Direct  control to error page

Hi everyone,
I have a web application, in case if the link to a particular jsp is wrong then the server displays a page showing the message that page cud not be found and it also displays a link showing the server ip with the message that "please contact your system administratot".Say if I dont want that page to be displayed but an error page of my own.For a common eoor we usually have an entry in our web.xml but what should i do for such an error.I am using Tomcat.

Hi,
I understand you are trying to customize a standard page flow instead of A->B->C, you want to make it
A->C,
You have to extend the A's Controller and get the handle of the "Add Button" and transfer the page to 3rd page.
Decompile the 2nd page controller and check what the standard code is doing for the event 'Find Button' click.
You have to replicate the same.
But this could give some error, since the third page might expect some parameters which was passed from 2nd page.
You have to try and check.
Thanks.

Kali.

  • Direct the control to third page from 1st page instead of 2nd page.

    Hello All.
    I have three seeded pages.
-When i click on *'Add Button'* On the first page, the control goes to 2nd page. When in click on *'Find Button'* on 2nd page, the control goes to 3rd page which is a search page.
My Question: When i click on Add Button on 1st page, the control should be directed to the *3rd page, the search* instead of the 2nd page.
    How can i achieve it..??
What shall i write in the extension of the controller.?
    Need an answer urgently.

When I try to access adobe from my smart phone to use my form created in formscentral I receive an error message that says "unsupported browser". There is a link to download a supported browser but the link directs me to another page that says "browser not supported at this time". This happened to me while using my IPhone 5, a friend that uses an IPhone 6, and another friend that uses a Samsung Galaxy S5. I just need for my employees to be able to access, complete and submit work orders created in formscentral from their phones. I would like to use the data collection feature in formscentral but at this point any suggestions on how to accomplish this are welcomed. Thank you

Further info - I changed my security settings to allow apps from anywhere, and again tried to install.  I again got an error message

    Hi Ashok,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error after you re-built a SharePoint 2007 solution with VS2012, and deployed it.
Make sure the Namespace and Type Name are consistent across all files where indicated. Also with matching case sensitivity. Verify web.config file and assembly in GAC or virtual directory bin folder in post deployment.
More information, please refer to the link below:

  • Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe.

We have an SharePoint services 3.0 installation that uses custom web parts on 100s of subsites.  The custom web parts on any website is presenting this error
Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe.
This past weekend we decided to create a new database server and migrate the databases to the new server in an effort to retire an old box.
INitially we attempted to go through the configuration wizard which didnt do anything but add a new database server to our farm.  What we have done is remove the new database server from the farm and use an alias on the SP server to continue to use
the same name but actually get its data from the new database server.
Everything works with the site except these custom webparts.
Any thoughts on where to go to first, should i redeploy what i think are the webparts from VS 2005 (solutions are VS 2005 slns.)?

You need to make Safe Control enteries in your web.config for the particular web application.
    Open web.config
    Locate the SafeControls Tag
    Make a safe control entry
    <SafeControl Assembly="Assembly name, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=d8eb6481d8b4beec" Namespace="your webpart namespace" TypeName="*" Safe="True" />
In order to find the assembly details, Open the GAC. Right click on your dll and then click properties.

  • Page 0 and Error Page

Does Page 0 get executed when the error page template gets called? It doesn't appear to me. Can somebody confirm this?
    Thanks!

Quoc - Page 0 processes and computations fire only when page 0 is called directly (rare) or when other actual pages in your application are rendered. The same conditions apply to the rendering of page 0 items. When formatted error messages are sent to the browser under the control of the application's error page template, this is not a case of rendering an actual page in the application. So the answer is no.

  • Common Error page in Taskflow

    Hi All,
    Jdeveloper : 11.1.1.6
    Usecase:
I have a taskflow contains *20 page fragments*. I have a common error page fragment.
If any exception will happened in the any fragments then the control navigate to the common error fragment.
I can easily do this by connecting all 20 fragments to the common error fragment with ControlFlowCase .If I do like this my taskflow diagram will not look nice.
How can i achieve this without connecting all fragments to common error fragment.
Can I use wildcard here, any other ways is there?
Please suggest how to achieve this and provide some documents to follow.
Note: The common error should be a fragment or page. Not a popup.
    Thanks
    - Moahanraj

    Hi,
Open the taskflow in diagram view, select the common error page and Mark Activity as Exception Handler.
Now if there is any exception occurs user will be directed to this page.
Use this code for the exception handler, you will see the exception and you can give the required message to the user        <af:form id="f1">

