Dinamic table titles

Hi to all.
I have a table in visual composer that receives data from BI query, the query has dinamic table headers from month, i.e. the name of the header display the name of the month. On visual composer the name of the month only appears once in the table (when I refresh/test the data service) and not in runtime.
How can I make dinamic the headers of the table in visual composer based on month? I want to display the <u>name</u> of the month, not the key. Hope I was clear.

Hello Victor,
Tables in VC doesn't have an option of dynamic header. However, this can be worked around as following:
Clear the tables header
Add a transparent form to be placed on top of the table.
Add a plain text control and place it as the header.
Set the plain text control with dynamic expression and the style of your choosing.
Hope it helps,
Shay

  • Separate table title autonumbering for two named table styles?

    I believe this very same question whizzed by a few weeks ago but I'm having no luck searching for it.
    I have two named table styles.  I want the autonumbering for the table titles to be separate.  More specifically, one will autonumber as "Table t", while the other will autonumber as "Example e".
    I have redefined the autonumbering counter for the second of the two TableTitle para style, and if I apply that style while in that table's title, I get the new autonumbering.  But I can't transmit (a) selectively update the Table Title style to this format to other tables in the chapter.  By extension, I can't copy the  wonderful new table format to other chapters in the book.
    I next tried creating a new para style "ExampleTitle", then in the Table Designer trying Update All.  Nope, other tables of type example do not receive the new title style.
    This is fully-patched FM8.  The document is structured but I don't (want to) care about that -- I simply need to get the two different named table styles
    to autonumber sequentially.
    This is probably pretty easy once I learn the "trick"...(?)
    Cheers & thanks,
    Riley

    Arnis:
    Thanks.  For some reason I couldn't get my table to update, so I went through and manually create a second table title paragraph style, then manually applied that.  (I also created a second x-ref format so that I could x-ref to "Example n:" without including the colon in the x-ref, but that's another story...)
    So for now I've worked around the problem.  After I get this document out I'll revisit the issue.  (Why do I have a vague recollection that there's a known idiosyncracy where FM6+ table styles don't update properly...?)
    Cheers & thanks 'gain,

  • Limiting table title width

    Is it possible to set the width for a table title? For example, I have a 30 pica wide text column and I want to insert a table with a title below. (The table is actually going to have an anchored frame inserted that will contain a graphic.)Anyway, I want the table to be 20 picas wide, left aligned. I can adjust the width of the table and then apply to set that width (for future tables of that type) but the title flows across the entire width of the column. Can that also be set for 30 picas?
    Thanks in advance for your help!
    Mike

    You can constrain the width of the table title by setting a right indent for the table title paragraph tag.

  • Would like Table Continuation Variable added to a paragraph style, such as to a table title

    My groups uses both Frame 7.2 and Frame 9 and we would like to include the Table Continuation variable to our table title paragraph tag definition so that we don't have to manually add the variable. Is this possible now? If so, how?
    Thanks

    Hi Sherri,
    I guess it is possible. I am attaching a screen shot you can follow that.
    this is for Framemaker 9 and I am not sure about framemaker 7.2
    I hope this helps you.,

  • Managing table titles in FrameMaker 12 does not work

    I have a mysterious problem in FrameMaker 12. When creating a table I am not able to move the table title. When changing the setting to below or above or whatever and pressing Apply nothing happens. The feature works allright in FrameMaker 11. I have tried with both existing and new documents and the it doesn't matter. I can not do anything with the title position of tables.
    Are anybody else expiriencing the same problem ?
    regards
    Bjørn

    I don't think it ever was officially documented as the Help for reformatting tables since FM8 states:
    To redefine a table format:
    1. Click in a table whose format you want to redefine, and choose Table > Table Designer. If the table you click in has format overrides, these overrides--not the catalog format's definition--appear in the Table Designer.
    It does seem odd though that in FM12 with the table selected via the anchor, the Designer does show any overrides applied, yet one cannot apply the override this way. Something has changed and it may be an unintended side-effect of something else. What the overall implication for this is unknown, but the programming team should be made aware of this.

  • Dinamic tables

    hello;
    I'm trying to include a dinamic table on my jsp page but it doesnt work as i want.
    In my jsp i've got :
    <table width="100%"  border="1">
                  <tr>
                    <%=resultatBeanId.prevNext() %>
                  </tr>
                </table>i think thats correct. The function that realize teh HTML code of table is prevNext()
    That is the function:
        public String prevNext() {
            StringBuffer r =new StringBuffer();
           r.append( " <th scope=\"col\"><span class=\"style3\">");
            int num = (int) numR / 10;
            int i = 0;
            while (i < num) {
                r.append("<A HREF=\"Resultat.jsp?itemID= <%= request.getParameter(\"itemID\")%> & accio= <%=request.getParameter(\"itemID\")%> &page=" +
                         i + "\"> " + i + " </A>");
            r.append(" </span></th>\n");
                  //  <th scope="col"><span class="style3"><a href="Cataleg.jsp">ghjf</a> <a href="Resultat.jsp">dfgdfg</a> <a href="Cercador.jsp">dfgdfg</a> <a href="Resultat.jsp">dfgdfg</a> </span></th>
            return r.toString();
        }The problem is when i see the jsp in the web browser, it interprate that the end of the[b] <A> tag is the ">" of request.getParameter(\"itemID\")%> . Exampleof waht i see in the browser:
    & accio= &page=1"> 1
    I can't put JAVA code there????
    If someone can understand my explaination, can help me,please?

