Direct Connect To Folder on Server

I want to give access to a specific folder to someone on my server with out allowing access to rest of the server. When I connect to server with the credentials I can only see the server but cannot access the folder that I want to.

It just says there is a problem connecting. I have also tried to make an alias under a name that can access the folder but when I try with the other credentials it loads the drive but wont take me to the folder.

I have an 8350i that I use with a BES.  I just recenlty had the unit swapped out under warranty, but now I can not figure out how to keep the Direct Connect calls from filling up my message folder.  With my older unit it did not logs the DC calls.
I have already set the Call Logging to NONE and I have set both the Hide Filed messages and Sent message to YES

My phone has been doing the same thing since day one. I thought there was a way to correct the symptom but instead i chose to deal with it. I wonder if an update took away this option? I scoured the owners manual and bb online with no such luck. I contaced my carrier, no luck there either, I hope someone answers this thread soon.

  • Cannot ping Cisco C series server using direct connect to UCSM

We have connected 2 Cisco C series servers (VIC 1225 Cards) with direct connect to Fabric Interconnects and managed via UCSM but cannot get network working.
Service profiles have been created and pushed with only 1 VLAN and the default VLAN as native but cannot communicate with IP address configured.  Mac address is learnt at the Nexus 5K northbound switches.  Seems to be a VLAN tagging issue somewhere

We do not use the CIMC as the server is all managed from UCSM and the CIMC has to be set to default for this mode
Sorry I was not clear; I mean of course that even with UCSM, your C-series server will get an IP address for CIMC, which is used if you open a KVM session. You should be able to ping this IP address.

I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?

  • Does PI need a direct connection to third party or can work with a proxy server based connection to third party?

does PI need a direct connection to third party or can work with a proxy server based connection to third party?

    Hi,
It basically includes 3 systems, one is our ECC sender system, middle one is PI box and third one is the receiver system. Data is successfully reaching to PI system from our sender system. Now we want to forward this to our third party system from PI box.
I want to know that such sending of data requires direct connection to third party or it can be done by proxy server based connection to third party. If it is possible then what are the steps to do this?

  • I can't get Flashbuilder 4.6 to connect to remote Linux server on port 80

I'm using Flashbuilder 4.6 on a Mac (Snow Leopard). I have a new CentOS 6.2 Linux server with Apache webserver 2.2.21 on it, then installed GlassFish 3.1.1 application server on it, then installed mod_jk to connect Apache and Glassfish. Everything is installed on the same server. I verified that I can deploy an example war file (web application) in Glassfish and access it fine using either,
mydomain.com:8080/mywebapp  (uses port 8080, which is direct connection to GlassFish)
mydomain.com/mywebapp   (uses port 80, which enters Apache and passes through mod_jk to get to Glassfish)
This works well (no errors in any logs files).
Then I download BlazeDS from Adobe website, create a hello world application with it and deploy it in GlassFish. I next try to setup a new Flex Project in Flashbuilder 4.5. Using the wizard, I come to the section (under Server location) where I need to input a Root Folder and Root URL. Everything works fine when using a Root URL of http://mydomain.com:8080/mywebapp, meaning, I can click on the Validate Configuration button and Flashbuilder connects to the server.
But if I enter in the Root URL input field http://mydomain.com/mywebapp, then Flashbuilder cannot connect to the server. I need to eventually close port 8080, so I need this solution, which uses port 80, to work.
I made sure that the httpd.conf file VirtualHost section does include a `JkMount /mywebapp worker1` statement, and I can even look at the mod_jk.log file and see that Apache correctly opens a socket for mod_jk to communicate via AJP between Apache and GlassFish (with no errors or warnings) when the address `mydomain.com/mywebapp` appears on port 80. The GlassFish server.log file also shows no problems.
I'm stumped what to do next. Does anyone have experience connecting GlassFish, mod_jk, Apache, and Blazeds (or LCDS, should be similar)? If so, do you see any differences in my setup compared to yours? I'm only trying to use RemoteObject (not messaging, or streaming, etc.) with Java POJOs.

    Hi!
Thanks for the reply. No, my ISP isn't providing me with three IP addresses, just one static address. And the VDSL modem...not a router, but beyond that, don't know much about it. Do have a switching hub, however, a gigabit thing that so far is working great.
Managed, somehow, to get everything working, however. Really don't know what I did. But I can now take the MBP off the wire and connect to the other Macs without turning on Airpot on those machines. Next step now is to take the MBP to another location and try to establish a connection to the home network via Desktop Transporter or Vine. That's the Holy Grail that will allow me to sever the cords that keep me from straying too far from home during working hours. Love to sit at that coffee shop across the park and do my work from there!

