Digitizer Cable trouble

Hello,
I received my new screen for my Ipad 1. Got everything apart having trouble plugging in the digitizer flex cable. Don't want to damage it.
Please help.
Joe

  • Optical Audio Cable Troubles

I recently purchased the the Panasonic G20 50" HDTV and the Panasonic blu-ray/reciever combo with surrond sound. I have the TV connected to the blu-ray player via the HDMI AV, I was told that I needed an optical audio cable to get surround sound from cable (Charter).  When i try to connect the optical cable, I can't get a connection as in the cable can literally fall out and there is not a "snap" when I try to insert the cable. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
oh by the way its not the $10 cable, they are monster cables.

    My two thoughts are:
    1)  You're inserting the cable in the wrong orientation and it's not going all the way in
    2)  The optical connector on the device in question is damaged/defective/loose.  Which device is the cable falling out of?  The surround receiver, the cable box, or both?
Personally, I'd recommend not wasting your money on Monster ever again by the way.  I've seen $4 TOSLINK cables that do just as well as the Monsters.

  • Usb vs firewire cable trouble wont load ipod

The cable I rec'd w/my 5g 30 ipod worked only if I jiggled it and occasionally updated it. I purchased a "replacement", which would only charge it. Finally, I contacted support and recently rec'd a replacemnt for the 30/6pin cable...it's a firewire usb and I'm not literate enough (!?) to install this w/o it saying its not supported. If I have the plugs, why cant this replace the other one? I need help, since I have to send the "bad" usb back to Apple asap, and possible the "new" one as well? Did I get the wrong part? I just want to update again!!! If Apple doesn't do firewire usb on the 5th gens, why did they send it to me to replace the broken cable? Soooo confused!

    You purchased the wrong cable.
The 5th Gen iPods do not support syncing via Firewire. You can only charge the iPod via a Firewire cable.
There is no such thing as a 'firewire usb cable', as you specify. Firewire and USB are two different things.
You need a USB-to-Dock Connector Cable. You don't want anything to do with Firewire at all.

Apple probably sent what you asked for. Since you mentioned Firewire... they sent you a Firewire cable. You shouldn't have said anything about Firewire.
This is the cable you need:

  • USB cable trouble

I'm out of the country, and my iPhone USB wire that I use to connect to the wall adapter and my laptop doesn't charge my phone or even recognize that it's attached.
Is the wire busted? or is my iPhone not working-- both, to the eye, are in perfectly good shape.

    Hello Ed.
So when using the AC Adapter - USB Cable - Dock you can not get a charge?
or AC Adapter - USB Cable - iPhone you can not get a charge?
Have you tried to charge it on a computer?
It is hard to say what part it is without more testing. And sadly if you needed a replacement you need to be in a country that offers iPhones. As they may carry the spare parts.

  • After-market charging cable troubles.

I recently purchased an  after-market charging cable for an older generation ipod touch. It charges just fine, but iTunes wont seem to recognize the fact that my ipod is linked to the computer...So, my question is does anyone know why this might be happening. I recently reset my ipod touch and need to connect it to itunes to be able to use it. A quick response would be very much appreciated.

make sure the ipod service is started in

  • Lightning cable trouble

My ipad has suddenly shown me a message that my original lightning cable is not certified and refused to charge my device, 2 hours ago I used it to download a film on it from my computer, what's the problem?

I think restoration won't help because I tried it with my iphone and saw the same message on display, luckily I have 2 cables, the second one is operating well, but what happened to the first one ? No one had the same problem before as I understand, I found nothing about it on internet

  • Satellite C55T Digitizer Crack

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55T-A5222 and the digitizer has been cracked/busted pretty good. With the cracked digitzier the computer will not let you move the mouse or type on the keyboard, I'm assuming it is hung up because of the cracked screen and thinks your continuously touching the screen so it is keeping the unit busy and will not allow any other input actions via mouse or keyboard, could be wrong on that but that is my guess. Well the repair is high so i figured I would take the digitizer off completely and just use it as a regular unit. I removed the glass and put the plastic part back on and it boots back up but still no actions can be done via mouse and keyboard. So I took it back part and unplugged the digitizer cable that connects to the motherboard and back on and still i can't use mouse or keyboard. Is there anyway to work around this so i can use the unit and completely disable the motherboard from seeking for this is digitizer technology or is it one of them things where it was made to not work without? Seems like you should be able to remove it somehow. Any comments? Anyone already done or tried this? Thanks
    Solved!

    your support site is here
so your asking if you can replace the touch screen with a regular non-touch screen and have the computer work without the touch screen feature?  I would think so but I have no experience with this so I'm going to let others chime in with their input.

  • IPad 2 digitizer replacement problem. Maybe?

