Direct Access 2012 R2 - Problems with Force Tunneling and other questions

I have just setup a Direct Access 2012 R2 server in my network, 2012 domain and all Windows 8 clients.
Internal CA environment (no external CRL) using a public issued cert for IPHTTPS tunnel, 2 interfaces for the DA server, 1 internal and 1 in the DMZ behind a NAT firewall (1 public IPv4 address) and my test clients are connecting fine to internal resources.
1.  When I enable Force Tunneling the clients no longer are able to access the external internet.  Is there anything I need to add to make this work?
2.  I am having trouble with our Remote Desktop Session Hosts.  I can only assume it has something to do with the DNS  as we have our AD domain performing internal DNS of the int.contoso.com domain and public DNS performing for the external
Contoso.com domain (RDWA etc).  DA has only int.contoso.com set as a DNS Name Suffix in the Infrastructure Setup.  Should I add the external contoso.com Name Suffix in there too?
3.  I have a Kaspersky Security Center server for centralized AV admin, can I still push out AV updates to the clients that connect with DA.  Do I add my KSC server to the Management Servers list in the Infrastructure Server Setup page on the DA
setup.   Does that list allow those servers to access the DA clients?

Hi,
Let's solve problems one by one. Force tunneling. When enabled, all network trafic from DirectAccess clients goes throught IPSEC tunnels. Just configure a proxy on your DirectAccess clients (with a FQDN of course) and your clients should be able to surf
internet again.
RDS : Depend. Where are your RDS servers registred internal zone DNS or external DNS zone. If a DirectAccess client cannot resolve a name it does not know if it has to go throught the tunnel. At last can you ping your RDS Server?
Remote Management : Right. Adding servers in this list allow them to use the IPSEC infrastructure tunnel (computer established tunnel) without users being logged.

    Are you using the latest version of Silverkeeper? - v.2.0.2 is stated to be compatible with Snow Leopard.

    Please can anyone help with the continuing password rejection problem with email on my imac.My Ipad and other systems work fine but despite reloading my password on imac it bounces back.Apple store has been visited and I have tried everything they suggest.

    I use free Yahoo mail webMail access because folders I created in webmail access doesn't get set up in Apple Mail. While I was searching for post about password and keychain issues, I stumbled on several threads that complain about Mail folder issues, so I'm holding off on Apple Mail.
    On the password and keychain issue that your post is all about.  I've been using login keychain to save and automatical fill my login screens for a year or so successfully, with Safari and Chrome. Automatic form fill also works for Facebook login. Unfortunately, about 4 to 6 months ago, automatic password form fill stopped working with Yahoo webmail, while still worked for GMail (Safari and Chrome). I tried deleting the password entry for my two Yahoo email accounts to start fresh, but neither Safari not Chrome will even ask me if I want to save the password. I was so frustrated that I eventually installed the keypassX 0.43 (password manager) that is quite primitive sompare to OS X's keychain (when it works). Probably no surprise to you yet.
    The surprise, to me at least, is that, for whatever reason, password auto form-fill from keychain started working again for Yahoo webmail login on Safari about 5-7 days ago. Still doesn't work on Chrome!
    Two tips I can share, at least with webmail access:
    1. Password is save only for one of my yahoo mail accounts. When I login in with my other yahoo account, I get no prompt to save the password, and form fill doesn't work when I try to log in a second time with my other Yahoo mail account.
    2. On inspection of my login keychain, I see a webform password item saved for my Yahoo account that works with keychain. The name of the password is: login.yahoo.com(MyAccountName1#). When I open the password item and look in the Access Control tab, I see Safari and Chome are listed as allowed to access this password item..
         I also an "Internet password" item with a name of just login.yahoo.com. When I open the the password item, it looks just like the password item created for MyAccountName#1, but the MyAccountName#2 is listed in the Account field. Inside the Access Control tab, no apps are listed in access permission. I added Safari and Chrome to the lists of allowed app, saved the password item.
    Now when I bring up the Yahoo login page(by bookmark) on Safari, form fill fills in MyAccountname#1 for name and the proper password and I can login in. When I change the name to MyAccountName#2, the correct password is retrieved and I can log in! Alas, it still doesn't work on Chrome.
    BTW, I changed the password item type from "Internet password" to "Web Form password" and saw no difference! I also edited the name to be "login.yahoo.com (MyAccountName#2)" to look like the web form password item that works, but it has no effect either.
    From my experimentation, here's my observation:
    1. A Web Form password item is created for the first account name(MyAccountName#1) for login.yahoo.com and typed as Web Form password. When I log in using MyAccountName#2, an Internet Password is created, but no applications are listed as allowed to access the password item, even when the password item was created after just logged in and logged out to yahoo with the account name and password for MyAccountName#2.
    2. Manually adding Safari as an app that is allowed to use the password item works. Doesn't work with Chrome!
    The version of Safari I'm using is Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2). My installed version of Chrome is Version 21.0.1180.79 beta.