  • Session Timeout directly taking to login page

    Hi,
In our application when session time out happens, it is directly taking to login page, instead of showing the time out error message . We have a CustomExceptionHandler defined in our application. When I debugged, I identified that the following error message

    hi
this can be done using a simple "Servlet Filters" which will check whether the user session is valid or not. so for every connect to the server the filter runs and redirects to the login page if the session has expired. here you can configure your filter to be activated for every URL or a patterns of urls.
u need servlet2.3 supported server for this.
    hope this helps

I have an business j2ee application run on oc4j. When the session timeout declared on the web.xml expire, i want to redirect automaticaly the user to my login.jsp to force him to reconnect. I try j_security_chek, but i want to restart the business application at the top and not to the page which are request. Somebody know who i can do this mechanism. I try too special tag in jsp, this run very good but i have to repeate this call on every page. I look for an other simply mechanism to that

  • How to show  an error Page in Weblogic when the server is down

    Hi ,
I heard that every container has the facility to show an error page when the server is down and (when the request has arrived at that time ).
Please tell me how to configure this in BEA weblogic ??
    Thanks .

    Hi,
From my understanding weblogic dose not provide the thing which you are asking for, reason is given below.
    - An application is deployed only on managed server one (MS-1)
    - Now if the request comes to the server (MS-1) when it was running and then for some reason MS-1 goes down then weblogic server would be able to send any response back to the client as its down.
    - Hence nothing can be done as the request object is been lost when the server goes down or even cant redirect to an error page as for doing that too the server has to be up and running.
However there are other way round which can help you overcome this issue as shown below
    - Use Clusters with few managed servers in it which gives you high availability and load-balancing.
    - Use any web servers like Apache in front of weblogic servers.
Using the above things you can also use customized HTTP Error Responses with error-page element in web.xml and create your own error pages which can be re-directed for the web server side also. For more information go through the below links

True the main method does not throw any exceptions, that's because there is no higher level to throw them to (actually it implicitly throws any uncaught exceptions to the JVM). That does not mean that you can't write your own try catch block around the code in the main method.

    Hi,
After moving my files from SP 2010 to SP 2013 , for all my web parts i am getting A webpart or web form control on this page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe. error. I checked web.config files

    Adit

    Hi Adit,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you deployed the .wsp files to SharePoint 2013.
I recommend to check if all the assemblies are put into the BIN and GAC.
If above cannot work, you can check the troubleshooting steps in the link below:

    Hi,
Actually Arnavsharma provided a operable method for you. But no luck, it's not invalid.
Here I also offer you an method you can try. Please delete the extra (parasite) zone from the Zones subkey :
Click Start , click Run , type regedit , and then click OK
    Expand the following registry subkey
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones
Delete the extra (parasite) zone from the Zones subkey
Note: The parasite zone is a pseudo-graphic number listed before zone number 0. The pseudo-graphic number looks like a miniature upper case "L"
    Close the registry editor
    Thanks!

    Any ideas what to try?

    a. Override your skeletons error.jsp to forward/redirect to your page.
    or
    b. If you primarily use pageflow portlets Define a shared flow which has an exception handling method and direct it to your page. Reference the shared flow in each of your controllers (i think global.app is deprecated in 10 otherwise you could do this there). this lets you log some additional information, plus gives you the added flexibility of dealing with different exception types
    or
    c. Override the path to error.jsp in your portlets properties (havent tested)
Note if you are using servlets etc you still need your web.xml java.lang.Exception entry. The reason it doesnt get picked up is because the portal framework is handling the exception

  • Problem in Jsp Error page mechanism

    Hi every body,
In my Jsp application I do some processing within scriplet tags. I have defined a error page using a page directive and I have defined my Error page separately. When there is an exception in a Jsp page, some times it calls the error page properly and displays it. But curiously in some occasions when there is an exception it doesn't call the error page, instead it includes the content of the Error page at the end of the same page, where the exception occurred. The web server is jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1. Can any one who has a idea about this problem help me. Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi there!
Well I was having the same problem as yours until I realized what was going on: the jsp writer has a small buffer size (by default 8kb) and that is why it flushes some html before displaying the error page. The jsp writer buffer is full before getting the exception, so it flushes the buffer and keeps on writing until the exception is thrown. Then the jsp writer writes the error page code...
You have to add some new parameters in your page directive: autoFlush(true or false) and buffer="16kb" (as much kbytes as you want). For example,
    <%@page autoFlush="false" buffer="sizekb".... %>
If autoFlush="false", the jsp writer has not finished and the buffer is full an exception will be thrown.
If autoFlush="true" and the buffer is full it will flush the buffer and so on.
In both cases, if the buffer size is big enough the error jsp page will be the only displayed
    Good luck!
    Inaki
