Direct config in Production Server

Dear Friends
I am through with the configurations in Development Server. I am planning to do the transport from Development to Production. Kindly let me know what are the direct configuration which I need to do in Production Server.
For eg:
In PA:
Number range to be defined.
Control record to be created in production.
In Org Management
Create Org unit, jobs, positions etc
Maintain Reporting Structure etc
Time Management
Public holiday calendar-How to transport this.
Payroll
Apart from above, what are the direct configuration and other things like Infoset Query which I have to keep in mind before transporting.
Your valuable suggestions and recommendations will be appreciated.

storage bins are master data and not customizing, hence they are created in production system directly.
if you create them in development system, then you do not get any transport request.
(but it is possible to create a transport request manually and add the LAGP table entries to it)
but usually bins do not have individual names, a warehouse has a certain structure, and bins get identified by coordinates.
you can customize a schema for the naming and generate the bins.
this schema can be transported.
And then you just execute LS05 to generate the bins

Problem in generating acknowledgement no in production server

am generating the 40ack feature by giving the Transaction Code :- Pe03.
2.When i going to change option after generating the 40ack feature, i am unable to get the change option and the activate option in the production server.
I want to update the acknowledgement no for Form 16 in the production server directly.
Can you please let me know how to get the change node and the activate node in the production server so that i can directly update in production server.

Movie not Playing on Production Server

Hello Everyone and thnaks for your help in advance. I am relatively new to Flash development. I created my first movie with a poster board. It appears to work fine on my local machine, however, when I publish it to my production server, the poster board displays, but the click to play button does not play the movie. Organisation structure transferred or created directly in production server

Hi Experts,
Organization structure is created in DEV and transferred to Quality and production or it is created directly in production server.
What are the implications for the both.
I am little confused. Please Guide me

It can be transferred from one server to another server or else you can upload the structure in production directly in the sequece order
in order to transfer from server to server check RHMOVE00 Report Read the documentation
in order to upload directly in prd upload objects first , later relationships for that objects

Generate work schedules in production server

Hai Friends
I am trying to generate work schedules in production server, its saying only display client, then basis team opened the production server and while trying to save, its asking customizing request.basis guy saying that he wont create request for that in produciton.
Is this the right way to do?
When I trying to generate Work schedule in Dev, then also its asking customizing request, is it transportable one? Or we need to generate the work schedule in production it self? Please clarify

Hi,
Generate the workschedules first in Dev server...you will get a customizing request. Save it.
Get the request transported to your testing / Quality server by Basis team.
Then once okay...get it transported to Prd server by the Basis team.
Doing changes directly into PROD client by opening it is not advisable...this will cause problems in future whn issues are encountered and u need to test configs for future developemts.
Keep the servers in your landscape in sync with respect to config.

Budget Exceed Issue in work Order (P.O) in Production Server.

Hi Friends,
I am getting different type of budget exceed issue, that to only in Production server.
Here the issue is when I am creating the work order P.O (Acc.As. Cat.P, Itm Cat. D) with different service line items with respective WBSe with in the budget limit, then I am doing SES for some quantity, now when I am changing (I am decreasing not increasing) the same P.O line item available quantity and creating the new version now system is calculating the old version line item quantity + new version quantity (nothing but double) then giving budget exceed error.
One more strange thing is, if I change quantity for one line item then system is giving budget exceed error for another line item which is having the different WBSe which was saved with out giving any error at the time of P.O creation.
This issue is happening only in Production server ....same scenario I have run with the same values in both Dev. and Qau. (Where the config. is same in all 3 clients) but in both the clients it is working fine...but in production why the system is behaving in such a way I am not getting.

Hi,
I have face similar issue in deleting PO line items.
Even though I delete items, system check budget for deleted qty with the currency conversion + value & gives budget exceed error.
In some cases we have asked user to deactivated AVAC asked to do the transaction, which is not recommended.
You can try running CJBN & CJBV in sequence for affected WBS.

Error when generating the report in Production Server

I have created one infoset query in Development server of my client. It is working fine there. I had transported the request containg this query to Production server. But whenever I am trying to generate report using this query in Production server it is giving an error message
"Error when generating the report".
I am not getting what 's problem.