  • Problem with InDesing hiding and other programs can not be opened on screen at the same time.

    I have just installed InDesign on my Mac today. When opened it takes up all the screen and then when I try to open any other programs like a browser, it hides. I would like to make the InDesign window smaller, so I can follow instructions from a website, but the minimize window size buttons are not showing up at all. Any idea how I can fix the InDesing window size and show it along with the browser? Also how to detach it from Finder bar on the top of my screen?

    Hi Guys,
    Thank you so much for all your help. I was now able to fix it. It was after all the problem with the application frame being Off by dafout. It was showing up, but taking my whole descktop. Now when I followed your advice and checket it on under "Window" , it become much smaller and I am not able to resize it and the buttons to minimize or close it are now showing up (they were invisible before). Thank you so much to all of you who have helped me here.
    If I may have one more question, I have enocuntered another problem with using this Trial version of inDesign. When I wanted to access Bridge from the Bridge icon inside the program, I got an message that I need to download it from Creative Clowd. I found it strange since I have Photoshop CS6 and Brigge is part of this program, so I don't want to pay for it via Clowd service.
    I was able to open Bridge by just clicking on the program from my software launch screen, so it is now working along InDesign, but I wanted it to be part of the InDesign workspcace, so it would show along the program frame on the right of InDesign window and then could be attached there and moved along with it. In such set up I won't need to move each program frame separatelly when they are in my way while I work.  I wonder if it could be fixed and how. Any ideas? I would appreciate very much your reply.

  • MSI FX5600XT problems with agp 4x and other stuff

    Well
    I just bought myself a MSI FX5600XT-TD128
    I had a Hercules (guillemot) GEFORCE2 PRO (clock higher than GTS and slower than Ultra).
    I'm not sure if my previous videocard (the gf2pro) would run stable @ 4x or run @ 4x at all.. I know my motherboard is capable of agp 4x, the old videocard I am not sure it was..
    WEll, I bought the msi, plugged in and no post.
    so I take the card out, put it back in, posted... 5mins later, crash..
    No post..
    So I put the old videocard in (gf2pro) and disable agp4x in the bios, plug the msi back in and running so far stable...
    My motherboard is an IWILL KK266 (via kt133a).. very nice motherboard running on a not-so-compatible-with-it athlon xp 1600+ (1.4ghz)
    The mobo problems with the cpu (processor) are limited to having to press 'reset' switch to boot (or else pc will power up but no boot).
    Well my question is, is the agp 4x problem related to this msi video card in general, or to a faulty video card I *might* have (so I can exchange this one) or is it related to the motherboard???
    Also, can someone explain to me the diferences between FX5600, FX5600XT AND FX5600 ULTRA?
    Also, explain to me please the 'V,T,D,R' models differences too?
    And Last but not least, what is the best driver for the fx5600xt and winxp??
    I'm running msi latest (53.03, I installed it just to test em), I had nvidia's 52.16 prior to that.
    Thanks for all ur help

    This can also be from a weak PSU, which would be even further taxed by adding the power hungry FX card.
    Might need a stronger PSU.