    I forgot one thing. I hope to see in my browser only the last character ("1")
    Thank you

  • Table title text not wrapping on 2nd page after inserting variable

    When I add the variable (continued) to a table title, it increased the length of the sentence on the second page.  The text doesn't wrap, it just gets cut off.  Any suggestions?

    Unless someone else has found some magic trick... You are kind of stuck here: Either keep your table heading short enough to have room for the continuation variable, or make sure the text flows into the second line all the time.
    It is apparently so that a repeated table heading has the same geometry as the original, first heading. [I don’t like it, but I kind of understand that limitation.]

  • Getting List of Figures, List of Tables titles into main TOC

    I have a book (all in one file) with three TOCs: List of Tables, List of Figures, main Table of Contents. I want the TOC titles from List of Tables and List of Figures to show up in the main TOC. They don't.
    Does anyone know why? Do TOCs not pick up text from other TOCs?
    Ken

    If it's going to work, you'd need to make the lists for tables & figures first, and include the styles you used for the tiltles of those in the things to search for on the main TOC. I presume you did this?
    By first, you mean temporally, not spatially, right? In print order, Contents comes before List of Tables which comes before List of Figures. Yes, I'm pretty sure I set it up right, but I'm starting to think that TOCs just ignore other TOCs. Is that intended behavior?
    Sure, I'll just type in the two missing titles. I just wanted it to work automatically, because I know I'll probably have to generate a new TOC about a month from now and I probably won't remember to add those two titles again.

  • Including variable in table title

    Hi,
    I have a model where a table is presented, then the user selects a line in the table and details are presented for that customer. I would like to include the customer name (which is an input / output of the data service generating the detail table), in the title of the resulting detail table, i.e.: "Details for Mike's Wonderful Widgets" instead of "Details for Customer".
    Can this be done in VC, and if so, how?
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Margaret

    I find you help very useful, but I don't understand the last operation that I can do:
    what does "place the tabel inside the form and the plain text above it" mean?
    I try to do this operation, but I cannot put the table in the form?!
    Can you please help me?
    Thank you

  • Dynamic Chart / Table Title

    Hi Experts,
    How do I set the title of a chart/table to display dynamic header?
    Here is an image of the scenario that i want to achieve:
    http://www.glowfoto.com/static_image/11-232042L/5186/jpg/05/2010/img4/glowfoto
    When a specific bar on the above chart is clicked, i want the year to be display in (XXXX) as in the title.
    Can anyone inspire me whether this is achievable?
    Thanks,
    Sarah

    HI
    Thats just a layout arrangement. You can reduce the size & place it on the table header. Then right click on the table & below send that table to the background. If you make the form size similar to table header it will look like what you want.
    Also if you make chart colour theme as 'Transperent' instead of dark or nutral, it will eactly look like title. (Option at chart properties)
    If this is not what you are looking for then please let me know what else you want.

  • Add icon to table title

    I can use the web API to modify all of the cell classes in an HTML table.
    Can I somehow use the API to modify the table web item's header?
    I'd like to insert an icon in the report title so users can click on it to take them to the documentation for that query.

    Hi Kenneth,
    the table-API doesn't provide any method for changing the title.
    The hardest way : Change your title by JavaScript-parsing the DOM on the client. That works, but if your table shows the query-result based on hierarchies you have a problem, since it is very difficult getting the table information in the DOM (I tried and my fingers are now bleeding    )
    The simplest way : Create a well designed title/picture/whatever-you-want on the top of your table/whereever-you-want containing your icon.

  • Any way to format table title?

    In the Table Inspector pane of the inspector, you can choose to display a title for any table on the sheet. Is there any way to format this title?
    Martin

    Yes there is. Click the title slowly twice and a box the width of the table will surround it.
    The format bar will then work to change the Font size & colour.

  • Setting up Figure and Table Titles for Translation Import and Export?

    Hi,
    I use InDesign to write User Manuals. Once the manual complete, I use SDL World Server to translate the document which works wonderful. The way it works is the document is parsed by the xml data and when you export the document from SDL, the translated data replaces the English data, it’s pretty slick! The problem that I have is that my Figure and Table numbers are hard coded with the word "Figure" and "Table” as part of the numbering system and will not translate nor export (see screenshot below). Is there A.) A way I can make the code become a reference to a text box in the document that then can be translated? B.) A common or different way to handle this?
    If you need any more info, just let me know. Thank you for your help!

    I've always avoided that auto-figure-naming stuff, in any application, for the sole reason that it often doesn't localize well. I'm not a WorldServer user, but a SDL Trados Studio user, so I don't know exactly what to tell you. If you're the kind of person to pop your IDML open in a text editor, you'll find that the actual "Figure" text appears in Styles.xml, and I doubt that SDL's IDML filters look there for text for translation. I don't actually know for sure, and I do know you're using an SDL product with which I have no familiarity whatsoever.
    A different, somewhat kludgy way to handle this would be to use auto-numbering to create an invisible paragraph number (color of Paper, size of 0.1 pts, glyph width of 1%, or something along those lines), and then have the phrase "Figure" in your live text, followed by a cross-reference to the paragraph number.
    A common way to handle this would be to ask SDL to update their IDML filter to pick up terms used in auto-numbered lists.