Genarally its not suggested to transport Queries. Should be able to create Queries directly Production. There might be diferences between your Development and Production versions.

New production server PLUS upgrade!

After years of groveling, weekly church visits, and burning incense, it appears that I will finally be able to get a new production server for our 3.3 TB data warehouse. They are also going to add 2 TB of space to our main storage array.
In addition, management wants to upgrade from 10.2.0.3 to 11gR2 as part of that migration. Our current server was not able to handle 11g, according to Oracle.
In recent times, I have had to do some very non-standard things as a dba, mostly due to insufficient resources. So these migrations may not be as straightforward as what you read in the docs, and therefore I would like some opinions about how best to achieve the migration to the new box, and to 11gR2.
Our current environment is a Sunfire 6800 Sparc 64 box with 12 900mhz cpus and 16G of ram, and Solaris 10.
Most of our datafiles are housed on a 3.7 TB Sun 2540 storage array, but due to space and performance constraints, it was decided to put one very large and mostly unimportant tablespace (350G) on a 2.1 TB Sun 3511 array. We also put our 2 temporary tablespaces (about 54G) on that array. Also on the 3511 array is our db_recovery_file_dest area, with all of our archived redo logs and flashback logs. Due to lack of space there, I have to direct our RMAN database file backups, archived log backups, and exports to an unsupported Hitachi SAN, which is 8 years old, like our Sunfire 6800.
The new server is a Sun M4000 with Solaris 10, so the OS will not be an issue. It will have 4 4-way 2.5ghz processors and 32G of ram. The newly expanded 2540 array will have enough space to hold us for a few years. It is currently 3.7TB, using 2.6 of that. When expanded, it will be about 5.8TB.
My mission is to move all of the temporary tablespace and other data files (about 1 TB) and the exports (1 TB) to the newly expanded 2540. We will keep the space (2.1 TB) allocated on the 3511 attached to the new server, but it will be used ONLY for recovery-related files; rman backups, flashback logs, archived logs, etc. My goal is to keep at least two full rman backups in that space, along with all the necessary archived log backups. We are supposed to get everything off of the old SAN. So, there will be a lot of file shuffling, nothing new for this shop.
My plan would be to install 10.2.0.3 (same exact version) on the new server, then hook it up to the existing storage arrays. (My boss thinks that will reformat all of the disks on those arrays, but I don't think that is necessarily true. I believe it is possilble to mount each file system on those arrays to the new box, so long as they have been unmounted from the old one. Then again, I am not a Unix Admin)
Next, I would startup-mount the database, move the necessary files to the 2540 using Oracle and Unix commands, then shut down the db. Then, I would install 11gR2 with all patches on the new server, and upgrade the database manually, in place.
If my boss is right and connecting the new server to the existing arrays means re-initializing them, he asked if we could use our last RMAN backup to restore the database in the new environment. I said if we were still running 10g at that time on the new server, and all the file systems were identical, that should be possible. However, I should note that we do NOT use an RMAN catalog (RMAN uses the controlfile). We have no place to put an RMAN catalog. I have never even had a place to test doing a restore with RMAN.
If anyone out there has been through a migration to a new server along with an Oracle upgrade, I would appreciate any ideas on the best way to go about it.

Its not recommended to upgrade OS and Database same time. I would recommend :
1) Migrate database from Old Server to new Severs.
-> Install OS, packages, patches, create users, groups, mount points and configure kernel parameters as required.
-> Restore $ORACLE_HOME, inventories, mount all data partitions on same mount points similar to old servers
-> Perform relink for all oracle home binaries using command relink all command.

ESS Leave request screen giving a critical Error in production server

We are in a critical face of ESS implemetation.
We are doing an ESS MSS implementation for country grouping 99.
When we moved our changes to production server after succesful testing in quality, getting the following Critical error for Leave Request Screen.

