Digitizer problem

My Iphone6 is unstable. I am having issues with the digitizer touch screen. I touch one section and it opens up another. Also starting to have issues entering my 4 digit code because when I touch the keyboard it goes to different buttons and not the one I touch.  I did a hard reset and software upgrade and still have the issue.

Mmm just got it replaced. Second phone I get. Sure it is hardware? In the past it was setting the digitizer to adjust to lighting.

  • Tungsten T digitizer problem

Every time I open my Tungsten T, the digitizer is off and I have to recalibrate. Will AutoDigi 5 help, or is it like Digifix, only working after a soft reset?
    Post relates to: Tungsten T

Welcome to the Forum. There some things you can try , I will start with the easy one.
If you have a screen protector that may be what is causing the problem. I have read posts that removing the screen protector and cleaning the rim of the screen with a piece of plain copy paper can solve some screen problems. Residue from the screen protector, dust, or grit can build up and cause a false tap. Also an air bubble under the screen protector can cause a false tap. Test the screen, if its works okay, put a new screen protector on, making sure you don't have any bubbles.
If that doesn't help, recently, five or six members have reported success with file called Power Digiv 2, which they downloaded at www.palmpowerups.com . You don't have to click "Buy", you can download the trial version to your computer and install, and then the next time you Hotsync your digitizer problem will be fixed. They say it is amazing. One Forum member was so impressed that he went ahead and purchased it for $16.95, incase his digitizer went out again and said it was well worth it. When you are at the palmpowerups site click the word "Download" under the third button that PowerDiGi. (Others who may read this please note it does not work on Treos, Power DiGi only works with screen resolutions of 320 X 480.)
If that doesn't help, it means your touch screen/digitizer is going out and problem will get to the point that bottom of the screen (Status Bar and keyboard) won't respond to the stylus and writing in note pad just makes scribbles all over the screen. You can get replacements at www.usedpdaparts.com and for $10.00 they will install it. You also get replacements at www.pdaparts.com and they have directions and videos for installing them yourself.
I had the touch screen/digitizer replaced in one of my T3's, but I didn't know about PowerDiGi back then. Next time, I am going to try it. Best of luck and let us know how you do.

  • Multichannel stream to disk high speed digitizer problem

    Hi,
I'm trying to write a code for managing a PXI-5105 high speed digitizer as a multichannel data streamer to disk.
I found the code example on niscope folder (version 3.0) for a single channel datastreaming that works fine. I tried to modify this code,
according to directions included into the code for multichannel acquisition, but it fails. I wrote to NI support and they confirm that my code has to work.
For clarifying better my question, I include my code.
I'm a quite new labview user, I know that my code is not easy to read, but I hope that someone has already encountered my problem and may help me.
    Best regards

    Hi Matthieu,
thanks for your attention to my problem.
The program runs, but it dispays only the first acquisition (first loop), and after there are no data acquired.
Using the single channel mode it works fine, you see a continuous acquisition on display and on disk.
I'm suspecting that there is a problem in the loop where I acquire fresh data (Using the lamp I haven't any data from the Niscope I-16 multichannel block, except for the first run where I get the first data).
I hope this clarify better the situation.
    Best regards

  • Skipping Timecode/Batch Digitize problem

This just started to happen to me. I do a batch and it self aborts because the timecode is not continious. The tapes are good, the playback gear is good, the FCP software randomly selects areas and "skips". Only recently when I digitize using "uncontrollable device" it digests the video.
Before it would'nt even take that input.
I've been batch capturing without an issue the past six months. Only recently have I been experimenting with XDcam HD, and P2 HD fomats for an upcoming project. It started acting up after I started to take in the P2 HD material.
Could this have corrupted something in FCP? I trouble shot it by sourceing different cameras, cables, tapes... so it's random.
    Anyone familiar with this problem?
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

So I finally did what you suggested.
I sourced a tape shot a couple of months ago
and I can digitize them fine. Then I shot some broll with the zr600 and attempted to batch digitize it and alas.... it did'nt work. It skipped at different intervals through out the clip. That coupled with my succesful batch using a dvx100 last week makes me want to conclude I have issues with my cheap-o ZR600.
It's still a little sketchy though... why did the old footage playback well, and why does the TC on the newer footage shot on the XHA1 skip when played through the ZR600?
    What do you think??

