firm who provides the smart card. (infocamere.it).
This uses sha256 crypt, no problems about it.
    The problem I have is:
The final file is a "p7m" envelope.
I would prefer to use a "pdf" envelope. One only file.
I tried to follow this video
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-x/how-to-digitally-sign-a-document-with-adobe-reader/
    Simply it doesn't work.
I have also a couple of Acrobat Standard.
    I can "pdf-sign" with Acrobat Standard 9.
I am not able to do the same with reader 9 or X.
There is a way to do it?
    Thank You.

You can sign a PDF using Adobe Reader 9 or X, but the document must be "Reader Extended" to enable this functionality, This can be done using ADEP\LiveCycle Reader Extensions (server product) or Acrobat Professional 9 (Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader) or Acrobat X Professional (File > Save As > Reader extended PDF)
For some more info...  http://www.adobe.com/eeurope/products/server/readerextensions/  or http://help.adobe.com/en_US/enterpriseplatform/10.0/Overview/WS92d06802c76abadb2c8525912dd cb9aad9-7ffa.html

  • Digitally signing pdf documents

We want to digitally sign pdf documents that are generated in the printing service / AS. (rwclient is used on the client machines to access the printing service.)
The digital sign should be on all generated pdf documents, with no intervention by the end users. The digital sign should hence be on behalf on the organisation, not the individual user issuing the pdf dokument.
In addition we would like to lock the pdf documents in order på prevent manipulation of the content.
Any surgestions on how to achieve this?

    Hello,
You can create your own destination .
An example is available on OTN :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/pluginxchange/index.html
    Secure PDF Destination
This destination creates a secure PDF that is password-protected. This sample is tested with Oracle Reports 9i, Oracle Reports 10g (9.0.4), and Oracle Reports 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).

  • Can IXOS (OPENTEXT) handle digitally signed PDF documents

    Hi All,
we have requirement where we want to store digitally signed PDF documents in IXOS (OPENTEXT) server and view them using IXOS viewer.  I have tried to save one digitally sighed PDF but it was also password protected and I was not able to open it with the IXOS live link opener.
Request you to share your experience or views on this.
    Thanks a lot.
    Best regards,

    hi,
yes IXOS handlesDigitaly signed PDF documents,
    http://opentext.com/download/livelinkdownload.html?path=/corporate/investor/secfiling/FY2005Q4_10K.pdf
    Please refere tihis doc..
The repository supports queries based on metadata, full-text index and even a combination
of both. Another option is to render document content to a long-term format like TIFF or PDF.  Using
digital signatures (time stamps) it can be assured that content cannot be modified without recognition.
Hence clearly say's retrival or access doc need to enter digital signature which are preconfigured during DOC creation phase.

  • Is it possible to digitally sign a document in reader for iOS?

We sign documents using adobe reader 9.3 &amp; std/pro 9.2 0. Can we create a digital signature and sign documents?

    Steve,
    Thanks for your reply.
I did not think it was possible as yet.  We have many engineers and Pilots
that wanted to use their iPads to sign documents.  This would eliminate the
need to go back to their PC.
I don't expect this feature to be too far in the future.
    Again thanks,

  • How to digitally sign PDF document in VB?

    Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to open a PDF file and digitally sign the document (with the electronic signature info showing on the bottom of the last page) programatically?
    Thanks

    > (1) When I download the SDK, it only has a setup file which I launch - I don't see any documentation in there and no menu item is created.
Where did you download the SDK?
    > (2) When I go to the livedocs.abobe.com link and look how to use Javascript to digitally sign documents, the link is blank and is waiting for someone to post a comment.
May be a problem of your browser.
    > Does someone know of a VB code that allows you to digitally sign the PDF documents via Javascript?
Look at the JavaScript sample AddSignature in the SDK.

  • How to digitally sign PDF document in VC?