Other areas like personal Info & who is who are working fine.
Leave request was working fine in Development and Quality servers and it never worked in Production server.
It worked fine with same config, with same master data and same employee & org structure in quality server.
We tried the following things:
1. Checked and confirmed the sequence of transports for configs and Developments to Quality and Production.
Even compared the table level entries and ABAP codings B/n dev and Production. All are same.
2. Moved the workflow changes to production and activated the same. No change found after that.
3. Gave SAP all authorization in R/3 and full authorization from portal side as well.
4. Assigned the userid to different employees and checked the masterdata of employees.
5. Checked the note 1388426.Every thing mentioned in the note is there in the system.
6. Verified Rule groups and WEBMO feature are correct and same as in quality.
As our go live date is very near, request your help .Thanks in advance for your help.

Transport of ABAP query to production server

I have developed a report with ABAP query in development server with transaction codes SQ01, SQ02 AND SQ03 respectively.
I also got the program name from SQ01.
Now , how to attach a transaction code with the program that is generated from ABAP query and transport it to production server
successfully.
If the program is attached directly to the tr code through SE93 and transported----- program is not found in the pr. server.
pls help me out , requirement is very urgent.

Flex App with remoting works on local Apache server - fails on production server

I have a Flex app that uses Data Services. The application works correctly on my local Mac Server and Apache. When uploaded to my production CentOS server, the Data Services fail. When the app is done loading, the following error message comes up:

Where getAllModels is a method of my custom ModelsService.
I changed the Zend path in the amf_config.ini file so it references the correct directory. If I browse to gateway.php, it prompts to download the file, which I think is correct.
I added in the config file the path to the services folder.
I tried adding $server->addClass("ModelServices") in gateway.php, but it didn't like that.
The file structure on the production server is the same as the local server (I litterally uploaded everything in my local web root), so I can't think of what would be differenet between the two.
I have already pulled one all nighter trying to get this to run. Do you know what I should troubleshoot next?

Works on dev, but not production server

I am building a site using LCCS which works on my laptop, which runs ColdFusion 9 and Apache. But it does not work on my production server, which is ColdFusion 8 and IIS. I have made the various configuration changes and I can successfully create a room via CF from the production server.
But my Flex app does not seem to load properly on the production server. It is basically a video-conferencing app, so the swf should display the "Start My Camera" button, but it doesn't. It works perfectly on my laptop though.
I realize I am using very different environments, but I don't know why that would affect anything for the simple Flex-generated swf, especially when I am dynamically creating the room via production.
I am sure it is something simple, but am out of ideas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It seems I figured out my problem (well, about this issue anyway).
A while back, I un-installed .NET but then had to re-install it. In doing so, somehow IIS lost the ability to recognize .js files. It would return a 404 error whenever you tried to call any file with a .js extension. My hosting company did something to re-associate the file type with IIS. It seems I have the same problem with .swf files.
fyi, I used Charles (a Firefox plugin) to diagnose this. I had assumed it was a permission issue. It never occurred to me to try to access my swf directly.

DMS uploading from Development server to Production server[GO LIVE].

I have configured DMS at client palce. Here they don't have quality server.
What we configured will be tested in development it self. So in the unit test there is no errors at all and
uploaded some documents in the development also.
So i want to know how i could tranfer request and full DMS configuration to production server[Go Live].
1.Wheather I could need Basiss Help.
2.What are all precautions i could take before and after 'go live'
3.What are all requirement needs to 'go live'.

there no mandatory of quality server to test , if ur confident, u can directly transport to production
For request transporattion its better to have basis person, if u know the procedure, u can also import from production server.
Before that release all transport request in devp server.
After transporting to prod server check wheather all customising setting imported or not, wherever necessary u create master data in production system it self(Class and characterstics, and number ranges).
For going live u need to create all roles and autorization and need to assign to respective user ids.

How to put in production server ?

Hello every body !
I have developed a SharePoint website intranet. I have created an approval workflow on a list with SharePoint Designer and InfoPath.
Now I want to put this solution into a production server.
I now that I can't deploy directly like a Visual Studio solution but are there praticals tips to do this ?
For example to re use InfoPath form of the approval task...
Other question more general... Where can I find the website directory on my server ? With the aspx and xsn files.

You can use SPD to export the workflow in a .wsp package and deploy that. Or, import that in vs.net and work from there. It needs to be a reusable workflow in order to do that though, if it isn't, you need to reimplement it in SPD.