  • Droid 855 possible digitizer problem

So my phone is now possessed.  The screen is either unresponsive to touch or the browser uncontrollably goes off to random sites when the screen is not being touched.  I have seen advice on this forum to buy a replacement digitizer, and they are available on Amazon for about $18.
HOWEVER.  I am going out of town for a week, in two days.  It's after 5 pm on Thursday.  There's no way to order this part and receive it in time to install it.  I really need a working phone during this trip.
Does anyone know if you can pick up this part at a Verizon store?  Or a Radio Shack or something?
Can you get expedited repairs at a Verizon store?  Do they offer emergency loaners?
Verizon employees/moderators - i've had this phone about a year and a half; can i get a break on a new-every-two?  I've been eyeing the Bionic anyway.

  • Lumia 900 digitizer problem

I have a lumia 900, I bought it like a month ago while still having wp7.5 installed, now I have like 2 weeks since I update it to wp7.8, so the problem relies with the touchscreen, because I didn't notice it before but since I have wp7.8 while I am using the phone with the screen turned on for a while, like watching movies or web browsing it gaming, the screen starts to detect random touch inputs, just like if i were touching repeatedly, but I'm not. So I was wondering if someone have the same issue because I doesn't happens always, is kind of erratic... Could it be hardware or software problem???

If you use the phone with headphones attached does the problem stop?
If so they your phone has a hardware issue that occurs when loud sounds are played through the loudspeaker. You should take it to the retailer or a Nokia care point.

  • Sync and Digitizer problems

I moved a year ago and thought I had all my palms (Palm IIIC, Palm Vx and m500) plugged in for power. Recently I discovered my Vx power cord had come undone and it lost power.  After getting the power cord plugged back into the serial cable and power to it I tried to sync but when it comes back up it wants me to hit a reset on a small screen.  After that the "Preferences" screen comes up, but the touch screen is off by about 1/4 inch.  I cannot get to the digitizer screen to realign it.
When I hard reset the unit it is fine, but after syncing it is screwed up.
    Any suggestions most wlecomed.
Palm did spend some time with me, but to no avail.

It sounds like there is a setting that is causing this issue. This should resolve the issue:
To fix this what we need to do is hard reset your device. The instructions to do that is here http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/887_en.html this tells you how to do all types of resets. Also, what we need to do is rename your backup folder. What this folder is, it hold all your programs from the last time you synced your PC. On your computer go here
    Palm Desktop 4.2 and below
    My Computer--> C drive --> Program files --> Palm/PalmOne--> your hotsync username
    Palm Desktop 6.2.2
My Documents/Documents --> Palm OS Desktop --> your hotsync username
Right click on your backup folder and rename it to "backupOld". Resync your device to the same user name and you will get all your contacts, calendar, tasks, and memos.
You can install the programs again but make sure they are compatible with the device. Also try one program again and wait 24 hours to see if the same thing happens again. This way you know what program is causing the issue.

  • My 2nd generation iPod nano screen is showing lines and I cannot see the whole menu. How can I fix this problem?

I believe that my wife disconnected the iPod nano (2nd Gen.) improperly and now the screen has a whole bunch of lines. I can see the screens moving when I move to the next screen. But it's just lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well unfortunatley your warranty is over so the device is not covered,  BUT sounds like you have interupting signals being sent from a stuck home button constantly being pressed and maybe even a digitizer problem (the touch screen).  You can try to restore your ipod to your computer to see if it might be some kind of software related issue.  Just restore to the last sync you have on iTunes.  But FIRST...I would try to Reset your ipod.
Go to Settings>General>Reset> Reset all settings.

  • TX 1st Startup Problem

I just purchased a new TX today and went though the charge time required (I did not hook it up to the PC yet since I am also using an old Zire).  When I power up the unit, it takes me to the touchscreen calibration steps - over and over and over again.  It will not leave this process.  It recognizes the stylus imput but it won't finish.
I have tried a soft and hard restart but still the same issue.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Is this a constant problem with the TX? Like I said before, I am using an old... zire M150 and have never had a screen problem.
It is doubtful that it is a "constant" problem with the TX, particularly since yours was bad out of the box.  You just got a faulty one.
There do seem to be a lot of threads about digitizer problems with the TX, though.  Impossible to say how prevalent the issue is, though both of my TXes had troubled digitizers...repaired/replaced several times until I just got fed up and installed replacement glass digitizers myself at my own expense even while they were still under warranty.
The nature of forums like these is that you will see a disproportionate number of posts from people with a problem, rather than from people whose devices are working fine.

