Dim screen after installing Windows 10

Alright, so I got the notified yesterday that I could upgrade to Windows 10. I installed it with no problems, I used it to do homework and watch a few movies. Everything is perfectly fine. This morning, after checking my emails, my screen all of a sudden dimmed down to the lowest setting. I've messed with all the controls/settings; check the drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling them; and nothing. My screen is stil REALLY dim and it's really starting to hurt my eyes! Anyone have any idea as to when compatible drivers will be released? Going back to Windows 8.1 is my last resort. If I do go back to 8.1 will I be able to reupdate back to Windows 10?

I am running Windows pro 10 that maybe why you don't have the auto adjust. If you have already went to device manager and updated video drivers you might look at your monitor driver in device manager. Some people after upgrading to WIndows 10 found that it was disabled after upgrade which didn't allow them to adjust brightness till they enabled it. Make sure that the check box to apply repairs automatically is checked off before you click next. I recently installed Windows 7 and everything was working fine until my computer went into hibernation. Before this, I installed all the drivers and software from the HP website for my computer for Windows 32 bit setup. After my computer went into hibernation, my computer will not start up in normal mode; rather, it starts in safe mode only. When its starts in normal mode, the screen just turns black and nothing happens. The login screen comes up perfectly fine but after I login at startup, the screen just turns black. Please help, I don't know what else to do whether it is a driver or software issue from the software from the HP site.

Boot Camp - Black Screen after installing Windows 7

Hello guys!
I have tried to install Windows 7 several times and so far no success.
Everything goes fine until I complete Win7 installation.
Then when I install Boot camp drivers the computer prompts for reboot.
After the login screen, I am able to log in, but the screen turns into BLACK!.
And I cannot do anything but shut it down with the power button. I can still hear that the laptop is on, but screen stays black.
I have tried removing the ATI and NVIDIA Drivers as recommended in this forum:

But so far I get the same result over an over.
Anybody is facing the same issue?
I have MACBOOK PRO
MAC OS X 10.6.8
AMD Radeon HD 6490M (ATI)
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Quad Core i7 Chip, 4GB RAM 500GB HD

I did install : Display Driver + Catalyst Control Center dowloaded from AMD support website:

The result is still the same - BLACK SCREEN
I rolled back to initial configuration.
Then I installed the AMD driver.
In device manager it shows as the AMD Radeon HD 6490M driver for the display/Graphics card
Everythig is fine until I install the Boot camp drivers.
Then after the reboot I face the same issue.
However the driver for AMD still stays there in the devive manager.
Any other ideas, suggestions?

Blue screen after installing windows update

I get this error message after I install the windows updates. I have the K8n Neo Platinum with Nvidia Nforce 3 250gb chipset. I am running XP X64. The computer runs great until I do the windows update. I have tried changing setting in the bios but that don't matter. Here are 3 pix. I had to take them quick so they aren't very good. I am right now re-formatting again so I am on my other computer.

Here is what it says. stop: c000021a (fatal system error) this session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000263 (0x00000000 0x00000000) the system has been shut down.
It then goes into a reboot mode and comes back with the same blue screen error code.

I e-mailed MSI tech support today also about the problem. A month ago I did the same thing. The tech said "oh I haven't heard of that happening before" So thanks for the link. I can't wait to get the "haven't had that happen before" DUUHHHH again. I will just link them. A month ago I wrote went through about 10 of the updates. Doing a re-install, updating and see what happens. I wrote down a couple of them that cause problems. It was just way to much work to time consuming so I just stopped.
I don't quite understand that voltage thing with the processor. I would think you should be able to set the bios to "fail safe setting" and it should run and do everything.
It don't look like they posted a fix for this problem. But I didn't install any of the security updates anyways. I wonder if it is just my Motherboard or what. There must be someone out there who is running x64 with one of these boards.

Black Screen after installing Windows 7

Ive had this problem in the past and im aware that you need to install the correct display / bluetooth drivers for windows 7 for the iMac 27" 2.8Ghz i7 4GB ddr3
i have Lion installed and up to date with Bootcamp Assistant 4.0.1
i wanted a fresh windows 7 install and didnt think that i would need to mess around with downloading drivers etc. WHY with the release of Lion and the updated version of Bootcamp Assistant (and it downloads 'windows support software' prior to install) do i get the black screen!!
THIS IS SO ANNOYING as i live in a poor broadband area (2mb max) and each time i install to get this working it take AGES to download 'WINDOWS SUPPORT SOFTWARE' which doesnt address the issue
c'mon Apple your better than this!!