  • Moving Time Machine Drive from Direct Connect to Network Share

I have a 1 TB external USB 2 drive I use for my Time Machine backup. I'd like to move that drive to a file server and continue backing up to it. The problem appears to be that when backing up to the drive as a network volume, Time Machine wants to create a new sparsebundle for the backup and not use the existing TM backup folder on the drive.
Is it possible to migrate a Time Machine drive from direct connect to network while preserving the backed up data? Thanks!

Depending on what "file server" you're using, that may or may not work reliably. Here's the criteria they must meet: Disks that can be used with Time Machine. And be careful here: just because some 3rd-party hardware claims to support Time Machine doesn't necessarily mean that Apple supports it, or that it will work in all circumstances.

    That's correct.

  • Direct Connect Migration Issues

So I'm about to get my MacBook Pro in the mail soon and I was looking at Apple's Great Migration page. Here is what I want to do (direct connect):
    Direct connect
To move files by connecting your Mac directly to your PC:
    1. Connect your Mac to your PC using a standard Ethernet cable.
    2. Make sure that both computers are turned on.
    3. In the Finder on your Mac, choose Connect to Server from the Go menu to open the window.
    4. Type your PC's network address in the Server Address text box using one of these formats:
    * smb://DNSname/ShareName
    * smb://IPaddress/ShareName
    5. Click Connect.
    6. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your PC's workgroup name, user name, password, and the volume or folder you wish to access.
    7. Your PC volume should appear on your Mac Desktop.
    8. Open the volume and drag and drop files directly from it to anywhere on your Mac.
    9. When finished, drag your PC volume to the Trash to unmount it.
For #4, what do I enter in for this?:
    * smb://DNSname/ShareName
    * smb://IPaddress/ShareName
    Thanks so much!

There are several BDE replacements that allow you to connect to
Oracle from Delphi with out BDE or ODBC
DOA- Direct Oracle Access from Allaround Automation ~$200.00
    http://www.allroundautomations.nl/index.html
    NCOCI8 is freeware.
Goto to www.kylecords.com and they list BDE replacements.
I use DOA and their PL/SQL developer systems from Allaround
Automations and they are both excellent systems with excellent
    support.

  • Direct-connect inside network with dynamically assigned IP-addresses

I have 13+GiB of files to transfer between two computers (one arch and one Win7) and would rather not spend the day moving them ~1GiB at a time via flashdrives.
I have tried setting up an ad-hoc network on the win7 machine, but wifi-menu fails to connect to it.
I have tried setting up an ssh server on the arch machine and accessing it via PuTTY on the Win7 machine.
I have tried setting up an apache server on the arch machine and accessing it via firefox on the Win7 machine.
I do not have the permissions to statically assign ip addresses on the network, and need to somehow directly connect between these two computers.  Any suggestions?

5donuts wrote:I've spent the last hour or so trying to set up samba, but I can't figure out how to connect to a Windows shared folder with smbclient, and just cd-ing into the mountpoint doesn't work since access is denied
Post the exact commands that you are using and the exact error messages that you receive.
For mounting windows shares I use variations of the following command:
    mount -t cifs //<windows ip address or host name>/<windows share name> /mnt/foo -o nosetuids,uid=<your local user id>,gid=<your local group id>,user=<windows user name>,workgroup=<windows workgroup>
Have you tried something similar? It should "just work".

  • Cannot get beyond "connecting to an update server" when trying to load a "strongly recommended" update.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, running Windows XP. I keep getting a pop-up from Firefox saying "It is strongly recommended that you down load this update".
Whenever I try to do so, it refuses to go beyond the progress box that says "Connecting to the update server". I have left it at this point for well over 30mins on one occasion, but to no avail.
I have tried both through my Belkin router and direct on the ethernet cable.
The broadband connection is one of the lower-speed O2 exchanges.
    What might be the problem?

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.<br />
You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Users refused SSH connection of home directory server.