  • Pam TX's Digitizer...

I've been wanting to purchase a Palm TX, but I recently became aware of an issue some TX users have with the digitizer.  Are these isolated events OR should this be reason enough for me to stay with my Tungsten E and NOT purchase the TX?
OR should I just use the Tungsten E2 that my wife will give me (free) once she gets a Palm phone?
    What are your thoughts?
    Post relates to: Tungsten E

These are isolated incidents.  I own two TX's (one is almost 3 years old) and neither has shown this problem.  I do take very good care of them, have always used screen protectors, and keep them in a Hard Case.  Whether digitizer problems arise from rough usage is open for debate...
It may seem like there are a lot of them, but remember - data on any forum website is often skewed.  Only the ones who have incurred this problem have a reason to come here and ask for a solution.  The hundreds of thousands who have no problems will not chime in here and announce, "Hey!  My device works fine, and has done so for 3 years!"
A new TX comes with a one-year warranty.  If digitizer problems arise, send it back!

  • My Iphone 4 has a section of the screen not responding to touch - it's where i have to enter my pincode so won't unlock - what can I do?

Hi I have a strip across the middle of my Iphone 4 screen that is not repsonding to touch at all.  One minute it was working the next it wasn't.  It's right across where I need to input my pincode to unlock, so I can;t do anything with the phone at all. I've tried soft resetting it etc but no joy.  What else can I do - phone is only 6 or 7 weeks old

well recomend to see if ur iPhone is under warranty.. but sounds like a hareware issue! you can try it but i dont think it would work but to see if its a software issue put device it Recover mode or known has DFU mode an force restore (you will lose all content on the iPhone) an install 6.1.3 fresh on it but to me sounds like a LCD & Digitizer problem might need a new Assembly...

  • Use Palm Desktop 4.1.4 to sync Palm Vx to Clie

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong group/forum.  It seems to fit better than Software for the mobile PDA device.  If I am wrong, I am open to suggestions as to a more appropriate forum.
I ran into the wonky digitizer problem that seems to afflict Palms, for which there are plenty of short-term software fixes, but for which the long term fix is to reseat the digitizer cable:
    http://www.directfix.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=GHT&Category_Code=_P5TAKE
The procedure looks positively barbaric.  Frankly, it looks like the Palm Vx was not designed for ease of home tinkering.  I decided that it was time to change PDAs (or move to a smartphone -- however, data plans in my 'hood are a gouger).  Fortunately, I was able to inherit a retired Clie PEG-T665C from a colleague.  It is much bigger than the Vx, but seemed much more straightforward to disassemble for the purposes of reseating the cable; for one thing, it seems to have a screw holding it together rather than glue all the way around.  Another impetus to move away from Vx to Clie is that the graffiti area of the Vx is getting very scuffed, and stylus motions are not registering well at all.  Not good for the blood pressure.
The only unknown was the migration of data from Vx to the Clie.  This "problem" was simplified by the fact that my usage of the Vx was extremely simple: Datebook, Addressbook, and Memopad.  Absolutely nothing more.  For my purposes, the Clie offers no feature advantages, so my switch is only for the ease of reseating the digitizer cable (if it is ever needed), and a more responsive graffiti area.  Since I wasn't using any of the Clie-specific features, I crossed my fingers and hoped that I didn't need to track down Palm Desktop for the Clie; it doesn't seem to be easy to locate, and I don't want to explore the wonderful world of having two Palm Desktop apps on my PC.
Instead, I put the Clie in its cradle, connected it to the USB, and sync'd (sunk?) it to Desktop 4.1.4 that I was using for the Vx.  I noted that the Vx differed in that its cradle used the serial port, though it is quite possible that this not a significant difference.  In sycing the Clie, I was asked by Palm Desktop to create a 2nd user, which I was sure to name differently from the Vx user; the Clie manual said that having two devices with the same name was a recipe for unpredictable results.  After creating 2nd user, I copied the *.dat and *.bak files for Addressbook, Datebook, and Memopad from the Vx user directory to the Clie user directory.  (I had to be logged into Palm Desktop as the Vx user for this to work).  This seemed to migrate the Vx entries to the Clie user, and sync'ing caused the entries to transfer to the Clie itself.
The only hiccup is that the first time sync'ing after copying the files yielded error messages that not all files got copied, though I'm not sure if that was from the Clie to the Clie user account on Palm Desktop, or vice-versa.  The 2nd time I sunk, I didn't get the error messages.  However, if there were a few dropped records, I probably wouldn't notice it from eyeballing the PDA.  So I'm not sure how confident I should be.  My uncertainly gives rise to three questions.
    1. Is there any reason why I should worry about using generic Palm Desktop with the Clie, rather than *the* "Palm Desktop for the Clie" (i.e. Sony's Palm Desktop made specifically for the Clie)?
    2. What is an efficient way to check that all records match between the Clie and the Vx?
    3. Since I am unsure how much to trust the fidelity of the data on the Clie (with respect to the Vx), I would like to use both for some duraton.  Is there a way to use one Palm Desktop account for both devices without incurring the risk of "unpredicitable outcomes" that the Clie manual warns about?  Using one account sure beats copying files between the two accounts.  Copying files between two independent accounts also creates the real risk of having changes occur on both accounts -- I'm not sure how I'd reconcile that (if I was lucky enough to even notice that it happened).
I should also add that both the Vx and the Clie had Palm OS 4.1, though I'm not sure that makes any difference in easing migration and synchronization on the PC side of things.
    Post relates to: Palm Vx