I5 17''MBP gets blue screen during install windows 7 32 bit

Hello all:
I heard that quite many people get classic windows' "blue screen" during using windows , whatever Windows XP, Vista or 7. But now i face the "blue screen" during install Windows 7, which means I even can not complete installation.
I bought my Macbook Pro i5 17'' one month ago, and I'm trying to install Windows 7 but I face the problem during the installation. After finishing first 4 steps the computer would restart and start to "finish installation", but at this time it gets "blue screen" and shows "error: 0x0000009c" and stuck there. I have to shut down the turn off button and interrupt the installation.
I don't know if there's any one else face this unlucky situation. I searched on the net and it says the problem could be from memory, graphic card (too new), or even overlocking the cpu,whatever it must be the problem of hardware. I thought it might be the problem of compatible.
If anyone knows how to deal with this problem??!! I do need to use some software under Windows system!

It is good to see that it is indeed a USB2.
The support software on the USB is used in the Pre-boot environment setup and provides drivers for Apple specific hardware, GPU, BT, Mouse, etc. You can verify that by looking at the USB contents. The DVD contains generic drivers when hardware is not recognized as defaults to use. Apple does enough 'secret sauce' to make them different. The following does not explicitly state the USB2 need when using the DVD Installer and mentions W8 (not W7).

Insert a blank USB 2 flash drive that is a least 16GB in size into a USB port on the computer. Boot Camp Assistant uses this drive to store the Windows 8 install media and support drivers during installation of Windows.
Note: This flash drive needs to be formatted for the FAT32 file system and must use the Master Boot Record partitioning scheme. Use Disk Utility to check the format of the flash drive before proceeding, and partition or erase the flash drive if necessary.
I suspect the GPU is not getting the correct driver and the Installer fails. The Generic VGA should work. From the OS X side, can you see files in your BC volume? If yes, can you look for logs in the BC volume at the following locations.

Monitor calibration problems after installing windows 8.1

I have a hp envy m6-1105tx and right after installing windows 8.1 my monitor changed completely.
When i have a photo open in photoshop tones, colors luminosity, gamma etc are all wrong. Before i never had problems, when i looked at a photo in photoshop and i will see the photo on a different screen it would be basiclally identical but now the photo in photoshop is much different than the actual photo, and this doesn't apply only to photoshop but to everything. I already try to do the calibration through the control panel but it didn't improve the situation, is there a way to get the screen back to the way it was before?

Wehodancer, welcome to the forum.
I checked for an updated driver for the video, but there is none for Win 8.1. Therefore, I suggest installing the original driver for the video to see if it helps. It may be that it was corrupted during the update process.

Problem after installing windows 8.1-THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER

After installing Windows 8.1 in my Dell inspiron 15r SE, i have been noticing that before starting up every time it shows "an error occurred THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER check online for updates.......

We do need the actual log files (called a DMP files) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers
were loaded, and what was responsible.

Very slow to start mac os after instaling Windows thru bootcamp

Hello. After installing Windows 7 using bootcamp, my mac became a lot slower to start mac os lion. I have filevault enabled, and it is taking a lot of seconds to display the filevault login screen.
It is also taking a lot of time to detect my magic mouse. Sometimes I need to turn of and on the mouse a lot of times to get it detected. This process usally takes minutes.

Problems with safari after installing Windows 8

After installing Windows 8 , i can't access some websites in Safari
For example i can't login on Binck bank or a webshop
After fill the login details the program file runs , but the login screen remain and the login details diappaers and gone white.
This is on a few websites where i have to use login details but on others such as webmail acounts it works normal.
I have set up safari again and again without succes
What can i do to solve this?

Use IE, FireFox, or Chrome and see if the problem remains. My experience is that Safari has never worked well on Windows.