Help people. I was replacing an iPad 2 digitizer but during taking it off I tore the power button flex cable so we went ahead and ordered that probably be here tomorrow or Wednesday. Well anyway I decided I'd clean the iPad all up and find how I'd tuck the digitizer cable under the LCD screen. Anyway while doing that there's this little piece with 2 holes that is like a little tab sticking off the digitizer cable. That tore off of the digitizer. I don't know if that part is important or just there or what but can someone please tell me what that little piece is for? This is the 4th iPad I've fixed and never had either of the problems I had with this one. Please tell me what that part does or if its important. I couldn't test the digitizer because no power button flex cable and I don't feel comfortable turning on the iPad with something unplugged from it. I can still plug in the digitizer but this is just a little piece that sticks off from it.

  • Use Palm Desktop 4.1.4 to sync Palm Vx to Clie

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong group/forum.  It seems to fit better than Software for the mobile PDA device.  If I am wrong, I am open to suggestions as to a more appropriate forum.
I ran into the wonky digitizer problem that seems to afflict Palms, for which there are plenty of short-term software fixes, but for which the long term fix is to reseat the digitizer cable:
    http://www.directfix.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=GHT&Category_Code=_P5TAKE
The procedure looks positively barbaric.  Frankly, it looks like the Palm Vx was not designed for ease of home tinkering.  I decided that it was time to change PDAs (or move to a smartphone -- however, data plans in my 'hood are a gouger).  Fortunately, I was able to inherit a retired Clie PEG-T665C from a colleague.  It is much bigger than the Vx, but seemed much more straightforward to disassemble for the purposes of reseating the cable; for one thing, it seems to have a screw holding it together rather than glue all the way around.  Another impetus to move away from Vx to Clie is that the graffiti area of the Vx is getting very scuffed, and stylus motions are not registering well at all.  Not good for the blood pressure.
The only unknown was the migration of data from Vx to the Clie.  This "problem" was simplified by the fact that my usage of the Vx was extremely simple: Datebook, Addressbook, and Memopad.  Absolutely nothing more.  For my purposes, the Clie offers no feature advantages, so my switch is only for the ease of reseating the digitizer cable (if it is ever needed), and a more responsive graffiti area.  Since I wasn't using any of the Clie-specific features, I crossed my fingers and hoped that I didn't need to track down Palm Desktop for the Clie; it doesn't seem to be easy to locate, and I don't want to explore the wonderful world of having two Palm Desktop apps on my PC.
Instead, I put the Clie in its cradle, connected it to the USB, and sync'd (sunk?) it to Desktop 4.1.4 that I was using for the Vx.  I noted that the Vx differed in that its cradle used the serial port, though it is quite possible that this not a significant difference.  In sycing the Clie, I was asked by Palm Desktop to create a 2nd user, which I was sure to name differently from the Vx user; the Clie manual said that having two devices with the same name was a recipe for unpredictable results.  After creating 2nd user, I copied the *.dat and *.bak files for Addressbook, Datebook, and Memopad from the Vx user directory to the Clie user directory.  (I had to be logged into Palm Desktop as the Vx user for this to work).  This seemed to migrate the Vx entries to the Clie user, and sync'ing caused the entries to transfer to the Clie itself.
The only hiccup is that the first time sync'ing after copying the files yielded error messages that not all files got copied, though I'm not sure if that was from the Clie to the Clie user account on Palm Desktop, or vice-versa.  The 2nd time I sunk, I didn't get the error messages.  However, if there were a few dropped records, I probably wouldn't notice it from eyeballing the PDA.  So I'm not sure how confident I should be.  My uncertainly gives rise to three questions.
    1. Is there any reason why I should worry about using generic Palm Desktop with the Clie, rather than *the* "Palm Desktop for the Clie" (i.e. Sony's Palm Desktop made specifically for the Clie)?
    2. What is an efficient way to check that all records match between the Clie and the Vx?
    3. Since I am unsure how much to trust the fidelity of the data on the Clie (with respect to the Vx), I would like to use both for some duraton.  Is there a way to use one Palm Desktop account for both devices without incurring the risk of "unpredicitable outcomes" that the Clie manual warns about?  Using one account sure beats copying files between the two accounts.  Copying files between two independent accounts also creates the real risk of having changes occur on both accounts -- I'm not sure how I'd reconcile that (if I was lucky enough to even notice that it happened).
I should also add that both the Vx and the Clie had Palm OS 4.1, though I'm not sure that makes any difference in easing migration and synchronization on the PC side of things.
    Post relates to: Palm Vx

Actually, I just used unix commands to compare addressbook and memopad csv files from the Palm Desktop accounts for the Vx and the Clie. This convinces me that addressbook and memopad got properly migrated from Vx to Clie.  Unfortunately, exporting to csv is not an option for the datebook app, and the dba files contain differences in the nontext characters between the Vx and the Clie.  Is there a way to compare datebooks?
    Thanks.