  • Problem with BT Netprotect (and other things)

    We are having problems with various things on our laptop today (Friday), including with BT Netprotect. I am wondering if it is something to do with the recent Windows security updates.
    I want to run a scan with BTNP but when I double click on the red icon a blank white box appears, although according to Task Manager BTNP is running.
    Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening and what I can do? Other problems today are with Google Maps, Youtube and BBC iPlayer (iPlayer tells me Javascript isn't enabled although it is).
    Best wishes
    David

    I don't know if your recent updates have caused a problem but I do know that BTNetprotect has and does cause problems on some computers. It is also a resources hog and slows your computer down. The general opinion on this forum is to uninstall it and install another antivirus such as Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG Free or Avast free.
    If you do want to uninstall it follow this link. Also with regards to the specific problem you are having with it I would recommend uninstalling it fully then if you still want it on your computer, reinstall it. This usually sorts out most of its problems at least for a short while.
     http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13523/~/i-don%27t-want-bt-netprotect-plus-anymore.-ho...
    Make sure you follow all the guide including restarting your computer and running the McAfee removal tool. Once you have done that check to see if your other problems are still there and if so report back to the forum and we'll see if we can help.

  • "short-term memory loss": problems with iTunes, iPhoto, and others

    Recurring problems been frustrated with for several weeks, likely related in some way:
    1. iTunes (10) keeps asking for me to agree to license agreement every time it boots up.
    2. iPhoto (8.1.2) and Keynote (5.0.5) and iMovie (8.0.5) repeatedly give Start-up launch screen even though I click not to see it. iPhoto repeatedly asking me if I want to GPS my pictures.
    3. Google Earth stopped working.
    4. Skype also keeps asking me to agree to license agreement upon every launch.
    4. Skype upgrade (going from 2.8 to 5) runs and goes through all the way to relaunch but old version still there and no v. 5 to be seen.
    5. Adobe Acrobat repeatedly asking for log-in agreement too.
    HELP!
    I have already reset PRAM and SMC.

    Sorry for the length, got carried away trying to touch on main points.
    Okay, 2006 model, which came out Aug 2006-7.
    Heat. Good idea to run SmcFanControl 2.x to run default rpm 800-900 instead of too slow 500-600. Heat really harms those extra hot FBDIMM RAM chips.
    You need to boot from another hard drive to repair your boot drive.
    I would not go with DU and trust its verify. Alsoft Disk Warrior.
    You probably have a dying OEM Nvidia 7300GT or ATI X1900 that clogs itself with dust (poor air chamber design) and has to be pulled and cleaned 3-4x a year. There is even a recall-exchange program for some of the ATI X1900s, based on card serial number.
    Upgrades almost never do fix problems with hardware except once in awhile where graphic card drivers can always use some help.
    At the least, to repair your drive, boot from SL DVD and "Utility Menu => Disk Utility" until you have OS X installed on a small 30GB "emergency Mac" volume (from which to run DU but also Disk Warrior).
    I am not a fan of upgrading the OS to a new version. Format a new drive, and even actually new drives can ship with bad sectors. Think they don't? it would cost much more and longer to test even 1TB drive. And format a drive with Disk Utility from the new OS with Disk Utility, not older version.
    I would do a +clean install+ of 10.6 to another hard drive and fully update that and test things out. Then, clone/backup that with SuperDuper (safety net) and install software (10.6 upgrade editions that are compatible only).
    You may have something left in your system or installed that is corrupt, not compatible. Even a bad USB cable or device.
    Then import (Migrate) or hand copy your home account from backup (data is usually fine, thinking of /account/Library/ items.
    Creating a new user account can also be helpful to test a system, but first do a clean install so you know you are only using Apple OS.

  • Sales Report problem with 2LIS_11_VAHDR, 2LIS_11_VAITM and other DS

    Hi Experts,
    I need your help in following topic. I have a requirement to build a big (overall) sales report in BI (NW2004s).
    I would like to use BI Content because I'm running out of time and try to use all preconfigured stuff if possible.
    In the requirement a bunch of fields of different SD DataSources are used (mostly 2LIS_11_VAHDR and 2LIS_11_VAITM but also some fields of other Datasources).
    In SE16 I know how to locate all the field in the tables VBAK, VBAP, KNA1, VBKD,
    LIKP, VBRK and of course some texts. Some fields could already be located by me, others couldn't even be found in BI.
    The difficulty I have is to bring all the DataSources together so that the data is displayed correct - even if there are redundant parts.
    For example:
    For sales orders the doc no, sales org, distr. channel (and a lot of other header data) should be displayed in each line together with item data such as item no., material code, quantity (and a lot of other item data). If an order has multiple items each item should be diplayed in one row in the report.
    In the Query the report should look like a common table (e.g. as in an ALV Grid if you model a query with SQ01) --> a lot of columns.
    I'm not sure if I should use one big DSO with multiple InfoSources or if I should create a MultiCube and add the BI DSOs 0SD_O03 (Orders) and 0SD_O01(Order Items).
    I know this is a very common requirement in SD. Do you know how to combine the most common SD datasources that no issues come up?
    Thank you very much in advance,
    Horst

