Digitizer replacement

How does apple charge to replace broken digitizer?  Had mine one day and dropped it

Apple does not repair iPhones, they replace them. If you didn't purchase AppleCare+ with your phone, a replacement will cost $229.

My iPhone 4 just had the screen/digitizer replaced after being dropped. It won't turn on now but it will vibrate every few minutes when plugged into the charger.. Any suggestions on how to fix it or what it could be? Maybe the battery needs replaced?

  • IPad mini backlight issues after digitizer replacement

I recently replaced the digitizer on my 1st gen iPad mini, and after reassembly, I'm havering issues with the backlight. Please have a look at my photo and let me know what the issue may be.
    Thanks a lot,
    Dave

I guess I should have mentioned before that this is my second time replacing it. The first time there was a faulty digitizer and the home button wouldn't work. But the touch screen DID work. Now its flipped, my second time around fixing it the home button works fine and the touchscreen is unresponsive. I thought it might have some damage from being dropped but the touch screen worked before. So I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or if its something i can fix. Thanks

Not completely sure if this is the right place for this but...
Well my digitizer died to put it simply and I need a replacement! I can't find one online whatsoever, so here's what I'm asking.
Can anyone link me to a place where I may purchase one OR give me a link to a better digitizer that would work with my tx2 1275-dx.
Thank you and my aplogies if this isn't the right place for this question!

Check specification of your model here.
This tablet is without bluetooth module.
You may buy usb micro Bluetooth adapter.
With that kind of device you don't need to even remember then it's plugged.

  • IPad 2 digitizer replacement problem. Maybe?

Help people. I was replacing an iPad 2 digitizer but during taking it off I tore the power button flex cable so we went ahead and ordered that probably be here tomorrow or Wednesday. Well anyway I decided I'd clean the iPad all up and find how I'd tuck the digitizer cable under the LCD screen. Anyway while doing that there's this little piece with 2 holes that is like a little tab sticking off the digitizer cable. That tore off of the digitizer. I don't know if that part is important or just there or what but can someone please tell me what that little piece is for? This is the 4th iPad I've fixed and never had either of the problems I had with this one. Please tell me what that part does or if its important. I couldn't test the digitizer because no power button flex cable and I don't feel comfortable turning on the iPad with something unplugged from it. I can still plug in the digitizer but this is just a little piece that sticks off from it.

  • TX digitizer replacement - did it myself and life is good (so far!)

Many TX users are aware of an issue involving TX digitizers, namely, that some of them are susceptible to gradual failure.  In my case, both of my TX's developed the same gradual failure in the lower left Graffiti input area of the screen.  That area of the digitizer would lose sensitivity to the point where stylus strokes became unrecognizable unless I really applied uncomfortable pressure.  It would become gradually worse over the course of several weeks to several months, to the point where Graffiti input became absolutely maddening.
Not only did both TX's develop the same problem, but I have had both of them repaired/replaced under warranty, and then the replacement digitizers developed the same problem.  I was all for having Palm continue to replace them for "free" under warranty, but that involves about $12 each time to ship and insure the package to Palm's Texas facility...and neither of them is even a year old yet so...
For about $60 each, I purchased two new replacement glass digitizers from www.pdaparts.com.  They, and several other online sites, had been out of them for some time (first, there was apparenly a bad batch, then word was that there was a shortage of some material that goes into their manufacture).
I replaced them myself this evening, using a combination of the video instructions from www.pdaparts.com and a very helpful thread from Brighthand Forums.  Not only do they work, but I have regained that old feeling of control that I had with my old lllxe...a nice firm and responsive surface rather than the slightly "spongy" feel of the newer plastic digitizers that went into the TX's OEM digitizers.
Note: Replacing the digitizer yourself will void your warranty.  But replacing a faulty digitizer with a better one than Palm uses, can help you regain your sanity.  Your choice.
Personally, I would probably do the same thing again, i.e. let Palm replace it once or twice before taking the plunge.  I know there are users who swear that their TX's original digitizers have never given them a second's worth of trouble.   I just ain't one of those lucky users.  And I use my TX pretty heavily throughout a typical day, so I can't have the digitizer failing like this.
The first one took me about 45 minutes (including time to get my hands to stop shaking).  But after I had done one, the second one took no more than 15 minutes, from start to finish.
Any questions about the process, feel free to ask.

I installed this same digitizer in my T|X some weeks ago.  Some discussion of my experience may be found in this Usenet posting and subsequent thread.
The stock digitizer in my T|X had always had some significant alignment issues (for which PowerDigi was able to compensate very nicely) and sensitivity which was uneven, but which usually required a heavier touch than I liked.
Eventually, it began to develop a “dead spot” near the upper left.  My T|X was under warranty, so I probably ought to have sent it in to Palm to be repaired, but I wasn't willing to be without it for the required amount of time, and I've heard enough reports of other T|X owners getting unsatisfactory results this way.  I'd heard enough good reports about the PDAPARTS.COm digitizer, that I decided that the only acceptable way to repair my T|X would be to install one of those.
After however many weeks it has been, I am still very pleased with the results.  It continues to work flawlessly; it is much more sensitive, so it doesn't require nearly so heavy a touch, and I very much like the hard feel that it has, compared to the spongier feel of the stock digitizer.
My wife's T|X still has its stock digitizer, and it has so far not shown any of the same problems that mine did, or for which the T|X has become notorious, but the feel is noticeably inferior.  She's content with it the way it is, but I think that if I were to ever buy another T|X for myself, I wouldn't wait for the stock digitizer to fail.  The PDAPARTS.COM digitizer is simply superior in every imaginable way; and, in my opinion, a T|X with the PDAPARTS.COM digitizer installed is sufficiently superior to one with the stock digitizer (even if it isn't defective) to be very much worth the expense and trouble of installing it.