Actually, I just used unix commands to compare addressbook and memopad csv files from the Palm Desktop accounts for the Vx and the Clie. This convinces me that addressbook and memopad got properly migrated from Vx to Clie.  Unfortunately, exporting to csv is not an option for the datebook app, and the dba files contain differences in the nontext characters between the Vx and the Clie.  Is there a way to compare datebooks?
    Thanks.

  • Tapping to Align...

PALM T/X –  MAC OS 10.4   –   I recently started to have problems with the alignment of "Tapping" on the screen. I went to the alignment page and started to TAP to correct the problem. As I continued to TAP, it just kept requesting another TAP with no end in sight. Luckily my device was recently backed up because it got to the point that I had to do a HARD RESET. NOW THE PROBLEM.... when I restarted my palm, it goes directly to the TAPPING / ALIGNMENT window and I cant' get out of it.
(The instruction PDF that came with the Palm shows a "DONE" button at the bottom of the ALIGNMENT window, but my ALIGNMENT window doesn't have this button.)
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
Please refer to this lengthy thread stickied near the top of the Hardware board.  It discusses every possible fix or work-around for digitizer problems.
Note: if your TX is out of warranty (over one year old), you would be better-served to contact either www.pdaparts.com or www.usedpdaparts.com rather than Palm.  They can either replace your digitizer, or sell you one to do the job yourself, at a fraction of what Palm would charge you to either replace your digitizer with another potentially problematic one, or send you a refurbished device.
And, I am moving this thread to the Hardware board.

  • Screen wont work on the right side.

So, I've had some time with my phone, alot of damage has been done screen-wise (cracks, glass peeling, ect.) , and even some hardware is showing, but it still functioned properly. About thirty minutes ago, I set the phone down, and when I picked it back up, the right side of the screen is not working, and the resolution has been reverted back to what the 3rd gen would have. I can not unlock my phone, due to the fact that part of my passcode resides in the right side of my screen, but when I go to restore my phone through iTunes, it tells me I need to go to the settings on my iphone and turn off "Find My Phone". This would be no problem if I could unlock my phone, but I can't, and now I'm stuck and I don't know what to do. Please help.
Also, I've already planned on getting a new phone at the beginning of next month, the iPhone 5s to be exact, but I need this phone to last up till the current month ending.

This is a digitizer problem. Restore the iPhone with iTunes on computer. After the Restore see if fixed. If still problem and if there is Warranty or AppleCare take to Apple for replacement iPhone 4S. If no Coverage, Replacement iPhone 4S is $199.