    Hi Horst,
    Reporting on ODS / DSo is slow. I'm here at a cleint where we have lots of reports on SD_O01 and SD_O03. The best way to have good  query performance is to build cubes on top of your ODS. Build a sales cube on top of SD_O03 with all fields and a billing cube on top of SD_O01. Load the data from your ODS to your new cubes. Then create a multipovider on top of both cubes, identify the keyfigures and characteristics required for your queries. Build the queries on top of the multiprovider.
    You can display all items of a bill in one row if you choose drill-across for the irems in the query, instead of drill-down. So it looks for a standard SD report.

  • Does Final Cut Express 4 work with mac mini and other questions...?

    I have a few questions I need help in answering... I would appreciate opinions on the following:
    I am about to make a purchase of a new mac. I already have a mac mini PPC, but it is too slow...
    Here is what I am thinking.
    Mac mini, 2GB mem, 160GB hard drive. Will this new mac mini work with Final Cut Express 4?
    Or should I go with the more powerful iMac?
    I like to make movies on my mac but I hate iMovie 08 so I constantly use iMovie HD 06. Should I go to Final Cut Express 4 or just stick with iMovie HD 06?

    There is no doubt that FCE 4 will run on an Intel mini - the GMA graphics processor is compatible. There is also no doubt that an iMac would give you somewhat better overall performance, though it's important perhaps to note that as complex as FCE is, it is actually a little less demanding on hardware than iMovie has traditionally been, so the difference between a mini with 2Gb RAM and a similarly equipped iMac will not be all that great in FCE, though it will become a little more noticeable if you continue to use iMovie 6.
    The main reason for the performance difference between iMovie and FCE is that in order to provide a reasonably sophisticated video editing package that will run on very basic hardware, Apple relied heavily on caching techniques, meaning that while FCE basically spools from video and relies on CPU power, iMovie constantly moves data to and from the hard drive. The mini's hard drive is a (relatively) slow device in comparison to the iMac's - thus the iMac runs iMovie rather more seamlessly. In FCE, the difference is, as said, rather less clear unless you were to go for the top-end model.
    If your budget can stretch to an iMac it makes sense to go that route simply because the extra power and overall performance (and the better graphics processor) will give you greater flexibility down the road. On the other hand, if funds are tight and you need to spend as little as reasonably possible, a mini will do fine, and is sufficient;y inexpensive that in a couple of years could be sold off and replaced without severe financial implications.
    In terms of the choice between FCE or iMovie, beware that if you haven't used FCE before, the transition is not easy, and the learning curve for it is pretty steep. That said, it has far greater power and flexibility in terms of what you can achieve with it than has ever been possible with iMovie.
    That said, for casual and home use, iMovie (version 6 at least) has plenty of power and tools for the majority of projects. iMovie 8 is, in many ways, deeply flawed for those who want that sort of power and workflow tools, being that it is designed for quick and easy creation of movies, not creative and considered productions. It has it's uses, but if you have experience with iMovie already, v8 is really not intended for you at all.
    All that said, I've used iMovie 6 on systems will a lot less power than the current Intel minis, and have found it stable and workable, so I have no doubt it would work well on any current Mac.