  • Playbook Digitizer Replacement

Hi there, my digitizer for my 4G PlayBook  is cracked and I am looking for a replacement.  What is the part number and where can I get one.
I have tried so many replacement places and ebay and the wifi model digitizers don't fit.
Look forward to hearing from you.

You could get a rapid (magnetic connector) charger and use wifi sharing to move/backup data. Then no need to use USB at all, unless ever you brick it

  • U530 LCD screen and glass digitizer replacement parts

I need to replace my screen and digitzer.  My computer guy who has done screen repairs for me in the past says he can find the LCD for my U530, but he cannot located a glass digitzer for it.  Does anyone have any ideas where I can purchase one?  Will Lenova sell me one?   I can't find anywhere to order this part from their website.  Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.  Mike

  • How much to replace Xperia Z1 Screen

Basically my z1 has a huge crack in the screen and i want to know how much is it to get replaced with an orginal screen like not those compatible ones or should I say fake.

This is the LCD screen i found from the third party http://www.witrigs.com/oem-complete-lcd-screen-with-digitizer-replacement-parts-for-sony-xperia-z1-b...,  if you can try to replace yourself, it costs just the price of the LCD screen.
And with this information, you can go to the service center to ask about the price, make a contrast, then have a choice.

  • Digitizer or LCD with Digitizer?

    Hi
I broke the screen on my Z3 compact recently and I was just wondering if anyone knows whether I need a digitizer replacement or if the LCD needs replacing too. The screen is cracked and completely unresponsive, but the display seems to be working fine.
    Thanks!

From a 3rd party seller yes you can replace just the digitizer but you need to separate the LCD from the digitizer which isn't easy as they are glued together

  • IPhone 4s Digitizer?

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 4s I'm trying to fix. It doesn't turn on and the screen is shattered. If I buy a new screen, is a screen and digitizer one piece? or do I buy them separately? Would this be a good purchase for it?
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Touch-Screen-Glass-Digitizer-Replacement-for-iPhone-4-4G -AT-T-GSM-Black-Tools-/400398182030?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d3997668e

iPhone broken screen is fixed by replacement of the entire front screen assembly with both Display LCD and Digitizer fused as a single unit. It has two flex cables, one for the LCD and one for the Digitizer.

  • Ipad mini with broken digitizer - can it be backed up if passcode cannot be entered?

    Hello,
I'm not sure if i entered the right category, I have searched around for questions similar to this but have not been able to find a thread that answers my question. My ipad mini is 1st generation, 4G compatible, 16gb. iOS 7 (as specific as i can get).
I dropped the iPad which shattered the digitizer which means I am unable to to type in the passcode in order to back it up on iTunes. The screen was left undamaged. I have a backup from a week or two before it was dropped but I want to be able to retrieve the photos and garageband files that were made past that point. I am wondering if there is any way of backing up the iPad without a passcode or somehow the passcode could be entered on my computer, ect.
I am planning on bringing the iPad to get the digitizer replaced, but to be on the safe side I would like to have a backup just in case a mistake is made during the repair or if a storage dump is unavoidable.
    Thank you

You could try attaching a bluetooth keyboard to your ipad and typing in the passcode.  This assume you have enabled bluetooth on the ipad before.

  • Tungsten T digitizer problem

Every time I open my Tungsten T, the digitizer is off and I have to recalibrate. Will AutoDigi 5 help, or is it like Digifix, only working after a soft reset?
    Post relates to: Tungsten T

Welcome to the Forum. There some things you can try , I will start with the easy one.
If you have a screen protector that may be what is causing the problem. I have read posts that removing the screen protector and cleaning the rim of the screen with a piece of plain copy paper can solve some screen problems. Residue from the screen protector, dust, or grit can build up and cause a false tap. Also an air bubble under the screen protector can cause a false tap. Test the screen, if its works okay, put a new screen protector on, making sure you don't have any bubbles.
If that doesn't help, recently, five or six members have reported success with file called Power Digiv 2, which they downloaded at www.palmpowerups.com . You don't have to click "Buy", you can download the trial version to your computer and install, and then the next time you Hotsync your digitizer problem will be fixed. They say it is amazing. One Forum member was so impressed that he went ahead and purchased it for $16.95, incase his digitizer went out again and said it was well worth it. When you are at the palmpowerups site click the word "Download" under the third button that PowerDiGi. (Others who may read this please note it does not work on Treos, Power DiGi only works with screen resolutions of 320 X 480.)
If that doesn't help, it means your touch screen/digitizer is going out and problem will get to the point that bottom of the screen (Status Bar and keyboard) won't respond to the stylus and writing in note pad just makes scribbles all over the screen. You can get replacements at www.usedpdaparts.com and for $10.00 they will install it. You also get replacements at www.pdaparts.com and they have directions and videos for installing them yourself.
I had the touch screen/digitizer replaced in one of my T3's, but I didn't know about PowerDiGi back then. Next time, I am going to try it. Best of luck and let us know how you do.

  • Key issue

I am having an issue with my Itouch that there is a portion of the screen, right side, that I cannot use. It is not letting me use letters such as "i", "j", or "m". I am not sure why. Anyone else have this issue???
    Michelle

Try #2 and 3. If neither works, you may need your screen digitizer replaced.