Can i install mac osx back again after installing windows 7 on my mac book a1181?

i have apple mac book a1181 white, but i had problem logging on as it was secured by a password, and i allready lost my recovery dvd, so i installed windows 7 on my mac book a1181 by deleting its partition from GTP to NTFS but i experienced problems after installing windows 7 as sound was not comming as i could not find sound drivers for macintosh, so now i plan again to restore my apple macbook a1181 back by reinstalling mac osx 10.5.8, how can i again install mac osx on my notebook and is it possible to re-install mac on my notebook? please give me some help.

Insert your OS X install disc and restart holding the C key, hold it down until you see the Apple logo and spinning gear. Choose your language and at the next screen from the top menu bar select Utilities-Disk Utility. Select your internal hard drive, click on the Partition tab and select 1 partition. Click on the Options button and select GUID partition scheme. Click OK. Choose to format the drive as Mac OS Extended Journaled. When Disk Utility is done and your drive is properly partitioned and formatted quit DU and go back to the installer screen and reinstall OS X. When you're up and running run software update a couple times to get everything up to date as far as you can with 10.5.8. My HP Pavilian m7050y & Monitor HP vs 19c keeps crashing after installing windows 7.
I knew there was a problem when I first installed windows, because the windows logo was not centered on the monitor after intial startups. I did adjust it a little by pressing auto/select on my monitor, and that helped with the centering a bit but it is not perfectly centered.
The screen goes blue and this is the message I get when it crashes and restarts.

Once windows is fully rebooted all pages, and the display look ok, until it crashes again. I searched for updated drivers on the HP and Windows site but could not find any. The one that is currently installed is called (Generic Pnp Monitor).

Did you run the Win 7 Upgrade Advisor to assure that your computer is compatible? There may be a problem with compatibility. Also, which version of Win 7 are you running; 32-bit or 64-bit?

Scanning PDF to computer after installing windows 10 not working

Equipment: Pavilion 23 and HP Officejet 6600 (all in one) After installing Windows 10 the printer/scanner can not send (scan to computer) a PDF. The HP 6600 screen DOES show the computer under the "Scan to" list then once pressed it briefly says "accessing computer" with the HP logo and a spinning thing around it, then the next screen shows a list of options for document format (PDF is the first one and the one I regularly used before Windows 10). Choosing "Save as PDF" brings up a "Confirm Start Scan" screen, pressing "Start Scan" brings up "Prepairing to scan" with the HP logo and spinning thingy again then the next screen, "Scan Unsuccessful" and below that "The scan could not be completed due to one or more of the following issues - Connection to the computer is lost - The scan application on the computer is currently in use - OCR application is not installed on the computer - See the computer monitor for details" no details are on the monitor? I have tried the solutions listed here like S**/scannow (DOS ADMIN level, 100% ok) , also the "dependent settings" I know this is a Windows 10 issue because it (the HP 6600) has worked flawlessly until this "Upgrade". Yes, I uninstalled the driver, yes I downloaded HP docotor, I have tried everyting on this forum and then some (i think?)please helpthank you for your wisdom OH great one(s) Other than this A huge thumbs up to Windows 10!!!! Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that you cannot scan with your HP Officejet 6600 after upgrading to Windows 10. I am happy to help! To verify the printer's hardware is working properly, are you able to make copies from the scanner glass? Copying a Multipage Original in Order (Collating). In the meantime, please try the steps in this guide, A 'No Computer Detected' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays When Scanning for HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer Series (H711), and follow the steps for Windows 8, as they will work on Windows 10. A lot of problems after installing Windows XP using Boot Camp on a Mac Book

I have been having a lot of problems after installing Windows XP Home Edition (2002).
For one, after installing Windows using Boot Camp with Mac OS X 10.5.1, I opened Windows on my Mac Book, inserted the Mac OS X Disk 1 as in the instructions and got the message: +"This package requires a newer version of the Windows installer. Do you want to update the version of the Windows Installer on your system?"+ When I clicked Yes (I had NO idea what it meant at the time), I got the message: "The required resource 'UPDATE' is missing" and the Installer quit.
How do I fix this problem?
Another problem I have is that there is no sound on the Windows XP, yet it works perfectly on Mac OS X. Is there any way to fix this problem?
A third problem I have is that I can't wirelessly connect to the internet using Window XP, yet I can on Mac OS X. I have no idea on how to fix this, and it's really messing with me. D:<
D: There are way too many problems, and I have a feeling there will be a lot more later on. Help....