  • Why does Home Sharing require an active internet connection?

I have noticed when my internet goes down I have real difficulty streaming content to my Apple TV from my iMac. I can see it but I get stuck on the spinning clock. Some audio works OK but video not. This makes no sense. I shouldn't need any internet to access content on a local device.
It seems to be by design, per Troubleshooting Home Sharing (n.4) "Home Sharing requires a home network with an active Internet connection."
But why can I play music but not TV shows? And why is there not an error message instead of spin? In any case why require it at all? I reset the home wireless, and the modem. My ISP confirmed there was cable trouble at that time. When the internet went back up, home sharing worked.

Thanks for the many many replies, Apple User Community. Apple seems to have removed this requirement with the latest software update (7.0.1) for the Apple TV .

  • Bottom half of screen not working, need to turn airplane mode on

3gs Bottom half of screen no longers works, or at least the bar at the bottom so cant unlock the phone .. i suspect that part of the screen doesnt work anymore, tried reset etc. i can play etc via voice control but i need to catch a 7hr flight later today .. any suggestions on how i could unlock, so i can get to the settings .. doesnt seem to be a voice control to unlock ... doesnt seem to be any control in itunes to amend setting .. must be something i can do!

Your digitizer is not functioning correctly. This is the only way I know to slide the unlock bar. The digitizer is built as part of the Glass Front Screen and detects your finger movement. Take iPhone to Apple and they can try to Reseat Flex Cable # 2 the digitizer cable if it is just loose at the connector and not broken. Possibly repair under Warranty if you still have Warranty Coverage. Otherwise you will need a new Front Screen with Digitizer for 3GS. Before opening a 3GS make sure it is OFF, and keep it OFF during any repair.

  • Why wont my iphone 4 unlock ?

i changed the screen on my iphone and it turns on but will not swipe to unlock i already completly reset it idk what to do

Digitizer cable connector is loose and needs to be pressed down correctly to logic board, or digitizer cable was damaged during replacement, or digitizer was faulty to begin with.

  • WAE standby group and L2 redirection mask-assignment not compatible?

I have a WAE-674 connected to two 6509 switches (sup720). The two WAE ports are in a standby group. I'm also using WCCP L2 redirection from 6509 to the WAE, but I remember in older WAAS software, WAE standby group was not compatible with L2 redirection mask-assignment. Only hash could be used.
Is it still the same with the newer 4.2.1 software? I couldn't find specifics in its documentations.
    Thanks
    Gary

    Hi Gary,
I believe you are talking about this defect: CSCso66693
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?caller=pluginredirector&method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCso66693
Now, Standby interface does work with L2 Masking.
    Details about virtual standby interface:
The virtual standby interface uses the MAC address of the active interface. Standby interfaces remain unused unless an active interface fails. When an active network interface fails (because of cable trouble, Layer 2 switch failure, or other failure), and that interface is part of a standby group, a standby interface can start to carry traffic and take the load off the failed interface. With standby interface configuration, only one interface is in use at a given time.
CLI command: show interface standby 1
Please note that VB interface bridging is not supported when you are using  standby interface feature.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • HT201210 iPod G4 won't start

Got it for free, now I know why.
Would like to fix it to add to my collection of Apple products.
Black screen and no response to on-off button.
Pluged in to charger, same, nothing.
Pluged in to Windows - iTunes, tries to restore but fails, error code 2009 (2006 with the Mac).
    Any suggestions welcome.

Actually the digitizer screen and the plastic bezel snap into place.  The screen is glued to the bezel.  To get the digitizer asssembly (that is the proper name) out you have to insert  "special" tools between the plastic bezel and the metal case and unlock some tabs.  Then you can lift the whole thing out.  There are numerous How-To guides on the 'Net, several of which are multi-media....
With the excpetion of the digitizer cable, the electrical connections are locking friction connectors and ribbon cables.  The cable for the digitizer is rather wimpy, so caution is advised.  The cable is at the top of the assembly so you must lift the digitizer from the Home button end...  The connecton is a plug and socket arrangement, and because the cable is rather short, reconnecting can be a little tedious...
Of special not is the digitizer glass.  It is VERY fragile, and when it breaks it makes lots of small sharp pieces....
Also notworthy is the battery is held in place with some very thin double-sided tape.  If you get that far some prying will be required....
Finally, most replacement parts are fairly inexpensive.  At last check a battery averaged $9.00, a new digitizer was around $12.00, and a headphone jack was under $10.00...
FWIW,  I have successfully revived a 2nd gen Touch, a 5th Gen Ipod Video, and a 30gig Zune....  I have one more 5th Gen Video that needs some help, but I'm in no hurry.....