    Hi all,
i want know how to open a PDF file and digitally sign the document programatically in vc?
    Thanks

Do you mean a tool other than Adobe Acrobat or Reader?  Since this is the Acrobat SDK, your users would already have Acrobat installed and can sign PDFs just fine.
What would you be adding to that?

    Hi 2014 nurse pracitioner,
Let's see what we can figure out! What happens when you try to sign your documents? Are you receiving an error message when you try to sign? When you open a file in Reader, do you see Sign in the upper-right corner, as shown below:
I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Digitally signed word documents don't arrive in the emails

    Hello
one of our client running the following server
    Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-6.01 (built Dec 5 2007; 32bit)
    libimta.so 6.3-6.01 (built 15:06:35, Dec 5 2007; 32bit)
    SunOS jesmail 5.10 Generic_125101-09 i86pc i386 i86pc
the problem is that when users send a word document that has been digitally signed with a electronic identity card (Belgian Eid), the attachement are filtered and don't arrive the destination.
are there some bugs or limitations concerning this issue or it's not messaging server related.
any hints you can give will be greatly appreciated
    kind regards
    Mario G.

I would say to trace the message via the mail.log_current and see when the attachment disappeared. This is something you could cause to happen with the Messaging Server MTA, but it is not something that would happen with a normal/default configuration. So either they have configured it to do this or perhaps there is some other MTA or device involved??

    Hello there,
We are not aware of a program that can digitally sign StarOffice&#91;TM&#93; files. You might want to ask the company that is compatible with MS Office files to see if its program can also integrate with StarOffice&#91;TM&#93;.

I received a PDF that requires my signature.  I have Reader XI.  An error message comes up at the top when I open the document 'at least 1 signature has problems'.  I cannot then click on a box to enter my info.
I tried validating other signatures on the doc but no luck still.

  • How can my end user password-protect a document that has been digitally signed?

    Hello,
I have seen some threads that indirectly address parts of this question, but am still left unsure about whether this process can be done - and if it can, I could use your help in understanding it - thank you.
Two of our end users use digital signatures (certificate-based) in Acrobat 9 Pro to sign documents attesting the accuracy & calibration status of lab equipment for use in a legal environment.  These end users are concerned that their documents could be altered or edited, and asked me if password protection can also be applied to their documents that need to be digitally signed.
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Do you apply "Open" password or "Permissions" password or both? If you apply "Permissions" password (with or without the "Open" password) make sure that "Changes Allowed" include Filling in form fields and signing existing signature fields" or "Commenting, filling in form fields and signing existing signature fields". If permissions do not allow you to sign, you cannot sign.
Be aware of the alert that Acrobat pops up when you apply "Permissions" password that all Adobe products respect permissions that you set but that 3rd-party PDF Viewers may not (and many do not).
That is exactly what I was missing! I apply only "Permissions" password, but had the "Changes Allowed" drop-down set incorrectly - it was set to "None."  After changing that setting to allow "Filling in form fields and signing existing signature fields," the end user was able to digitally sign the document, her desired goal.
    Thank you so much.

  • How can I digitally sign a pdf document and also disallow changes to the document?

When I digitally sign the document it does not let me lock it down - when I lock down the doc first, it does not allow for digital signature. Please help.

The initial document should have its properties set as:
    Changing the Document: Not allowed
    Signing: Allowed
That way no one can make changes to it but anyone may sign it. These properties are available in v9, but I'm not sure about previous versions.

  • Can I digitally sign a SECURED document?

I have a user who has received a SECURED document. I have attached the document properties page. My user would like to digitally sign this document. But, when she/I try to sign the document, the Signature option is grayed out. Can SECURED documents be signed? I am able to sign other documents.

Just to clarify what George Johnson meant. First, before you secure your PDF you need to add unsigned signature field (one or more) at the places in the document where you want the signatures to appear. Then you secure your PDF. Tehn you can sign it in the already existing unsigned signature field. If you received secured PDF from someone else and it does not contain unsigned signature fields then you cannot sign it.