I have an odd situation when using SSH connections for secure FTP file
    access on my NW6.5 servers.
I've got two main data servers. Both are identical in setup: NW6.5SP8/eDir
8.8SP5 VM's running on identical Dell PE1950's attached to a Hitachi SAN
    array.
One server hosts the users' home folders, the other holds data shared across
    the enterprise.
I have a third data server at a remote campus.
With the server that hosts the user's home folders, I've several accounts
that are not able to connect. The server logs indicate a failed password.
That same user, however, can log in successfully to either the server that
holds shared data or the server at the remote site.
Due to the nature of how Novell implements SSH, once they've logged in,
they're attached to their home folder on the server that will not allow them
    direct connection.
Since this issue does not affect all users, I don't understand where the
    issue lies.
The sshd_config file on both servers are identical.
Not sure if it's applicable to this issue, but SDIDIAG reports no problems
    on either server.

In the past I've collected iMonitor traces, but could find anything concrete

That said, I can't remember what all I set up in the trace configuration

  • Mac computers in the office are not able to connect to our exchange server.

We started facing this problem about a month ago in our office where the apple computers can not connect to the exchange server via outlook or applemail or anything for that matter. All the other computers can connect to the exchange server with no problems
and the apple computers can even access the exchange server via OWA but the outlook and applemail apps would not connect to exchange. We have tried even deleting and re-creating some accounts on the apps but they still would not connect. At this point I am
at a complete loss and I looked everywhere through google to find out if anyone else has faced this problem but to no avail.
A little background information. This specific problem started happening after there was an un-expected series of power outages to the servers and they were shut down un-expectedly. I personally restored the servers and turned on all the services and made
sure everything was up and running after the power outages and everything was working fine. Also the first instance of the problem with the mac computers only happened two days after the servers were back up and running again and they had no issues in those
    two days.
Right now we do not have that many mac users in our offices (only 3-4 users) and I have instructed them to use the OWA in the meanwhile but it is however an inconvenience to them. By now you may have realized that I am not a very experienced server admin
and I would really really appreciate any help. I extend my thanks in advance for any insight.

    Hi Martin,
    Thanks for the reply.
Right now I have Apple mail and Outlook installed on my mac laptop and both the applications do not connect to the exchange server. Apple Mail simply does a long process when I give my credentials to create my account and then it gives an error saying it
could not find the server while outlook quickly tells me that either the username or password is incorrect. At the same time I can connect to the server through outlook on my windows computer without any problems whatsoever.
From your reply, I gather that the VIA headers only affect Apple mail and should not affect Outlook app on the mac but right now, neither apps are connecting to the exchange server.
Either way I am trying to find out how to remove the VIA headers because it does not seem that we are using Kemp on the exchange server. Right now I do not have the in depth knowledge that I need because I was not involved in the implementation of our server
system, that was taken care of by a service provider and I was put in charge of mostly simple admin work. Now we are out of contract with the service provider so  pretty much everything has fallen onto my shoulders.
If possible, would you mind pointing me in the right direction to finding out if I am using a L7 load balancer and how I would go about removing the VIA headers?

I am running Firefox 4.0 version, but for some reason, it tries to download updates and then gets stuck on trying to connect to the update server. This has been happening the past few days. When I close the update, I can proceed in Firefox without incident (that I know of).

  • Connection from the web server to the database which is situated in another machine.

    Thanks for the reply.
I need to know, whether there shold be a physical connection between the web server and database machine? or can we connect to the database machine through the web, if the database machine has a domain name? if there is a physical connection, we can use the jdbc/odbc connection. but if we are connecting through the web, how can I estblish the connection using a JDBC/ ODBC connection?
    Regards,
    George

As long as there's a network connection between the two machines, you should be able to make the connection. I'm not sure what the difference between a 'direct connection' and a 'connection through the web' is-- are you actually running a network cable from one machine to another?
When you cannot make the connection, are you able to do a 'tnsping' on the target database?
When you say 'connecting through the web', is it possible that you're going through a firewall? If so, the firewall may be blocking the ports you need to communicate on.

  • How do I create a connection string to sql server?

    Hi All,
I am currently connecting to a SQL Server via ODBC DSN connection. I am wondering how do I create a connection string directly to a sql server without a DSN connection?
    Thank you in advance.

If you have SQL Server or client installed in your machine you can directly connect to SQL server using native connection. When you create new report you can see the option create new connection, here you can see SQL Server. Expand it and enter the connection details where you will be directly connected to SQL Server without ODBC connection.