  • Access Connections Problems With Windows 7 and Microsoft Security Essentials

    There appears to be a conflict with Access Connections and Microsoft Security Essentials which causes Microsoft Security Essentials to generate high page faults and high CPU usage, and prevents normal operation of Access Connections.
    After fresh install and reboot Access Connections would not launch, and when cursor was moved to the taskbar, the cursor pointer changed to a spinning loop.  Clicking on the Access Connections gadget did nothing. Looking at Task Manager, Microsoft Security Essentials program msmpeng.exe was experiencing 5000+ page faults per interval.  Terminating msmpeng.exe immediately caused Access Connections to launch.
    System configuration: Lenovo Thinkpad x200s with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 RTM (installed with a fresh install) with all current updates, and all updates from Leovo including Access Connections V 5,42 Build 6JC725WW,
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Here is a workaround to fix the issue
    1) Launch MS Security Essentials
    2) Click on the "settings" tab
    3) Click on "Excluded files & Locations"
    4) Click "Add"
    5) browse and add the following exceptions
     a) C:\Users\Public\Lenovo\Access connections
     b) C:\Users\Public\Lenovo\Access connections\AccConnAdvanced.html
    6) Click "Save Changes"
    The issue is also resolved in AC 5.5 which is posted to the web
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-73682
    Can someone please test both solutions and let me know if the issue is resolved.
    Thanks

  • URGENT! Having problem with while statement and other syntax errors

    I am trying to teach myself JSP for a school project due very soon. But I keep receiving errors surrounding my while statement. The errors are:
    Syntax: ";" inserted to complete BlockStatements
    Syntax: "}" inserted to complete Block
    I have checked it over and over again, comparing against other examples found in this forum and against servlet examples and I can see no difference. This is my file for your information. It is supposed to list all the users in the user table. Is there a simpler way to do this?

    There is a problem here with the "scope" of variables namely your variables "rs" and "stmt". Variables declared within a try block are available only within that try block. Also, the type for stmt is not even given.
    Change:
    try{
    //create SQL statement
    stmt = con.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * from USER ORDER BY User_lastname, User_firstname");
    catch(SQLException e){
    System.out.println("Error connecting to the database.");
    System.out.println(e.toString());
    throw new UnavailableException(this, "Cannot connect to the database");
    }to:
    Statement stmt = null;
    ResultSet rs = null;
    try
        //create SQL statement
        stmt = con.createStatement();
        rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * from USER ORDER BY User_lastname, User_firstname");
    catch(SQLException e)
        System.out.println("Error connecting to the database.");
        System.out.println(e.toString());
        throw new UnavailableException(this, "Cannot connect to the database");

  • Problem with Facebook popups (and other UIScreen based popups) since AIR SDK 15.0.0.302

    As you may remember, since the release of iOS 8 it's no longer possible to upload apps which were compiled with AIR SDK versions before 15.0.0.302 (No longer able to submit app to iTunes.)
    Problem is, since that version UIScreen based popups (such as Facebook dialogs in native extensions, etc.) are not presented correctly.
    There's a bug report: Bug#3837136 - Apps Built with AIR for iOS 8 reporting incorrect UISCreen dimensions
    And it seems like quite a critical problem given that we don't have an option to compile our apps using previous versions.
    I wish we had an ETA for this issue.

    Firstly, there's no such thing as Apache 9.3, there's Apache 1 (and subversions) and Apache 2 (and subversions). Your error message -
    Oracle-HTTP-Server/1.3.28Shows you're using Apache 1.3.28
    Secondly, I'm confused by your comment -
    I do not have Apache 9.3 or higher but I think oracle should offer this in its companion CDOracle does offer the Apache server, if you're saying you didn't get it from Oracle then where did your Apache server come from?
    Thirdly, I notice from your config file -
    ErrorLog "|E:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Companion\Apache\Apache\bin\rotatelogs logs/error_log 43200"That you're piping the logs through rotatelogs, are you sure the logfiles haven't just been renamed?

  • Legal Desimlock - problems with Mail, Safari, and others...

    Hello,
    I'm using a french Orange iPhone. 6 moth after the origianal purchase, I contacted Orange to desimlock it. Once the désimlock is completed, I encounter a lot of problems...
    - Mail.app crashes on startup.
    - I can't modify mail préférences in System Preferences
    - I can't take photos. They are not store in the phone.
    - I can't connect to the Internet using Safari. Every connexion ends with a sad "not route to host"
    Everything else seems to work normaly : i Can send/receive calls, VVM is ok, iCal too...
    I've tried :
    - restauring the unit
    - sending it to DFU mode then restoring it
    - deleting all preferencies
    - deleting all preferences and content
    Has anyone an idea to fix these major problems ?
    Cdy,
    Ti

    Sorry, no. I've heard there are 3rd party tools that can extract data from the backup files on your computer, but I have no experience with them.
